The soup tastes absolutely delicious. But I'm glad I only chose the "regular" version and not the spicy one, as that one is spicy enough. Nice service.

The taste is excellent, but the quantity could have been a bit larger. Service was very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere of yesteryear has been preserved.

Delicious spicy goulash, good, fast service

On Saturdays, we always enjoyed coming to the Puszta Hütte with colleagues for a cozy end to the week. The soup is a true classic. Unfortunately, the immediate surroundings have changed significantly in recent years, so people no longer feel as comfortable there and tend to avoid the outdoor area. It's a shame that such a traditional place in Cologne is losing its atmosphere because of this. We hope the situation improves in the future, as we always enjoyed coming here.

Rustic and cozy. SPECIAL FEATURE: A dedicated table for wheelchair users. I was here today with my girlfriend. The waiter, René, was very friendly and accommodating. The goulash was delicious and pleasantly spicy. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

As simple as it is delicious. Totally authentic and friendly. Shortly before closing time, we were warmly welcomed and served.

"Holy cow, that's hot!" was my first thought when I tried it. But spoonful by spoonful, it became milder, and the sauce was creamy and pleasant. The meat was tender as butter, perhaps a little under-served for my taste, but overall, it was perfect – especially considering the price. The roll was crispy, and the second helping was a real treat. All in all, it was a fantastic experience at the Putza Hütte in Cologne. And when a restaurant has been around since 1948, that shows they've been doing things right for a long time.

Just a goulash soup that's overpriced for so little meat. The street in front of the restaurant is heavily frequented by homeless people.

Portion unfortunately much too small for the price :( but service top

We were there for the first time today. We took the wrong entrance, but we were still greeted warmly. I have to honestly say I highly recommend it. Soup and seconds. We were full. We'd gladly come back.

People here are asking about the ambiance. Very plain, but that's part of the Puszta Hut. The goulash was delicious as always, but the entire meat filling fit on ONE soup spoon. Two portions plus a Coke and an apple spritzer cost €19. A very steep price. The menu displayed and its prices are no longer accurate and outdated. Sorry, but when you look at everything as a whole, it's no longer worth the price. We will refrain from visiting the Puszta Hut in the future after many years of regular visits.

I have been there few times. Last time didn't eat in but got the can. Very good flavours. I remember beef to be more tender. This time it felt a bit on hard side. But still overall pretty solid. Always on point with flavour

Super fast service. You don't have to wait long for a refill or a new drink. The goulash was super tasty and very spicy.

I've been going there for over 50 years. It's authentic Cologne and they serve the best Hungarian goulash, and for the aftertaste, they even give you another bowl of sauce.

Any time I'm back in Köln, this is a staple for me. I could honestly eat it every day. It's nothing fancy; the servers have always been easy/friendly, the atmosphere isn't necessarily cozy, but it's comfortable and warm. Goulash is delicious, bread is perfect, and the beer - chef's kiss. I always leave fat and happy.

So, this place was recommended to me by locals because of the goulash, which tastes absolutely amazing, but the price-performance ratio is a total disaster and a disgrace. Almost €7 for a small bowl of goulash, and we don't even need to mention the second helping. The owner should make the portions bigger or lower the prices.

Considering it's supposed to be Cologne's most famous goulash restaurant, it's a real joke. No card payments, there are always homeless people outside asking for money, and the portions are unfortunately very small.

I recommend it to all tourists, the place is atmospheric, steeped in history. The cafe was opened after World War II. The food hasn't changed since then. But for me, there's too much pepper in the dish. Very spicy.

Unfortunately, too many beggars and addicts come to the table asking for money and cigarettes. The soup is good, but spicy. Kölsch is very good.

Absolutely delicious goulash, I dare say it was the best I've had in a restaurant! Our waiter, Jesse, was also very accommodating and really friendly, and to my surprise, a One Piece fan like me. I'm not so enthusiastic about this portion of goulash anymore. It's still very tasty, but there's very little meat. The meat content used to be higher. You can clearly see that in the photo.

A Cologne institution that serves just one dish: goulash with bread rolls. The goulash has a pleasant, slightly spicy flavor. There's no alternative for vegetarians. The restaurant is rustically decorated, and the food is served in no time. The staff is very friendly and, in a typical Cologne style, a bit cheeky in a funny way.

Anyone who loves goulash should try this. Simply unmistakably delicious.

The goulash itself was great, but very oily and spicy. Unfortunately they weren't asked whether with or without oil. Personally, I was missing some mild cream to tone down the spiciness.

Goulash. And drinks. Nothing else. Aaaber: the best goulash I know. And inexpensive too. Always worth a stop for a goulash in Cologne. There is also a free second helping (only sauce - but it's really awesome). Definitely try it out! Attention: note opening times. Closed later in the evening and all day on Sundays.

A very cozy and traditional looking restaurant! They pretty much only serve goulash and beer but boy are those delicious and they go incredibly well together! Also one of the cheapest eats you can get

Unfortunately, that's no longer what it was. The taste has deteriorated a lot. Service is still super nice employees. But unfortunately you can hardly enjoy the food when you are outside. There are always junkies walking around who appear very unkempt. Who smell from meters away and want to beg for money every time at the table. You can hardly enjoy the food. I had to leave mine alone.

So pustahütte is a household name for every Cologne resident... I went there with my father 45 years ago as a child and the goulash was always great. In Kölle the Köbes is king... But the woman who served us really did a lot of work when it came to dogs... Okay, she's afraid of dogs but then you don't need to make such a fuss. We asked where to sit, they could have seated us somewhere other than in the middle of the restaurant, only to cause a huge fuss every time we walked past because the dog was sitting there. She could have sent her colleague or placed us in the back corner. I mean, this isn't a stand-up comedian show. Every time she came past our table she did some nonsense about the dog. "Oh, I was so scared" or "Oh, I'm so scared" This has to get better... You can't scare away the guests just because you're annoying everyone with your fake dog panic... Ridiculous! We didn't take a second helping or a second or third Kölsch and just left

What's so great about that? Thin soup with countable meat crumbs. Second helping without meat crumbs. As natives of Cologne, we ask ourselves who gives positive reviews. Unbelievable. The first picture is Puszta Hut, the second is the local gourmet restaurant. Both for €6.90. I honestly wonder if the celebrities who express their positive comments on autograph cards (which are everywhere) were all funny...

Great Goulasch, very delicious. Served (presentation) in a very simple way (it is not the best I have seen, but the flavor was great and that is what matters. In fact, I repeated, because it was not a large quantity. It is the only dish in the restaurant (family tavern type). They serve you immediately. There is no waiting and it is very close to Schindler Gasse, one of the streets with the highest concentration of shops. Very central and economical.
