RELAX - FOOD, DRINKS & YOU in Hannover

We ordered soups, one tomato and one coconut, and they were delicious! The waiter was very attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing.

A difficult review. First, let me say this: I can't comment on the taste of the food, as we didn't make it to the table. The food we saw and smelled at (the few) neighboring tables seemed fine. The service was disastrous. We sat in a bar/restaurant area where three tables were occupied for 20 minutes before a server was willing to take our order. The online menu, from which we had already selected food, did not match the (shredded) menu on site. The server didn't know the contents of the menu and had to first check with the kitchen to see what was currently on offer. She was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately clueless and overwhelmed. The servers debated the poor working conditions, audibly for all guests. Overall, we didn't feel comfortable in this scenario, which is why we left the establishment hungry without ordering or consuming anything.

We have stayed in the hotel for a night and weren't bothered to look around for any restaurants. So we ended up in Relax. Prices were affordable but that comes with the quality of food. We have ordered schitzel and some chicken nuggets for kids. It was microwaved and most likely purchased in Rewe or Aldi. So not genuine, locally made from scratch. The staff was nice and helpful apart from one guy who used to giggle. I had the impression that he was discussing us, foreigners. So not too good. We were the only ones eating there at 5pm. Not sure if it's a good sign.

The ambiance at RELAX is very good, with its distinct lounge feel. The menu is concise but offers something for every taste. The fitness salad, spiced up with strips of chicken breast, was really good. The "Mercure Vintage" slogan, which is very prominent in the advertising, is unfortunately not in keeping with the staff. Both the advice and expertise were lacking.

Pleasant atmosphere, nicely decorated, and friendly and attentive service. The menu was manageable, with a few dishes, and, in my opinion, quite expensive. The food was good.

Nice atmosphere for an evening at the hotel bar. However, the Black Angus burger was very black and very well done. The steak knife was required for the burger bun.

I had a delicious cod with vegetables and couscous. The service was great too!
