Stopped in spontaneously last night without a reservation. Very friendly, warm welcome and service. Good and varied Greek and also typical German dishes on the menu. Food was absolutely top and very tasty 😋. Price/performance simply put 👍👍👍👍👍.... It is also possible to order and pick up food by phone. Beautiful and sensible alternative to the classic delivery services of other standard providers. Summary......Will definitely come back.....🙂

A long-established restaurant. Family and friendly. We were here on Boxing Day and our second time visiting. You immediately notice that it is visited by many satisfied regular guests who are warmly welcomed and served. Just as we were greeted and served in a very friendly and courteous manner. The order begins with the drink, followed by the food order. The food is served in a really big enough portion with good quality. In my opinion, the price and performance ratio is perfect. And it's better to be served a portion that fills you up and from which nothing has to be thrown away, than to have masses of food end up on your plate that, in the worst case, won't be eaten and will probably end up in the trash. Quality over quantity. It takes a reasonable amount of time from ordering to serving. (Price per person refers to starter plus main course and drinks.) It is important to know that the restaurant does not have its own parking spaces due to its location. So you may have to walk a few meters because you don't always have the opportunity to park right in front of the door. If you live in the area, you can definitely get there on foot, as some regulars who live in the neighborhood probably do. In any case, we would love to come back!

We really enjoy eating there. We just feel comfortable there. Very good food and cheap. The staff and Vangelies are great.

The decor is reminiscent of the 80s. Unfortunately, the restaurant is relatively narrow, so you can easily hear the conversations of the neighboring tables. Unfortunately the food is below average. The fries are thin and unsalted, the portion of rice is as small as an expresso cup and the meat dishes taste bland, the gyros in particular have unfortunately always had soggy, greasy spots. The salad comes separately on a plate as a starter, unfortunately that too has no positives Special features, not even a dressing is available. The price is very cheap. The staff is friendly and you get a free ouzo as a welcome.

I felt comfortable in the restaurant and the waitresses were very friendly. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the food. I had the gyro plate Aphrodite - the salad was little as was the rice among the fries, which were not salted and the meat was unfortunately very fatty. Maybe dry other dishes are better - I would personally advise against this one.

Everything's great, I should just go there.

Four of us arrived unexpectedly around 8:15 p.m. on Monday 4 weeks ago - after half a day of moving. Everything in the front room was occupied. We were greeted very friendly and asked to wait a bit. After about 5-8 minutes we had a table. Delicious food (gyros, mixed plates, lamb crowns and grilled plates, as well as 1 starter). It really tasted very good, plentiful and good price. Very attentive petsonal.

Clean, nice restaurant with a nice ambience. Service was good, as was the food. My main course could have been a little more generous in terms of portion, but it was okay and tasty. Small drawback that you should pay attention to... the prices on the menu are great, but they are also stated without fairytale tax. That's why I ended up with almost €6 more on the receipt than expected. All in all, a nice visit. You'll be happy to come back.

Went there for the first time today. The grill plate was very tasty. The fries didn't taste that good and seemed cheap. Otherwise everything is good

We have been regular guests there for many years. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice. Unfortunately, the portions are getting smaller and smaller, the pepperoni is now missing from the salad, there is no longer any parsley in the side dishes and today there was no ouzo before the meal - otherwise always the standard! It's a shame, but apparently times aren't getting any easier for restaurants like this.

Catastrophe I was there because of the reviews??? That has to be a fake. Totally high quality going on there. Starter of grape leaves with minced meat. Mince still frozen in the middle. Stuff served in the microwave. Great 🔨 and there was hollandaise sauce with that??? A it doesn't go well with grape leaves at all b something like that has no place at all with the Greek. The main course is loveless, tasteless and 0 quality.. To be honest... every mmes stall has more steel. That has nothing to do with a restaurant. zero. half a grill plate and leave half a turkey schnitzel...I'm really wondering 4 star review who seriously gave this one???

We have been here several times to eat. The food is very tasty and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The last time we sat in the winter garden. Unfortunately, this doesn't fit with the rest of the impression and urgently needs renovation. Likewise, the hallway and the stairs to the toilet and the winter garden leave a lot to be desired.

Price performance... top. Service...very friendly...here you are a guest. Meal for 3 people (baked gyros, steak and fillet plate + drinks) Any time.

Great authentic Greek restaurant. All meats were on point, juicy and not too dry. A really great tzatziki with super delicious bread. And all at really good prices. We are in love and will definitely be back!

