Food was great, value for money was good, homemade bread for starters was fantastic, great ambience.

Very tasty steaks cooked to perfection and all over an open fire. That alone is worth the stars. The service was very friendly and attentive. We would love to come back 😊

The atmosphere is a bit kitschy, but quaint. The meat is of very good quality, although the smoke flavors, which probably come from the spices, are not my thing.

The places are sometimes very narrow, We had to get another seat, 4 people. We complained about the portion size of two dishes because they didn't correspond to the gross weight, but we were given more meat without complaining. Everything tasted good and the service was very attentive.

Always worth a visit. Great service, great ambience and dogs allowed.

Personally, I think the food is very very good. Happy to come back.

As a vegetarian, I had a salad, mozzarella sticks and a slice of bread from others. Everything is great, the bread is amazing! I definitely have to come back here.

Delicious steaks from the charcoal grill

For me it is the best steakhouse in Hanover. The meat is prepared over an open fire and the baked potato with dip or the breads and dips are simply unbeatable. I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.

Always super tasty. The meat there is always tender and well seasoned. The sourcream is still the best you can get. Been happy with everything.

Great burgers. Juicy and great sauce. Fresh fries. Turkey steak is also great. There should be a little less sauce here. Super nice staff. We become regulars.

Unfortunately the burger was nothing at all - it only consisted of ready-made ingredients and was therefore very poor value for money.

A constant when it comes to steaks for years. The baked potatoes with a delicious dip are recommended. The burgers are perfect!

Nice restaurant in a rustic atmosphere. Food usually comes to the table very quickly and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have the feeling that the quality varies between really good and quite good, but always tasty and fresh. I've never had any reason to complain and whenever I'm in Hanover I stop by at least once.

I've known this steakhouse since the late 80s and was last there 5 years ago. I'm just thrilled, the food was so delicious, just as I remembered it. The service was absolutely top, super accommodating and super friendly. We really enjoyed our time today in the great atmosphere. A really big thank you to the whole team👏👌. The steaks from the swivel grill, the side salad and the warm farmhouse bread: everything is just as delicious as it was 40 years ago. Always a highlight for me and all my relatives.

Simple good food. Grilled pork and beef meat. Salads, garnishes (e.g. baked potatoes). Usual drinks.

If you want to enjoy a really good burger with a crispy salad, Das Ding is just the thing! We were absolutely thrilled with the food. The service staff were super friendly, very personable and quick. The ambience is a matter of taste, but I thought it was nice with all the little lights and all the signs with old actors on the walls. It was also cool to see how steaks were prepared over an open fire on the swivel grill. We were thrilled. Dear “Das Ding” team, you have gained new regular customers.

The ambience is exceptional and the service is very nice. But the special thing is that the steak is grilled directly in the restaurant on an open fire. Our rump steak was on point and everything else was delicious too. We'd love to come back

Food has decreased significantly

I would also give 7 stars if I could... very tasty and above all plentiful food... our dog got water immediately and without being asked, really nice staff and a cozy atmosphere...

We've been going to the thing for at least 35 years. We now live on Lake Constance, but use every visit home as a side trip. Nowhere else can you find this delicious steak served over the fireplace. And the freshly baked bread with the 2 sauces, two kinds of coleslaw and the very best quark on a baked potato. Our children have also become thing-goers, and every new partner has to go there!

The food was delicious as usual and when the weather is nice you can sit outside on the retro clothesline chairs. 😉

That was really NOTHING! Seven different dishes and none of them were really good. The location is also very old and absolutely kitschy. A pity!

