We've always had wonderful stays at the Relais & Châteaux Gut Steinbach. The hotel is exceptionally family-friendly and offers excellent value for money. The new spa area invites you to relax, while the expansive meadows and small hiking trails right next to the hotel are perfect for children. A beautiful place for a long weekend or a few relaxing days in the mountains – we'd love to come back!

To fully express our enthusiasm, I would have to spend half our stay writing everything down here. The service is second to none. It's incredible how caring and polite everyone is. And everyone knows it wasn't easy with us. Superb hotel, landscape, grounds... simply wow. Special thanks go to the gardener, the spa lady, and the service staff. The food is also truly delicious. The Hotel Gut Steinbach is truly worth a visit. This beautiful hotel is located just outside Reit im Winkl, amidst a beautiful natural area. The rooms are spacious and furnished in a country style, and I stayed in the main building. Very comfortable beds! Friendly staff at the reception desk. Thank you, Mr. Melzer, for the friendly check-in. I encountered a very welcoming team, and I also sensed a culture of appreciation for the employees. A lovely breakfast buffet! Very good dinner. The cuisine has been awarded a green star by the Michelin Guide for years. I'd love to come back!

Bad experience with the RV parking space. At €158 per night (yes, including spa and breakfast), I find it more than questionable to offer the parking lot as a parking space. This could have been mentioned when booking. We left and were very disappointed.

Positive: Very friendly staff, quiet location, good wellness area, comfortable beds, nice balcony. What we didn't like so much: Rooms are a bit dated for the price, breakfast is average, and coffee is poor. The location is a bit out of the way if you're always on the go, like we were. You have to carry your luggage to your room yourself. The restaurant is overpriced, especially in summer; no outdoor pool.

Unterkunft Haupthaus in die Jahre gekommen. Abgetretener Teppichboden im Flur und in allen Zimmer; äusserst unhygienisch für ein Hundehotel. Chalets top, da haben wir aber nicht gewohnt. Sauberkeit gut. Lage für Gäste mit Hunden top. Essen Brachland für Vegetarier und Allergikerinnen. Wenn man beim Essen eine Einschränkung hat, muss man in die Restaurants im Dorf ausweichen. Auswahl Frühstücksbuffet mittelmässig, nur beschränkt im 21. Jahrhundert angekommen. Teilweise lieblos und fantasielos angerichtet. Kaffee- und Teeauswahl top. Für diesen Preis dürfte man auch Sekt und eine Fischauswahl erwarten. Generell stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Arg überteuert: 22 Euro für einen Leberkas dürfte bayerischer Spitzenwert sein. Gerichte auf der kleinen. Karte überzeugen, diejenigen auf der Abendkarte nicht. SPA Zugang zum Fitnessraum nicht beschriftet. Hotelgäste irren herum. Sauber, Saunen gut unterhalten. Pool kann nach Saunagängen kaum benutzt werden, da Planschbecken für schreiende Kinder. Diese rasen auch abends über die Flure. Teeküche fehlt. 2 von 4 Duschen haben nicht funktioniert. Personal Sehr freundlich, vor allem die Reinigung. Im Service teilweise Sprachprobleme. Keine Koordination beim Frühstück.

Excellent hotel in every way! This was my second stay. The beautiful and quiet location is perfect for seminars and relaxing. The staff is extremely friendly without being overly pretentious or unnatural. Just the right mix for me! Highly recommended, and I'm looking forward to my next stay :)

Excellent food, very attentive staff, relaxing, quiet location, environmentally conscious when it comes to recycling and cooking. Overall very well run property. During this year's stay, we unfortunately couldn't use the balcony in the afternoon because wood fires were lit in the outdoor dining area and the intense smoke made it impossible to enter the balcony.

Mittelmäßige Erfahrung trotz hervorragendem Essen Wir waren als Gäste des Hotels mehrfach abends im Restaurant essen. Das Essen ist ohne Frage ausgezeichnet – daran gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Leider hat der Restaurantbesuch trotzdem keinen Spaß gemacht. Jeden Abend war es ein Stress, einen Tisch zu bekommen, obwohl im Hotel kaum etwas los war. Die Online-Reservierung funktionierte nicht, Anrufen war auch nicht immer erfolgreich, sodass ich jedes Mal persönlich runtergehen musste, um nach einem Tisch zu fragen. Zudem ist es nervig, dass man sich bereits zu Beginn des Aufenthalts für eine feste Essenszeit (18:00 oder 20:00 Uhr) entscheiden soll. Besonders unangenehm war ein Vorfall, bei dem der Kellner sichtlich genervt eine Kollegin anrief und gereizt nachfragte, ob unsere Reservierung wirklich stimme. Diese Situation war so unangenehm, dass ich am liebsten sofort gegangen wäre. Ein weiterer Punkt: Die Preise sind über die Jahre kontinuierlich gestiegen, was grundsätzlich in Ordnung wäre, aber es wirkt zunehmend so, als würde alles extra berechnet. Beispiel: Ein Kaiserschmarren kostet bereits 21 €, doch der Apfelmus dazu schlägt dann nochmal mit 4 € extra zu Buche – bei zwei Portionen also 8 € zusätzlich, was erst auf der Rechnung ersichtlich wurde. Insgesamt haben wir den Eindruck, dass sich das Hotel und Restaurant nicht mehr an normale Urlauber richtet, sondern an Gäste, die Wert darauf legen, ihren Status zu zeigen und auf Luxus und „Chi-Chi“ stehen. Wer ein entspanntes, unkompliziertes Essen in seinem Hotel genießen möchte, ist hier vermutlich nicht mehr an der richtigen Adresse. Schade. Trotzdem viel erfolg dem Gut Steinbach mit dem Poser Chi Chi Konzept..

