You should go! Very good, personal service, nice ambiance, delicious food, and really well-kept 🍺 You can't go wrong with Emden's herring (which I had tonight). Except for the fried potatoes... But they were perfect: crispy, hot (!), and seasoned just right. Combined: truly delicious. Worth a visit!

Yes, it was delicious. We just went there without making a reservation. They immediately offered us a seat. The buffet was plentiful, and they also offered salmon, which isn't common anymore. We were surprised by the price. We paid less than 17 euros. And that was on a weekend. It won't be the last time.

We were there after a funeral. They had pumpkin soup, which was very tasty, and sandwiches.

A nice restaurant in itself. But apparently you have to be lucky; at least we've heard some good reviews, some rather mixed. Our evening was rather so-so. For starters, we had carpaccio, which was unfortunately very thickly sliced ​​and very stringy. Not appropriate for the price. Then, an order was taken incorrectly, and an additional request was initially forgotten, despite a promise to come back to us after asking the kitchen. The steak was a bit tough, and the burger, while tasty, was expensive. We paid a good €90 for two people (including three glasses of wine and a bottle of water). That's not appropriate for what we got. If the carpaccio had been thin and tender, the steak just as tender, and the burger a "looker," perhaps. But as it is, I can't recommend the restaurant.

We haven't eaten there yet, as we happened to be there by bike just before closing time. We drank two Alster beers and were greeted very warmly despite our late arrival. Very nice ambiance. The outside is also very inviting. We will definitely go there again, and of course eat there too. 08/21/25 We had our girls' night at Ankerplatz last night. Simply amazing. The food was perfect in terms of taste, presentation, and price. We had "Cappuccino with Chanterelles" and "Chanterelles in Cream with Fried Bread Dumplings." A flavor explosion of the finest. Big praise for the kitchen and, of course, the service, who were very polite and very attentive to making you feel at home. We'd be happy to come back.

We arrived very early (around 11 a.m.), but were still greeted warmly. Lunch, with a small menu, is available from 12 p.m. The weather was lovely, and we were able to sit outside. The food was amazing: the tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms was truly delicious; we couldn't get enough of it. The portion was ample—not too much, not too little. The prices are absolutely reasonable. Reasonable for the quality. And the service is excellent! I'm already looking forward to going back. I highly recommend it.

Wir waren schon öfters dort. Aber am 26.07.25 muss der Koch frei gehabt haben!! Eine Cappuccino Pilz Suppe war geschmacklos und schmeckte nur nach Kaffee. Der Schweinebraten ist wohl selbst in jeder Kantine besser. Die Sauce bei den Emdner Matjes nach Hausfrauenart war reinste Mayonnaise mit einer kleingeschnittenen Gewürzgurke, völlig geschmacklos !!!. Das war dann eben das Letzte Mal in diesem Restaurant !!!

We've been there several times, and the food was okay. On July 26th, the chef must have had the day off... Disastrous cappuccino, mushroom soup, roast pork that tastes better in any canteen, Emdener Matjes (traditional herring). The "sauce" was your typical mayonnaise with a finely chopped gherkin, completely tasteless, the whole thing inedible. Even the friendly waitresses were no help... Never again!

Oh dear, this time we were invited to breakfast at a birthday party. I felt sorry for the birthday boy/girl/inviter. We were invited at 9:30 a.m. There was no more scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon, etc. The cheese platter was only half full, some of the jam jars were empty, the multivitamin juices were empty, and apple juice was only half full. The ham was more bacon than ham. Overall, it was very poorly presented. The tea had so many tea bags in it that you couldn't drink it. I got the feeling that they had put a spoonful of tea leaves in each bag, like coffee. It was so strong and bitter that you couldn't drink it. At the table, people were discussing breakfast and the food and prices in general, and according to other guests who, like us, had been there several times, it was often disappointing. So, what none of us understands in this discussion is that if you accept reservations for specific times, like in this case, two large groups at the same time, then you know how many guests are there (you know the hotel guests too), and you also have to ensure that the food is available, and above all, the staff has to ensure everything runs smoothly if something isn't there. You just have to check more often. According to the information, there was no more salmon. But why do you leave the empty plate there? The fact that you had to wait 15 minutes for the scrambled eggs and bacon is also absurd; a line had already formed at their containers. The process needs to be better organized. When you see that a dish is running out, you order something new to be brought out, and not wait until it's completely empty. That was the case with almost all the dishes. So overall, almost everyone was disappointed, and there was more excitement at the table about breakfast than there was joy for the birthday child. It's a shame that we have to write this, but maybe it will change something and the next guests will have more fun and be able to enjoy themselves unhindered.

