I visited this restaurant spontaneously on November 14th without a reservation. The food and service were excellent. Highly recommended.

In addition to fair prices, the service is first-class. The dishes and the menu are explained in detail upon request. Recommendations are offered based on your expectations, and you're always made to feel like "the customer is king." You don't have to wait long for your empty glasses, and this is done without being intrusive. I usually only experience this level of service in very fine dining establishments. Reservations are given a 1.5-hour time slot, a practice that is unfortunately becoming increasingly common in the restaurant industry. However, don't let this deter you, as they are customer-oriented and will try to find a solution if necessary. The main room has a limited number of tables, but the atmosphere is very welcoming and guarantees a pleasant experience. We were a couple with a 12kg dog, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely and successful evening with delicious food.

Today was our first time at this restaurant. We chose a Russian dish and a schnitzel. First of all, the food was beautifully presented, the ingredients were exceptionally fresh and perfectly chilled. The portions were very generous, making it excellent value for money. We would gladly return. Thank you to the host!

Insider tip... we just popped into the restaurant today on a whim. The Google review led us there. The decor is still a bit dated. A tip from the previous owner. But that has nothing to do with the staff or the food. Young, friendly staff, and the food is truly delicious. We had schnitzel. I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. Fresh and all homemade. The sauces are fantastic. The portions could be a bit smaller, but they're truly enormous. The menu is small but exquisite. Russian cuisine. Schnitzel, burgers, and noodles. Go there and see if this gem of a restaurant stays with us for a long time.

The Wiener schnitzel with veal and the cordon bleu weren't that great. Perhaps the burgers, which looked good, were better.

Our food was delicious, whether it was soup, burgers, meat, or dessert—we really have nothing to complain about. The homemade drinks are also highly recommended. I recently went to the Abseits restaurant with my family and found the food to be delicious (especially the burgers), and the service was also very friendly, but our table was a bit dirty. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the restaurant and will definitely come back, hopefully with clean chairs.

A takeaway of fries, currywurst, and pelmeni cost over €25. A bit pricey for a simple meal, in my opinion. The food was tasty, although I would have preferred more curry sauce. The sauce was said to be homemade. It tasted good, but not very distinctive, lacking depth and spice. The broth with the pelmeni was similar. The food was well packaged. The service was quick and very friendly.

From the outside, it doesn't look like the surprising ambiance that awaits you inside. Very friendly service and always attentive. Delicious Russian cuisine, as well as German dishes. Very slow service and unfriendly. The food seems to depend a lot on what you order. The burgers are supposed to be good, but other dishes aren't so great, and the prices are also rather high. The dining room upstairs is pleasantly decorated, but the bowling alley is too narrow. It seems to depend largely on personal experience and expectations whether you recommend this place or advise against it.

Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for our food, and I almost died of hunger. But otherwise, everything was great. Perhaps the food delivery speed could be improved a bit?

Anyone would say when they see the photos from the outside or on Google that it can never be that tasty. But ! Never underestimate or judge something like that The food is really an 11/10... When I first ate there 3 years ago my first thought was "As if this is that good" but after eating I was just very surprised!!! Since then we have been regular guests there and will celebrate our registry office meal there with the family. The team is just A+ The food was also just 1++ The ambience is also A+ Tatjana and Eugen the owners 1+ with an Oscar! You're doing an incredibly good job, keep it up 🙏🏼 It's really worth coming by! For me one of the top 5 restaurants in Essen if not anywhere else but well everyone has their own opinion so come by and make up your own mind 😁 Best wishes to you!!

We started with a classic borscht that was perfectly balanced - spicy, with a pleasant acidity and a wonderfully velvety texture. There was also freshly baked bread, which complemented the soup perfectly. In addition to the Russian specialties, the menu also included typical German dishes such as schnitzel. For the main course we chose pelmeni, manty and vareniki, the Russian dumplings. The dough was wonderfully tender and the filling tasted incredibly aromatic. A homemade sour cream sauce was served with it, which rounded off the taste wonderfully. Finally, a delicious Napoleon cake rounded off the meal - a true masterpiece made of delicate puff pastry layers refined with a sweet, creamy filling.

