Restaurant Amadeus in Salzwedel

The visit to this restaurant revealed an overall positive impression. The excellent value for money and the impressive quality of the food are particularly noteworthy. However, it should be noted that the noise level increases significantly when the restaurant is busy, noticeably detracting from the atmosphere. We had two appetizers and main courses. Unfortunately, I can't give the food any stars, as it was the worst meal I've had in a long time! The soup tasted burnt, and the pasta and pizza were awful. On the other hand, the service and atmosphere were very good. However, since one goes to a restaurant primarily to eat, this establishment will not be returning.

I had the chimichurri as a starter. It came with two large pieces of toasted bread. It was delicious and a great start. You can easily share it. For the main course, I couldn't decide, so I let the chef choose. The choices were the Texas Beef Salad and the BBQ Beef Burger. I went for the burger, and it was definitely the right choice. Very tasty and juicy. I usually eat quite large portions, but here I was really full after the starter and main course. I even left a few fries behind. The honey mustard sauce was really good, too. Great atmosphere, nice service, and everyone there was very friendly. Bottom line: Delicious food, good portions, would go back! 😄🍔 I've been here before and got drunk on cocktails... that's okay, too!

Went out for dinner spontaneously – delicious food, friendly service

After visiting two churches and a museum, we stopped here for dinner in the early afternoon. The restaurant's location is truly perfect. There's plenty of seating; we chose a table overlooking the adjacent, small river. The waiter today was very attentive and friendly; we didn't have to wait long from ordering to our meal. Both the starter and main course were delicious. I found the prices fair. Even the fact that we had to choose our dishes from a shortened afternoon menu didn't dampen our very positive impression. We'd be happy to come back.

It was the first time in a long time that we'd visited SAW, and since we used to have a nice meal there, we went back today and were very disappointed. From the waiters who didn't understand us and were very unfriendly and rude, to the wrong food and the quality of the food itself, it was a huge disappointment. When we ordered drinks, we wanted Diesdorfer juice, and were only given iced tea. We tried to order a different flavor, got the same answer, and ended up with just a Coke. When we ordered our food, we thought that was fine, but instead of the Amadeus potato we ordered, we got the Amadeus pan. We declined politely, and what came next was the icing on the cake: one regular-sized potato in a casserole dish with a leaf of spinach drenched in sauce for €13. And while we were waiting, we saw the same problems at the other tables: the wrong food was brought, and the only response was a shrug. We were so shocked that we just wanted the bill and left disappointed. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Amadeus of the past.

The food was beautifully presented, but there wasn't enough for the price. Unfortunately, none of us were full. The service was nice and friendly. Personally, I didn't like the atmosphere. It was very loud. We wouldn't come back.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. I met up with two friends and were looking forward to a lovely evening. There were no closing times posted outside. I don't know exactly, but I think it was open end. At 10 p.m., we ordered another drink and the waiter came over and said that was the last one; we would have liked to sit a bit longer.

Over the years, the portions have become smaller and smaller, AND the price has gotten soaring for such poor quality. For €17.50, a handful of lettuce drenched in dressing and a ready-made schnitzel on top. It used to be plenty of fresh, colorful, crispy salad and freshly seared chicken breast. It no longer tasted good at all and seemed as cheap as possible.

The food was delicious, but the wild herb salad turned out to be just a regular leaf salad. There was no decorative side dish on the grill plate. The fries and 350g of meat looked a bit lonely on the plate. Other customers with fighting dogs, etc., were waiting for their orders in the middle of the dining room, and everyone had to walk past them. The staff repeatedly petted the dog without washing their hands afterward and continued serving.

Unfortunately, the other staff members make it very clear what they don't like and let you feel their displeasure. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was unpleasant; as a guest, that's not what I personally imagine a pleasant evening would look like.

It's really a shame what has become of this! I called in advance to order something and I was supposed to come by in 10 minutes to pick it up. After 10 minutes they said the order wasn't even being processed. Just keep waiting... Another time we went out to eat on site. After we didn't finish the food, a fee was charged for packing a dish. This was not communicated to us in the restaurant. Furthermore, the taste of the fries is really not good and they taste incredibly dry. The staff friendliness also leaves a lot to be desired, you are not really treated like a guest here but simply a pay slave... Did I also mention that the knives in the restaurant are absolutely unsharp? Because that’s everyone without exception!

