The food was quite good, and the service was very friendly! For my taste, the wait to take my drink order was a bit too long, and the food was cleared away too quickly, even though they did ask if it was okay to clear my plate while I was still chewing the last bite. Nevertheless, I'd be happy to come back!

I've known "Das Ding" since my childhood, back then it was still on Goethestr. I was impressed by the food back then and still am. The pork steaks, the warm bread, the herb quark and the coleslaw are simply delicious, the service is always good. The only thing that doesn't really excite me is the decoration in the restaurant, but it doesn't matter, I go there to eat and not to look.

Super great restaurant, steak was great, the salad was amazing The service was the best 👍🏻 Unfortunately it was already 2 years ago when I happened to be there but I had to google it to find the restaurant and didn't know what it was called 😂 but the steaks on an open flame from the grill in the middle of the room are unmistakable.

It's a recommendation! But you have to like the charm. It's more rustic.

After 20 years I was back in my old homeland and had dinner in the thing again 😋😋😋 I immediately felt at home again and the food and service were great. Everything as usual 👍👍

The store has a lot of tradition and actually has potential, the diner theme with a swivel grill promises a lot. The burger is all the more disappointing: Instead of a fresh flame-grilled patty, there is a frozen patty from the wholesaler. Appearance, texture and taste approx. Pressed cardboard. Fries and coleslaw are delicious, but that doesn't help with the patty. In addition: Children's portion of fries is charged more expensive than adult fries on the menu - unfair.

Unfortunately, the ribs weren't as I imagined them, they didn't fall off the bone as you would expect. Otherwise everything was good.

Wow! The thing, a steak house with a difference. American cuisine, American interior. Open fire on the grill, a wide selection of burgers, steaks and of course the classic spare ribs with fries. I recommend the spare ribs. The mozzarella sticks are also delicious as a starter. But you don't actually need it because the portion of spare ribs is more than filling. Finger licking! The waiters are very nice and friendly and open to culinary questions. The food comes without a long wait. The drinks at the front too. And looking at the interesting interior decoration shortens the waiting time. The toilet facilities are clean and well maintained. Car parking can be found in the nearby area. A great restaurant. I can only recommend it.

I've been eating my steak here for over 40 years, which is cooked over an open fire on a swivel grill. I haven't noticed any fluctuations in quality so far.

Very tasty, the meat had the desired cooking point and a great taste thanks to the beech wood. Plus freshly baked bread, dips, herb quark and salads. I can only recommend the restaurant.

I've been coming here for about 20 years and have never been disappointed, if meat is in Hanover, then here, the mix of thirds is my clear recommendation, the green sauce and the quark are a poem, no man needs more, kind regards to Tessi from Sven.

I've been coming here for years, a regular destination when I'm in town for a two-day seminar, and I've spent many lovely social evenings here, especially with groups. The grilled food has a pleasantly smoky aroma from the open fire, which can be seen from many places. The menu hasn't changed in years, and that's a good thing. Highly recommended ☺️👌

In fact, today for the first time we were not satisfied with the otherwise always very nice and friendly service staff. Weeks ago I ordered a table for 4 people for our annual meeting and, despite many free tables, I received the last cat table, not really suitable and far too narrow for 4 portly adults. After we asked for a different table, the waitress offered us an even narrower table, no people, that's not ok. The food was always delicious, but you also want to feel good, which unfortunately dampened our mood. Why do I order a table weeks in advance? In the past, coleslaw was not “lined” with lettuce leaves, and prices were higher again.

Mega tasty no matter what you order! And unique. A place by the fireplace with a swivel grill is romantic and warm. The decoration is also incomparable.

The steak was super tasty and the salad was great. First there was fresh bread with two different dips. Simply 😋 😋 😋 I'm already looking forward to my next visit. But you should reserve a table. Unfortunately there is a shortage of parking spaces.

The barbecue seasoning is a little sweet, and the flavor of spices can also be tasted. It is more to my liking, and it is very cost-effective. The Brotkorb in Vorspeise can be eaten by two or three people, and the dipping sauce is very fragrant. A perfect pairing for drinking.

There is something for everyone, super delicious grilled specialties on the open grill but everything else, especially the ribs, are worth a sin. Price-performance ratio is great, super friendly, super nice, always happy.

It was very full, so you should make a reservation, at least on the weekend, I can't judge during the week. Food was great, everything was great in terms of quantity, quality and price.

