We ordered food for pickup and were absolutely thrilled. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the prices were really reasonable. This certainly won't be our last meal at Athena. Update from October 14, 2023: We ate there today. Simply amazing and delicious. A huge compliment to the team. The restaurant was fully booked, but the service was still very friendly and attentive to each and every guest. I'll definitely be back.

We returned to the Athena after a long time, and the welcome was very warm. The food and service are unbeatable. This is what you imagine good food in Greece to be. Very authentic.

During our last visit, we discovered that the Athena had become a dog restaurant. There were three dogs present. One was a fairly large dog, who still lay quite obediently under his owner's table. Thankfully, he didn't shake himself. He was a very long-haired animal. The other two were small dogs, who were placed on the empty chairs next to their owners, peeping over the table with their snouts while being fed. This is completely unacceptable. The owner tolerated this. I don't understand dog owners. Why do you have to bring a dog into a restaurant? I don't think it's particularly animal-friendly. Conclusion: This restaurant is off-limits for those allergic to dog hair. We will not be returning to this restaurant, which we had previously enjoyed very much. "We" are a group of nine people.

Delicious food and good service

The food is classic Greek and good. Service is very pleasant and friendly. The decor, especially in the restroom area, is showing its age.

From the outside, the place looks like a small snack bar, but inside, you're in a truly traditional, high-quality restaurant. Excellent food, excellent staff—nothing to complain about. Always happy to return.

I've eaten here several times, and I have to say, every time it's been simply wonderful. You're greeted with a friendly smile and shown to your table. After you've ordered, you're quickly served a generously filled drink with a fresh salad. You also get a delicious ouzo to warm you up and whet your appetite. I highly recommend the Hercules plate; it's fantastic value for money, and it tastes phenomenal every time. There's more than enough parking, the restrooms are very clean, and it's also very easy to get there. All in all, a fantastic restaurant!

The best Greek restaurant in Mülheim/Ruhr-D, if not in Pott. The price/performance ratio simply cannot be beat. The best steaks (always on point), the best Greek dishes and above all there s best staff. If anyone wants to go out for a really good meal and go home full and satisfied, then please come to Athena. I can't say anything more about it.

Authentic and delicious! The Athena Restaurant is a true pearl of Greek cuisine! The dishes are fresh, authentic and incredibly delicious – especially the moussaka and seafood. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere cozy. I will definitely come back and can only recommend it!

Ich bin seit ca. 25 Jahren Kunde. Ich glaube, das ist schon aussagefähig genug. Auch ist das Restaurant immer gut besucht. Gerade am WE ist ist sinnvoll zu reservieren. Auch das sagt viel über das Essen und die Freundlichkeit aus. Die Qualität des Essens ist überragend. Und das bei günstigsten Preisen. Wenn ich richtig gut griechisch Essen gehen möchte, fahre ich immer dorthin. Ich wohne in Essen, aber die Fahrt lohnt sich. Immer. Anderslautende Aussagen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Ich vermute, da hat die Konkurrenz ein Wörtchen mitgeredet.

The entire team is very friendly, helpful, attentive and accommodating! The dishes are a great pleasure and very attractively prepared. If we attend an event in Mühlheim again, we will definitely visit this restaurant again.

An all-round successful evening. The food - we had different fillets - was absolutely great. Tender meat, perfect cooking point & delicious sauces. The prices are also very cheap compared to other grill restaurants in Mülheim. The service was as always, warm and attentive. On weekends you have to reserve a table. Please keep it up!

Yes... what can I say... I can only agree with all the good reviews. There were five of us and we had an excellent meal. It's very difficult to find a favorite here. Even though we didn't make a reservation, we were served promptly. I would just like to give the readers of this review a note: it is better to reserve a table, even during the week, if you want to come with several people.

Spontaneously went to the Greek restaurant, was warmly welcomed by the boss and immediately given a table. The restaurant is popular, so it's better to reserve in advance. My Mykonos plate was terrific, the tzatziki was delicious, plus some draft beers 😋. I can highly recommend dining here 👌🏼

In itself a very nice and tasty restaurant. Only the service left something to be desired. The waiter was talking to a table about personal matters and even hand signals were skillfully ignored. I then ordered it myself from the edition. That was a real shame.

