Discovered by chance. Food was super tasty, service was great! Can be recommended 100 percent. Rarely eaten so well. We would be happy to come back. Simply great!

Wir waren spätabends an einem Samstagabend nach langer Zeit wieder hier. Wir wurden prompt bedient. Die Kellner sind nett und freundlich. Vor dem Hauptgang bekamen wir 2 Ouzos und bei der Bezahlung ebenfalls. Wir haben eine Grill-Platte bestellt. Diese war sehr gut zubereitet und bot sehr viel Auswahl an. Alles war richtig heiß und frisch zubereitet. Vorab gab es die Salat-Platte. Dazu haben wir uns noch eine Portion Zaziki bestellt, die uns hier auch sehr lecker schmeckt. Für uns immer noch einer der besten Griechen im Ruhrgebiet. Vielen Dank für die Bewirtung und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Unfortunately, the first Greek who doesn't give tzatziki with the grill plate so he can charge 6 euros extra for it. Food wasn't that great either

The restaurant is in the middle of the city of Essen and easy to find. Indoors there are only plastic flowers. The order was received quickly. The salad was served before the drinks, so it couldn't have been freshly made. I had the moussaka, it was lukewarm and the potatoes were undercooked. My husband had gyros, which weren't really hot and were cut very small. When we complained we just shrugged our shoulders.

The plastic tablecloths don't fit there.

Greek restaurant located in the city center. The food was mediocre but the gyros were one of the worst I've ever eaten. The starters didn't blow us away either. The interior design has seen better days, for example the bench had obvious burn holes and the indirect lighting had the charm of the 80s. Comfortable is different. With the exception of one waiter, everyone seemed a bit annoyed, short and unfriendly. The time until the first order takes forever and the repeat orders weren't any better either. I don't know whether there is usually an ouzo on the house like many other Greeks, but we definitely didn't get anything even though we were there with 8 people. It was worth a try, but there definitely won't be a second time because, in my opinion, there are much better Greek restaurants in Essen than Artemis.

We were in Essen for 2 days, I was looking for a Greek restaurant, I found it and I have to say it was super tasty and the service was very friendly. If we come here again, I know where to find good Greek food. Thanks. PS: Portions are large and fill you up 😃 Keep it up 😃

Good prices, nice staff, lukewarm food, little sauce and long waiting times

There were three of us eating there and we got a seat right away, even though it was already full. You didn't have to wait long for a waiter either. The ouzo came with the drink order - for the ladies as a cocktail (very tasty) - I only know that with us afterwards. The food was tasty and plentiful, so as a guest you don't need to worry about the price/performance ratio. I had the farmer's plate with gyros, souvlaki, liver and a lamb chop, and even had to have it wrapped up. The meat was on point and from the grill, small drawback you had to order the tzatziki separately - I would have liked to have had that with the gyros, unfortunately it was on the skewer a little too long. But we had a very nice evening with delicious food and friendly staff. Thanks.

There were three of us, two adults and one child. However, this is not the first time. We go there very often, whether with friends or as a couple. The service is great and the food is also great, whether gyros, schnitzel for the children or the salads. There is an ouzo first and a side salad with the main courses. We feel very at home there, would come back at any time and can only be recommended.

Went there for lunch yesterday. Friendly reception and friendly service. We chose our delicious meal from the lunch menu. Drinks were well chilled, food was fresh and served hot. And always friendly and accommodating. We always enjoy coming here from time to time and seeing familiar faces. We would be happy to come back.

The best Greek Restaurant I've been to in Western Europe. I went with my friend after work and forgot about the tiredness of the whole week. The kindness of the owner and the waiters, and the freshness and taste of the food are priceless. I highly recommend it to everyone coming to Essen.

Visited here on my own on a Friday night for a solitary dinner, no reservation and they kindly gave me a nice table. Really busy kitchen and waiting staff, great food, proper enjoyable German Greek. Booked for the whole team on Saturday and everyone really enjoyed. Rare to find these days, a nice variety of "jug wines". Thanks for two nice evenings!

Very good Greek restaurant that we chose after a long and active day in Essen. Spontaneous stops are possible and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We were then assigned a table in the beautiful interior area. After ordering drinks, which was made promptly, we then chose the food. My dish, Metaxa plate, was also very tasty and beautifully presented. We had a lovely evening and saved the restaurant to our personal hard drive.

We had an appointment for dinner with a group of about 10 people. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance and escorted to our table. The restaurant was already busy at this time. There were several waiters on duty who were also busy, but unfortunately not at our table. For some reason I couldn't explain, we waited a full 20 minutes until our drink order was taken. It took another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive and of course the obligatory ouzo on the house didn't come, although other tables that were occupied at the same time got one... well, mistakes happen. We were only able to place the order for the food after speaking to several waiters. The food finally arrived 1 1/2 hours later. This was mediocre and nothing special (I know better Greek restaurants). According to the menu, my dish came with an ouzo. I had to request this from the staff, otherwise I wouldn't have received it to this day. All in all, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was OK. But we weren't really satisfied due to the extremely long waiting times...

