President Hotel in Bonn

The room could use a bit more cleaning; the bathroom trash can was still full, and there was a hat in the closet from the previous guests... I wonder how well the rest of the place was cleaned? The staff, however, are very friendly! The location is great, a 30-minute walk from the city center. It's fine for a one-night stay, but for the price you sometimes pay, you'd expect better cleaning!

The rooms are good. However, it's located on a main road. There's no restaurant. The underground parking garage is very narrow.

Great location, very friendly service, excellent breakfast, clean and well-furnished room, relatively recently renovated bathroom, parking available, everything you could want for a weekend in Bonn. The city center is easily accessible on foot. With a bit of fitness, you don't even need a car.

I have to admit, after seeing a few mixed reviews, I was a little unsure what to expect from the President Hotel, but my stay was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. This hotel is a true gem, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Any whispers of it being 'dated' are completely unfounded, especially with the recent renovations and the new management that took over in May 2025. The positive changes are evident everywhere! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the kindest, most professional staff I have ever encountered in my travels. They were always available at reception, incredibly helpful, and genuinely made me feel welcome. My room was an oasis of comfort. It was immaculately clean, modern, and thoughtfully appointed with nice touches like an in-room tablet and a coffee/tea station. The bed was incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a perfect night's sleep. And the bathroom? It was fantastic, with a spacious shower that had amazing water pressure – a small detail that makes a huge difference! One of the biggest concerns I had read about was potential noise from the nearby motorway. I can confidently say this was a non-issue. The soundproof windows work wonders, and my room was perfectly quiet and peaceful. The hotel's location is actually a huge plus, situated in the vibrant Poppelsdorf neighborhood with a fantastic selection of restaurants, bars, and shops just a short, pleasant walk away. Plus, having secure bike parking was a great bonus. Overall, the President Hotel offers incredible value and a world-class experience. It's clear they are dedicated to providing the best for their guests. I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and this was easily one of my best experiences. I will absolutely be back!

Breakfast was poorly organized. On Sunday, there were no more rolls left by 9 a.m., and the other items weren't replenished enough either. That was a real shame. Otherwise, it was pleasant there. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The entire staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms are perfectly clean and very comfortable, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The location is fantastic, and everything was just perfect. We'll definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!"

We were warmly welcomed by three young men. The room (double room) was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was superb, with a huge selection and, above all, very friendly staff. All in all, a great stay. When we're back in Bonn, this hotel will be our first stop.

Centrally located city hotel. The room was great. I didn't miss anything at breakfast, but the price of the underground parking (€20) per night is quite steep. There's no chance of finding a free parking space in the area. Unfortunately, the window can't be left open at night because of the many cars driving by and the noise from the nearby restaurants and bars.

In our opinion the hotel is very central, there is a large elevator and we couldn't hear the neighbouring room. What was negative was the breakfast buffet, the selection was unfortunately not good value for money, wherever you were in the hotel you had to pay some extra costs, which was very disappointing for us, one night cost us €200 and we had booked it for €151 and when we asked the staff didn't respond and in the end ignored us after we asked, the room was clean but not dust-free, the carpet was stained, in the bathroom mould was starting to grow on the silicone joints, some of the tiles were broken, empty shower packaging was hanging in the dispensers, they were not refilled, 4 stars for this hotel no!!!!

Nice place, central, i had no problem with the noise, only with towells, and breakfast :-) i was there in January 2024 and it was not much people in the Hotel, so it is understandeble.