We tried this restaurant after the fire at its new location and absolutely loved it. You can taste the love of food in all the dishes. Everything is homemade and that's exactly why I'm happy to pay a few euros more because it's still great quality. We as a family are thrilled and would love to come back. Went there for the first time almost 2 weeks ago and it was fantastic. The employees, all friendly and with a smile on their faces, the boss is also super nice. The salad was fresh and delicious, the dressing, both honey mustard and balsamic, was great. We had 2x shashlik and 2x schnitzel and it was all a dream. The sour cream and the fiery sauce go perfectly with the shish kebab. All in all a great location, with absolutely recommendable food and great employees/boss. We'll definitely be back very soon :)

It’s uncomfortable, cold inside, and the machine in the toilet that dispenses paper for your hands is broken. Workers walk back and forth. In terms of cuisine: the cafe specializes in Russian cuisine, which is why we chose it. Pork shish kebab has a lot of veins and is hard to chew. Beef Stroganoff - delicious puree, delicious tender beef meat, sauce not at all according to the classic recipe (I didn’t like it). Borscht - no, it's not borscht at all. Simply delicious meat soup. Help for you: borscht is served with sour cream (in Germany it's Schmand), not with garlic sauce. As for drinks - we took German beer, Russian kvass, cocktails - everything was good. There is no Russian beer, if that's the case. Pies - it’s funny that the menu says “to choose from”, but keep in mind that it’s not your choice, but the choice of the kitchen. Usually it is always meant to be the guest's choice! The potato pie was delicious. As for desserts: a very limited choice; on the day of our visit there were only two. Although on the board inside the cafe itself there are already 4 different types written, including RUSSIAN NAPOLEON, but of course he was not there. In general, we didn’t leave hungry, but the cuisine was far from Russian. I do not recommend visiting.

I have to say we had dinner with a group of girls yesterday. Just like the first time, my steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The waitresses were always friendly and always made sure that we didn't sit there with empty glasses. The owner is always nice and ready for a joke. We won't be with you for the last time. Oh and finally, don't take the 1 star rating to heart. An emergency is an emergency and health always comes first. Unfortunately, there are always people who don't understand things like that, but I think you can do without people like that. Get well soon to your cook. Stay the way you are, you're doing great.

We went for breakfast on January 26th, 2025, it was plentiful and well stocked. What we really liked was that the staff was polite and accommodating; if something ran out we got it FRESHLY made immediately. This prevents senseless food waste caused by leftover food. I have been visiting the restaurant on and off for five years now and each time I have been more and more satisfied and spoiled in a culinary way. No matter whether in Kray or Schonnebeck, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Tasty and very varied, accompanied by friendly and attentive service staff, as well as a chat every now and then with the owners, who are actively involved. My last visit was on Mother's Day 2024, and I was stunned by what happened next. I'm all the more pleased that it's continuing and will visit the new restaurant for brunch later this month.

We were guests in the restaurant today. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service is really attentive and hospitality is very important here. Only the sanitary facilities could use a general overhaul. We'll definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

After we had dinner in the old restaurant last year and really enjoyed it, we took the opportunity to have brunch in the new restaurant today. It was really very varied, tasty and sufficient. It's rare to see such a child-friendly restaurant. Thanks for that! Both we and our daughter felt very comfortable. It's immediately familiar and everyone is very accommodating. Were celebrating with a Christmas party today. Food and service were great even though there was a lot going on! All I can say about the ambience is “Top”!!! In the upper area! Unfortunately I actually have to deduct half a star to 1 star from the 4 stars (only applies to the 2 bowling alleys/separate in the basement) Unfortunately very musty and cold/damp. Otherwise a very well-groomed and clean location!!!

We were there for Advent breakfast and everything was top notch. A great selection, even for vegetarians - if you don't find anything there, it's your own fault. Great service and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting and despite two larger parties it wasn't too loud or crowded. We felt very comfortable.

So we went to the breakfast buffet on the 1st of ADVENT with 3 people and a small child. I have to say that we were very satisfied. The service was very nice and asked about any requests. The little one got an egg and was happy. So all in all, everything you need for breakfast was there. If you missed anything else, it was provided immediately upon request. So gladly again!!!

We were there for the first time because the restaurant is within walking distance. After an hour of waiting, we received pale schnitzel and a burnt shish kebab that we couldn't eat. The complaint was not taken seriously by the boss. As an offer, he cut the black meat off the meat in the kitchen and served the now cold food back. Finally, €2.50 was charged for potatoes, as an extra charge for fries. Unfortunately, this was not communicated beforehand. Too bad.

This was our first time with 8P. for Advent breakfast and thought it was great. Decent bakery rolls, croissants, orange juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, all sorts of cold cuts, salads, Russian pasta salad, sausages, salmon on rocket in a glass... jams, fried eggs if desired, dessert, fruit platter... hot mead... whatever one more?!