We were there as a family on a Sunday evening including two smaller children. It was a wonderful visit to the restaurant right from the start. Fast seating allocation, wonderful service, tasty food and absolute child-friendliness that we haven't experienced in a very long time. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

We were there for lunch today, the two of us had a drink and a main course from the lunch menu, and the food was great. We waited for some time until the waiter came to clear away and then wanted to pay because we sat for some time without paying any attention, the bill also took a little longer. When the total was rounded from €29.40 to €30.00, the waiter made his displeasure clear to us - in our opinion he didn't necessarily contribute to more tips and I found the situation very cheeky... especially since we weren't asked whether it was tasty or if we wanted to drink something else - during the food. I don't really like fake friendliness, so I'll stay away for now.

The Amadeus is a great restaurant. We have been there several times and have always been very satisfied. Even on Valentine's Day when the restaurant was very full, we didn't have to wait long for our food and the service was super friendly and courteous. The staff is warm, courteous and makes the guests feel comfortable.

Food is always good. Large selection for young and old. Thanks to offers such as happy hour or lunch, they are sometimes very inexpensive compared to the normal rate. Only cash payment possible!

We're not particularly happy. The points awarded are for the food, the ambience and the friendly staff. That was it on the positive side. What there was to complain about: There were five of us there. The waiting time for the food to be served was too long. 40-45 minutes approximately. However, this only applied to three of the five meals. The food for my wife and grandson took another 30-40 minutes to arrive. Of course, the rest of us had already finished eating. Okay…..the service staff apologized and there was a schnapps and a coffee on the house. I still wasn't satisfied. To make matters worse, €25 was overcharged. Because the sum was a little larger, I didn't notice it. It was only when I got home when I briefly skimmed the bill that I noticed that my wife's meal, which was served last, had been charged twice for €25. We visited the Amadeus on October 12, 2024. My wife then on October 13th. and on October 21st. contacted Amadeus by email to clarify the matter. There has been no answer so far. As a result, I cannot recommend this restaurant any further. NOTE: I am correcting my rating upwards now that the managing director/owner has now contacted me. An apology for the inconvenience and a voucher followed. Thank you for that.

The food is just amazing every time and the homemade lemonades are amazing. Despite a large group of 12 people, everyone got their food at the same time, which is not a given at all restaurants! There is definitely something for everyone on the menu. Bon appetit!

Very nice atmosphere in the middle of old houses. The outside area is nicely designed, so we felt quite comfortable there. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. In general the price-performance ratio is very good. However, the service was negative. One of the service staff kept picking his ear and then serving food. Another told us in a very rude way that we had to put our cell phones away. I believe that while it's not exactly en vogue, it's still my choice what I do and don't do, as long as I don't actively bother anyone with it. Regardless of your own feelings. Kudos to the one service employee who tried very hard and was always friendly, even when it was a bit stressful.

Es ist ein besseres 08/15-Lokal (bezogen auf die Speisekarte): eben, was man so normalerweise in Deutschland erwarten darf. Schnitzel war in Ordnung. Sehr freundliches Personal. Man sitzt ganz schön direkt am Wasser.

Amadeus, Amadeus .... Vorschuss-Lorbeeren mit Hochgesang ?! Davon war bei unserem Besuch im Amadeus Salzwedel nur (noch) wenig zu spüren. Beginnend mit Cola ohne Kohlensäure (wurde aber anstandslos ausgetauscht), “zerfranste” Tische (Korbgeflecht) im Außenbereich, die schon deutlich bessere Tage gesehen hatten. Aber die Krönung war (aus dem spärlichen Auswahlmenü) EINE 3 x geteilte Kartoffel mit etwas Grünzeug und das Ganze mit reichlich fetter Sahnesoße übergossen für läppische € 12.90 (in echtem Geld immerhin DM 25.00 ... würde bei dem Preis niemand so bestellen) Allerdings ist es auch so niemandem zu empfehlen, das Kartoffelmenü (wie oben beschrieben) zu ordern. So lebt man im Amadeus wohl vom Glanz der alten Tage .... aber wir haben neue Zeiten und da erwarte ich eine andere Art von Qualität und Quantität ... für nicht grad wenig Geld. Ich bin bestimmt nicht geizig oder besonders “picky”, aber das wird ja wohl nicht zu viel von einem Restaurant verlangt sein, oder ?

The Amadeus is located in the city center. There is parking nearby. The service was very friendly and attentive. We chose dishes from the lunch menu. The portions are really rich. The food good. We sat outside. Some of the furniture is a bit old. But you sit there comfortably and quietly. The toilets are located 1. Floor higher and are, let's say, usable. There is an elevator if you can't or don't want to take the stairs