I figured you can't go wrong with a 4-star hotel in Germany. I'd previously been advised against Best Western hotels—and now I claim to know why. First, the positives: - The elevator is relatively new - The connection to public transportation was good - The curly-haired gentleman at the reception was very friendly (we had already arrived in the morning and wanted to ask if our room was ready (it wasn't; he had taken the trouble to check the system instead of simply fobbling us off) and then asked if late check-in was possible, which was confirmed) - The firmness of the beds is very good - although this probably varies from person to person - The restrooms in the lobby were locked, and the alternative restrooms located in the conference rooms were not signposted, and we could only find them with the help of a friendly chambermaid - The stairwell looks like one from a GDR school - The room was surprisingly small - The air conditioning was fixed at 21°C and couldn't be turned down (in summer) - Opening the window at night wasn't an option, as our room was directly above the highway - The shower screen in the modern bathroom There was no fixed point to lock into place. - The duvet is too warm for summer. - The Wi-Fi was too slow in my opinion (the tablet in the room had no reception). - As far as I know, the hotel's parking costs €20 per day/night. - The online price did not match the price we were supposed to pay. I found this out the evening at check-in from another employee when I was supposed to pay directly. Only after a brief discussion did he agree to accept the portal's price – which I showed him on my cell phone, which he accepted with a matter-of-factness. - Breakfast costs €19 for hotel guests, not hotel guests. In conclusion, I would rather book an Ibis Budget for €50 more than stay at this hotel again.

I’m not sure why some people are down on this hotel. Yes it’s a little dated but our room was very comfortable, clean, staff were super helpful (and always available on reception). There’s secure bike parking out back. Yes there was motorway noise from my room but you can close the window and put the air con on. Plus, you’re right in the middle of the buzzy neighbourhood Poppelsdorf with restaurants, cafes and shops all on the doorstep. I’d totally stay here again.

The hotel is relatively easy to reach by public transport and car. The surrounding area is in the center of everything, which means traffic noise if the windows are open. The hotel has its peculiarities, for example, you have to climb stairs from the street to get to the main entrance. The rooms are small, and the table is full of tea and coffee making supplies, so there's barely room for a laptop. The bathroom was new and okay. The bed was comfortable. The cleanliness was good. My air conditioning also had a technical issue, which wasn't a problem in a moderator's temperature. I found the breakfast meager, but it was sufficient. I would have also liked one or two free bottles of water in the room instead of coffee capsules, etc. The staff was friendly. Overall, I would have expected a bit more, like a bit more at breakfast, etc. But the hotel was good for its purpose, and I would come back.

Unfortunately, the air conditioning didn't work and wasn't repaired even when we asked (but we were only there for one night). It was very hot in the room, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The reception staff, however, were very friendly.

The Best Western President in Bonn offers solid 4-star quality. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The good location with quick access to the city center is particularly noteworthy. The breakfast buffet is extensive (coffee machine, large selection of teas, and hot and cold buffets (including pancakes and scrambled eggs). Only the furnishings seem a bit dated in places. Overall, a recommended choice for a stay in Bonn.

This was my third time staying at the hotel for a business trip. The hotel is easy to reach. Check-in is quick and efficient, and the staff are always happy to listen to any questions you may have. The rooms are nice, spacious, and clean. The bathroom is also clean and has a fairly large shower. Breakfast is a rich buffet with sweet and savory items. Although I'm not a breakfast person, I always enjoyed it. This hotel will probably always be my favorite for my next trips to Bonn.

Hello. I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel with my family, 2 small children and a teenager. The staff was kind and everything went great, the surroundings are friendly to everyone, they have shops, pharmacy, park, restaurants. The narrow underground parking for a family car and at the same time quite expensive. However, we settled down. The only really annoying thing was the folding bathroom door (noisiest thing ever) HOPE I WAS HELPFUL !!! 😀

The room was very tidy. If you open the window, you look at the highway. At least from this room. At breakfast there were white sausages. The hotel is easily accessible by bus from the main train station. Several bus lines.

My impression is that the President's interior is from the 80s (with new bathrooms). My room wasn't big, but I've also stayed in smaller ones in Bonn. If the windows are closed you can't hear the A565 either. The breakfast was good like that. The car was in the underground car park.

A 2-lane road leads under the hotel. Very loud when you ventilate. But windows are super soundproof. Rooms are clean and nice only the TV is small and not of very high quality.

I am very satisfied and am always happy when we stay at the President Hotel for our conference. I feel very comfortable there and always enjoy my stay. The staff is competent, friendly and very accommodating. The location of the hotel is also very good. You can walk to the city center in 10 to 15 minutes. I like to visit the nearby botanical garden.

