Unfortunately, the rooms are getting old. However, the breakfast and the super friendly staff are perfect! I'd love to come back.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside, but inside it is already rustic. The room was okay for the price if you only stay one night. Unfortunately, the bathroom was not clean, the previous glass was still on the sink and the remains were left there in plain view. That's not a pretty sight. The staff was friendly and everything went smoothly when booking. Free parking spaces are available in front of and behind the hotel. The town is nice and quiet.

I visited this hotel for a few days at the beginning of October and can describe my experience as follows: I had booked a single room, which was very small and cramped - according to the plan 8m² plus hallway and bathroom. It was difficult to fit a chair between the bed and the desk. Here and there the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, but no wonder if you simply stick textured wallpaper over woodchip wallpaper... the WiFi in the room was very unstable. But at least it was clean and was cleaned regularly, although the towels were sometimes changed even though you didn't want them to. The breakfast is very rich and fulfills almost every wish. One evening we wanted to visit the bar, but it was no longer open around 9 p.m., even though we had been promised it beforehand. It was only thanks to the very friendly efforts of a member of staff that we were able to have a few more drinks. A very special thank you to this colleague! The lady at reception was somehow present everywhere... probably has a 15 hour day😉 The location of the hotel is quite good, you can quickly get to the old town and also to the train station in about 10 minutes

One of the worst hotels I have ever booked. Rooms are just fine. Everything has stopped a bit in the last few years. Breakfast costs extra. No problem at all, but then you should actually be able to expect breakfast. This breakfast is not worth the money. All in all we can't recommend this hotel.

Our room was clean and the hotel staff was very polite. Above all, the young gentleman at the reception made our stay as comfortable as possible. The mattresses are great and allow for a restful sleep. The breakfast is completely okay for the size of the hotel, but the selection is not particularly large. However, individual wishes were fulfilled quickly and friendly in the kitchen. Lunch was very tasty. In short: Not a luxury hotel with modern furnishings, but clean and recommended!

A bit of an outdated hotel and restaurant. Food is good, bourgeois and tastes good. If you want action and special food, you'll have to look elsewhere.

On the day of arrival around 11 a.m. we were informed by the hotel that the hotel was overbooked and that they would have to book us into a hotel much further out. When asked, it was described that guests wanted to extend the stay and were simply given the room that we had booked. Poorly organized store and not very customer-oriented staff, definitely not a recommendation for me.

We had dinner here with the family. It was average, not exceptional.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the center and easily accessible by car. With public transport everything takes a little longer in this region. The furnishings look a bit dated and this is also reflected in some traces of wear and tear. The room was furnished a long time ago with fairly old designs. The bathroom could use a makeover. The bed is okay if you bring your own pillow, otherwise it will be a struggle to make something out of it. The room door still has the good old key and no card system, so it is up to you whether you want to turn on the light or not. The breakfast is okay if you don't expect a large choice. The boiled egg and scrambled eggs/bacon are usually cold and can run out even if you get there early and it seems like it's gone. It is clean there. There are even two EV charging points available. But for four stars you would expect something different altogether. Nice anecdote that happened to us with one of the waiting staff, we were sitting on the terrace in front of the hotel and they indicated at 7:45 PM that the kitchen was closed (normally at 8:30 PM) we could order something to drink . When ordering coffee, they came back with the message that the coffee maker had started a 2-hour cleaning process, so "Leader kein Kaffee" .. ten minutes later another employee says that there is coffee available, and we see the previous employee going home at the end of the working day :). Don't expect too much for the price you pay.

We wanted to make a reservation for Friday at 6 p.m., which wasn't possible. Since we were traveling with small children, the time window wasn't too big. When we arrived at 6-3 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty except for one table. Friendly and caring service, but unfortunately the summary of the food is not good. The chicken was missing from the salad with chicken and was delivered later. When it came to zander with seasonal vegetables, there were tasteless frozen vegetables and unfortunately the zander fillet wasn't good either. The children's fries were tasty, at least something.

Old school hotel but friendly staff and clean.

