Everything was great, food was delicious.

My wife, our dogs, and I just wanted some ice cream in this weather and were surprised by the large selection. We got HUGE scoops and another one free. Even our dogs got some. They're super sweet here, and the service is great.

We arrived at 9:30 in the evening and were treated to delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere and especially the service are absolutely recommendable. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area. Thank you very much!

The other flavors are undoubtedly delicious as well. The price is reasonable, and you can also pay by card. One small point of feedback: the bill wasn't clear. But I'd love to come back.

The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is always very friendly. We've been there many times and will continue to go back. There's something for everyone, whether meat, vegetarian, or vegan – everything tastes great. Special requests are also no problem. What's especially nice is that you can adjust the spiciness of most dishes to suit your taste.

Great food, good service, and centrally located near the church and Duderstadt's main square. We were given a starter plate with bread and three sauces, which isn't always the case. The portions are generous, and the staff are very friendly.

We were there twice during our stay (6 days) and the food was delicious each time.

We ordered meal number 115 to go without rice and wanted an extra loaf of bread... We were charged the full price and the bread was extra. I find that beyond petty!! The food tastes very good. Please consider charging differently in the future, especially since we get food there often. As of June 22, 2025. The food has become much more expensive overall and doesn't taste nearly as good as it did two years ago. The salad that came with it today was abysmally bad. Tomatoes with the green parts still attached, almost only greens, no orange slices, and no house dressing, which was always delicious, but they just poured oil over it. Eeek.

Absolute enrichment for Duderstadt

Unfortunately, I have to change my positive review as of today (June 2025). The prices have increased significantly, and the food no longer tastes good at all. What a shame.

We've been eating at this Indian restaurant every now and then for a few years now, and unfortunately, we're disappointed because it's getting worse and worse. The portions are getting smaller. Some time ago, they used to serve a small appetizer per table with some bread and various dips. They don't serve that anymore. Then today, lunch was served outside on metal trays with various containers, which reminded us of a retirement home or prison. The pretty bowls and plates are apparently no longer available. There were only two of us today, but it still seemed impossible to serve together, and my friend let her food get cold so we could eat together 5 minutes later. And finally, I asked for the leftovers to be packed up (and had saved extra sauce for myself.) But they only packed up the leftover rice and meat, without the sauce 😞. Overall, today was rather disappointing for me, and there's definitely room for improvement. At €75 for two people, you'd expect a bit more effort.

We ordered to pick up (Butter Chicken & Palak Paneer). I don't know the last time I had such delicious butter chicken. Both dishes were convincing, and the home-baked bread also tasted great. Thanks, I'm happy to pay a slightly higher price for that. 🙏

I have never been served such a bad Biriyani dish before. There was rice with tomato sauce and chicken, completely tasteless. What a shame!

It's a shame that a confirmed reservation was not canceled by the restaurant! The restaurant announced a temporary closure of the restaurant on its homepage (as seen by chance when looking at the menu). The confirmed reservation has not been canceled. It's bad when you drive 100 KM for free without knowing. Unfortunately, food cannot be rated. Just very poor communication.

Super tasty and for me as a layman, original Indian food, clean place, staff very friendly, starter/main course/dessert/2 soft drinks 38€ which is hard to find these days given the quality. The only thing that could be improved a bit is the ambience (make the table decorations more modern and artificial flowers are OUT), and I also find the chairs very uncomfortable. Otherwise immediately again!!!!!

You shouldn't immediately judge the quality of the food from its external appearance. Dan Punjabi Dhaba really surprised us with a very tasty lamb or vegetarian dish. Well seasoned, no meat was spared, especially with the lamb. The green chili paste is fantastically spicy, but be careful. The interior didn't impress us visually, but the look at the plate made up for the rather weak ambience. Note: Unfortunately, the lunch menu is only valid Tuesday-Fri

Very nice staff, but the chicken was very tough and the sauces for the main course were rather bland. Price performance is rather poor. At the Indian place around the corner (don't live there), where the price is 10 euros per meal (the average here is 15 euros) you get high-quality main courses that will more than surprise you.

