I haven't been here for a long time and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is here. The food is still of great quality

Don't know what went wrong with preparing our paella. At a Thai restaurant the food is less spicy. After reporting that it was not edible, we received the answer that the dishes could not be replaced. After reporting that I would not pay for this spicy paella, new portions were prepared. But the burning sensation in our mouths made it tasteless. Received no apology. In short: dinner was a disaster and today we will have to spend a lot of time on the toilet instead of enjoying our holiday.

Lovely place, but the food was just okay. We ordered 5 meat dishes (two grilled pork dishes, a schnitzel, and a steak) and all five were disappointing (tough and chewy) and the fried did not really make up for it. Mostly disappointed because several of our orders came from the "recommendation" section. The salad bar was delicious, though. As was the one pasta dish we ordered.

Are there about 3 times a week. The lunch menu is unbeatable in terms of value for money, breakfast is all inclusive with coffee to spare, and the tapas evening on Thursday is a dream

Went to the musical in Oberhausen on Sunday and had a delicious meal in Don Carlos. There is a large lunch menu with various dishes and the price is great. The food was fantastic and the service was also great, quick and friendly. Everything was very well organized.

0 stars would be appropriate! I visited Don Carlos with several work colleagues on November 28th, 2024. It should be the all-you-can-eat tapas buffet. The store was full and the unfortunately very poor service was not prepared for the rush. Long waiting times for drinks were accompanied by watery drinks and cocktails and even a drink that was spilled in the back (not ordered). The range of dishes was varied, but more in the “finest from the deep fryer” category. If you expect original Spanish tapas, you should definitely avoid visiting Don Carlos. The fact that the announced live music wasn't available no longer mattered. But the icing on the cake came at the end: Instead of the price of €27.90 per person shown both on the website and on the board in front of the entrance door, the fun was suddenly supposed to cost €29.90. Don Carlos had already deposited the price in his cash register! An employee was then quickly sent to the door to wipe the price off the board. Only after being informed that the matter could also be discussed with the public order office was “only” €27.90 generously charged. Adios Don Carlos and goodbye!

Never experienced such lousy service. The blonde behind the bar in particular has a big beef with customers. Unacceptable.

Very rich breakfast buffet, it is refilled immediately if something is empty. I don't know what's missing there, coffee and cocoa as much as you want. We've been going for breakfast once a month for 4 years and have always been super satisfied.

A restaurant that is second to none... the best restaurant in Centro O. The lunch menu is valid until 5 p.m. and is unbeatable in terms of price for the quality and quantity of food. Everyone will get their money's worth here... just try it out and let your taste buds do the talking... Highly recommended is the Argentinian steak on the lunch menu for 15 euros... Mega!!!

I had a wonderful evening at this restaurant, and a big part of the experience was the outstanding service. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive and professional. As soon as I entered I was warmly greeted and the whole atmosphere was immediately pleasant and inviting. The service staff was very courteous, always had a smile on their faces and responded to all requests without seeming intrusive. Particularly noteworthy is how she supported us with menu recommendations and ensured a perfect balance between presence and restraint. We can highly recommend Don Carlos. A bit annoying at the beginning: the waiting times and also the wait for the first round of drinks were quite long (although there was a Christmas market next door, which could possibly have contributed to this). But the staff was very nice and apologized. The atmosphere is very appealing and modern! We really enjoyed the food. Ordered several different tappas and all of them were fantastic and very seasoned. The wine and long drink also tasted very good. Would definitely eat there again and order tappas again.

Great food, especially the buffet has a good selection. There is something for everyone. Delicious tapas and other Spanish dishes. I find the ambience to be loud, which is due to the large room without divisions. The service was always quick, friendly and accommodating. We enjoy going to Don Carlos and would love to come back.

The food was tasty, but the portions were a bit small, so the price/performance ratio wasn't quite right in my opinion. I had ox cheeks, which were really tender and tasty, the fries were unfortunately a bit sticky, the selection of salads at the buffet was good and the salads were also good. The service is nice and attentive. The food also came quickly. The ambience is not that sparkling, unfortunately the general volume is a bit high, some people are unfortunately not able to close the door behind them, so it is sometimes quick and fresh near the door in winter. The background music is also not to my taste and is very lame. Visually, the presentation is quite nice and it is clean.