After our last visit three years ago, we had fond memories of the restaurant. Today's visit was a huge disappointment! The quality of the food was disproportionate to the price. We ordered pork medallions and a grilled meat. Both together came to a whopping €50. This didn't include drinks. The starter consisted of four small slices of mini baguette with cream cheese. A joke right from the start. Anyone who has to cut costs here has a big problem. The two main course plates looked almost identical despite being different dishes?! The potato fritters on both plates were unfortunately very greasy and didn't taste like potatoes. The meat was okay, but nothing more. The beef fillet on the grilled meat was tasteless and a bit tough! Our impression: The chef did a boring, run-of-the-mill job! A real shame! The food wasn't inedible, and we ate it all up. However, after we voiced our criticism during the usual question while clearing the dishes, we were even more disappointed. Nobody cared! Therefore, our ultimate punishment: We don't recommend the restaurant! Unless you want to pay a lot of money for subpar food, we won't be back!

Three of us had an excellent lunch there. They have a very good lunch menu. The food was beautifully presented, so it was also a feast for the eyes! Hi, We wanted to have a nice family dinner for a birthday. So, on the advice of friends, we went to the restaurant. We had a reservation, and there were only a few guests. The first impression was somewhat spartan, with little attention to detail. Then the food must be particularly good… we thought. We were handed the menus, and as we flipped through the pages, I felt a little "off"; the pages had been flipped through several times by other hands. There were some brown and red stains, and I felt like asking for a damp cloth for my hands. Laminated, washable pages would be advantageous in a restaurant. The menu looked truly unappealing. The drinks were almost empty when a "small greeting" came from the kitchen: a few very small slices of baguette with an unnamed, sour dip. As time passed, we took a bite of it until the appetizer arrived: cream of asparagus soup. The garnish was almost raw asparagus, the liquid part a salty, thickened, whitish, milky broth whose taste was unfortunately no longer detectable due to the high salt content. When it was passed around the family, everyone immediately noticed that it was not enjoyable and completely over-salted. When clearing up, the staff themselves judged the soup to be over-salted and removed it from the bill. The main course is surely better if you've already messed up the starter. Another 30 minutes passed before the main courses arrived. The gourmet burger for the junior was quite okay when asked. Next main course was plaice fillet with diced ham and fried potatoes, with a side salad. Sounds like a great dish if you know how to prepare it. Because the soup was too salty, the salt was apparently left out of the plaice fillet altogether. Unfortunately, it tasted like a fried beer mat in batter. Of nothing. When the third bite didn't get any spicier (seasoning can sometimes be uneven), I pushed the plate aside so the staff would notice something was wrong. Unfortunately, this plan didn't work for a long time. They skillfully ignored it and preferred to wipe the tables next door rather than pay attention to the guests. At some point after waiting for 30 minutes, someone came over to ask if they had enjoyed their meal, even though they could have saved themselves the question if a plate had been pushed to the side almost untouched. When I then explained what was wrong with the food, they blamed me. After all, I could have said something and then gotten a new fish. I would have said something much sooner if they had been attentive and made an effort to serve us - given the lack of attention, a table bell would not have been a bad idea. So much for hospitality... the other main course consisted of very, very firm (it could have been half-raw) asparagus. A mere 10 spears with a not-so-tasty hollandaise sauce and a couple of boiled potatoes that were dried out on the outside. A few crumbs of chives sprinkled on top unfortunately couldn't conjure up a delicious meal. Afterwards, we had a long discussion (presumably with management) about how to deal with our disastrous meal and the accompanying bill. Unfortunately, when the discussion was over, they forgot to come back to our table. At some point, we went to the counter so we could do some shopping before closing time and then cook ourselves at home. We ended up spending almost €65 for two dishes (the worst dish was waived) and then cooking ourselves. It's a real shame. When the staff said they hoped to see us again next time, they met with a resounding shake of the head. Absolutely not. That was a truly disappointing end to my birthday, and their good reputation is no longer valid.