Our absolute favorite restaurant: The service is great, there is a large selection of vegan dishes, all of which are delicious and the hospitality we are always greeted with is incomparable. We can warmly recommend the 164 & 174 in particular!

I had an Indian soup and a Tandor dish. Both were very good and plentiful, although the soup was much larger than I expected.

The food is really delicious and inexpensive. The service and the ambience are also very good. We always feel comfortable and can only recommend the restaurant.

The naan bread was missing when ordered but was charged for. And my lam dish consisted of four pieces of lam, the rest was just potatoes and sauce and for so much money.

Located in the main road but a nice part of town the restaurant has an outdoor & Indoor eating area...it is quite a large restaurant...the service is friendly...the foods ok offer are excellent... certainly one of thee best restaurants in Germany to eat Currys...the prices are reasonable & I had the mutton vindaloo as well as mutton biryani...both were excellent & with generous portions, prices are reasonable...the restaurant is always full so book in advance if you can...there is a wonderful selection of all types of meat from lamb, veggies, fish etc...its a very comprehensive menu...will definitely be going back when next in Germany...

This Sunday I dined there all alone around 12:30. The city was packed for the apple and pear market. The weather was lovely, so great... It was still pleasantly quiet, but later it filled up. It was delicious! A chicken soup, followed by a salad with chicken, mushrooms, wonderfully fresh ingredients and a delicious dressing. Kitchen great, service great...Clean, fast, polite...I have to learn to eat alone, but it wasn't unpleasant. Always happy again!

When we entered the restaurant we immediately noticed an unpleasant smell of urine or toilets. We walked down the hall, past the toilets and this smell accompanied us to our place. We had to wait a very long time for our food. The children got their food first and when they were finished our food came. It's just a shame that the kids were bored because they were already finished. Most of our food was already cold and my partner had a piece of metal (like a metal sponge) in his food. We let the waitress know, but we still don't know whether it was included on the bill because we didn't get a bill when we paid with the card. Later I wanted to give my little son some vanilla ice cream for dessert. Unfortunately, I couldn't give it to him later because after a few spoonfuls I noticed that there was apparently rum or rum flavor in the ice cream...which wasn't stated! Conclusion: Unfortunately, this was our first and last visit to this restaurant.

We've always wanted to eat here and today was the day. There was a small starter with 3 dips beforehand. I really like spicy food and that's why I ordered it here. The food was tasty, but the spiciness was pleasant, not extremely spicy. But overall I recommend it.

The shop is very loud and the tables are very close. Noise like at the train station. The kitchen smoke or smell of grease wafted across the room. There was probably a bit of confusion when serving, the wrong sauces were served. The food I had was a joke. Was a bowl of rice with flavor, the rest I had to look for. Drinks totally overpriced. Everything had no quality! Great, don't pay at the table, just when you leave. I did the math later and I'm sure they already included the tip without asking. Not again!!

This review is only for Pork Dhansak : a unplanned spontaneous travel from Goettingen to Duderstadt was a nice surprise. Apart from the city , the item (pork dhansak) surprised me . A rich blend of flavors and a perfect balance of the ingredients used gave me a foodgasm . Will come for this dish again . 😍 loved it

The food was very tasty and sufficient. About €15 for chicken korma with bread and rice. Ended up having even more sauce left over than the bread and rice. You can also eat the ice cream very well here. The service was good and I can only judge the ambience outside. It was very pleasant and relaxed. Gladly again.

After I was able to visit a few Indian restaurants and traveled through India for 6 months, I was excited about the Indian restaurant in Duderstadt. Unfortunately, the food was largely unseasoned and therefore not typically Indian in flavor. I had the spinach potato dish. I later found out from friends that the quality varies greatly. Sometimes super tasty, sometimes not tasty at all. Unfortunately I don't think it's appropriate given the prices. It's a shame actually.

