Restaurant Café Pöllmann in Medebach

We dropped in spontaneously without a reservation, which shouldn't be a problem as long as there are free tables. There were still two of them. Our drinks arrived after about 15 minutes, which is perfectly fine. The second drink order was forgotten twice, and the food didn't arrive for over two hours. With small children, this was a nightmare. Especially since four tables ahead of us received their food. One table arrived at the same time as us, the other three arrived 15-45 minutes after us. Our lack of a reservation was the reason for the long wait. (The table that arrived at the same time as us also didn't have a reservation.) It's unacceptable that you're not served until everyone else has their food, especially when some arrive 45 minutes after you. If they had told us this upon arrival, we would have simply moved on. It's a shame, because the food was really good, but the service to a family with small children was abysmal.

We ate there on the last night of our vacation. We hadn't booked, but we were warmly welcomed. A very friendly hostess who enjoyed her work. The portions were more than ample. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, even though they had a fantastic ice cream sundae on the menu. It was an evening we'll definitely repeat if we're ever in the area again.

We ate at Pöllmann for our wedding anniversary. When my husband called to reserve a table and told us about our anniversary, he asked the lovely waitress if she could decorate the table. She welcomed us and was very nice; we had a pleasant chat. We felt welcome, and the service was truly excellent. The food was truly delicious. I had salmon and my husband had rump steak. If we're ever in the region again, we'd definitely come back. Bring cash. You can pay by card, but you can't tip, and you'll want to.

We were unfortunately disappointed. Based on the reviews and the description of the restaurant itself, we had certain expectations and were looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, the service and the food were rather uncaring and bland, and the cake tasted stale and frozen. Accordingly, the price was simply not justified, and we wouldn't visit the place again.

We ate at Pöllmann today. We really enjoyed both the service and the food. Very friendly staff, and the chef even comes by after he's prepared the food to wish you a good appetite. You'll also get a filling meal there. Very child-friendly. Delicious homemade ice cream.

Very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Children are welcome, and books and small toys are available for while you wait. The service is very friendly and attentive, and the owner also gave us a very warm welcome. The dishes (Ladies' Cut rump steak, corn-fed chicken, schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce, baked potato, large salad, children's schnitzel) were all delicious, and the side salads were beautifully presented. Even the chicken nuggets for the kids were homemade or from a very good butcher and truly delicious.

Highly recommended restaurant. We went for dinner with the whole family (10 people) on Saturday. The waitresses and the owner were very warm and accommodating. The dishes were all delicious and absolutely reasonable in price. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We reserved a table at the Pöllmann Restaurant and were very impressed. (70th birthday). The table was nicely set. The staff, as well as the manager, were very friendly and helpful. They immediately brought us a highchair for our little one and pointed us to a play area. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. We spent some time in the restaurant and received very friendly service the whole time. If we ever come near Medebach again, we will definitely stop by Cafe Pöllmann again. We had a piece of cake and ice cream in the afternoon. Both were delicious. The extremely friendly service impressed us so much that we went back that evening. And what can we say? The service couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive, and the food was absolutely fantastic.

After a day of walking in the beautiful surroundings of Medebach we ended up here at a fairly late time in the evening. There were a few other guests chatting. When we asked if there was still a table for two available, the host gave us a funny dry "that should be possible". Furthermore, we were served by the cheerful and very helpful hostess. A fantastic restaurant with fantastic service – not just for humans, but also for dogs! Our four-legged friend was greeted warmly right away and was given a bowl of water without us having to say anything. The food was truly delicious, the atmosphere relaxed, and the staff very attentive. We felt completely at home and would love to come back – with our dog, of course!☺️

Excellent restaurant – a real insider tip! We are vacationing at Center Parcs, and since the food there unfortunately didn't impress us, we looked for alternatives – and came across the Pöllmann restaurant. Only about 7 minutes away by car, or easily accessible on foot, the visit was worth every meter! The beer garden is lovely for warm summer days. The welcome was warm, and the service – a very friendly and attentive waitress – was extremely child-friendly. The manager even personally asked if everything was to our satisfaction – a gesture you don't see very often these days. The food was excellent, the prices absolutely fair – the value for money is simply spot on. A clear recommendation, especially for families with children. Our conclusion: It's better to drive a few minutes further and eat really well – we'll definitely be back!