First of all, the positive: The service was super friendly and quick! Now about the food: Burger: Unfortunately it was nothing. As if from a delivery service, the burger is sold as a side-by-side product. Tk patty, sauces from the supermarket, cheap rolls. Ribs - Okay BUT... well not more than okay. Meat tough, fatty and unfortunately far from top. Starter: One was completely forgotten and the mozzarella sticks that are listed as “extra long” on the menu were about 10cm long three times?! If anything, they were also supermarket goods and far from being “extra long” - I’m going to stop myself from making a comment about the length of things here :D The steak was good! Dear "Das Ding" team, when you go out to eat, you want food that you can't/don't want to make at home. That means you want something tasty. The burgers in particular were an absolute disgrace. That was really nothing and unfortunately we will neither be coming back nor can we recommend the store. Sorry

The menu offers something for everyone. The food is delicious and rich. The service is friendly and attentive. There is also an open swivel grill, outdoor seating and a winter garden. Simply cozy 👍

The steaks are marinated, which I don't like when I go out for extra steak. The starters come from the freezer. The service was more bad than good. The ambience is not good at all, cluttered and styleless. The prices, however, were way too high, we were really shocked. For two people over a hundred euros, card payment didn't work... Absolutely not recommended

We've been there several times, but today the quality of the food wasn't that convincing, the ribs were dry, felt like they had been sitting for a long time, some were black, and the fries were also between fresh and light to dark and hard, but I didn't think they cost €18.80 justified. A PITY

I only go there once a year because I have to drive an hour for it and I want it to remain something special It's been 22 years now and I love the open grill, the American decoration and especially the meat with a unique taste. I also look forward to the side dishes and the bread before the meal every time.🥰

A disaster for vegetarians...(for colleagues who eat meat and that's why you're there, it's great) The “extra long” mozzarella sticks were just like those in the supermarket with a bit of salad for €8.10…. Great... Service and ambience are quite good.

The service is nice, but seems a bit unprofessional. You really have to like the atmosphere. It's a mix of the USA and grandma's pub. The food is average at best. The steak is grilled directly over the fire, but everyone can cook meat like this on the grill at home. The price just doesn't fit. The best thing was the bread with the dip and that's telling

I came here based on a recommendation and I have to say that I was disappointed. The first thing that shocked me was the plastic tablecloths. It may be easy to clean, but it has something of a camping feel about it. The meat is semi-good and not appropriate for the prices. The ambience is exceptional and a matter of taste. I usually eat the third mix, very good portion size and always deliciously seasoned and fresh. The chef's salad is very large and always fresh and delicious. Special requests are no problem, the staff is very nice. Overall, a really good steakhouse. It's just a shame that they stopped the delivery service. But whether on site or collection, everything is great.

We went there for a burger yesterday. Unfortunately the burgers were like in a cheap snack bar. Cheapest convinience products. I had the bacon and cheeseburger. A small slice of bacon and not even real cheese, just slices of processed cheese, plus a ready-made burger sauce that tasted like curry. It's fine if I order it in a snack bar, but not for €14.90, which is really overpriced for the quality. Then I'd rather spend a few euros more and get homemade patties, brioche rolls, real cheese, red wine onions, etc. The half liter of beer for €5.50 was unfortunately not cold and had almost no carbon dioxide, the glass wasn't full either, which unfortunately matched the overall impression. We won't be coming back.

It's a really nice shop with very good service. The food, however, was relatively standard and nothing special. Unfortunately the meat was a bit dry and the sauce wasn't enough. I imagined something different there.

This thing is a smaller restaurant with super delicious food. Only the decoration takes some getting used to. The service employee brings the card. This is clear and there is a selection of meat dishes and burgers plus side dishes. My choice is baked potatoes and a steak mix. Before the actual meal there is a basket of warm bread and two dips. The bread is very tasty. Personally, I like the red dip better. The food came and the side dish a blink of an eye later. The highlight is the steaks are prepared over an open fire. I then added a small bowl of herb butter. I thought that was good. The food was super tasty. Very good steaks and plenty of coleslaw. Put the potato in a separate bowl with plenty of curd. You were very full after eating. Payment was also completely uncomplicated. The prices are reasonable for a steak. I can only recommend this restaurant. However, it makes sense to reserve a table here.

Unfortunately I have to say that the service is super bad. This is the second time this has happened that after 45 minutes no one came to take the order. After half an hour I went to the counter and asked when we could order. 15 minutes later still no one came. We went today then. It's a real shame because the food is really delicious. But not even getting anything to drink after 45 minutes is not possible. Even if the restaurant is full. Unfortunately they are very disappointed.