I was in the restaurant today with my father. I can't say anything negative about the service. Friendly family business. Unfortunately the quality of the food was subpar. We can't understand why there are so many positive reviews here. We all know Greek ones Restaurants in the south of Essen but unfortunately that was absolutely not possible.. not recommended.. Every chip shop is significantly better.. Sorry.. Ambience also a disaster.. Stopped in the 80s...

At Aphrodite I recommend the very tasty “Soúvla Féta” (pork fillet stuffed with feta cheese on a skewer). If you have an appetite for Greek meat dishes, this is the place to eat. Nice service and suitable ambience included. Attached is a picture of the dish we ordered.

Zeer goed en heel betaalbaar. Gezellige zaak met vlotte bediening. Eten was prima, niet te zout en ruime porties. Alles prima in orde tot de toiletten toe, deze waren erg schoon.

Toller Abend mit gutem Wein und super leckeren Essen. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Preis ist günstig.

Von außen etwas unscheinbar. Wir haben aber sehr lecker gegessen mit viel Gemüse, frischem Salat und gutem Fisch. Alles zum fairen Preis.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, waren erst mit telefonischer Vorankündigung etwa eine Stunde vor Geschäftsschluss da, zum Glück hatte die Küche noch geöffnet! Das Essen war schnell und frisch zubereitet, die die Fleisch Portionen üppig und lecker gewürzt! Getränkepreise erstaunlich günstig im Vergleich zu manch anderen. Einzige Mankos: Pommes Portion war so klein, dass ich nach bestellt habe. Bei den günstigen Preisen aber kein großes Manko, dafür waren die sehr lecker! Und die Metaxa Soße könnte was kräftiger sein. Wir würden wieder hin gehen, Aphrodite ist sehr zu empfehlen! Die Parkplätze in der Gegend sind aber sehr rar, ich empfehle eine Anreise mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen dort. Bemerkenswert war, dass der Kellner wusste, wer was bestellt hatte. Das findet man ja nicht mehr überall. Alle Gerichte waren ganz ausgezeichnet. Trotz Vorspeisen und Nachtisch war die Rechnung sehr moderat. Absolut empfehlenswertes Restaurant.

Erste mal mit 2 Freunde reserviert und besucht. Sehr gemütlich und authentisch. Bedienung höflich und Chef gut drauf....Essen war sehr gut und preiswert....Ouzo aufs Haus...ein Punkt Abzug wegen Parkplatzmangel..... Und auch heute wieder top Service... witzig und trinkt gern auch ein am Tisch mit...ein absoluter positive Eindruck! 4,5sterne Nach einer Sommerpause wieder da.... freundschaftlicher wilkommensgruss vom Chef...Service und Essen top...und günstig...gerne bald wieder! Wieder da...immer was anderes aus der Karte bestellt... Betreiber ein echter Gastgeber... Bedienung flitzt hin und her aber gekonnt und professionell! Wieder ein Genuss zur zweit.... Reservierung ist eine Empfehlung! Wieder wie immer...(fast) alles sehr lecker und reichlich...nur die Pfeffersauce schmeckt nach nix...wie eine wässerige Bratensauce!! Schade...kostet zwar nur €1,50 aber ich würde lieber mehr bezahlen für eine richtige Sauce!

Sehr leckeres griechisches Restaurant. Ich finde den Service und Ambiente etwas altbacken aber hat doch wieder Charme. Besonders ist der familiäre Flair und das Essen hervorzuheben. Der Chef dreht hier nicht seine runde und grüßt seine Gäste. Die Karte ist super fleischlastig aber dafür mit großer Auswahl. Mein Tipp in essen

Sehr schönes Ambiente mit der uns bekannten Landestypischen Einrichtung. Sehr aufmerksames freundliches Personal. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und die Portionen ausreichend (man wird gut satt und muss nicht die Hälfte zurück geben). Alles in allem hatten wir zwei gelungene Abende hintereinander und hoffen schon bald mal wieder vorbei zu kommen. Uneingeschränkt Empfehlung 👍

Gehe hier regelmäßig essen, wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Sehr freundliches Personal. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Wir wohnen zwar um die Ecke, sind aber mit unser Besuch aus Hamburg zum Abendessen zum Restaurant gewesen. Das Essen war qualitativ hochwertig, sehr schnell und freundlich serviert. Super Atmosphäre und Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr gern wieder!

