Excellent food and very professional service Simply amazing

We returned to Dionysos with friends after a long absence and were looking forward to a pleasant evening with good food. The food itself was delicious, although the portions were noticeably smaller than before. Unfortunately, the service soured the evening. While we were still busy with our appetizers, the salad was forced on us for the main course, even though there was no room on the table. Shortly after, the main course arrived, even though we were still in the middle of our appetizers, and we had to send them back. This seemed very rushed and uninformed. After dinner, we wanted to finish the evening for a while, but suddenly, we were quite rudely informed that the restaurant was closing. We found this very unfortunate and rude. We've been here several times in the past, but this was unfortunately our last visit. It's a shame, because the food is still good, but the service and atmosphere have deteriorated significantly.

The two of us went there for dinner this evening. I had cheese croquettes for a starter. Unfortunately, they were still frozen. For the main course, I had bifteki, and it looked very good. Unfortunately, it was only lukewarm. My husband's meal, on the other hand, was beyond reproach; it was really good.

Very good Greek food! The dishes were delicious, well-seasoned, and the portions were absolutely generous. The meat, in particular, was juicy and well-grilled. The service was friendly, but could have been a bit more attentive in places. Overall, a lovely evening—we'd be happy to go again!

Mit das beste griechische Restaurant in dem ich außerhalb Griechenlands je war. Die Musik war etwas laut und nicht sehr griechisch, aber das Essen war fantastisch, wenn auch nicht ganz günstig.

Bei meinem Besuch konnte mich das Restaurant Dionysos leider nicht überzeugen. Der Gastraum erstreckt sich über zwei Ebenen. Wir waren in der oberen Etage. Atmosphäre: Es war einfach sehr sehr laut im gut gefüllten Restaurant. Man konnte sich nur schwer Unterhalten. Zugleich wirkte alles aufgeregt und hektisch. Die Kellnerinnen machen dort einen riesen Job, Hut ab! Allerdings können auch sie die Hektik nicht gänzlich kompensieren. Qualität der Küche: Die Gerichte waren eher lieblos angerichtet, Pommes waren matschig und wirkten fast halb durch m, anstatt knusprig und lecker. Das Fleisch war in Sachen Geschmack und Saftigkeit eher unterer Durchschnitt. Am stäkste Irritiert hat mich das Steak vom Schwein; Das wirkte wie eines der vormarinierten Supermarkt-Steaks in roter Marinade. (eher ungewöhnlich für eine Griechische Spezialität). Ich konnte wie schon geschrieben nicht überzeugt werden und gebe daher keine Empfehlung ab.

The gyros and bifteki are gluten-free. The French fries are not. If you have celiac disease, either speak to the manager or ask for the chef to help you to avoid contamination. The food and service were good.

Yes, what happened there? The food has become very expensive, every Greek restaurant I know in Heidelberg and the surrounding area is cheaper! Is the food worth the money? Definitely not! The gyros with Metaxa sauce was partly cold and the sauce was not a sauce, but rather an indefinable mush. The lamb out of the oven was tough and didn't seem to be freshly cooked. Normally we know that the tender meat practically falls off the bone by itself. If you come with expectations you will be very disappointed here.

Today we spontaneously went to Dionysos for a long time. I had very positive memories of the restaurant and the food there, but was suddenly disappointed today! The pepperoni was hard, the bread wasn't quite as fresh, the salad was quite carelessly prepared and a bit "withered", and the service was quite listless and unmotivated. In my opinion, the excessive prices were by no means justified! Unfortunately I can't understand the positive reviews! It's a shame - but unfortunately the restaurant is no longer recommended!

Ordered a cold starter platter (as it says on the menu), huge fried zucchini and eggplant with a bit of octopus. There was so much garlic in the tzatziki that I felt completely sick afterwards. The side salad was boring and tasteless, a shame.

