I can only give it a shower of stars! If you want to eat truly delicious food, this is the place to be. And the lovely atmosphere with pictures and decor from Greece completes a wonderful restaurant visit.

We've been going there every now and then for years. It's always delicious, and the portions are generous. Even the little ones are well catered for. And of course, we can't forget the wine, which has a fantastic selection. We've never had any complaints; it's simply excellent.

For me, this is the best restaurant in town – incredibly delicious food and super friendly service. An absolute insider tip: the Epirus plate. 😉 Great value for money. If you haven't been here, you're missing out!

Simply unbelievably delicious. The oven-roasted lamb (with eggplant or green beans) is so delicious and juicy (probably because they serve a lamb shank) that it's unparalleled among Greek restaurants, and the service is excellent! Highly recommended.

They responded to our requests in a flexible and customer-oriented manner. Although the restaurant was busy, our group of 13 was served at the same time. By chance, we stumbled upon Athis while looking for a good restaurant. And we found a really good one. The service – super friendly, fast service, and the food super delicious – we haven't had such a good gyro in ages, if ever, and even the other bad ones were fantastic. If we're ever in the area again, we'll gladly go back.

Very tasty. I've rarely eaten so well in recent times. Today was the second time in a long time. I had pork fillet in a spicy sauce and scalloped potatoes. They usually come with fries, but for €2, you get a whole panful. Treat yourself, they're so delicious. And the prices here aren't as exorbitant as at other restaurants: €20.50 + €2 for a huge pan with spicy sauce and 3 buttery pork fillet salads, 1 ouzo on the house, and 1 small wine on the house. A truly great price. Other restaurants seem to have the same experience. The place is always full, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. If you offer good service and don't rip people off, it will always be full, and they'll also earn a good living. They deserve it. The best Greek restaurant I know.

Delicious food! The staff accommodated my requests. Due to my wheat intolerance, they served green beans instead of rice and fries (at no extra charge). The food was prepared quickly and beautifully presented. The price is reasonable for what you get...I'll be back!

I've rarely had such delicious Greek food in Berlin as I did here! The restaurant was very busy, and the waitress was world-class! We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and offered a glass of ouzo. The gentleman behind the counter was also very accommodating, and the Athenian plate with a special request (more gyros and the AMAZING fried potatoes with garlic) was a dream... I'll definitely be back.

We stopped here specifically because of the many reviews. The restaurant is accessed via 21 steps; there's no elevator, but that's just a side note. Saturday lunchtime, not very busy. We received a very friendly welcome. We were also able to choose our own seating. After ordering, the drinks and side salad arrived very quickly. The main course (No. 66 Corfu Plate) was freshly prepared, so there was a bit of a wait, but that's completely reasonable. The taste was very delicious. The meat was crispy but tender, and the portions were very generous. All in all, we were very satisfied. We'll definitely be back.

I met some former colleagues here for dinner. The service was very friendly. Ouzo was served before and after each meal. I ordered gyros with garlic potatoes and tzatziki. It was the best of its kind I've ever had. Simply perfect. I'm always happy to come back!

We apparently had a bad day yesterday. All the food was very greasy, the fried potatoes were drenched in garlic oil, and the rest of the dishes were also swimming in oil. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all. The service wasn't particularly friendly either, so we probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

Four of us recently dined at this restaurant. Despite the full house, we received a very friendly welcome and were given our menus quickly. As a nice gesture, we were offered a small aperitif beforehand. The drinks were served promptly after ordering, and we didn't have to wait long for the dishes either. The portions were very generous and, as we've come to expect from this restaurant, extremely delicious. The garlic flavor in my dish was a bit too overpowering, however, which I pointed out to the waiter. To my great surprise, they even completely forgave me for my main course – I've never experienced such hospitality and goodwill! After dinner, we also received a nightcap "on the house." Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening with attentive service, great food, and exceptionally courteous customer service. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

We come here often, the food is always of good quality and you never have to wait long. The ambience is very nice and authentically Greek. The owner and the staff are very competent and nice.

Since the restaurant was unfortunately full, we spontaneously ordered takeaway. This was really tasty, the meat was juicy and spicy despite being picked up and the service was extremely nice and courteous.

Really great service! Friendly and accommodating. We had to wait for our food (it tasted very good) and were compensated for the wait with a cold ouzo. The store was packed to capacity and everyone seemed extremely happy. Gladly again! The gyro was very juicy.

