Restaurant Athos in Schwanewede

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very comfortable with 6 people Nevertheless, new staff should be better trained, when asked whether there were no rolls with the starter, the answer was that they would have to be ordered separately...which later turned out to be (of course) wrong. But everyone was very friendly, attentive and tried hard. Since we come from out of town, we won't be regular guests, but we'll definitely be back!

We were at the restaurant for the Christmas party and had pre-ordered. We sat in a side room with an adjoining storage room (?). When we arrived the door was open. We sat at long tables with a small gap between 2 tables. Employees regularly squeeze through to go to the storage room. Some of the food was mixed up, written down incorrectly and forgotten. Several people had to wait for their food. Reordered fries were no longer served and there was no ouzo on the house, as I usually find in Greek restaurants. The portion sizes were very manageable for the price. The service staff rarely came to see if we would like something more to drink. Everything seemed a bit chaotic and unstructured. Too bad

Decent portions and deliciously prepared, but no credit cards accepted for payment (only EC). Very embarrassing when you want to invite people to eat and then can't pay like at any other restaurant. ~1-2% fees shouldn't really matter and should simply be seen as part of the operational costs.

Very pleasant restaurant with extremely fast service. The rack of lamb is highly recommended! The meat is very tender and the rice is very tasty.

The food is good but unfortunately the portions have become significantly smaller. You won't feel full without an appetizer. Even the side salad is saved.

Cold food and beer prices are incorrectly declared. Surcharge for 0.1 Kräusen beer from 0.3 to 0.4 l 2.20. The card says 0.5. Unapologetic.

We had a very great evening with excellent food. The gyro was super tender and not gristly or greasy at all. It was really very good! The steak and souvlaki were equally good. We'll be back!

Very tasty food and very attentive staff

A very special Greek experience When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a really nice atmosphere. The ambience is tasteful, you can tell that someone has put effort into it - at least when it comes to furnishing it. The meat? Yes, that was actually good. But that’s it for the highlights. Now to the real adventure: the service, led by the boss herself, who apparently has her own interpretation of "hospitality". I had the audacity to order a single rump steak (without any side dishes!) alongside my lamb fillet. Sounds easy? Not here! The boss immediately explained to me that this wasn't possible because - be careful - they are two different dishes. Interesting logic, I thought, and tried to explain what I wanted again. No problem, she said, but then I would have to pay for both dishes. Well, that was absolutely fine for me, but being so inflexible with such a small request was something new. At the end I got – surprise! – two complete dishes, including side dishes. Fantastic! Half went straight into the bin because who needs that much food? Sustainability definitely doesn't seem to be on the menu here. As if that wasn't enough: the boss decided that her employees should also know who is in charge. Preferably across the room, loudly and in a way that made every guest feel like they were part of a family feud. If this were a play, I might have enjoyed the performance, but in a restaurant... well. About the food itself: The starter “118. Feta Special” was more of a “feta soup”. Apparently every store does this fundamentally differently, but my idea was certainly different. The baguette? Well, I think a freshly baked baguette also has its charm - if you're a fan of frozen goods. And the farmer's salad...let's just say, crunchy vegetables were probably sold out. Conclusion: If you are looking for good meat in a beautiful environment and want to experience a live performance at the same time, this is the right place for you. For everyone else: There are certainly better options.

Food was good. The service doesn't work at all. Especially the female service manager. At least that's what she thinks. Forgot the ouzo and salad. The time between the starter and the main course is far too short. Atmosphere too hectic. Has nothing to do with cozy Greek flair.

We decided to try out the Athos restaurant and cheat on our resident Greek 😅 We ordered the food to be picked up. We were able to pick up the food within 20 minutes and the lady on the phone was very friendly. As far as the starters were concerned, the price-performance ratio was rather sobering… In terms of taste, the starters were quite “okay”, the quantity was moderate and manageable, since they are starters, but I have to say that the estimated price was too high for what you got in the end. The main courses were good… not outstanding but good and enjoyable in any case. As a result, I wouldn't order takeaway there again. I can't judge what it's like on site and most likely it won't happen that quickly based on the experiences I've had.

