Restaurant Dalmatino in Stuttgart

Delicious Croatian and Swabian food. Unfortunately, it's closing soon in December.

Before our four-hour journey, we checked the reviews and were rarely so disappointed by what we found. A restaurant calling itself "Dalmatino" immediately caught our attention with a local German radio station playing instead of Croatian—or even Dalmatian—music. The annoyingly flickering disco lights and the excessively loud music—complete with constant traffic reports—only made matters worse. My wife ordered pljeskavica, and I had the mixed grill. Her pljeskavica was paper-thin, clearly never seen a grill, and was a grayish-black, rubbery color. My mixed grill also contained one, but much smaller. The cevapcici seemed to have been reheated, just like the rest of the mixed grill. It certainly didn't look fresh off the grill. The ajvar was incredibly thin (diluted?), and I've definitely never seen such almost liquid djuvec rice. The best thing about the mixed grill was the raw onions and the fries; the rest, at an outrageous €20, wasn't worth the money. What's more, there was so little of it that neither my wife nor I were full and needed pancakes to feel even remotely satisfied. Even though we were the only customers by then (at 6 pm!), the pancakes arrived cold. Even my wife's "spritzer" (half white wine, half sparkling water) was made with stale water instead of the usual sparkling mineral water in Croatia. €65 down the drain. Neither of our meals came with a salad. We weren't even asked if we wanted one. The worst Croatian restaurant we've had in years... and we always order Croatian food when we're in another city in Germany. As we were leaving, we noticed the dreary area to the right, where you're supposed to sit outside in the summer: completely covered in leaves on the tables, chairs, and ground. Truly awful. We've never seen such a squalid place in Croatia; quite the opposite, in fact: perfectly clean. But not at "Dalmatino".

The staff is not only friendly and accommodating, but also extremely knowledgeable. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive and was able to answer all of our questions about the dishes and wines in detail. Her recommendations were excellent and contributed significantly to making our evening a memorable one. The heart of the restaurant is, of course, the food. The menu at Dalmatino is diverse and offers a wide selection of Dalmatian specialties, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every course we tried was a feast for the palate. The appetizers were a perfect start—especially the seafood platter, which was fresh and delicate. The main course, a traditional Dalmatian dish, was superbly seasoned and perfectly prepared. The combination of flavors was masterful and demonstrated the chef's high culinary skills. The wine list at Dalmatino is equally impressive. It offers a carefully curated selection of regional and international wines. We consulted with the sommelier, and his selection perfectly complemented our dishes, enhancing the enjoyment even further. Another highlight was dessert. We opted for a homemade dessert that was not only a visual work of art, but also tasted of the highest quality. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite. In addition to the outstanding food and excellent service, Dalmatino also offers very good value for money. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the food and the service provided. It's clear that customer satisfaction and an all-round successful restaurant experience are important here. In summary, the Dalmatino restaurant is a true insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy high-quality Dalmatian cuisine in a beautiful setting. Every visit is a delight for all the senses, and we will certainly be back soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent cuisine and outstanding service!

I had the grilled food, which was very tasty and well-cooked. The portion came with rice and fries. There were also plenty of different meats. Great value for money.

Oh my God, this was the best restaurant in a long time! Everything is just perfect here – from the ambiance to the dessert. There were ten of us, all hungry, and the portions were just right. We started with a nice Aperol Spritz, then, for me, a small side salad, and the highlight was a wonderful roast beef with onions… or perhaps the vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries was the highlight. Some had the grilled meat, liver, or Wiener schnitzel. Everything was served promptly and together. A truly perfect evening!

Wir waren am 11.11.2023 dort. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Kellner war der Oberhammer, obwohl er fast alle alleine bedient hat, musste niemand lange warten. Überaus freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr schnell 👍

Super tolles Ambiente. Der Service ist mega. Freundlichkeit wird hier groß geschrieben. Es gibt eine riesen Auswahl an Gerichten und egal was man nimmt,es schmeckt mega. Die Portionen sind wirklich groß, Preis Leistung top.

Ich war zum ersten Mal im Dalmatino, und ich war sehr positiv gestimmt. Das Essen war echt super lecker und eine absolut ausreichende Portion. Die Bedienung hatte auch immer einen lockeren Spruch auf Lager, somit stand einem gemütlichen Aufenthalt nichts im Wege. Sobald ich wieder Mal in Stuttgart bin, komme ich gerne wieder.

Waren spazieren und sind dem leckeren Geruch gefolgt :) Das Restaurant wirkt sehr sauber, das Essen frisch. Einfache, aber sehr leckere Küche. Oft bekomme ich bei deftigem Essen danach Magenschmerzen, das war hier nicht der Fall. (Obwohl ich ne riesen Portion verdrückt habe.) Der Service war auch sehr freundlich. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Hier kann man richtig gut Essen. Kroatische und schwäbische Spezialitäten. Aktuell gibt es auf der Tageskarte ein Rinderfilet, mit Pfeffersoße und Kroketten. Wer gerne Fisch mag, ist hier genau richtig. Der Fisch vom Grill schmeckt super (z.B. Dorade). Nur genial. Kann das Dalmatino nur empfehlen. Auch die Parkplatzsituation ist super, 50 m vom Restaurant entfernt ist ein großer Parkplatz.