We were there in the evenings between the years with six people. The restaurant is full to capacity. We would receive friendly and quick service. To our surprise, the starters arrived after a short time, followed by the main courses. Anything but normal for this number of guests. The staff is consistently friendly, knows how to have fun, and enjoys gastronomy. My mixed fish platter was good, the rice was tasty. On my next visit, I'll test the grill plate to see how well the chef achieves the various cooking points. This is where the wheat is separated from the chaff. Thanks for the lovely evening, we'll be back.

The food was cold, soaked in oil and I got a stomach ache while eating. The restaurant was completely overcrowded. That many people aren't allowed in there. Even the service has problems getting through. The people who were there in large groups were crammed together at too few tables, no space to cut with cutlery. If you then want to get up, 8 more people have to get up to let you out. The service was quick and good, the store was full and people came with reservations and had to wait until they were allowed to sit down. Unfortunately only for profit. Too bad about the money. It was exactly the same a year ago and hopefully Grandpa will celebrate somewhere else next year

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is incredibly delicious, you can't find these fried potatoes anywhere else. The staff is super nice and friendly, you feel very welcome.

The ambience is very pleasant in the pedestrian zone and appears slightly rustic. The service is usually very friendly and you get food quickly and always good.

We recently had a very bad experience, which is why we probably won't come back to the restaurant for a while. They probably didn't want to serve us that day, we are understanding people, it's too busy today, we can't take your order, that would have been enough for us. Instead, they tried to find excuses so that we could cancel on our own initiative. Secondly, it was about intolerances to a dish, the request for a change is always possible, except for this one service, if people react like that if they have allergies, it is very negligent. All in all very disappointing and as I said you won't be there again anytime soon.

The garlic potatoes are great. The ambience is a bit old but otherwise 5 out of 5.

We were looking for a nice restaurant in the area and ended up at this Greek place. The restaurant is in the pedestrian zone and there are few parking spaces. It is also located on the first floor without an elevator, so it is not barrier-free. The interior is functional but not very comfortable in my opinion due to the many tables. The menu is typical Greek. Quite good in terms of price/performance ratio. However, the meat, whether gyros, bifteki, souvlaki or even the lamb, was pretty well done. A few minutes less on the grill and it would have been much better. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. My tip: Don't use garlic potatoes because they are very, very garlicky and their taste will overwhelm everything else you have on your plate.

Went there to eat spontaneously yesterday and were unfortunately very disappointed in the end. I chose the restaurant on Google because of the good reviews, but I personally don't understand them. Overall I didn't like the atmosphere. From my seat I could see directly into the kitchen through the serving window, which wasn't very appealing. The staff was friendly, but the waitress's clothing reminded me more of a craftsman than a restaurant waitress, which was very irritating. The food itself wasn't that great and way too expensive. Ate the same menu at another Greek restaurant near Gießen, super tasty 😋...so I was very disappointed. The pre-served salad was also very simple, the dressing wasn't homemade, and overall it seemed unloving. You could eat it, let's say hunger drove it down... My companion was given a stale cola and my non-alcoholic shandy from the bottle was served to me unprofessionally, so that I had more foam in my glass than beer. I interpret the enthusiasm in some positive reviews about the welcome Uzo and the farewell liqueur in a completely different way: the Uzo serves as preparation for the poor quality food and the farewell liqueur is intended to appease you again. Conclusion: once and never again!!!!

Moussaka was very tasty. Bifteki was a bit too dry, so you had to order some tzatziki with it. Otherwise it was okay. Taste good.

Great restaurant, greeted by the owner with a friendly smile, great service and, just as importantly, extremely tasty. The atmospheric interior, decor and music make you feel like you are in Greece. I can imagine how wonderful it can be in the middle of summer in the outdoor, equally atmospheric part of the restaurant. I will definitely come back there during my travels through Germany.

Food and service top! The entrance area with smoking facilities is not ideal, but you shouldn't let that put you off!

We've managed to eat there once so far because we were there at 5 p.m. Unfortunately, I have never been able to reach anyone by phone, no matter when and how often I called to reserve a table. The food was great, but it's a shame if you can never make a reservation because no one answers the phone. In this case, you should only offer online appointments and switch off the telephone. The restaurant and the guest then benefit from this

Restaurant Athos is in the pedestrian zone in Frankenberg. The food is very diverse and has a large selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. The staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. A table reservation is recommended. There are parking spaces nearby and the restaurant is in the middle of the pedestrian zone. Paying by card is possible.

Still great as it has been for many years. Whether to take away or enjoy directly on site.

I had a gyro pan with Metaxa sauce, unfortunately the sauce was very stiff and the meat had little taste and was very hard. The fries were a bit lame and there were a few fries that had probably been in the deep fryer more often.

