The Ratskeller in Heilbronn offers a stylish ambiance combined with outstanding customer service. No request goes unfulfilled. Even a visit from the owner at your table is not uncommon. I was there with my girlfriend for her birthday, and the owner remembered and congratulated her. Delicious regional cuisine from the Heilbronn area, paired with the style and charm of the city. An absolute recommendation for anyone who enjoys fine dining. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. They are always ready to listen, making you feel truly cared for.

Yesterday was our first time at the Ratskeller. We had tripe soup and a salad as a starter, followed by the Hauptmann roast beef and Heilbronn's signature dish. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. The meat was incredibly tender, the sauces amazing. Mr. Mosthaf was a wonderful host. He was incredibly welcoming. We will definitely be back. We visited this restaurant for the second time yesterday – unfortunately, our visit was quite disappointing compared to our first. The main problem was the timing: the food arrived, but it got cold because the side dishes were served much later. With six people, the table was also far too small, leaving us with hardly any room for our plates. There were also some negative points regarding the service. The small salad, listed as an appetizer on the menu, arrived only at the very end. When I inquired about it, I was rather rudely told that we hadn't ordered it as an appetizer – in my opinion, they could have at least asked. In total, we were served by three different servers, all of whom seemed very inattentive and overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't even half full. After our very positive first visit, our expectations were high, but unfortunately, they weren't met this time.

We had a lovely and cozy evening at the Ratskeller with delicious food and super friendly service. We had Sauerbraten with homemade spaetzle and tender Tafelspitz. It was really good and lovingly presented. It wasn't cheap, but the quality was good, even if the portions could have been a bit larger. We'll definitely be back; we loved it!

Ratskeller in Heilbronn – finally, a restaurant that lives up to its reputation After several rather disappointing experiences in upscale restaurants, I was initially skeptical whether the Ratskeller in Heilbronn would truly live up to its reputation. The deciding factor for my visit was the classic Wiener Schnitzel, served here with original veal – a rarity in the region. Right from the start, a welcome from the kitchen was served: fresh baguette with a delicately seasoned leek cream. The bread was noticeably high quality – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside – and harmonized perfectly with the spicy cream, which was very well-balanced in flavor. A truly successful start to the meal. I officially started with a vitello tonnato as an appetizer, and it was immediately clear that the kitchen knows its craft. The combination of fine meat and the creamy tuna sauce was perfectly balanced. I was particularly impressed by the fresh basil with its intense aroma and the finely chopped vegetables, which gave the dish an extra freshness. The Wiener Schnitzel was the expected highlight of the evening: tender, wafer-thin, and perfectly fried with a light, golden coating, just as you'd expect. As a side dish, I chose homemade spaetzle with gravy, which can be added free of charge upon request. The spaetzle impressed with their irregular shape and authentic flavor—clearly homemade. The sauce was aromatic, robust, and also seemed homemade, with recognizable ingredients and a delicate texture. To finish, I chose a chocolate crème brûlée with lemon sorbet and fresh berries. The bitter note of the crème brûlée contrasted beautifully with the sweet and sour freshness of the sorbet. The berries—including pomegranate seeds—provided fruity accents and a pleasant crunch. A well-thought-out and flavorfully balanced dessert. Overall, the evening was a thoroughly positive surprise for me. The value for money was absolutely spot on, and the service was professional, friendly, and attentive. I also really enjoyed the ambiance—a successful blend of old-fashioned elegance and modernity. Even the wait times were nothing to complain about. For me, the Ratskeller is one of the few upscale restaurants that not only shines with its name and appearance, but also delivers on the plate and in its service. I can recommend it without reservation.

The atmosphere is friendly, the food excellent and freshly cooked; nothing we ordered was pre-prepared. The cutlet, mushrooms, and homemade fettuccine were excellent... We were on a day trip to Heilbronn. The Ratskeller, conveniently located in the center, caught our eye. It had a very nice, shaded terrace. But the interior was also spacious and pleasant. Excellent service: friendly and attentive. Very nice! And the lunch menu was excellent: I had herring with fried potatoes, and my wife had a salad with salmon and pike-perch (it was a Friday). Very tasty and reasonably priced.