75 minutes waiting time for the mediocre food, despite a reservation. Drink on the bill that never arrived. Service was very bad and there was no discount on the bill. “Das Ding” is off my restaurant list for now. Bad performance

Unfortunately a bit disappointing. The “steak sauce” was more of a ready-made dip and the meat was only semi-sweet. Furnishings are a matter of taste, but something different.

Very bizarre place - worth the visit! The barbecue sauce for the spare ribs was incredibly unique and delicious. I'd love to come back!

Nice staff, burgers and club sandwiches unfortunately earned a maximum of 2 points, burger patty only earned 1 point, there is still a lot of room for improvement, TK patty? I was expecting a fresh patty in a grill restaurant.... Sauce on the burger doesn't go with it either.....

Hello community, here I am writing about one of my favorite restaurants. I have already recommended it to many friends and acquaintances. The ambience is pleasantly playfully decorated. In the summer you like to sit outside there. But especially in autumn and winter, the best way to enjoy the ambience is close to the open beech wood swivel grill and watch the chefs prepare something. The warm homemade bread is served in advance with the steak sauces and invites you to snack. As a pickup you can also order “out of home”. When I'm there, it's often a long evening. A frequent “must have” for me. A frequently visited location for me, no matter what time of year.

A truly excellent meal straight from the grill. Very well prepared, to the point, super nice staff and very well attended. I can only recommend. Have fun and enjoy eating.

Huge portions, but my ribs were served without a marinade or sauce, there was only a pot of a kind of "spiced ketchup" (probably more for the fries than for the ribs). In the evening hours there are hardly any parking spaces around the thing.

I used to like going there. Nice atmosphere in a half-timbered house. Specializes in grilled pork schnitzels.

We've been in the thing off and on for 30 years. Unfortunately the food has deteriorated over the last 3 years. But the meat itself is no longer what it used to be. It's far dry. Unfortunately, because we haven't eaten anything comparable for years and never thought that we would one day be looking for an alternative to the thing.

Essen?Krass lecker!Preise?Absolut human,berechtigt,nicht überteuert.Kommen wir wieder?Auf jeden Fall. Man muss definitiv reservieren. Zahlung geht nur mit ecKarte und bar.Keine Kreditkarte.

Sehr schade,dass der Lieferdienst nun eingestellt wurde und ich jetzt, nach mehr als 50 Jahren Stammkunde,auf die leckeren Steaks verzichten muss.Der Weg ins Restaurant ist leider keine Option mehr für mich.

Sehr schönes kleines Lokal. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Ganz tolle Atmosphäre und liebevoll dekoriert. Wenn es nicht so weit weg wäre würden wir öfter kommen.

Das Fleisch war zart und die Saucen waren lecker aber sie Krautsalate, die dazu serviert wurden, waren lieblos zubereitet und ungewürzt. Es war aber sowieso so viel davon vorhanden, dass wir trotz hungriger Mägen und Zurückhaltung bei der Bestellung gar nicht alles aufessen konnten - für Vielesser also sehr zu empfehlen. Statt American Apple Pie bekommt man in diesem „amerikanischen“ Restaurant Apfelstrudel. Die völlig übertriebene Deko im Restaurant, die vage an Vorgärten mit Gartenzwergen erinnert, war uns einfach zu viel und konnte auch nicht davon ablenken, dass sich das Gefühl amerikanisches Essen serviert zu bekommen nicht so richtig einstellen wollte. Trotz der frühzeitigen Reservierung mit dem ausdrücklichen Wunsch in einer ruhigen Ecke sitzen zu dürfen, wurden wir direkt am Durchgang in einem sehr lauten Teil des Restaurants platziert, durften und aber zum Glück einen anderen Platz aussuchen. Insgesamt kann ich dieses Restaurant für Menschen mit einem gesteigerten Ruhebedürfnis nicht empfehlen.

Freundlicher Service, Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ok, Speisen und Getränke lecker. Das Ambiente ist Geschmacksache, könnte aber nach gefühlt 50 Jahren eine Auffrischung vertragen.

Sehr lecker sind spontan hingefahren und haben einen Platz für zwei Personen bekommen