Mother's Day, just before 1 p.m Totally unfriendly, dismissive staff! Many tables were not set and yet they were all supposedly reserved. Only 1 table outside occupied by 2 people. Had to go. You don't seem to need any guests!

A very pleasant and atmospheric place. Always clean. Very comfortable rooms. Great restaurant (congratulations to the chef). I ate the best steaks in my life in this place. Whenever I'm in this area I always stop here.

We sat outside because the weather was nice. The service was a bit slow but friendly. Prices are slightly on the higher side.

I was there on May 3rd, 2025. Eating well after the side dish was changed because the order didn't arrive correctly in the kitchen. In the end, the settlement was a catastrophe. I was charged 5 euros too much. The next billing at the table was billed 18 euros too much and the third billing was about 30 euros too much. Everything was refunded upon request. I assume it was a technical problem. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like the house was embarrassed. It was quickly moved away from the table. We would certainly have been reconciled with a schnapps from the house. That didn't happen, despite our tips. Too bad! We won't come back. Holger Paradies, Oldenburg.

Basically recommended. Very good cuisine in the À la carte. Unfortunately for us the price-performance ratio at the Easter buffet was only satisfactory. Mainly due to the service that needs to be improved (a bit slow, drinks ordered forgot) and sometimes not enough warm food at the buffet. But the almost 37€ per person is a bit steep.

The asparagus menu for Easter is a dream! Highly recommended, nice compilation, price performance is right and everything is nice and fresh. Will definitely come back! Thank you for that.

We were there on December 31, 2024. The food was super tasty and we were happy about the nice, delicious greeting from the kitchen. Only the fact that the boss later ran through the restaurant with the big dog was very inappropriate. Otherwise great and we will definitely come back

Four of us went there for dinner on Boxing Day with high expectations, as we are not used to anything different from this restaurant. We also accepted a longer journey for this. However, we expected food á la carte. When reserving a table, it was not stated that there would only be a buffet, but that would not have been a knock-out criterion. But what we found really disappointed us. More than half of the food was cold, used up or carelessly prepared. It was Christmas after all! When we paid, we swallowed - 42.50 per person! Seriously? But you can expect significantly better quality! The best part of the evening was the politeness and attentiveness of the staff, who were always present. It's a shame that the good impression up until then has been somewhat lost.

The food was great…service as well. But as a criticism we can add that there is a 20€ no show fee for each person (appointed persons) who suddenly became ill in the morning must pay. You can't predict the flu, it was clearly explained to us at reception, the fact that you have to pay €20 per person is quite severe. That was December 26th, 2024.

The Christmas buffet was great! All types of meat were cooked to perfection and wonderfully prepared. The atmosphere was very cozy, you felt really comfortable.

On our first visit, we were very satisfied. The service was very good, the food was good. Unfortunately, everything was different on our second visit. The service was absolutely incompetent, still in training?? I first ordered a bitter lemon. A small, thick, ugly glass of water arrived. There were four of us and we wanted to enjoy the drinks first. But the waitress kept coming and asking what we wanted to eat. The starter, a clear broth, was unfortunately only lukewarm and a bit over-seasoned. Unfortunately, the main course was only lukewarm. Unfortunately, drinks were not requested in between. So the restaurant is done for us. It is also very expensive.

Six of us were there on a Sunday evening and it was great 👍🏽 very friendly staff and the food was also very tasty! From fish to game to burgers, there is something for everyone. We would love to come back 👍🏽

The restaurant “Ankerplatz” in 1 Südwieke 7, 26817 Rhauderfehn, lets nothing to be desired for the palate. A diverse selection of healthy dishes, deliciously presented, making them an eye-catcher. Vegan dishes are also offered, like a separate menu for children. The building itself is optimally positioned at the location, especially since you can also see the ferry at the departure point. The guest rooms have a modern design, are comfortable and are surrounded by light with an upscale atmosphere. The staff is highly motivated to present their guests with superlatives by being extremely friendly, courteous and helpful when selecting dishes and matching wines. Even if you just sit in the beer garden, enjoy the right drink with the Brettljause and think about it, this restaurant is a hit. Pleasant outdoor seating is mandatory. Barrier-free all around, free parking spaces are available and if you want to take it easy, there is the associated fine hotel to relax. The opening times are very practical for me, especially since there is no day off. So my rating is based on the deserved 5 stars.