Nicely located in the Centro Oberhausen directly on the promenade. We reserved a table and were warmly welcomed when we registered. This friendliness continued throughout the entire stay. Drinks came quickly and the food was served quickly despite the restaurant being full. The menu offers a nice and varied selection of tapas. But also in pasta and meat dishes and more. The selection of spirits, beer and cocktails also offers a variety of choices. Everyone should find something here. The biggest concern, given the rush and the size, was that, like in so many large stores, you would be fobbed off with quick and rather mediocre food. The fears were anything but true. All the tapas we ordered were of very good quality and at very reasonable prices. We felt more than comfortable in the Spanish-inspired atmosphere during our entire stay and will definitely come back.

Unfortunately not recommended. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all. My husband ordered a steak for a whopping €37 and instead of the steak medium without fries he ordered, he received a completely cooked steak with fries. It looked the same with the neighbor. Among other things, I had black tiger prawns, which unfortunately were completely fried. Furthermore, they were definitely not black tigers, but much smaller shrimp. Unfortunately, there is no cooking here, just warmed up or heated in some way. But everything is very overpriced because the quality is absolutely not right. We like to pay good money for good food. .but unfortunately it's not true here at all.

Lunch with top value for money - gladly again!

A bad price/performance ratio. The lunch menu still seems to be the best choice. As a starter we ordered bruschetta, among other things, and we got two pieces of bread with tomatoes. The bacon-wrapped dates were not at all aromatic and sweet. The pork in all main courses was tough rather than tender. The service, however, was very friendly.

My wife and I went for dinner and coffee today. Service, taste and price very good.

Food was OK for the price, could have been a little more. ATTENTION: Prices will increase from 5 p.m. We sat outside on the terrace, covered and also closed...smoking area...we should have thought about where to sit earlier as we had already eaten in a cloud of smoke. Here I recommend simply ventilating more or not closing the pages at all. I also found it a bit greasy outside. Service was OK, we were also given good advice. (Almost ordered us something without alcohol😅), but would have liked to have taught him how to hold a tray or the plates when clearing away😉 Ambiance: so-so outside... inside when I walked through (had to go to the toilet) it seemed cleaner and much nicer, more chilled out... We spontaneously went there for lunch with 10 people (including kids), which was absolutely no problem, even though it was well attended. The service was very friendly, the food came quickly and at the same time! All ten dishes were very good, the side salad was fresh and the quantity of main courses, including the children's plate, was generous. Good prices and still good quality! It's not that common anymore, so it's highly recommended!

Whenever I'm at Westfield/Centro I go to Don Carlos. Here I can recommend the fettuchini with shrimps from the daily menu, which I choose every time. Super freshly prepared and simply delicious. I feel very comfortable there, great and attentive staff, no long waiting times for the food to arrive. It all fits together. I always enjoy coming there.

We like to eat tapas and are used to good things, but wanted to try something new. The good Google rating, the nice location on the promenade and the cheap prices on the website led us to Don Carlos. Ambience: The location on the water is great, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the facilities are comfortable. Despite the low usage, it is quite loud and the Latin dance vibes from the speakers are not very authentic. Service: The occupancy rate was low and yet it was only after 15 minutes that cards were placed on the table without a word. Afterwards the waitress showed a modicum of politeness. We didn't really feel welcome. Eat First of all, the tapas were 1-3€ more expensive than stated online. I find that to be disgraceful. We had aioli, olives, chorizo, bacon-wrapped dates, goat cheese with honey and stuffed croquettes in normal portions as well as 2 soft drinks for €54. But not so cheap anymore. Annoying, but justifiable if the food had been good. Kurt summarized: Aioli good, bread not fresh, dates flabby, olives also with little taste, goat cheese solid but very sweet, croquette filling only tasted like potatoes, chorizo ​​was very cooked. The food is edible, but unfortunately not more than standard system catering. The rating should be seen in relation to the price-performance ratio. We'll eat somewhere else next time.

Located in the middle of the Centro Promenade, the stands with the advertised antipasti lured us in for a small lunch snack while we strolled. We were seated outside and after a short wait we were warmly greeted by our waitress and given the menus. Special requests when ordering drinks were responded to very well and everything was checked regularly during our visit. Thank you for that. Unfortunately, this positive first impression was not reflected at all in the food chosen and it quickly became clear that the food prepared was simply designed for quick walk-in customers and not regular customers. The quality of the products chosen was felt to be very poor at times. Eating is definitely an experience where you want to treat yourself to something outside of your everyday kitchen and cooking. Much more is possible and will not tempt us to visit you again. Very unfortunate.

Thursday is "all you can eat" tapas, although in my opinion many things that are typically Spanish were missing (chorizo, gambas, albondigas, etc.). There was a lot that didn't belong there (chicken nuggets, tortellini, chili cheese nuggets, etc.). For the price of €23.90 per person it was too expensive for the performance.
