RELAX - FOOD, DRINKS & YOU in Hannover

A difficult assessment. First of all, the following should be said: I can't comment on the taste of the food as we didn't make it to dinner. The food we saw and smelled at (the few) neighboring tables seemed okay. The service was catastrophic. We sat in a bar/restaurant area with 3 tables occupied by customers for 20 minutes before a waitress wanted to take our order. The online map on which we had already selected food did not match the (shattered) map on site. The waitress didn't know the contents of the menu and had to go to the kitchen to make sure what was on offer and what wasn't. She was friendly and tried hard, but unfortunately clueless and overwhelmed. The service staff discussed the poor working conditions for all guests to hear. Overall, we didn't feel comfortable in this scenario, which is why we left the establishment hungry without ordering or consuming.

We have stayed in the hotel for a night and weren't bothered to look around for any restaurants. So we ended up in Relax. Prices were affordable but that comes with the quality of food. We have ordered schitzel and some chicken nuggets for kids. It was microwaved and most likely purchased in Rewe or Aldi. So not genuine, locally made from scratch. The staff was nice and helpful apart from one guy who used to giggle. I had the impression that he was discussing us, foreigners. So not too good. We were the only ones eating there at 5pm. Not sure if it's a good sign.

The ambience of RELAX is very good, with its distinct lounge character. The menu is clear, but offers something for every taste. The fitness salad, spiced up with chicken breast strips, was really good. The motto “Mercure Vintage”, which is very present in advertising, is unfortunately not coordinated with the staff. Both advice and competence were lacking here.

Pleasant atmosphere, nicely decorated, friendly and attentive service. The menu was manageable with a few dishes, in my opinion, with a hefty price. The food was good.

Nice atmosphere for an evening at the hotel bar. However, the Black Angus burger was very black and very well done. The steak knife was required for the burger bun.

I had a delicious cod with vegetables and couscous. The service was great too!