A Viennese schnitzel (veal?) with a soggy, over-seasoned breading, bordering on chewy, at a price of €25.50 plus €4.50 for a slightly larger side salad. Delicious is different! It was probably a finished product from the freezer 👎. In addition, a gourmet burger with the same dressing from the side salad was used and the melted onions were prepared with a spice powder a la Maggi. Conclusion of this evening: The food Max. 2 stars because the fries made up for some of it. The service: Max. 4 stars because there was no response to the criticism of the schnitzel. I have to change my rating to something negative. Yesterday on August 24th We wanted to eat there again because we liked it last Sunday. However, everything was different yesterday. We sat at a table outside and waited until someone spoke to us or something. However, the waitress just walked past us and another couple and ignored us because there was so much to do. This went on for about 20 minutes until the other couple left. We then waited another 5 minutes and then left. We have never experienced anything like that, where you are simply ignored. Therefore, if you have time and want to be ignored, this is the right place for you.

A great restaurant but the price/performance ratio and the dish didn't match

We ate there on Sunday and overall it was good :) What should definitely be highlighted is the service. There was a small homemade birthday drink and a greeting from the kitchen. Unfortunately the greeting wasn't a hit, the butter was very tasteless. The schnitzel was a little too fatty but otherwise tasted good. But in contrast to all the other dishes, it was just carelessly slapped onto the plate when you see the standard of the other dishes. I think it's a bit of a shame. Unfortunately, these little things prevent 5 stars. Update: The serving has improved and in general it was a really good meal today from starter to dessert, everything was great :)

Went to this lovely restaurant for lunch for the first time with my wife. At first we were there alone so I was able to take some photos of the location. I was allowed to photograph some of the rooms and was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere. After we received our food from the friendly waitress, the next surprise: Both meals were very tasty and the portions were sufficient and at a reasonable price that fits the overall image of the restaurant. Even the toilets were in excellent condition, which you don't find in every location. Even the outdoor dining makes an excellent impression, so you as a guest can be extremely satisfied. When I asked the friendly waitress about the history of the restaurant and the associated hotel, I patiently received a comprehensive answer. We will definitely stop by there more often and indulge in culinary delights. For us, this is now the first address in Rhauderfehn and the surrounding area. Thank you.

We have been living in Rhauderfehn for 4 months and have been here a few times. Just to have something to drink or to eat, it was good to very good every time. The staff is very friendly and also responds to special requests. The cuisine is great and suits me very well as a dry alcoholic. We chose the anchorage as our anchorage because we feel very comfortable here. See you soon

The Ankerplatz restaurant impresses with a beautiful ambience and delicious food, but unfortunately there are some aspects that spoil the overall impression. The ambience of the restaurant is positive. The furnishings are tasteful and inviting, so you immediately feel at home. The food itself also scores points: the dishes taste excellent and are of high quality. Unfortunately, there are some points of criticism. The presentation of the food was very bland. A lovingly prepared plate adds a lot to the dining experience, but here there was a lack of care and detail. Another negative point was the Obstler, which was not served in the right glass. In addition, the service staff couldn't even provide information about what type of fruit schnapps was on offer. A particularly unpleasant aspect was that the seat cushions were already being collected at 9 p.m., giving the impression that the restaurant would soon be closing. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere and we felt like we were being asked to leave. The service also left a lot to be desired. The neighboring table asked for cocktails, which the waitress couldn't answer. Only after calling in the bartender did it become apparent that no cocktails were being offered. The bartender's response seemed unprofessional and improvised. We also had to actively call the waitress when our glasses were empty, which gave the impression that the service staff were still inexperienced and perhaps more like assistants. In summary, the Ankerplatz restaurant has great potential due to its beautiful ambience and delicious food. However, urgent work needs to be done on the presentation of the food, the professionalism of the service staff and the general quality of service to improve the overall experience.