We wanted to order our food to be picked up by phone, after 3 attempts the phone was picked up and put aside without saying anything. I waited there hoping to be served, after 8 minutes they hung up without comment. My repeated call was accepted, unfortunately no more food will be accepted today when asked! When I was confronted with the scenario mentioned above and that I had been trying to order food for over 30 minutes, they just laughed and said: “What should I do” and hung up again. #ServicewüsteGermany brilliant way of dealing with its customers

Super leckeres griechisches Essen. Nettes und modernes Ambiente. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Wir gehen regel-/ unregelmäßig dort hin. Wir wohnen in Essen und es sind 20 Minuten Weg-aber das ist es IMMER wert.

Ein sehr freundlicher Gastronom mit tollem Essen. Haben das Restaurant kurz vor Weihnachten kennengelernt und waren seit dem jetzt schon 3 oder 4 mal da. Service top, der Wirt und der Kellner merken sich Name und nehmen sich bei ruhiger Lage auch Zeit. Alles im allem gibt es nichts zu meckern, die Toiletten könnten vielleicht mal modernsiert werden, aber ansonsten....

Wir gehen schon seit langer Zeit im Athena essen und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Das überbackene Gyros z.b. ist super lecker ...manchmal muss man länger warten wenn es sehr voll ist.. ich denke das ist woanders dann aber auch so...

Ein erstklassiger Grieche, die Küche ist authentisch. Super leckeres Essen, perfekter Service mit einem tollen Preis- Leistung Verhältnis. Mit Abstand der beste Grieche den ich je besucht habe. Unbedingt das Saganaki essen, total lecker und nicht mit ner Panade zugedeckt. Ganz klare 5 Sterne Bewertung. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 😉

Ein Super Restaurant. Wir waren zum ersten mal da. Sonderwünsche waren kein Problem, wir wurden sogar noch nett von dem Kellner Dimi beraten. Eine Familiäre Atmosphäre und mega leckeres Essen.Wir kommen auf jeden fall wieder.

Sehr voll, Servicekräfte sehr freundlich und bemüht. Schade das die Speisekarte antialkholischen Getränk nur in 0,2 l gibt. Mir wäre ein 0,5l lieber. Essen war gut.

War letztes Wochenende das erste Mal im Athena beim Abendessen. Von der Begrüßung bis zum Service war ich sehr zufrieden. Mein größtes Problem war dann die Speisekarte. Es gibt nichts, was es nicht gibt. Die Auswahl ist überragend. Was die Qualität der Speisen angeht: Alles super. Ich hatte zwei Vorspeisen und eine gemischte Platte. Vom Feinsten. Das Fleisch war super zubereitet. Nicht trocken und auch nicht wie oft zu fett. Auch preislich absolut fair. Mein Fazit: Das war nicht der letzte Besuch. Ohne Reservierung bekommt man nur ganz schlecht einen Tisch. Also rechtzeitig reservieren!!!

Sehr kalt im Restaurant. Essen durchschnittlich, übergart (Fleisch) Stammkunden werden scheinbar eher bedient, kommen 15 Minuten nach einem haben aber direkt Service und auch zügig Ihr Essen.

Ein nettes griechisches Restaurant mit gutem Service und leckerem Essen. Filetsteak für 20€ kann kein Filet sein, das Fleisch war gut aber von der Form her kein Rinderfilet. Wie waren nach langem mal wieder dort. Das Restaurant war voll besetzt und das Team überfordert. Es dauerte alles sehr lange. Preis Leistung war in Ordnung.

Das Essen ist top! Geschmacklich sehr lecker und die Portionen sind üppig. Am Service kann noch gearbeitet werden.

Ein sehr gepflegtes Lokal,sehr nettes Ambiente. Man wurde sofort begrüßt und zu seinem Tisch gebracht. Nach kurzer Zeit kam die Speisekarte und wir konnten unseren Getränkewunsch sagen. Das Lokal war gut besucht,gut dass wir einen Tisch reserviert hatten. Wir haben ca. eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet, aber es war super lecker und heiß. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis passt, sehr gute Portion und der Preis passt auch. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, die immer noch mal nachfragte, ob es noch etwas sein darf,aber nicht aufdringlich. Sehr gutes Essen,freundliche Bedienug, gute Preise und trotz Corona sehr sauber und getrennte Sitzplätze. Werden immer wieder gern dort essen gehen!