We were there for a weekend and it was really a pleasant stay. Only the bathroom door, a sliding door, was quite difficult to open and close. But otherwise: great service, great breakfast...I would come back!

The number of parking spaces in the underground car park is very limited. Also extremely difficult for longer cars. Opel Insignia with a length of 5 meters has a very difficult time. Breakfast and service are great. Fast check-in and check-out, always understanding handling. The rooms are good, clean and quiet, despite being on the main street. TV could be newer, e.g. with MagentaTV or with access to a video store or something like that. Not everyone is out and about in Bonn in the evening. Otherwise, overall I like being in the hotel.

poor room and language problems, I didn't find anyone who understood or spoke Italian, at the end of the stay at the reception they asked me to pay for the room which I had already paid for a month before but the receptionist couldn't find a response, to leave I demonstrated the debit from my bank account by the hotel, it was almost there and it made me miss my plane

The hotel is clean and mediocrely furnished for the price. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was rich and nothing was missing. The hotel is surrounded by good restaurants and bars, but is also close to the highway, so the window should be kept closed for a peaceful sleep. You can get to Bonn city center in 3 stops by bus or 20 minutes on foot. Good location. What really bothered me was the 20 euros/night for the parking garage. Parking in the surrounding streets is difficult or even impossible. The 20 euros have to be added to the room price, so the hotel is too expensive for me in terms of price/performance. It's a shame, that certainly doesn't have to be the case.

We stayed here for two nights and are a bit disappointed. The room is fine so far, unfortunately there is no refrigerator in the room and the bathroom is very small. The parking garage is very narrow and, in my opinion, has far too few spaces and is very expensive at €20. Very difficult to find parking spaces around the hotel. Employees are very nice!! We think that the hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars.

Stayed here for one night after visiting Phantasialand. From the third floor we had to walk stairs because the elevator only went that far. Our room was directly under the roof above the highway. The view was great, you had a great view. Since I always wear Oropax in hotels, I didn't hear anything when the window was tilted. For light sleepers, it could be a sleepless night. The hotel is on a busy but very nice street with a few restaurants and shops. The room with a sloping ceiling was cozy and functionally furnished. Everything was clean from the bathroom to the bed linen. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was well stocked, but not tons or 10 types of cheese. You will definitely be full. Definitely recommended

This is a good location hotel in the Poppelsdorf district. The hotel is extremely centrally located and fully met our expectations. The hotel would undoubtedly have received 5 stars if it had been possible to use the existing bar in the evening to use drink. Unfortunately, the existing restaurant is also not managed. Unfortunately, the description online still suggests this (Pictures 41-45).

A hotel that is a bit worn. Our room was tidy, but the carpet was a bit stained. Throw in PVC so that it can at least be mopped, seems more convenient to me. Bathroom fine, but the heating was on and I had no idea how to turn it off. The air conditioning indicated that maintenance needed to be done and was running, but no cold air came into the room. Very nice that when the windows are closed it is really quiet in the room. The breakfast is okay. We found the staff very friendly.

Unclean room and stairwell. Parking is only available with an additional charge of €20 per day. According to the award, the star rating has already expired. TV didn't work. No restaurant available for lunch or dinner. Staff couldn't help and email contact with the boss only confirmed our experience in this hotel.

The sofas in reception were old and worn. Breakfast buffet was small and little choice. Air conditioning in the bedroom did not work. Service was good. Is more of a 3 star hotel.

I arrived alone by car late in the evening and was able to drive into the parking garage directly under the hotel. From there take the elevator briefly to the reception and straight on to the room. Everything went smoothly, very friendly and quick. After a long day, I was very grateful for the uncomplicated service and the easy way to the room. From the car to bed in less than 10 minutes - great! The room corresponds to the photos on the internet. I particularly liked the large, floor-to-ceiling shower with non-slip tiles and reasonable water pressure. The bathroom is also a good, sufficient size and has a nice design. The bed was also very comfortable for me. My window faced the street and because I sleep with the window open, you can of course hear the cars, but that doesn't bother me. But in the morning you can be out of the city and on the highway in no time. The breakfast offered the usual food and drinks, everything was very clean, fresh and sufficient. What particularly struck me were the quick and extremely polite and friendly restaurant staff in the breakfast room. The good service and the professional approach in the early morning made a very good impression on me. Overall and all around a great overnight hotel! Thank you for the pleasant stay!