We stayed in the associated Hotel Alte Navigations Schule with breakfast, very good selection, very nice atmosphere, great service staff who were very committed. In the evening they hosted the wedding we had come to, with food and drinks. The food was very good, the atmosphere and the service were great. We would like to come again.

Unfortunately we couldn't eat anything in the anchorage. The information on the internet was missing that there is no hot food after 2:30 p.m. When we sat on the premises to choose another restaurant, the waitress came and offered us coffee and cake. We thought that was very nice and politely declined ☺️ It's annoying that the website isn't maintained.

The hotel has been newly furnished or renovated in the old navigation school. The stay there is very pleasant. Breakfast is served (not a buffet) and is very tasty. There is also Nutella. The coffee is great! We had a room under the attic. Unfortunately, there were sewage smells from the shower (presumably this is related to a pump system from the toilet, which also sucks out the traps from the shower).

A very nice, maritime atmosphere and comfortably furnished restaurant in the former rooms of a navigation school for young sailors. The quality of the food was very good and we had two quick waiters who served us very attentively. We'll be back!

We had a delicious meal there. The service was really nice and friendly from the two students. The ambience was great! Clean and the tables are not too crowded. Unfortunately for us personally there is a star deduction because we weren't full. The portion size was simply not enough. You want to come back... and when you know..."we won't get enough" for over €100, you think twice. When you go out to eat these days...it's usually a special event. And then EVERYTHING can be right.

We were here for breakfast with the family and at the beginning there were no rolls so when we wanted to get rolls we were told that they would be available again, which I would give in 7 minutes. 10 minutes later there were none again. Then I could at least get scrambled eggs, but where I wanted to get a second helping, they were no longer available So all in all I can't recommend it

Very nice restaurant. Very cozy. The food is very tasty and the dessert was amazing. Only recommended. Were very satisfied.

Wir waren hier zunächst um für Freunde ein Zimmer zu buchen und einen Tisch im Restaurant zu reservieren. Uns wurde sehr zuvorkommend geholfen und ein Hotelzimmer gezeigt. Alles machte einen sehr guten Eindruck.

Wir hatten ein Hauptgericht und eine Nachspeise. Das Hauptgericht schmeckte wirklich sehr gut und machte einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Top! Die Nachspeise war auch gut, wobei ich da einen Punkt für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis abziehen würde! Schade war, dass man in dem Preissegment keinen Gruß aus der Küche bekommt und vor oder zum Hauptgericht keinen Salat oder Ähnliches…! Das hätte wir uns gewünscht und das hätte alles irgendwie komplett gemacht. Vorher stellte mann uns lediglich 6 Scheiben Brot in einem Korb hin mit einem Dipp in der Mitte. Vom Geschmack her leider eher einfach! Das Personal war super freundlich, ist auf alles eingegangen und da gibt es wirklich nichts zu meckern!!! Das Ambiente ist schön, sauber und gepflegt. Letzten Endes aber auch Geschmacksache! Wir fühlten uns jedenfalls wohl. Fazit: Etwas „Gutes“ vor dem Essen hätte den Besuch abgerundet und fehlte leider! Ansonsten einfach sehr gut.

Sind jetzt das erste Mal dagewesen, Essen und Service waren Spitze 👌. Wiederholung folgt.

An sich sehr schöner laden, Preis Leistungsvenis hat auch gestimmt.. AAAABER - einen quasi schon Trinkgeld aufzuzwingen….. wir sollten 74,90€ zahlen,der Herr hat uns direkt selbst auf 85€ rausgegeben… ( haben ihm 100€ gegeben ) & nimmt sich einfach von selbst 10€ Trinkgeld…. Als wir ihn darauf ansprachen „man rundet ja auf.“ …. Sehr schade… werden dort nicht wieder essen.

Hotel Bewertung. Großes modernes Zimmer. Leckeres Frühstück. Äußerst sympathische Betreuung. Sehr empfehlenswert.