We went to Artemis today... The ambience seems a bit old-fashioned, but it's just okay, but some snack bars are nicer, so it's time!!! The staff is friendly, but you get the impression that you want to get rid of guests quickly for new guests, because it wasn't possible to enjoy the food as quickly as the courses were served (the main course arrived during the starter). The portions were generous (as advertised by the Restaurant) we didn't notice anything. Gyros fit in the palm of your hand and the liver was sliced ​​so thinly (yes, that's just the calculation). Oh well, the salad as a side dish was of the cheap kind. Thank you very much, but we won't be back stay with our regular Greek snack bar!!!

Der Service war eher mittelmäßig, nach Getränkewünschen wurde nur wenig bis gar nicht gefragt. Das Essen kam schnell aber leider nur lauwarm am Tisch an. Geschmacklich war es nichts besonderes, die Tomatensuppe vermutlich aus der Dose. Portionen auch eher klein. Preislich aber ok. Wir werden leider nicht wieder kommen.

We love this place. We have been here several times. whenever we are in Essen we visit here for a nice dinner. The food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable. This is a special Greek restaurant. The staff, service and food are fantastic and have been for at least 15 years. This time we drove to Essen specifically to eat there again. In our case, that means taking a 500 km detour..... from Spain to the Netherlands.

Good and plentiful food at fair prices. Original Greek dishes are represented as well as “Germanized” ones with fries.

We were at Artemis for the second time on Saturday. Although it was quite full, the service was still very good and the food came to the table quickly. The portions were all a decent size and everything was very tasty!

This is a Greek restaurant just as you would expect it to be in Germany. For some the decor is a bit kitschy, for others it's romantic. Either way, the decor is a little dated, but everything is well kept and clean. We received a friendly welcome and were served quickly and attentively by several staff members. The food was very good, i.e. the meat was well grilled and juicy. That's how it should be! The price-quality ratio is excellent and the location in the city center is simply ideal, as the restaurant is so easy to get to.

Disappointing. My husband went there as a child and in the 15 years we've known each other we've been there more often. Like yesterday. In a group of four. Unfortunately, I wanted a Zenthauren plate (gyros and suvlaki) with a hit of tzatziki. Especially since there are also dishes with tzatziki on the menu. However, that wasn't possible. The boss doesn't want that. Other guests want this too and the kitchen gets messed up. Aha. The boss was sitting in the restaurant, but didn't really feel responsible for helping his employee and clarifying the situation. However, we are welcome to order a starter of tzatziki for €5.30 (...). Actually we should have left. Out of necessity, I ordered the appetizer. Gyros are too dry for me without them. I also got the plate of tzatziki and it is also on the bill as a complete starter for €5.30 - but I didn't get the bread that the other two had with their "real" tzatziki starter... The steak My husband wasn't as great as usual either. It's a shame, but if you can't fulfill such simple customer requests, it's no longer worth visiting.

Unsightly! A restaurant that is unable to pack a punch of tzatziki onto a main course does not deserve a good rating! It's unbelievable that a waitress says that the boss doesn't want that and that we could order another portion of tzatziki for 5.30 (we already had 2 as a starter). If we had known this beforehand we would have simply left a little left. Four of us ordered starters, drinks and main courses. The bill was just under €150. And then the house is not in a position to add tzatziki to the food, which we would certainly have paid for with a reasonable amount! Maybe I'm pretending a little, but in my opinion that's not possible. I didn't want any checkered lilies of the valley ;-) The boss doesn't want that, then other guests might get the idea and "it will mess up the kitchen." were the things we were allowed to listen to. I had the waiter say a nice greeting to the boss, but he couldn't get off his ass and instead sat in the middle of the restaurant and didn't make any moves. I would have liked to talk to him. Actually, we should have left the restaurant immediately. The food itself was ok so far. The rump steak, which is why I was happy to go there, was a bit of a letdown yesterday. The grill plate, on the other hand, was very neat. In the future we will look for another alternative. Service 0 points, even if the service was otherwise really friendly. You could also see that he was very sorry to have to say this.

Wir waren zunächst bei der großen Auswahl an Speisen sehr skeptisch, dass es gut schmecken würde. Das Essen war gut. Vor allem die Lammkoteletts waren frisch und lecker zubereitet. Ein solides Restaurant mit einer guten Auswahl an typischen griechischen Gerichten. Service war freundlich.
