I've been a regular customer for ages. First on Goethestrasse and now on Wöhlerstrasse. In fact, even after all this time, you can still rely on the same, excellent quality. 😋 The steaks, the burgers, and the potatoes are delicious, but the herb quark cream is simply the best for me. (I hope to get the recipe someday ;)) I recommend simply eating your way through the entire menu. The team is very good, the service always friendly and competent. The location is very cozy; in the summer, we also enjoy sitting in the garden.

I think if you're a big meat fan, you should definitely check out this steakhouse. The steaks and burgers are not only delicious, but also of excellent quality. The only criticism is that there isn't enough space at times to really enjoy a comfortable meal (it's at the very back of the restaurant).

Visually, it's a great restaurant, both inside and out, where you feel at home. The service was very good, and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, the salad wasn't fresh and had noticeable brown spots around the edges. It's suspected that it wasn't freshly cut, but came from a bag. Some of the side dishes and starters also rely on convenience products. This is very unfortunate and diminishes the quality of the food.

I've known this restaurant since the 1970s. I hadn't been there for a while until last week. The pork steak "Das Ding" doesn't taste as good anymore. There was way too much paprika powder on it, which overpowered the actual flavor. What a shame! Things used to taste better.

Five stars, and there's a reason for that. First, the building, with its beer garden, is very well-maintained from the outside. Inside, the impression continues in style, with a very unique touch. Angie's service impresses with genuine friendliness, assistance with any questions that arise, and expertise. The menu is clearly structured and demonstrates that a business idea has become a successful model. After ordering with Angie, a man quietly approaches the grill who knows exactly what he's doing. With calmness and poise, coupled with enormous expertise, every piece of meat is cooked to perfection. It's Kajen, the grill master from Sri Lanka, a true magician on the grill. No matter how many orders are in, he remains calm, keeps an overview, and always has an open ear and time for guests' photo requests. The quality and flavor of the meat speaks for itself and is a true culinary delight. I did find one drawback, though: the restaurant is unfortunately 56 km from where I live... We were served much too late; other guests who arrived after us got their food earlier. It felt like the waiters (two of them) were overwhelmed by the small number of customers. But it was okay. About the food: My roast beef was seasoned with paprika and was very hard to chew. My wife's ribs tasted similar, also oddly seasoned, and my daughter's chicken wings were from the freezer. We've never eaten such bad meat. Charging such prices for this quality is, of course, ridiculous.

The restaurant itself seems very friendly and well-designed. It reminds me of the old days, when people would go out to eat with their grandma or relatives. But now we had another very bad experience. We waited over an hour for our food, and on top of that, they brought us the wrong food. And as if that wasn't enough, only two of the seven meals were delivered, and the others only arrived after 10 minutes. On top of that, the side dishes were completely forgotten. The service was uppity, very poor, and unfriendly. The meat was basically just seasoned with smoked paprika; nothing else. I would have preferred that the meat not be seasoned at all, and that, if the meat was good quality, you could simply season it with salt and pepper, but even that wasn't offered to us. No salt at the table, no pepper at the table, no ketchup. We had to serve ourselves. Very, very bad compared to the old days, when things weren't so uppity.

Unique meat, juicy and aromatic, cooked over an open fire. Excellent bread, warm, with an original pesto. A truly unique selling point! Sometimes you sit a bit too dark, and the red wax tablecloths are rather uncharming. Outside, however, there's a lovely, cool beer garden. We were there again today: The pork fillet is superb! Juicy, tender, lean, and smoky.

Simple, good food. The meat was really flavorful, the bread was fresh, and the green sauce went very well with the bread. The meat is grilled over an open fire. The aroma alone makes your mouth water. There's comfortable seating both inside and outside in a peaceful setting. The staff is very friendly. The only minor issue...the plastic covers inside. But that's just my personal taste. Otherwise, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys well-seasoned meat.

Finally, a restaurant visit where everything was just right: food, service, and the beautiful terrace. I've known "Das Ding" since the 1980s. Even though we don't live directly in Hanover anymore, we're happy to make the drive. It's always worth it! If only for the unbeatable herb quark with the baked potato. A "secret recipe" even back then 😉 And it's a good thing that the ambiance has hardly changed at all, so it remains quaint and unique!

The food IN the restaurant was delicious, cooked to perfection, and really well prepared. But out of the restaurant, it was the complete opposite: mozzarella sticks were quite short instead of extra long, and the dip was missing. Nuggets could have come from Mecces, and wedges were overcooked. Mushrooms in a cream sauce tasted like ready-made powder. No information about gluten was available. The value for money out of the restaurant was absolutely terrible. If it weren't so far, we would have brought it back. It's a disgrace to then charge the same price as in the restaurant.