We spent a few lovely days in Medebach and particularly enjoyed our last evening here. We had the roasted May poulard with whiskey and cranberry sauce – incredibly delicious! It was accompanied by fine rösti and a fresh salad, all perfectly combined. We chose the "Waidmannsglück" venison dish and were delighted. The service was warm and attentive, and we immediately felt at home. We were seated in the small, lovingly designed, and cozy courtyard/garden. My partner and I haven't eaten this well in a long time. The food was of impeccable quality and taste. And the staff were super friendly and accommodating. A great team! Even the restrooms were lovingly designed with small details in mind. There was a changing area that even had diapers, wipes, and changing mats available free of charge. The location is perfect, especially for guests from Center Parc - Hochsauerland, as the restaurant is only a 5-minute drive away. We'll be happy to come back next time we're in the area. :)

We spontaneously went to the Pöllmann restaurant today and were very impressed. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff, including the owner, were very friendly and helpful. When they noticed we had a baby with us, they immediately gave us a good seat where we could leave the child comfortably. The appetizers and main courses were truly delicious and freshly prepared. It's nice to know that there are still restaurants that value good quality. Everything was great value for money. We felt incredibly comfortable and will come back if we're ever in the area!

My husband and I came here for the first time to eat asparagus with our two female sheepdogs during our vacation last year. We enjoyed it so much that we went again this year. The extremely friendly waitress actually recognized us, and we immediately felt at home. Our dogs were immediately offered something to drink, and they even asked if they could have a treat. Not only our four-legged friends, but we too were served very warmly and courteously. You rarely find something like that these days. The food was once again a delight and plentiful, so we simply felt at home all around. We would love to come back next year and are already looking forward to it.

Really nice place! Great food, great price for what you get, great service! Our server was very friendly and energetic, despite service being slow today. She understands a little dutch and english on top of her fluent german, so it was easy to chat! The atmosphere is charming and relaxed, with good lighting. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the food, but both of us cleared our plates! Roast chicken and salmon were moist, everything was seasoned well and just cooked to perfection. And I always love a place that doesn't neglect dessert! Lots of different kinds of ice cream coupes, big or small, and luckily there were some baked goods left as well which i tried and loved. Absolutely no reason for service to be as slow as it was, i hope it gets busy again really soon!

I ate a schnitzel, and there was hair in it. The service was rude and unhelpful. If I asked for something from the waitress, it took 15 minutes to get it! The waitress made jokes that were very unfunny.

The service staff was excellent and took great care of us. The children were also very well looked after. A truly fantastic restaurant. Highly recommended.

We had a really nice evening with friends with the dog at Pöllmann's. The food (asparagus dish) was delicious and not overpriced! Above all, the asparagus cream soup and the hollondaise sauce were a poem because they weren't so buttery! Hmmm! The service was super friendly, flexible and ready for any “infamy”. We felt very comfortable here in the dignified atmosphere and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience!

We were there twice in one day: After visiting a museum, the six of us ended up at Pöllmann's for coffee and cake. It was the best cake we have eaten in a very long time. Two of us even took a second piece of cake instead of just one. Because of the cake, the friendly and completely stress-free service and the ambience, we reserved a table for the evening. The menu consists of a few well-selected dishes. There is something for everyone! Everything we had was delicious, presented in a modern way and definitely didn't come from a bag - but you could tell that from the menu and the previous cake! Price-wise - absolutely fair and more than appropriate. All in all a recommendation!

Super delicious strawberry cake. I had two slices with whipped cream. In the evening, we had a Wiener Schnitzel. Also very tasty. None of our food needed any additional seasoning. The price was absolutely fair and reasonable compared to the Ruhr area.

This was beautifully served in a glass cup and it tasted really good too. The service was very top! The woman who helped us was so friendly! We don't speak German very well, but she did her best to understand us as best she could. She was also so nice with our four-year-old daughter. We enjoyed it very much here!

Enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight. Large plates of food, great price and it was all perfect! The waitress was unexpectedly walking alone, so the service took a little longer, but the friendly, service-oriented attitude made up for everything. Cheerful, pleasant woman, up for a joke and did not make any fuss about adjustments to the main courses. Salads (accompanied by the main course) were served on a separate plate as a kind of appetizer and then the main courses were reserved. Dessert was also delicious, but just too much for our teenagers. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, tables not too close together. We had a wonderful evening. If we ever go on holiday to Medebach again, I will definitely eat here again.
