Ratskeller Veitshöchheim in Veitshöchheim

This was my first time eating here today. The menu looked very good. We received a friendly welcome. However, some tables and chairs were moved around during service, which I found quite disruptive as a guest. The waiters' loud private conversations also bothered me more than they interested me. The food was excellent! Large portions at fair prices.

The service was very nice and friendly, the food was very good except for the spinach which unfortunately wasn't seasoned well. But otherwise everything was very tasty.

Really good food at very fair prices. Small menu with good dishes. The Cordon Bleu was handmade. The service is very friendly and truly attentive. The Ratskeller is exactly what I'd like the ambiance to be: cozy and not too dark. There are lovely touches like matching napkins and cutlery that feel good in the hand. The upholstered leather benches invite you to sit and relax. The only thing that I didn't like was the menu's presentation, which is a kind of shabby collection of leaflets. I'm looking forward to my next visit when I'm in Würzburg or Veitshöchheim.

We had a family celebration here on Sunday. Service was okay, food was above average, and the ambiance wasn't particularly noteworthy. What was worth mentioning, however, was the brusque and simply cheeky manner of one (older) waitress, aka service professional. Absolutely unfriendly in several respects. A small example: "If you don't take the high chair now, it's gone and you can get it yourself from back there." -> It wasn't in the way at all. Or: We had several appetizers (goat cheese with arugula, almost lovingly prepared): I was still eating - when the overly motivated lady was about to leave with half-full plates, because the main course (wedding dinner - not even remotely spicy, rather blandly seasoned) was now ready. -> If you're in a hurry or want to finish work at 1:15 PM, don't accept any guests!! I'll spare you further details - because this was simply not worthy of a restaurant with such standards. Absolutely not a recommendation - there are several other, more accommodating locations in Veitshöchheim.

The pork medallion was very dry and tough, and the spaetzle seemed dry and from the day before. The salad lacked oil. Better to go somewhere else next time.

We were here with a group of seven and were served very quickly. The food here is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly.

The waiter was extremely attentive, fulfilled our every wish and took great care of us. The food was pretty good. I'd be happy to go back.

Despite several simultaneous events, all of our guests' food arrived almost at the same time.

Unfortunately, the steaks were tough and the zander was much too dry, what a pity!

Stopped here on our company outing. The food was served quickly. The steak was overcooked and dry in my opinion. It was average, but nothing earth-shattering. The dessert served was very tasty, though. All in all, I can still recommend the Ratskeller.

Unfortunately, the trout was much too salty and the spinach was stringy.

Delicious food, but unfortunately, on a beautiful summer day in July (a Friday), you weren't allowed to sit outside, even though the tables and everything were set up. The interior could be made a bit more comfortable. It's rather chilly.

We visited the Ratskeller on New Year's Eve! Despite the large number of guests, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food we ordered arrived very quickly, and all nine people at the same time! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, and we celebrated happily until 10 p.m.! In our experience, the Ratskeller in Veitshöchheim is always a very good choice. A restaurant where you feel at home!

Nice place in the castle park to enjoy a glass of wine. The asparagus carpaccio was delicious. I recommend it.

We went there recently for dinner, and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location is very bright and spacious. I would come back anytime. I love good German cuisine, and you can definitely get it there.

We visited yesterday with a group of tourists. What can I say? Great food, no pre-made sauces, everything freshly cooked. Top quality. Despite three large groups, the service was prompt and, what's more, very courteous and friendly. We'd love to come back.

The fact that we haven't been here for a while was probably a mistake. We were there last week for a family celebration with 14 people and were completely satisfied. Everything worked out according to the previous arrangements (very professionally!), the food was at the table exactly at the agreed time. The staff was super friendly and always present, but not intrusive. You are also well advised here with children. As agreed, the children's food was brought to the adults' starters and they received it first. You would think that this goes without saying, but we experienced it the other way around at Easter (somewhere else!). The children, who were very hungry (because of the long waiting time), were the last ones, and when all the adults had already had their food, the waitress came and said that the children's food was not possible as ordered. Maybe it could have been noticed an hour in advance and the waiting time wouldn't have been delayed even further. That wouldn't have happened here in the Ratskeller. The operators have children themselves and it shows. We will definitely come back. We also found the price to be absolutely reasonable for the good quality and not overpriced. You should probably make a reservation if you come here

We arrived by ship, the way to the restaurant is not too far and easy to reach even if you have difficulty walking. Very friendly service, good food, the prices are okay for the level! But highly recommended!

Not my first time there. The food tasted very good. The price of the liver on the menu was also reasonable at €16.80. I'm not a big eater, but the plate looked a bit empty when it arrived. Three small pieces of liver with two apple slices hiding the liver and onions. They were served with five rosemary potatoes the size of cherry tomatoes. Unfortunately, I left the table still hungry. My recommendation is to increase the price to €22.50, but then order a normal portion, because the food there is good. The roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage is definitely filling.

The food is very tasty. A little higher priced, but as long as the quality is good, everything is good. Service has always been top notch. The restaurant has its own charm. A reservation is necessary. One thing remains to be said (if a larger company is there at the same time) it could be a little louder.

I can't get to Tucher-Bräu. That's why I didn't eat anything.

The food was very good and can only be recommended. A big compliment to the kitchen here. Unfortunately the service wasn't very friendly. We were there as a large group and were treated very rudely by the service staff. In addition, the water and wine glasses in particular were only partially clean. Streaks from the dishwasher shouldn't necessarily be visible. The general atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and feels very cozy. However, the toilets definitely need to be renovated. The condition is very poor and the cleanliness unfortunately left a lot to be desired. Here you feel more like you are in a public toilet than in a nice Bavarian inn.