All in all, a great stay. The prices are a bit higher, but you get very good quality. The service and ambiance are excellent. Only the side dishes could be improved. I wish they were more creative there. Not every steak goes well with white and red cabbage. Be a bit more creative and dare to try something a bit more. The bread for the starter is good, but even then, it tastes too bland for a restaurant like this, which offers such a variety of meat dishes.

Today I was in the restaurant again after many years. The grilled meat tasted just as good as before. What I find absolutely impossible these days is that no credit cards are accepted. Unfortunately, this information is incorrectly displayed on Google Maps. We also repeatedly observed difficulties in assigning guests to their tables in terms of payment. Numbers or any other unique characters are simply missing here. I would like to highlight the service staff: we were served quickly and attentively.

Unfortunately, ready-made patties with glitter decorations on the burgers are no longer up to date, and the plastic tablecloth no longer really fits in with the times. So there were 4 of us in Das Ding. 2 had The Third Thing. And to be honest, 30 euros for it without any side dishes is outrageous 🤨. A little paprika powder on it and you're done. Everything tasted the same and I was super disappointed 😞. It didn't taste fresh at all. The service was very nice and the ambience was OK. But unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right here at all. I get a lot more for my money elsewhere.

We were here for dinner. A small menu, but delicious food; quality instead of mass. The food came quickly and the meat was super tasty. The salad with it was crunchy and the fries were crispy. The waitresses were attentive and on point. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. In summer you can also sit outside on the terrace. I can recommend it without batting an eyelid!

Sunday, late afternoon. Hunger, desire for food in Hanover. Craving steak from an open fire. “DAS DING”, the selected location. Already very well attended. Hardly any free places. Met a charming, friendly employee at reception and was given a free table. Rump steak chosen. The best meat, grilled to perfection, as well as sauces and other side dishes can be enjoyed in a rustic atmosphere. That was worth it. That was a thing. Therefore, 5 stars for a particularly good piece of traditional Lister gastronomy.

I've known "Das Ding" since my childhood, back then it was still on Goethestr. I was impressed by the food back then and still am. The pork steaks, the warm bread, the herb quark and the coleslaw are simply delicious, the service is always good. The only thing that doesn't really excite me is the decoration in the restaurant, but it doesn't matter, I go there to eat and not to look.

The store has a lot of tradition and actually has potential, the diner theme with a swivel grill promises a lot. The burger is all the more disappointing: Instead of a fresh flame-grilled patty, there is a frozen patty from the wholesaler. Appearance, texture and taste approx. Pressed cardboard. Fries and coleslaw are delicious, but that doesn't help with the patty. In addition: Children's portion of fries is charged more expensive than adult fries on the menu - unfair.

Wow! The thing, a steak house with a difference. American cuisine, American interior. Open fire on the grill, a wide selection of burgers, steaks and of course the classic spare ribs with fries. I recommend the spare ribs. The mozzarella sticks are also delicious as a starter. But you don't actually need it because the portion of spare ribs is more than filling. Finger licking! The waiters are very nice and friendly and open to culinary questions. The food comes without a long wait. The drinks at the front too. And looking at the interesting interior decoration shortens the waiting time. The toilet facilities are clean and well maintained. Car parking can be found in the nearby area. A great restaurant. I can only recommend it.

Weeks ago I ordered a table for 4 people for our annual meeting and, despite many free tables, I received the last cat table, not really suitable and far too narrow for 4 portly adults. After we asked for a different table, the waitress offered us an even narrower table, no people, that's not ok. The food was always delicious, but you also want to feel good, which unfortunately dampened our mood. Why do I order a table weeks in advance? In the past, coleslaw was not “lined” with lettuce leaves, and prices were higher again.

There is something for everyone, super delicious grilled specialties on the open grill but everything else, especially the ribs, are worth a sin. Price-performance ratio is great, super friendly, super nice, always happy.

It was very full, so you should make a reservation, at least on the weekend, I can't judge during the week. Food was great, everything was great in terms of quantity, quality and price.

The burgers aren't that great. Steaks are cooked perfectly to perfection, no matter what cooking level you want, but unfortunately they are far too spicy and the spicy seasoning is not mentioned on the menu. Service and friendliness couldn't be better. The open flame in the dining room on which the meat is cooked is an experience.

Service was good except for a small oversight when ordering. The ambience seems a bit wildly put together. A special highlight was the grill above the fireplace. Unfortunately the burger was just ok. That was due to the frozen meat and the ready-made sauce. This can be done better with little effort.