Very inconspicuous from the outside but very tasty, friendly and attentive staff, great value for money. Highly recommended

Ate here on January 2, 2024. Excellent food, lots of choice, nice portions and delicious salads. Three stars for the service and atmosphere, because I found the service a bit less. It was busy and apparently there weren't many staff this evening; the lady who served our group of six people had to sigh a lot when our drinks order did not go smoothly enough. Fortunately, she came around when the worst of the commotion was over. Excellent value for money. Although I didn't see it myself, I later discovered that Athos has a large terrace at the back of the restaurant; so let's try it again this summer.

The staff on Saturday evening seemed a bit stressed to us, friendly is different! A vegetarian dish here has the same amount as an appetizer, so there's no chance of filling you up! Baked food is served in a lasagna dish, with a handful of fries on a large plate - a small bowl would also do the trick. Consequence: crowded table. The food comes very quickly, which can be seen as a positive, but also like being processed in a fast food restaurant. Criticizing staff is not a good thing! The positive: The food tastes good!

Recommend most definitely! It is suitable for family outing as well as a romantic dinner date. Authentic Greek in the middle of Germany. The lamb is a must try! We ordered a few different dishes with lamb, and each was to die for. For dessert, we had galaktoboureko, which is a custard dessert baked in phillo dough. It was served quite warm, with vanilla ice cream, and the combination was divine. It was super well prepared, and not doughy at all, which they can be sometimes. As a bonus, for adults, they offer complimentary Ouzo to start, and a dessert liqueur similar to mastiha. For kids, they have lollipops. Service was super friendly. Menus are automatically given in German, so if you need a menu in English, you need to ask for one.

Service ist sehr verwirrt essen jetzt zum zweiten mal eine Katastrophe, Gyros war total verbrannt Aussage der Bedienung die Gäste wünschen es hier so. Essen wurde komplett berechnet obwohl es ungenießbar war und über die Hälfte zurück ging. Beim nächsten Besuch soll ich bescheid sagen das ich mein Gyros nicht verbrannt mag. Humor haben sie dort.

Beim Bummel durch die Fußgängerzone zufällig dieses tolle Restaurant gefunden. Schönes Ambient, sehr nette sympathische Bedienung. Gegessen hatten wir die Nr. 53: Gyros mit Knoblauchkartoffeln. Ein Gedicht, Bratkartoffeln mit viel Knoblauch. Wurde jedoch von dem Gyros übertroffen. Dieses war schön knusprig, aber absolut saftig. Für uns das beste Gyros, was wir bisher gegessen haben! Große Portion, so dass leider viele Knoblauchkartoffel zugunsten von dem Gyros auf dem Teller liegen blieben. Liebe Küche bitte nicht böse sein, aber das Gyros war so lecker und mehr als essen können wir leider nicht

Essen richtig lecker und preiswert. Service war sehr freundlich und bemüht trotz starker stoßzeit. Auf den Ouzo hätte ich verzichten können aber das ist wohl Geschmackssache und gehört beim Griechen mit dazu. :D Alles in allem top.

Ai, ai ai, in een Grieks restaurant verwacht je toch wel griekse smaken. Geeneens een griekse salade erbij. De tomaten soep was een zoute bouillon die geen tomaat in zich had. Tijdens het bestellen werd gezegd dat we moesten opschieten omdat ze een uur later dicht gingen. Lekker welkom gevoel...

Tolles Ambiente, Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Toiletten sauber, das Essen war sehr gut, es kam auch schnell. Das war nicht das letzte mal 😊👍

Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Die Qualität unseres Essens war nicht wirklich top. Frittierte Scampi ohne jegliche Gewürze. Sie waren fast nicht zu schälen. Das Ambiente ist schön und die Lage in der Fußgängerzone gut zu erreichen. Ein wenig an der Qualität arbeiten dann ist alles paletti.

Wenn man von 3 Tagen Urlaub, 2x in demselben Restaurant essen geht, muss das was heißen! Es ist einfach der beste Grieche am Edersee. Das Essen schmeckt super, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unschlagbar. Der Service ist toll - alles ist freundlich und familiär. Also wer am Edersee Urlaub macht, muss dort (mind. einmal ;)) essen gehen. :-)

Ein griechisches Restaurant wie man es sich vorstellt. Nettes und zuvor kommendes Personal das weiß was es macht. Die Portionen sind wirklich groß! Als Vorspeise habe ich Feta bestellt und als Hauptspeise die Fleischplatte. Es war mehr als ausreichend. Die Qualität des essens ist super!
