Il SAPORE, Bistro, Bar & Pizzeria in Duderstadt

An hour's wait for three pizzas to go. The service wasn't particularly friendly and didn't even apologize for the long wait. The pizzas were nothing special and oversalted (salami is already salty). This is about a pickup order; I can't comment on the service for dine-in.

We didn't order a steak with a sloppy, ready-made sauce. It was one of the worst steaks we've ever had. Steak connoisseurs know what to expect. The owner herself was also very arrogant. We were convinced the sauce was definitely a ready-made sauce, and it tasted accordingly—far too salty, like you get from those big cans and packets. I made it clear I would give a fair review. Her response: she didn't care about internet reviews, they didn't interest her. You can eat there, but please, not a steak. The salad that came with the meal only arrived after we asked for it several times. The dressing was also tasteless... unfortunately. Well, after all the back and forth, we did get an espresso. The first server was very nice.

I was discriminated against on the phone when making a reservation because of my last name. Ridiculous. I'll never go there again.

Our evening at Il Sapore was very spontaneous, and despite the busyness, we managed to get a small table after a short wait at the bar. Unfortunately, it wasn't the table we were initially promised, but the food was still delicious 😉. We had two starters (carpaccio and delicious cheese) with freshly baked bread. It was a true treat, and we will definitely be back! My tip: Reserve a table in advance; this small, cozy restaurant is quite busy, and for good reason!

Honestly, I've rarely eaten so well! The food was truly delicious, authentic Italian, and super fresh. You can simply taste the love that goes into the cooking here. 😍 The service? Super friendly and attentive, no long waits, everything spot on. The atmosphere in the shop is also really chilled—you immediately feel at home. Excellent food and fantastic staff! Update from July 23, 2025: We came here a second time, and just like the first time, everything was delicious. The manager even recognized us and took a moment to chat while we were paying, even though the place was packed. Restaurateurs with heart!❤️ Regarding price and quantity, all I can say is, I have three teenagers who are going through a growth spurt, and they barely managed their portions. €87 for five people, and everyone was more than full, is very fair, I think. We've paid almost double on occasion and weren't as full or happy. We're thrilled and would love to come back from Kassel to enjoy your food!

Unfortunately, I didn't know that the price of €13.50 only includes a children's portion. The bowl isn't even half full. Addendum to the bistro's response. Unfortunately, your statement is completely incorrect. Firstly, it's not more expensive anywhere else, and secondly, we've ordered this dish several times, and it usually costs twice as much. So your argument falls flat.

What a great restaurant! Our starter: Bruschetta. We haven't had such excellent quality in a long time. Main courses: Pizza Tonno and Pizza Contadina, both of which were also excellent. Crispy crust and very tasty toppings. Dessert: Tartufo ice cream, also of very good quality, simply delicious. So why go far away when the good stuff is so close! Today was our first time there, but certainly not the last!

Reservations are recommended, and food is also available to pick up yourself.

We were there yesterday with the soccer team. We were absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere was very pleasant, the food was excellent and the service was top notch. We were particularly impressed by the flexibility. Even though we came with more people at short notice, everything was organized without any problems. Absolutely recommended! We'd love to come back.

My very personal opinion on my visit today. I was disappointed and will definitely not visit the restaurant again. The service was nice, so I kindly gave it one star. The food didn't work at all. First there were some dishes that weren't there and weren't mentioned and then the food smelled artificially of Maggi and the chicken fillet was breaded days ago and was thin and hard. My girlfriend had pasta with no taste. The price was completely okay, but I would rather pay €5 more and have fresh food and be able to eat with pleasure. Ok, the side salad was fine. It was fresh. My girlfriend said the pizzas were better, but unfortunately I don't like them at all. But everyone has to have their own experiences, they cannot be passed on. My husband and I went to eat at Il Sapore today on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist. We were originally supposed to have a smaller dining table in the back of the restaurant; After a larger dining table became available, it was offered to us and we happily accepted this offer. Very attentive! My husband ordered a pizza as the main course and I ordered the mussel stew in white wine. The starter came very quickly, our main courses came appropriately later. All dishes were excellent, namely very well seasoned, especially the (plentiful!!) mussel pot was, for my taste buds, extremely tasty. Gladly again.

A real insider tip!! Mega-tasty food, great service, great value for money!! We were there on a Friday evening (make a reservation!), it was completely booked and yet the atmosphere was really nice and cozy! We had pizza scampi and pizza bolognese, both really well topped and super tasty!! The Caipi was also great! For dessert we had a wonderfully delicious mascarpone and strawberry cake😋 Addendum: We've been here for dinner two more times now and are totally thrilled again!! The pizza ruccola and proschutto, for example, were fantastic👍 as were the chocolate cake and the strawberry tiramisu! Service type

We've eaten there several times and it's always been good. Today we ordered take away. The pizza looked very small for 28cm so we measured it: 26cm.. The bruschetta was not dressed. The carbonara is lumpy and unfortunately packaged bacon was used.

Ambience is quite nice, but unfortunately very, very warm in summer and hardly any seats outside. The service was good, there is nothing to complain about. Nice and quick too. The pizza was quite salty, but otherwise okay. However, the Caipirinha was unfortunately nothing other than lime water. This was actually (unfortunately) by far the worst Caipirinha I've ever drunk. Shame about the money...

A very good Italian restaurant. We had antipasti as a starter and mussels in white wine sauce. Both highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Point deduction for the ambience, as the light in the restaurant was a bit too bright. More candles for warmer light would be great.

Nach langer Zeit Mal wieder eine (Chef Pizza) jetzt Giovanni Pizza bestellt. Gleich der erste Bissen war ein Hochgenuss. Danke dafür macht weiter so.

Wir waren ohne Voranmeldung (Klassenfahrt) mit einer großen Gruppe dort und es wurde viel unternommen, damit alles passt. Kuschelig und so lecker. Die Gnocci in Gorgonzolasahnesosse waren der Wahnsinn! So gut! Alle waren freundlich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Ein sehr nettes Restaurant mit freundlichen und schnellem Service. Das Essen schmeckt vorzüglich ich hatte Spagetti Frutta di Mare was ausgesprochen lecker war und es waren auch ordentlich viel Meeresfrüchte enthalten. Das Ambiente ist schön gestalltet und auch die Toiletten sind tip top. Einzige Verbesserungen sehe ich im Weinangebot, welches sehr überschaubar ist und denke erweitert werden könnte.