Overrated... unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right. Greek bar/restaurant with the usual dishes. Relatively expensive, which unfortunately doesn't reflect the quality of the food. The food is partly made from convenience products, a side salad from a bag, nothing on it and then a ready dressing on top. For my fish platter, the sole (expensive and actually good fish 🐟) was unfortunately only possible in breading and was completely tasteless - no seasoning on it. You get large portions - but only with the side dishes as there is rice and fries - here I would prefer the choice and better quality. The service is friendly and fast and ignorant :-) Fish platter for 1 person = €30 (€29.80) with the deficiencies listed above... nope, it was a one-off visit

The service was very stressful when a group of 35 people came, if you had ordered drinks you had to wait a long time and then the waitress asked loudly who was getting the drink and placed it on the table with a bang. When ordering food it was quick but when the food arrived it was lukewarm so you get the main course and then you had to keep saying that the salad was missing and you get the answer: I only have two hands but in what a tone. Then the salad came and you weren't hungry anymore because you ate the skin dish in the meantime otherwise it would be cold by the time the salad arrived. As far as I know, the menu says that every dish comes with a salad, so why don't you get the salad first like in other restaurants, but just in between or at the end. We were here 2 years ago and it went wonderfully with friendly service, there were no problems with the food and no one said I only have two hands. So I think if you're with a group of 35 people or more I wouldn't recommend it. We're having our Christmas dinner next year somewhere else, at the Krautwickel restaurant, where we've already eaten and it was wonderful.

Unfortunately I was disappointed here. The salad, well let's put it this way, there are much better ones. To my devil's liking, I found this portion a bit okay for the price. Strictly speaking there were 2 small pieces of meat and if you call that a sauce, well. For me it was like paprika match, but no sauce. The taste wasn't the best either. Unfortunately you won't see me here again.

We had our Christmas party there on Wednesday. The food was good... The service staff was quick and very friendly. What I thought was really good was that there were 20 of us and the food came to the table at the same time and we all thought that was really great. Nobody had to wait for anything, if you had a special request, it was immediately requested even though the restaurant was full... Service and food were top! We will definitely be celebrating our Christmas party there again next year!

Excellent food with flexible service, clearly worth the price

I don't eat meat. But these days a restaurant should have a little more selection of vegetarian dishes. I rarely eat here anymore. You starve to death here as a vegetarian. And the chef should take the many bad reviews as an example to do better. The young waitresses don't even say hello when you enter the restaurant. Some dishes are completely overpriced due to the quality.

Service was forced, or he was having a really bad day. Food was good and it's a nice enough looking place. When trying to pay by card their machine malfunctioned and the blame was put on me, even threatening with the police. When I responded that I would welcome police intervention they said I could pay by transferring the money. I transferred my payment with online banking in front of the manager where she also saw my account status. It was a very unpleasant experience to be blamed for their inability and lack of service or experience to find an amicable solution straight away. For that reason I will not return.

We have enjoyed coming to this restaurant for years. Were very very disappointed for the first time in years. Unfortunately the quality wasn't what it was before. We think that there was a change of ownership and that this has something to do with it. Very unfortunate. The taste was not as usual. Fries also changed like from the oven at home.

I was a satisfied guest in your restaurant for many years, but unfortunately on my last visit I realized that the quality no longer corresponds to what I was used to. When I visited on Saturday the meat was very dry. And another fly came out of the food. The waitress picked it out with her fingernail. All in all a very bad experience and I definitely won't come back. The health department should definitely stop by here.

To be honest, I can't understand the many positive reviews. You don't have to be an expert to recognize the poor quality of the food. I only give the 2 stars out of politeness. The prices are completely exorbitant - neither the service, the location nor the quality of the food justify these costs. A rump steak with onions, fries and salad costs €35, while another dish with rump steak, gyros, cutlet, fries, rice and salad costs just €28. This pricing seems arbitrary. The food was served cold. The fries seemed warmed up, probably just thrown in the microwave. The rice was completely tasteless. The salad seemed stale and had obviously been prepared hours ago. It came to the table within a minute. The sauces had no taste and the soft drinks were stale. The ouzo served was also of poor quality. The service was fine, but overall the visit was a big disappointment. €105 for three people – it was definitely not worth it. Once and never again.

Hello guys, I was there with my family and ordered a lot. Only the Saranaki Feta was freshly prepared. The fish we ordered was warmed up and definitely not freshly prepared, and the salad already had brown corners. Everything was still cold inside, so this couldn't have been freshly prepared. The service person was very unfriendly and simply ignored the suggestion that the food wasn't warm and was cold on the inside. The worst restaurant we have ever eaten in. There wasn't even an apology for the bad food. The restaurant should be ashamed! Since I was there with my children, I didn't want to have any discussions with the employees there. It's a shame that a restaurant like this can exist. This matter will also be reported to the health department. If I want to eat something warmed up, I buy a frozen pizza or a can of ravioli from the supermarket. Never again, that was really the last!