Wir waren wieder einmal rundum begeistert. Hier wird man mit Charme, Witz und einem stets freundlichen Lächeln begrüßt und bewirtet. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Es stimmt einfach alles. Gerne gibt man da die volle Punktzahl. Herzlichen Dank. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Leckeres Essen in toller Ambiente. Obwohl das Restaurant sehr voll war, hatte man nicht den Eindruck. Die Mitarbeiter sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Wartezeiten auf die Speisen absolut angemessen. Zwischen Vor- und Hauptspeise genau richtige Servierzeit. Und vor allen Dingen nicht, wie in fast jedem Restaurant, überteuert. Hier stimmt absolut das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Dieses Restaurant ist absolut zu empfehlen.

War sehr lecker, sehr schnell obwohl recht voll. Und jetzt das Beste: Preise sind wie vor Corona! Dafür Portionen etwas kleiner aber empfinde ich nicht als schlimm da man nie komplett aufisst. Komme safe wieder. Ambiente ist halt old school, aber tut dem Ganzen keinen Abbruch.

Schön war's, nach längerer Zeit wieder einmal hier gewesen und gut, nein, sehr gut gegessen zu haben! Die ganze Familie war rundum glücklich. Und dabei ist es absolut fair im Preis geblieben. Der sehr nette Service ist dann noch das Sahnehäubchen --- man fühlt sich einfach willkommen. =>> Wir kommen wohl bald wieder!

Sollte in seltenen Fällen mal etwas schief gelaufen sein, nimmt man konstruktive Kritik umgehend an und bügelt den Fehler aus. Ich kenne und besuche die Lokalität Aphrodite (ehemals Mykonos) seit Jahrzehnten und komme immer gerne wieder.

Wir waren nach langer Zeit Mal wieder hier, die Qualität des Essens hat mittlerweile ziemlich nachgelassen. Das Gyros war nicht durchgebraten und ziemlich fettig, genauso wie das Schweinefilet. Beim abräumen des Tisches wurde gefragt wie das essen war, Kellner darauf hingewiesen, leider keine Reaktion darauf. Ich weiß nicht ob noch einmal wiederkommen werde.

Wir sind seit dem ersten Tag der Eröffnung gute Gäste im Restaurant Aphrodite. Den Inhaber Evangelisto kennen wir schon aus der Zeit als er noch Kellner im Olympia in der Burggrafenstrasse war, also mindestens 40 Jahre. Da sollte man meinen das man willkommen ist und auch mal eine berechtigte Reklamation aussprechen darf. Dies ist allerdings leider ein Irrtum, da Herr Evangelisto auf berechtige Reklamationen leider sehr agressiv reagiert und sogar noch persönlich wird und Unrechtsbewußtsein für ihn ein Fremdwort ist. Wir sind keinesfalls notorische Meckerer sondern freundliche nette Leute und Reklamationen unsererseits gab es in den letzten 20 Jahren vielleicht 5. Da darf man doch sicherlich erwarten, dass mit einer berechtigten Reklamation professionel umgegangen wird und man nicht noch attackiert, quasi beschimpft und angemacht wird. Uns hat es heute Abend als gute und freundliche Stammgäste ein für alle Mal gereicht und unsere Schmerzgrenze wurde deutlich überschritten und so war das unser letzter Besuch im Restaurant Aphrodite. Wir bedauern nur das wir diesem Laden solange die Treue gehalten haben. Das war allerdings schon seit längerer Zeit nur noch der fußläufigen Erreichbarkeit und Bequemlichkeit geschuldet, sowie natürlich unserer eigenen Dummheit. Bei einer berechtigten Reklamation ist die aufgesetzte Freundlichkeit schnell verflogen und dann zeigt dieser Herr sein wahres Gesicht. Einfach nur erbärmlich und ohne jedes Unrechtbewußtsein. Das ein Wirt mit Gästen die er 40 Jahre kennt in dieser Form umgeht ist einfach nur unfassbar und sagt alles aus.

Freundliches griechisches Traditionsrestaurant. Mit leckeren Speisen und gastfreundschaftlichen Service. Eine üppige Speisekarte mit einer vielfältigen Auswahl an Gerichten. In der Umgebung könnten Parkplätze knapp sein, daher ist die Anreise mit dem öffentlichen Nahverkehr ratsam.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir waren keine einfache Truppe 😄 Trotzdem waren die Kellner sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Preisleistung gibt es ebenfalls nix zu Mekkern. Danke für den tollen Abend.

Um ganz fair zu sein, kam ich später, da man in der Nähe erstmal zich Runden fahren musste, um überhaupt einen Parkplatz zu finden. Der griechische Salat und die Reste von den SportsfreudenInnen an Gyros und Kartoffelngratin schmeckten recht gut.