Abholung: 2x Zaziki bestellt und bezahlt. Es nur 1x in der Tüte enthalten. Das Essen war nicht mehr warm, obwohl zu 18.00 bestllt war und wir pünktlich um 18.00 da waren. Wenn es warm hewesen wäre, hätte das Essen aber ganz gut geschmeckt. Der Inhaber ist unfreundlich und wirkt genervt von den Kunden. Wir gehen dann doch lieber woanders hin.

After a very long time, an old friend allowed us to enjoy Chris's fantastic Greek food again. We know the kitchen from the 90s. The food was super tasty, all requests (saganaki with honey 😋) were met with extra tzatziki, and a sample of the resinous wine was promptly received. Many thanks to the entire team for the culinary journey. Be sure to reserve.

The ambience is like that of almost all Greek restaurants. What matters to me is the food. I like it better than anywhere else in Schwanewede. Parking is available and free for guests. I like eating there, whether alone, friends, family, etc.

Food, service good. What was upsetting was that we ordered a table for 4 people (outside) and upon arrival we were told it was better not to sit outside. They had just sprayed against bugs. So sat inside. 1/2 hour later the outside area was completely occupied. Guess the reservation went completely wrong. We could have been told that. But what happened is not about deducting a star.

Real Greek restaurant with a terrace. Very good parking situation. Food with consistently good quality. Very nice staff. Lots of regulars - and that's always a good sign.

We always eat here with our friends. It tastes good! The tzatziki and the garlic sauce are recommended. 👍

Eten was lekker maar personeel niet erg vriendelijk.Bij binnenkomst onvriendelijk naar een plek gedelegeerd. Afrekenen was een drama om ze geen nl pasje accepteren. Moeten pinnen in de buurt.

Hello, This used to be our favorite Greek place but after our last visit we were so disappointed. We were there with 8 people and were placed in a next room that wasn't well lit The food came quickly, but a few of us had plates with chipped edges. Something like that doesn't look good and isn't appetizing, the food used to be much better. It's a shame Athos that you've slacked off so much. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get this under control again.

Visually different from other typical Greek restaurants, Athos offers fast and friendly service. The food was very good, except for the liver, which was completely covered in tendons (you can't get into it). One of the few recommended Greek restaurants.

I would like to give at least 10 stars if it were possible... we come from the catering industry ourselves... I don't know where to start with what exactly... but I know one thing for sure that the 50km journey is more than worth it EVERY time.. Quality and taste is unbeatable... Sorry but the truth probably hurts some people a lot... but we are honest and look forward to our next visit...

The food was very tasty! The waiters/waiters were very nice and friendly, even though they were very busy. I was there on Valentine's Day around 7:30 p.m.

Our regular Greek since the 90s (back then on Mühlenstrasse). Unfortunately, portion sizes and price are no longer in a good relationship. The plates are now narrow and square. Even cheap things like coleslaw and tzatziki have shrunk significantly and the latter has become outrageously expensive. Unfortunately I wasn't full and paid €95 for 3 people (1 drink each).

More stars is not possible. We, my friend Ulla and I, were very satisfied. It can become a regular venue after our seniors' cinema once a month in Schwanewede. Even with the family, there are beautiful smaller rooms inside that are nicely furnished. The ambience is very tasteful and so was the food. We'd love to come back. In summer the terrace outside is also attractive. We're looking forward to that too. It's nice that there is the Athos in Schwanewede for us. ❤️🫶❤️

Mega tasty and really nice staff

Atmosphäre war ungemütlich, Essen war gut, Tzatziki zum Essen extra bestellen für 5,50 Euro, Getränke zu teuer, Service war unaufmerksam, schade,bin enttäuscht.

Wir hatten 4x Gyros bestellt. Schmeckte leider sehr nach Hähnchenfleisch. Auch wenn uns versichert wurde es sei Schwein. Wie dem auch sei geschmeckt hat es trotzdem nicht. Dazu gab es 2 Löffel Reis und eine Metaxasauce bei der zumindest die Farbe treffend war. Immerhin hat das Bier geschmeckt.