Griechische Qualität in Deutschland stellt man sich anders vor. Nicht nur die Pommes sind fett durchzogen, das Fleisch auch. Der Spieß (Souflaki) mehr gekocht als gegrillt und fast ungenießbar. Die Kellnerin weiß, warum es den Ouzo Mix auf Kosten des Hauses gibt… Quantität ok- Preis für das gebotene zu hoch! Ambiente in Stadtlage will bezahlt sein… Wiederholung ausgeschlossen.

We ordered a Delphi platter for two and left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. We actually couldn't find anything wrong with the dish as the vegetables and meat tasted good. The fries and the Campari we ordered also tasted good. Apart from the annoying wasps flying around, the visit there was pleasant because the tables outside were well spaced so that everyone had their own privacy. The staff was also friendly, but we had to wait a little longer until someone came to the table, for example to order something or pay. Parking was available in the underground car park next door.

I have been a satisfied guest in your restaurant for many years, but unfortunately on my last two visits I discovered that the quality no longer corresponds to what I was used to. In addition, the fish dishes have also changed significantly and there is hardly any choice for vegetarians. Unfortunately, on my last visit the food was oversalted. Although we still ate it, I wished that they had at least given us a small discount of 5 euros on the bill as a gesture of courtesy. This would have been a nice act of customer service. For these reasons, I feel compelled to forego further visits for the time being. However, I really hope that you can learn from this experience and improve in the future.

We went there twice for lunch with our friends. This time my meal, 'Gyros in Metaxa sauce gratinated with cheese' was totally over salted! My husband felt the same way after tasting it. I couldn't even finish half of it. After complaining to the waitress, NOTHING happened!!! There wasn't even a discount! Otherwise it is pleasant there. There is a large salad plate, a small piece of cake and the usual Greek schaps - free of charge! The furniture is already a bit worn! Next time I'll eat something different!

Once one of the best Greeks in the city. Today even 1 star is too many. Grilled peppers were hard and inedible after a complaint and new ones were brought, but they were no better. Souvlaki dry, gyros soaked in fat. Bifteki frozen goods and salad from the pack. We're not coming anymore.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The food was incredibly dry and had no taste at all. It was really hard to find anything enjoyable. Added to this were the unfriendly waiters who obviously had no desire to take care of the guests. All in all a very bad experience. I definitely won't be coming back.

Our visit to Dionysos: there was a foam plastic blanket on the table (outside), the menagerie on it hadn't been cleaned for weeks, the service was friendly, the salad (came quickly) had clear signs of storage that the unloving gossip was supposed to cover up with salad marinade, the salad plate hadn't been washed clean Food: Ouzo platter and gratinated gyros came quickly, the fries were soaked in oil and cold, the Suzuki was burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside, just warm, the gyros on the plate were just two tablespoons large, greasy. The first complaint about the ouzo plate goes back with a reference to the undercooked Suzuki and the cold fries, then the request for fresh fries to go with the gyros, shortly afterwards the same fries come back, now even oilier. The gyros gratinated in a steel bowl, the sauce burned on the inside on the edge. The gyros was warm on the edge and cold in the middle. The second meal goes back and they ask for the bill with the note that the chef should decide. No reaction from the kitchen, only the waitress, who isn't really up to the situation, lets us leave without paying. Not a word of apology, no further questions. We then ate a currywurst with fries around the corner, which tasted wonderfully good. Dionysus probably won't see it again and we warn our circle of friends not to visit.

The food wasn't my cup of tea, quality, typical country spices and somehow a lack of love in the preparation of the food. Service was good. When it comes to the ambience, point deduction for the dirty flowers. Water in the vases was definitely left for longer. I'm talking about my experiences that day.

Wir waren gestern dort. Früher waren wir sehr gerne dort essen. Mittlerweile ist es einfach überteuert, alt, alte Möbel, pappige Getränkekarten auf dem Tisch. Der Salat war eine Frechheit ( braun und alt). Wir haben den ganzen Tag nachher ein Übel Aufstoßen und Magenkrämpfe… nie wieder…..

Oven roasted Lamb (#40 Arni Giouvesti) was delicious. I don’t know why people aren’t lined up to have this. The lamb was flavourful as was the tomato sauce that it was cooked in and the feta on top put it there. On top.