Ice As tourists, we were lured by the large ice cream cone. Unfortunately that was our mistake. The ice cream menu itself looked good and we ordered a strawberry sundae with yoghurt ice cream and a Malaga sundae. We were very disappointed with what was brought after ages. The strawberries were overripe/old, the red sauce didn't taste like strawberries at all and the yoghurt ice cream didn't taste like yoghurt. I've never left an ice cream sundae standing. This time already. The Malaga cup ice cream was edible, but it was topped with amaretto so it took some getting used to. The negative highlight, however, was the terrible service. The waitress stated the price to be paid and completely ignored the fact that the strawberry cup was almost untouched. No questions, no regrets, nothing. Absolute indifference. That was very disappointing. There are several ice cream parlors in Duderstadt. Go there if you want ice cream.

Hello Unfortunately I have to agree with the negative reviews. I wanted to get my wife interested in Indian cuisine. Unfortunately things went wrong... I always pos myself in Berlin. Experiences made... I am proud to be from Brandenburg. To the map... huge... (Grill plate, GRILL MIX) €24... disappointing. Chicken lumps, lamb lumps very dry,... a sauce?, rice, no garnish nothing, nothing., nothing. The word grill plate should be protected...never this restaurant again. My wife had 3 pieces of chicken drowned in gravy. We had to share 1 bowl of rice, oh well... a hint of dried onions on the rice... maybe accidentally... dropped on it. Well,...we'll never see tourists again anyway. Grill mix... Haha haahha...

Super delicious food. The service is really nice, but a bit overwhelmed. After 2 years now there is an update. The food is still really tasty and the service is just great. On weekends you should reserve a table in advance. What I personally really like is that you get hot food here all the time. We always enjoy coming here.

As fans of Indian cuisine, we were looking for a good Indian restaurant. We came across the Punjabi Dhaba in Duderstadt via Google. The almost entirely positive reviews convinced us that we made the journey of around 45 minutes. The restaurant, centrally located in Duderstadt, looks rather inconspicuous from the outside, but has an immensely large interior. Which, to our surprise, was almost full to capacity. To briefly mention it - we were there on a Friday evening and also reserved a table in advance. The ambience of the restaurant is typical of Indian restaurants - colorful and cozy. The staff was consistently nice. The menu was very diverse and left nothing to be desired - vegetarians and vegans also get their money's worth here. In addition to Chicken Palak and Fish Madras, we ordered a tandoori dish from an Indian restaurant for the first time - until now we were always worried that we wouldn't get enough of it :-) . Well, this time we tried it and it was a dream. Our Chicken Tikka Tandoori was not only very plentiful (there was a lot of meat) but also incredibly flavorful. We have never had such perfectly seasoned chicken. To our surprise, this dish was served with plenty of sauce and of course (as usual in Indian restaurants) rice and naan. However, we didn't try the sauce at all because, on the one hand, the portion was very generous, but on the other hand, we didn't want to spoil the great taste of the chicken. Without going on for too long, we can sum up by saying that all the dishes (we had two starters) tasted excellent and were plentiful even for overeaters. Everything was appetizingly prepared and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The prices for the food and drinks were absolutely reasonable - our most expensive dish at €17.90 was the tandoori dish, the other main courses were significantly lower. Our conclusion: We can recommend the Punjabi Dhaba without reservation and will definitely come back soon

The food was a bit disappointing. Went there because of the reviews no doubt the location is beautiful, staff is friendly but the food did not taste that good. Also it looked like, a lot of food colour was used.

We were 4 adults and 4 children. Wanted to go and have some ice cream. After a long wait we were allowed to order. It's okay that with 8 sundaes not all of them are ready at once, but the first cup was served after about 5 minutes, the last after about 40 minutes... 1 sundae was prepared incorrectly (kivisorbet instead of strawberry-kivi-yoghurt). When we wanted to return the cup, the waiter brought a(!!) strawberry and cut it on top. Since the children were already ready, we didn't want to keep them waiting any longer and accepted the ice cream sundae. When it came to the bill, the waiter asked for an extra 5 euros for the 1 strawberry on top! The ice cream sundae cost 8.50 euros... we immediately noticed that he was ripping us off and settled the amount ourselves, where it turned out that the waiter wanted to cheat us out of another 10 euros. Ice cream was tasty and the children didn't like it, we'll never go there again.