Man kann es dem Deutschen Gast gar nicht verdenken, dass er vier oder fünf Sterne gibt. Er kennt es nicht anderes und im Vergleich zu den anderen Restaurants hier im Ort, ist Athos tatsächlich eine gute Küche. Ansonsten gibt es hier Griechisches Essen auf Deutsche Art. Das ist günstige Lebensmittel, trockenes Fleisch und dafür relativ hohe Preise. In dieser Stadt fehlt echte Konkurrenz.

Ich bin begeistert von der Qualität des Essens! Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen griechischen Restaurants war das Fleisch zart, saftig und nicht überwürzt. Die Leber ein Traum! Das Gyros mit wenig fettigen Anteilen und das Lammkotelett auch gut. So macht griechisches Essen große Freude. Meine Empfehlung!

Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Das Essen war durchschnittlich lecker, die Beilagen (Tsatziki) und die Getränke waren völlig überteuert . Leider hatten wir keinen gemütlichen Abend, da die Chefin permanent ihre Angestellten vor den Gästen kritisiert hat. Das Personal lief leider unstrukturiert durch den Laden, dadurch war eine ruhige, nette Atmosphäre nicht gegeben. Schade!!!!

Wir hatten Essen für zu Hause bestellt. Das Essen war pünktlich fertig, es war sehr lecker. Völlig ausreichende Portionen. Preis geht vollkommen in Ordnung. Gerne wieder.

Schon zum 2. Mal, dass wir mitbekommen, dass der Chef öffentlich seine Angestellten runterputzt. Geht garnicht. Giros war dieses Mal hart und trocken.

Leider entsprach unser heutiger Besuch nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Nachdem ich angemerkt habe, dass das Preis- Leistung-Verhältnis bzgl.des überbackenen Fetas in der Vergangenheit besser war, haben wir unsere Servicekraft nicht wieder gesehen. Nach über 1 Stunde ohne Getränke wurden wir nach weiteren Wünschen gefragt, die wir dann verneinten. Und dass Kartenzahlung erst ab 20 Euro möglich ist, sollte im Vorfeld kommuniziert werden bzw.irgendwo ausgewiesen sein. Schade.

Das Essen war gut ,schmackhaft .Die Kartoffelscheiben hätten knuspriger sein können .Die Calamares waren lecker.Wurde leider nicht gefragt welche Größe mein Alster werden soll,so bekam ich ein großes welches ich nicht austrinken konnte,schade! Die Servicekraft war sonst sehr freundlich und flott. Schade,das der Kinder Spielplatz in einem jämmerlichen Zustand ist. Das macht leider keinen guten Eindruck und lässt das Gesamtbild negativer erscheinen.

Ich war das erste mal mit meiner Firma dort gewesen. Wir hatten einen separaten Raum und konnten so ungezwungen Stimmung machen :) Das Ambiente hat mir gut gefallen der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam und der Chef lustig und freundlich! Ich komme gerne wieder

Eigentlich war es ein sehr angenehmer Abend. Leider wurde ich bei der Bezahlung so sehr unter zeitlichen Druck gesetzt das ich meine Pin Nummer vergessen habe. Das war sehr unangenehm und das ist mir noch in keinem anderen Restaurant passiert. Sorry, ein peinlicher Vorfall.

Nettes freundliches Personal, Bestellungen werden schnell ausgeliefert, Getränke werden zügig gebracht und die Aufmerksamkeit vom Personal führt dazu daß immer Getränke vorhanden sind. Alles in allen fühlt man sich hier wohl und kann entspannt seine Speisen genießen und den Abend mit einen Wein ausklingen lassen.

Schönes Restaurant mit gemütlicher Terrasse. Bedienung ist schnell und freundlich und auch der Inhaber ist der geborene Gastgeber. Essen ist top, würde nur die Menge an Kartoffeln bemängeln, die bei Fischgerichten als Beilage serviert wird. Wir waren mehrfach dort und jedes Mal lagen dem Fisch nur vier Kartoffelscheiben bei.