The burgers aren't that great. Steaks are cooked perfectly to perfection, no matter what cooking level you want, but unfortunately they are far too spicy and the spicy seasoning is not mentioned on the menu. Service and friendliness couldn't be better. The open flame in the dining room on which the meat is cooked is an experience.

Service was good except for a small oversight when ordering. The ambience seems a bit wildly put together. A special highlight was the grill above the fireplace. Unfortunately the burger was just ok. That was due to the frozen meat and the ready-made sauce. This can be done better with little effort.

Spent a lovely evening at “Das Ding” with a good dozen friends. Since I had already eaten dinner, I just ordered a drink, which wasn't a problem at all. The staff was extremely friendly and not a single one of my friends had anything to complain about the food. Gladly again.

Super cozy, great food, we had the famous bread basket with 2 dips, crispy onion rings, mozzarella sticks. Everything really good and lush. This is how the main course continued. The portion of spare rips can just about be managed after the starter mix. The classic pork steak or the wonderful mixed plate are also great. Large portion, served with a lot of friendliness and at a good price, so: walk in

We were here in a large group. The waitresses were very friendly and quick. The food was great. We had spare ribs and steak. Large portions and not too expensive. Clear recommendation to anyone who likes to eat meat.

The food is very tasty and watching the grill master grill is exceptionally exciting. We had a person in a wheelchair with us, which we had announced when making the reservation. This meant we had no problems at all and were able to get into the restaurant through the back entrance. The staff was very friendly! We will certainly come back.

Were there on Christmas Day. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. It is not recommended from the dishes at Christmas. But a great alternative to normal food. Prices are reasonable and completely fine

One of my favorite restaurants. Steaks from an open beech fire. Homemade house quark is also highly recommended.

The meat (rump steak) was really good. Medium as desired. The employees were talking about canceling a burnt rump steak. That's why I told the waiter again that I would like the rump steak medium. The lady immediately passed on the request and was barked at, saying that if the customer didn't say anything the rump steak would automatically come medium rare. The meat was perfect, I'll go there again! However, such discussions should be held in the background. The obviously new employee only fulfilled my wish, she didn't do anything wrong.

The atmosphere is a bit kitschy, but quaint. The meat is of very good quality, although the smoke flavors, which probably come from the spices, are not my thing.

The places are sometimes very narrow, We had to get another seat, 4 people. We complained about the portion size of two dishes because they didn't correspond to the gross weight, but we were given more meat without complaining. Everything tasted good and the service was very attentive.

For me it is the best steakhouse in Hanover. The meat is prepared over an open fire and the baked potato with dip or the breads and dips are simply unbeatable. I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.

Always super tasty. The meat there is always tender and well seasoned. The sourcream is still the best you can get. Been happy with everything.

Nice restaurant in a rustic atmosphere. Food usually comes to the table very quickly and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have the feeling that the quality varies between really good and quite good, but always tasty and fresh. I've never had any reason to complain and whenever I'm in Hanover I stop by at least once.

I've known this steakhouse since the late 80s and was last there 5 years ago. I'm just thrilled, the food was so delicious, just as I remembered it. The service was absolutely top, super accommodating and super friendly. We really enjoyed our time today in the great atmosphere. A really big thank you to the whole team👏👌. The steaks from the swivel grill, the side salad and the warm farmhouse bread: everything is just as delicious as it was 40 years ago. Always a highlight for me and all my relatives.

If you want to enjoy a really good burger with a crispy salad, Das Ding is just the thing! We were absolutely thrilled with the food. The service staff were super friendly, very personable and quick. The ambience is a matter of taste, but I thought it was nice with all the little lights and all the signs with old actors on the walls. It was also cool to see how steaks were prepared over an open fire on the swivel grill. We were thrilled. Dear “Das Ding” team, you have gained new regular customers.

The ambience is exceptional and the service is very nice. But the special thing is that the steak is grilled directly in the restaurant on an open fire. Our rump steak was on point and everything else was delicious too. We'd love to come back

We've been going to the thing for at least 35 years. We now live on Lake Constance, but use every visit home as a side trip. Nowhere else can you find this delicious steak served over the fireplace. And the freshly baked bread with the 2 sauces, two kinds of coleslaw and the very best quark on a baked potato. Our children have also become thing-goers, and every new partner has to go there!

The food was delicious as usual and when the weather is nice you can sit outside on the retro clothesline chairs. 😉

That was really NOTHING! Seven different dishes and none of them were really good. The location is also very old and absolutely kitschy. A pity!

Very rustic, but the boss takes care of that. Unique service, great food and great prices. I will gladly come again