Roast venison on Epiphany: dry meat covered with a slimy, slippery ready-made sauce. Brussels sprouts and bread dumplings completely overcooked. We left the plates - the waitress didn't think to ask us if we didn't like it...

The Ratskeller in Veitshöchheim is a huge restaurant, which unfortunately doesn't manage to create the ambience of a cozy restaurant. The Christmas decorations were very minimalist. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either. You could see at first glance that convenience food was popular and tasted better than canteen cuisine. The quick, friendly service was positive.

We went out to eat at Christmas and because it was very busy, the schnitzels weren't perfect. Otherwise everything was great.

The ambience reminded me more of a train station hall. Overall a bit cool.

We celebrated our civil wedding there with 25 people. The champagne reception outside was very nice, and the service person who was responsible for us was also very competent and friendly. BUT the food (buffet) was a disaster. The entire buffet wasn't particularly visually appealing. The chicken with the supposed chili pumpkin crust only had a piece of pumpkin on the meat, there was nothing crispy. The pike perch was a disappointment in terms of taste and I had three bones in one tiny piece. Almost all of the fish went back into the kitchen. The salad could not be removed from the bowl as the leaves were huge. But the worst thing was the beans and bacon. They weren't cooked and were floating in water. Almost all of the food was returned, but no one asked if anything was wrong. Unfortunately, we let Mr. Heilmann talk us into eating during the meeting. Everything sounded very high quality and appetizing. We actually had other food suggestions, which were all rejected! But the worst thing of all is that there is no response whatsoever to my calls, emails and callback requests (which I sent through Ms. Heilmann). We paid properly and on time. On our side, we acted fairly, but on the Ratskeller's side it's not the fine English way! Very disappointing! For the Heilmann family we were just a small fish, but for us it was supposed to be a very special day!

The place is cozy and located on a nice square, but we were very disappointed with the food. I had the chanterelle cream soup and a pancake filled with chanterelles. Not bad in taste per se, but very greasy and heavy. However, when I got outside, I felt very nauseous and threw up everything. My table companion also suffered from cramps and a 'heavy' stomach all evening. I think we were unlucky with our choice of dish… too bad!

I went yesterday with my wife, children, and in-laws. We sat in the courtyard outdoor seating area. Service was terrible. We were greeted by a rude and unfriendly lady. She seemed to think she was doing us a favour by allowing us eat in the restaurant even though we had booked in advance. The food was mediocre at best and much of it re-heated. To top off the experience there was a rat running around the courtyard and under our table at times. The rat was bad but the worst part of the experience was the terrible attitude of the lady that served us. I’d avoid this place at all costs. There are nicer restaurants nearby.

We found the food very disappointing, contrary to the reviews. Food was way too salty. In addition, the staff started smoking next to the terrace, right next to where we were eating. Not nice.

True art for the taste buds! ♥️ A little more expensive in some aspects, but you definitely get the quality you pay for! We really enjoyed the Argentinian rump steak. I particularly liked that we were asked how we wanted the steak and there was the option to choose between fries or a large salad as a side dish! I ordered the steak medium rare while my companion ordered rare, both steaks were perfect! The rocket salad with prawns in a crispy potato coating is also highly recommended, the prawns in particular were extremely delicious! The service was very attentive and friendly. Tip top service!

The food is tasty, relatively inexpensive. There is a park and a castle nearby, so after eating a meal it is worth going for a walk.

The fries were unseasoned and the sauce wasn't just ketchup from the bag. The salad was bland and the worst I have ever eaten. The cordon bleu was more of a roll rather than thin. All ready-made dishes and nothing homemade. The operation was very confusing and chattered nonsense. The waiter even wanted to ask us for a tip given the quality, which he didn't like. The only good thing was that he looked like the rapper Olexesh.

We were recently invited to a wedding reception in the Ratskeller. The food was good, but the rooms and furnishings left a lot to be desired. Weeds at the entrance, dirty windows, cobwebs and holes in the tablecloths and stained chairs. I didn't expect this for a restaurant that presents itself as upscale.

I had the pleasure of being booked as a DJ for a wedding in Ratskeller Veitshöchheim and renting out my photo mirror. The location is simply fantastic! The atmosphere was perfect for a wedding - cozy and elegant at the same time. The staff was super friendly and really tried to make sure everything ran smoothly. The acoustics in the room are excellent and of course that makes a big difference for the music. My photo mirror was a hit and the guests had a lot of fun with it. The combination of historical backdrop and modern equipment made the wedding unforgettable. I can only warmly recommend the Ratskeller Veitshöchheim – a top location for weddings and events!

I visited the Ratskeller as a guest at a celebration. The older waitress was very unfriendly. Ok, some are into it, in other countries restaurants are deliberately opened with this concept, which they then knowingly decide to do. Inappropriate in the case of a wedding reception. Especially since the orders weren't even processed properly... Forgotten drinks, dirty tea water, something floating around in the water and that before the tea was added to the water. During the night, parts of the ceiling in the women's toilet came loose due to a defect in the men's toilet above, which shortly afterwards resembled a small reservoir. Some covers of computer sockets, blind covers were missing or damaged, smoke detectors were just hanging from the wall by the cable, etc. Made a bit of a shabby impression. The food was okay after all.

In a short sentence: good all around The volume in the hall could be reduced with technology - but service from an experienced lady with a Berlin accent was very good and attentive. Food came quickly and hot even though the restaurant was full. Gladly again

We come to the Ratskeller often and have never been disappointed. Everything was perfect at our son's wedding too. The beautiful courtyard garden right next door is perfect for this.

Last weekend we were confirmation guests in the Ratskeller. Stately price, 45 euros per place setting. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The service was more than unfriendly... well, but at least the food wasn't good. At the main course buffet there was either the meat or the side dishes...unfortunately there was a delay! A pity