Ich bin eigentlich weniger Fan von griechischem Essen. Doch ich war sehr begeistert vom Essen. Ich hatte die 26 mit Pommes, am Fleisch hat rein gar nichts gefehlt, hätte gerne nochmal einen Teller bestellt 😂 Ambiente super, toll ausgestattet und mit dem Außenbereich absolut empfehlenswert. Euch empfehle ich gerne weiter!

Aperitif warmer Ouzo, Bifteki mit minimal Schafskäse - andere verlaufende Käsesorte und Tomaten gefüllt🤔- 1 Kugel Saziki 5.50€ ??? Jetzt beim 2 . Besuch wieder keinen Beleg bekommen!??? Beim Nachrechnen zu Hause, Differenz zu unseren Ungunsten. Bedienung sehr nett und freundlich. Für uns gibt es kein Wiederkommen

Lange nicht mehr so gutes und leckeres griechisches Essen gehabt. Wir waren zu fünft und hatten drei verschiedene Fleischgerichte, einen Salat und ein mal mit Käse überbackenes Giros. Und was soll ich sagen: alles sehr schmackhaft. Giros knackig, nur sehr wenig Fett. Biftekti (wäre hier gefüllt, daher sind es eher Köfte), hier "Kefte" genannt, und der Reis mmmmhhh. Vor allem die Souvlaki ... nicht so dünn und tot gebraten. Zart und auf den Punkt gegrillt. Service war sehr freundlich, aber nicht künstlich, hatte das an einem Dienstag-Abend gut besuchte Restaurant absolut im Griff. Essen war relativ schnell da. Wenn man wirklich suchen möchte, dann vielleicht, dass der "Terrassenbereich" immer mal erweitert wurde, also nicht ganz so einheitlich und damit gemütlich wirkt. Aber das ist vielleicht auch der guten Essens- und Service-Qualität geschuldet, dass man versucht, möglich viel draußen anzubieten. Wir waren aus der Bremer Innenstadt zu Besuch in Schwanewede. Wir kommen definitiv wieder, vielleicht auch mal nur deswegen.

Wie ein Tag Urlaub in Griechenland

Meeeega!! Sehr freundlich empfangen und zum Platz gebracht worden, höfliche Bedienung- bzw, mehrere, fabeltastisch auf das Kind (11) eingegangen, wir kommen wieder!!

Restaurant Athos in Schwanewede. Wie immer gutes Essen. Giros, Sulflaki, Bifteki alles in guter Qualität. Bedienung nett und freundlich. Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt, die Laute Musik. Ob man die zählen kann?

Sehr hübsch gemachtes Restaurant, mit Wohlfühlambiente. Die Bedienung war auch sehr schnell und auch sehr nett. Das Essen hat wirklich gut geschmeckt, allerdings fand ich Portion/Preis Verhältnis nicht so gut wie bei anderen. Wir kommen aber trotzdem gerne wieder.

Sind ein paar mal da gewesen oder haben Essen abgeholt. Immer dabei: eine Vorspeisenplatte. Diese wurde allerdings von mal zu mal kleiner. Ausserdem zu Gyros oder Souflaki und auch anderen Gerichten kein Zaziki,bzw muss extra bestellt werden für lockere 5 50€ . Kenne ich von keinem anderen griechischen Restaurant. Es schmeckt zwar alles aber wir werden uns trotzdem umorientieren .

Wir waren am Mittwoch das erste mal hier. Ein tolles Ambiente, das Essen ein Traum (der Tzaziki ein muss). Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Abend. Der Chef es Hauses macht ein sehr sympathischen und gepflegten Eindruck. Wir sehen uns auf jeden Fall nochmal :).

Ich habe für die Familie einige leckere Gerichte außer Haus bestellt. Das Essen war sehr schnell fertig und die Portionen waren sehr großzügig. Es hat alles außerordentlich gut geschmeckt und wir würden jederzeit wieder bestellen. Die Bedienung ist unglaublich freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Es lief alles sehr reibungslos und vor allem KONTAKTLOS ab. Wir freuen uns, wenn wir bald wieder vor Ort essen können.