I never expected that there would be such bad hotels in Germany. We were a group of 12 people from Belgium and we didn't get the rooms we booked at all. At the breakfast buffet there wasn't even 1 roll per person. After a complaint, it was promised that there would be enough rolls the next morning, but again only 10 rolls for 12 people. However, we were the only guests in the hotel (April 22). I have never witnessed anything like this! Afterwards, I filed a complaint with Expedia, but the response I received was that the hotel claimed it had compensated us with free welcome drinks, but that was a big lie and wouldn't have been enough for us anyway. Incomprehensible and extremely annoying...

First of all, I'm not a guest who needs or prefers fine dining, on the contrary, I'm more than satisfied with solid home cooking, but it wasn't even that. Unfortunately, the service didn't make any effort to give us a nice evening, that was Already at the reception there was none. There was also no drinks menu so we were allowed to guess what was on offer. The menu was more than manageable. I would say that dishes of this kind are no longer offered at every motorway service station; it was very reminiscent of the 80s and the craftsmanship was not really good. In the wedding soup there were exactly two spoons of filler and the rest was broth. None of the dishes were convincing in terms of taste. The service wasn't present, the glasses were always empty, you literally had to beg, so you didn't generate any sales. In order not to spoil the evening for our host, who wanted to spend his birthday there with us, we put up with it. Sorry, I can't recommend the restaurant!

We were invited there today for our 90th birthday and everyone was disappointed. The food selection wasn't great, not to mention the price-performance ratio. The food was inadequate and bland. Regarding the service, the lady was rude and no one from the service even came to the table and asked if there were any further requests. Conclusion! I would not visit the premises again and recommend it to others. This is definitely much better

So, rooms are left standing in the 60s, the bathroom needs a general overhaul. The breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired. Prices are above average for what you get, plus €25 on top for using the sauna (you can go to a decent sauna area for that), €6 per day for a bathrobe.

Was there with a funeral party. There was sandwiches, which was strange. Cake top.

As always very satisfied, everything perfect, very friendly.

Highly recommended in our opinion. We were restaurant guests, not hotel guests. So we can't judge the rooms. Parking spaces directly in front of the hotel, the atmosphere is rustic and cozy. We were here for the first time and both ate the Wiener-style schnitzel, which was really delicious. The pumpkin cream soup beforehand was also very tasty. We cannot (yet) judge other dishes. Personally, I don't really like eating French fries, but these were damn well seasoned and really tasty. Praise to the kitchen. The food also came quite quickly. The young lady who served us yesterday evening (01/27/24) was very friendly and accommodating. Service top as far as we can tell. Absolutely okay price for the quality. Not cheap, but not expensive either. And since we were very happy with everything, we thought the prices were justified.

Clean and large rooms. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was very rich.

Very good service, food very good (I ate salmon, it was great), price/performance ratio in the hotel was good, furniture was a bit old, beds were very good, I felt very comfortable. Thank you!

I can only rate the restaurant, not recommended. The waitress tried, but if you have to serve overcooked, unseasoned food because the kitchen sends it that way, you don't stand a chance. She didn't really want an answer to the obligatory question about whether everything tasted good. It's a shame about the fish that had to die for it. And if you're in the mood for a really old hamburger bun, you've come to the right place. Hamburgers fried to death, fish burnt, sauces too hot from the microwave. Curled! I could go on like this... And that at an average price of €20? Underground!!! I don't normally write bad reviews, but this just isn't possible.

But it's already getting a little old: carpet - rocked 👎. Bathroom furniture - better not take a closer look👎. There are definitely more examples. The bed deserves a positive mention, as do the staff 👍 Still - not a recommendation.

are for a short vacation in Salzwedel, location to the old town is great, there are enough parking spaces, rooms are large and comfortable, furniture and furnishings are a bit older but nice, Staff super nice, polite, courteous, careful, just no daily room service, can you have it if you hang a sign out?? It was really nice here, thank you very much!

Zimmer war ok. Duschen kaum heißes Wasser, wenn man Pech hat. Frühstück ist ok und die Lage super.

Seit 2015 immer regelmäßig dort zu Gast.

Alle Freundlich und geben sich Mühe. Rollstuhl gerecht!! Das passt alles 👍 zu gar eine behinderten Toilette. Nur vom Zimmerpreis habe ich mir mehr versprochen. Alles schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Komplett Eindruck sehr dunkel, Eiche rustikal 🙄 für eine Nacht war es okay aber nicht lange.

Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Das Bett war bequem und man konnte sehr gut darin schlafen. Kopfkissen und Decken hatten eine gute Qualität. 2 Flaschen kostenlose Selter standen bereit und es gab einen Kühlschrank, wo man bei der Hitze eigene Schokolade und Getränke aufbewahren konnte. Beim Frühstück war der Vollautomat zwar kaputt, es wurde aber durch die junge Servicekraft sofort ein Kakao per Hand zubereitet, der auch noch sehr lecker war und auf jedem Tisch waren Thermoskannen mit Kaffe. Frisch zubereitet wurde Rührei mit Speck und Zwiebeln oder auch Spiegeleier. Lediglich die Brötchen hätte ich mir besser gewünscht, Bäckerbrötchen in Variationen anstatt Aufbackbrötchen ohne eigenen Geschmack wären toll gewesen. Ansonsten kann ich dieses Hotel empfehlen. Uns hat es gut gefallen.

ja, was soll man da schreiben? Zunächst sind die Mitarbeiter höflich, freundlich und nett. Das ganze Haus macht allerdings einen etwas herunter gekommenen Eindruck. Mein Bett war Okay. Das Zimmer war groß und hatte einen großen Fernseher bei dem die Fernbedienung allerdings einen Wackelkontakt hatte. Die Heizung war bei 8Grad Außentemperatur ausgeschaltet oder hatte keine Funktion. Das Duschen in der "rush hour" war unmöglich, da das Wasser nur sehr langsam lief. Die Halterung für den Duschkopf funktionierte nicht. Ich war jetzt wieder dort und es hat sich nichts verbessert. Das Frühstück war so schwach. Leider habe ich in Salzwedel noch kein besseres Hotel gefunden. Ach so, die E-Auto Ladeäule funktioniere nicht.

Hier ist man als Gast mehr geduldet als willkommen. Zimmer fürchterlich und Service nicht vorhanden. Einzig die Lage ist gut.

Erstes Treffen für den neuen Autorenkreis...mit Autorinnen!

Hotel ist etwas .. old school.. in der Einrichtung, ich mag das aber, Zimmer tadellos sauber, Rezeption freundlich und hilfsbereit, da Zimmerreservierung nicht korrekt aufgenommen wurde, wurde aber zufriedenstellend gelöst. Tipp, bitte die Sendereinstellungen der Fernseher überarbeiteten, Sender fehlen etc. Restaurant gleichfalls vier Sterne, schmackhaft und faire Preise. Bei einem weiteren Besuch in Salzwedel gerne wieder dort.

In der letzten Woche war ich geschäftlich in der Hansestadt Salzwedel unterwegs und habe dieses Hotel aufgrund von Empfehlungen meiner Kunden gewählt! Das Hotel hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente und ist sehr zentral gelegen. Ein großes Lob geht hierbei an Frau Dickow, für ihren exzellenten Service beim Frühstück und die freundliche Betreuung während des Aufenthalts. Der Hotelchef sollte sich glücklich schätzen, solch kompetentes Personal in seinen Reihen zu haben!

Auf der Speisekarte kein vegetarisches Gericht. Ansonsten war es lecker.

Gutes Hotel, nicht weit zur Altstadt und Umgebung

Das Zimmer und Bad waren sauber, aber alles etwas altbacken, wackelig und renovierungsbedürftig. Essen im Restaurant macht satt ist allerdings 08/15. Für eine Nacht ok.

Auf Getränke wartet man sehr lange. Der Service ist 2Sterne

Also für so ein altes Haus ist es wirklich hübsch und ordentlich. Alles sauber, tolle Küche, es gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Guter Standort. Für einen Kurztrip genau richtig. Jederzeit wieder.

Sehr freundliches Personal, angenehme Lage und Zimmer, etwas mehr Erfahrung bei der Bedienung wäre wünschenswert.

Älteres Hotel unter neuer Führung keine gelernten Hotelfachkräfte bemühen sich alles richtig zu machen. Küche ist in Ordnung. Preisleistung okay.