Really great place if you're looking for something special but still cozy. The mostly very young staff are attentive and super friendly. The kitchen and the bar are excellent. We come regularly as we live very close by.

Doesn't keep what it promises... Positive: - Nice location, tasteful decor. Negative: - We are very disappointed with the kitchen - The staff is friendly but not professional - The wellness/sauna area is too narrow and poorly designed - Two out of three camping pitches cannot be described as such - Not suitable as a family hotel - but since it is still visited by families, it is also not suitable for those seeking peace and quiet - Price-performance ratio not justified If you would like to know the reasons for the above points, you can read them on Tripadvisor - Google has not published this detailed review.

We spent a few days at Gut Steinbach and overall enjoyed a pleasant stay. The fantastic location, the excellent service and the helpfulness of the entire staff are particularly positive. The sauna area and the wellness area are modern and very spacious - really a highlight! However, a few small things slightly diminished our impression. The balcony door in our room was broken, and there was potential for optimization in the spa area: towels that were too small, few storage options and too few timers in the saunas. Overall, the price-performance ratio is therefore rather mediocre. However, with a few small improvements this hotel could become a real top destination!

Wonderful hotel with excellent service and a very nice wellness area. We have felt very comfortable there several times and for me it is a real insider tip in a fantastic location on the edge of Reit im Winkl. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent cuisine and the friendly team, where you can tell that all the employees there are really motivated and trained. The only minor point of criticism is that the somewhat unfortunate breakfast room would benefit from a renovation or a new room layout. Conclusion: in my opinion one of the best Bavarian hotels in a fantastic location, both for holidays, conferences and wellness. Bravo!

Very nice, lovingly run hotel with an excellent breakfast and a quiet and spacious spa area. Surrounded by great nature, we were able to relax really well.

A big hat to the Relaix&Chateaux and manager Kienzle's team. Very accommodating, always friendly and helpful. Excellent food from breakfast to the special menu for pre-order. And last but not least, hassle-free charging of our electric car.

A place where the soul goes on vacation, fantastic hotel in a great, relaxing location with a view of the mountains ⛰️ fantastic panorama. The staff, from the waiters to the cleaners, are extremely friendly and helpful. The chef has mastered his art, which is a joy for the palate and the eye, excellent organic quality partly from our own production. A beautifully maintained wellness and sauna area round off this family-run hotel. Here the guest is welcome and you can feel it.

The best thing is the food, the pool and the surroundings. Management and owners are also top.

Gut Steinbach offers a beautiful, quiet location, with hiking trails to nearby waterfalls and mountain huts, as well as a fantastic restaurant and wellness area on the premises. As an expat from a country with a very strong service culture, I am often underwhelmed by the service, but the team at Gut Steinbach was on a different level from anywhere else I've stayed in Germany. From check-in, to the spa, restaurant, and breakfast, the staff were truly excellent. For me, they were the highlight of the stay - and that's high praise, because the restaurant was very good! The restaurant experience was exceptional, and combined fine dining quality food with alpine influences (and portion sizes - we were more than satisfied at the end of the evening). We tried the fish, pasta, and risotto dishes, and were very happy with all of them. The Kaiserschmarrn was quite good, but for me the only part of the meal that didn't quite live up to expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the wellness facilities as well - they were never overly full (both in the evening and during the day), were very clean, well thought out, and offered a good variety. We missed having a cold plunge pool or pond teach close to the hottest saunas, but that's definitely "jammern auf hohem Niveau".

Wir waren heute mit 4 Personen zum Essen im Restaurant. Bei den sehr hohen Preisen erwareteten wir etwas ganz Besonderes. Das Essen war aber nur allenfalls Durchschnitt. Die Weine waren außergewöhnlich teuer, der dafür erwartete Service war enttäuschend. Wir haben uns selbst nachgeschenkt. Alles in allem ein enttäuschender Abend, den man für den halben Preis wahrscheinlich woanders hätte schöner haben können...

Dieser Platz und dieses Haus ist ein Kraftort, der sicher zu jeder Jahreszeit ein Besuch wert ist...

Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne Lage,mit Blick auf die Berge. Für Wanderer gibt es unzählige Möglichkeiten ihren Tag zu verbringen , und der Partner der eventuell nicht Wanderbegeistert ist kann sich im Hotel verwöhnen lassen mit den zahlreichen Spa Angeboten. Man hat jeden Tag die Möglichkeit Massagen ect für den darauf folgenden Tag zu buchen ohne Zeitlichen Druck. Ein großes Lob an das Personal!!!! Man betritt das Haus ,und die Ruhe und freundliche Atmosphäre nimmt einen sofort den Alltagsstress. Es bleiben keine Wünsche offen und jeder hat immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht.

Supernettes , hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr schöne Ausstattung. Sehr gepflegte und saubere Zimmer. Man fühlt sich von Anfang an wohl. Wir konnten uns richtig erholen.... Sehr empfehlenswert für eine Auszeit 💕

Ein durch und durch schönes Hotel in guter Lage, das sehr viel zu bieten hat: einen exklusiven, hygienisch sauberen Wellness-Bereich mit einem großen Pool, viele Ruhe- und Entspannungsmöglichkeiten, zwei großen Saunen, Yoga-Kurse und Massagen, tolles Restaurant und abwechslungsreiches, sowie hochwertiges Frühstück, freundlicher und flexibler Service und Personal uvm. Der Yoga-Kurs bei Frau Wolfenstetter war entspannend, aber intensiv zugleich. Sie korrigiert die Übungen individuell mit viel Feingefühl und Profession. Top Trainerin! Insgesamt möchte ich dennoch ein paar klitzekleine (Kritik-)Punkte anmerken: bei der Restaurant-Karte am Abend hat mir persönlich die Auswahl an leichteren Gerichten, wie etwa Hähnchenbrust oder Putensalat, gefehlt. Das Essen ist recht deftig, aber ich denke üblich für die Region. Das Einzelzimmer, welches recht hochpreisig war, war relativ klein (dafür mit Balkon) und im Sauna-Bereich hat mit ein Kältebecken gefehlt (aber es gab Schnee), trotzdem 5 Sterne verdient.

Großartiges Hotel in wunderschöne Natur eingebettet - da kann man nur entschleunigen und entspannen. Wir waren 4 Tage mit 2 Kindern und Hund in einem der Chalets und es war rundum perfekt! Danke an alle Mitarbeiter, von Anreise über Restaurant und Spa, die unaufdringlich und herzlich zugleich sind und damit den Aufenthalt erst zu einem Urlaub machen. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Day Spa war super, leichtes Mittagsessen inkl. Verschiedene Saunen, Dampfbad, Indoorpool. Ruhige und erholsame Atmosphäre. Empfehlenswert auch die buchbaren Behandlungen.

Wir hatten zu zweit mit einem Kind eine Suite im Steinbacher Hof und waren mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden. Der Wellnessbereich mit Pool ist sehr schön, ruhig und nicht überlaufen. Leider mangelt es wie überall an gutem und ausreichend Personal. Eine Frühstücksbestellung kam nicht, Azubis (1. LJ) sind alleine in der Bar tätig. Die Getränke sind sehr überteuert. Im Restaurant kann ich es noch nachvollziehen, aber warum Getränke aus der Minibar zT das fünffache des Einkaufspreises kosten, erschließt sich mir nicht. Alles in Allem wird es vor allem beim Service nicht dem Anspruch eines Luxushotels gerecht und das löst man auch nicht durch künstlich hohe Preise.

Wir waren für eine Nacht vor Ort. Schönes Hotel mit einem erstklassigen Wellnessbereich. Jedoch war der Service etwa überkandidelt - wer es mag. Publikum teils dem Service entsprechend. Kinder wurden auf der Terrasse zum Spielen vom Kellner „weggescheucht“. Diese Dinge haben uns nicht so gut gefallen. Aber der Wellnessbereich wäre ein Grund, wiederzukommen.

Wir waren schon einige Male im Gut Steinbach und bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten eigentlich immer zufrieden. Die letzten beiden Aufenthalte waren leider eher enttäuschend: das Servicepersonal wirkt überfordert, das Badezimmer wurde unzureichend gereinigt, die Zimmer waren relativ kalt und im Spa Bereich fehlten über mehrere Stunden Handtücher. Überhaupt hat die Familiarität, die wir immer geschätzt haben, abgenommen. Der Trend geht leider in die falsche Richtung. Schade!

Essen und Service haben mich sehr enttäuscht. War dieses Mal sehr unzufrieden. Ich habe mir mehr erwartet, bei diesen Beträgen. Da war ich in kleineren Orten besser bewirtet worden wie dieses Mal im Gut Steinbach.

Super Hotel und Restaurant. Wir waren im Urlaub hier mit Halbpension, jeden Abend gab es ein köstliches Dreigängemenü. Service war sehr professionell und aufmerksam. Alles super, kann ich nur empfehlen