The three of us spontaneously went to the Ratskeller without a reservation. We received a very friendly welcome and were immediately given a great table. The food was fantastic, and the service was very friendly and accommodating! A thoroughly enjoyable and enjoyable evening!

We had lunch there. I had a Swabian roast beef with onions and spaetzle, and my wife had a sour cream roast. Everything was delicious! We'll definitely come back next time!

The start was already promising – the kitchen greeted us with bread and a truly delicious spread, which perfectly whetted our appetites. For starters, I had the beef carpaccio – tender, delicately seasoned, and beautifully presented. My main course, the Wiener veal schnitzel with spaetzle and fried potatoes, was a real treat: crispy on the outside, tender as butter on the inside, the side dishes homemade and perfectly seasoned. The side salad was also fresh and lovingly prepared. I would particularly like to highlight the service: The staff was very friendly and attentive. One gentleman in particular, whom I consider the boss, regularly walked past our table, always had a funny remark on his lips, and created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. You could tell the passion they put into their work. I'll definitely be back – a clear recommendation and a full 5 stars!!

Classic menu. Friendly, competent service. We enjoyed seasonal asparagus dishes and a savory mousse for dessert. The dishes are perfectly freshly cooked and fried using regional ingredients. Unfortunately, I didn't dare take any photos.

Die Karte hat eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Das Essen war sehr lecker und vom Geschmack gut abgestimmt. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Wenn wir wieder einmal in Heilbronn sind, wissen wir, wohin wir essen gehen werden.

Wir waren mit der Arbeit zum Mittagessen dort. Ich habe ein Wiener Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Das Wiener hat nach nichts geschmeckt, die Panade war total fad. Die Bratkartoffeln waren matschig und nicht kross gebraten. Für den Preis von 29€ eine Frechheit. Der Service war leider auch ausbaufähig. Die Dame war kurz angebunden und wenig freundlich. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt für mich nicht.

Food was okay but at these prices I expected better quality. If a schnitzel costs 30 euros, it must be perfect, too thick and the breading wasn't crispy. The lamb was also over 30 euros, almost tasteless and if you were lucky you would get 150g of meat.

Had lunch there. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very nice and the staff was very, very nice. However, I deducted one star because of the price structure, especially the high prices for the soups. 9€ for a normal soup is a bit borderline.

There were four of us with a dog today, just great! Great atmosphere, the dog was immediately provided with water, the waitresses were all professionals and super nice! There is nothing wrong with the food and drinks! Price-performance is great! Thank you for the great evening!

It starts in the afternoon at 5 p.m. Heilbronn's favorite dish can do something. Depending on your level of popularity, the boss will greet you with a Bavarian kiss-bussi or “well, you sweeties”. Definitely worth a visit!

We wanted to do something special and the Ratskeller made it possible for us to have a very nice evening. The cuisine is very good but the dessert was really one of the best I've had in a long time.

Le Ratskeller jouit d'une grande renommée dans la ville de Heilbronn, notamment de par sa localisation, au rez-de-chaussée de l'hôtel de ville. Il dispose ainsi non seulement d'une grande salle intérieure, mais également d'une terrasse juste en contrebas de l'horloge astronomique et du carillon, ce qui permet de profiter du spectacle à 20h00 par exemple. La carte est riche, bien que les spécialités régionales se comptent au final sur les doigts d'une main, ce qui est un peu regrettable. Les prix sont relativement élevés, mais la qualité des produits à elle seule ne pourrait les justifier. Ne paierait-on donc pas aussi l'emplacement ? 🤔 D'autant que le service est catastrophique: pas moins de 5 serveuses se sont succédées, dont une qui a renversé une boisson sur l'un des convives sans même qu'un geste commercial ne soit fait derrière, l'attente a été interminable, les plats sont arrivés au compte-gouttes, de sorte que certains convives ont dû manger pendant que les autres attendaient toujours leur plat, sans quoi le leur aurait été froid... Bref, ce n'était pas une grande réussite. Pas sûre donc de réitérer l'expérience ici.