After all the good reviews, we decided to book a room here for 2 nights. Upon arrival, the first room was dirty, bedding had many stains, very dusty and the toilet was dirty. Went to the counter and got a new room, even though 4 rooms were dirty, we were then upgraded to a slightly more spacious room. The breakfast was well prepared, nice staff, nice neighborhood. But unfortunately this hotel will never happen again for us.

The rooms are clean, renovated, spartan but modern. The bathroom has a large, walk-in shower. A negative aspect is the street noise, which can only be tolerated at night with the windows closed. In addition, the carpet in the room and hallway emits a very unpleasant smell. This is comparable to the smell of an overfull, uncleaned vacuum cleaner (musty and old). The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm puzzled as to why this is a 4-star hotel.

My room was clean, the furnishings were functional. The room temperature was constant at 21°, nothing could be changed. The view of the highway prevented me from opening the window at night. The hotel is directly on an underpass of a main access road and my room overlooked it. However, when the window is closed you don't hear any noise. The room was otherwise good. The bathroom with shower was also clean and everything worked. Breakfast was well equipped and you can sit comfortably in the winter garden.

Hotel is centrally located, you can reach many attractions on foot. Breakfast was very varied. Windows are very well insulated so that you don't notice any traffic.

Super lovely staff, very fast service. Our hairdryer was broken, 2 minutes later the lady was at the door with a replacement hairdryer. Even though the Bistro Clementine is unfortunately closed, you had the opportunity to eat the food you brought with you there and also get drinks. Very good breakfast buffet, lots of choice. We would love to come back. :-)

It's great how flexibly the team responded to requests for an earlier start to breakfast: On April 14th was on request because of the rel. Early in the marathon, the start of breakfast was brought forward by an hour.

We had a good stay at the hotel. The room was spacious, fully furnished with a refrigerator and there was little noise from outside. There were some hiccups. The carpet had many stains. The hook on which the shower head should hang was broken. The beds were fine, but for us the mattresses were too soft and the pillows very thin. The breakfast was fine, a small buffet with lots of choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is cozy, many restaurants and cafes around the corner. We will definitely come back, but we will bring our own pillow.

I celebrated my 50th birthday in the Clemens-August-Saal and can only recommend the hotel as a venue. From the band to the DJ, the decoration and the photo box, everything was perfectly organized and we received very personal advice. The food and service were also excellent. Thank you for everything! We stayed at the President Hotel for 5 nights and had bikes with us. We were able to park these in the annex because the hotel was not fully occupied and no events were taking place. There is no extra storage room. The ladies and gentlemen at reception were very friendly and helpful and even opened the extra room for us very late in the evening. The rooms are big enough, the TV is a bit too small and the furniture seemed a bit old-fashioned. The bathroom was very modern. Unfortunately the room temperature could not be regulated and was always around 24 degrees. There was a Nespresso machine in the room. Despite the nearby expressway, the rooms are very quiet when the windows are closed. The breakfast buffet was included in our package, not cheap at €20, but appealing. Egg dishes could be ordered separately, there was freshly squeezed orange juice, no cheap tea bags, but loose tea and dark bread. The underground car park was also included with us, otherwise it costs €20 per night. The location of the hotel is very central, there are supermarkets, bakers, butchers, cafes and restaurants nearby. Poppelsdorf Castle is a 5-minute walk away and the main train station is 1km away. We would recommend the hotel, very suitable for a city holiday in Bonn.

In the majority of hotels one looks the same. Standard setup. The houses can only stand out through the additional services and good service. I had to go to Bonn for a day from my employer and had them book me a hotel. Condition: Dog must be allowed and late checkout. It is often no longer possible to find a dog boarding facility at short notice. This hotel was booked. You can usually get the information you need on the homepage. Not here. Lots of hotel pictures, basic information is lacking: from when to when is breakfast served, what about parking when checking in, how much does a parking space cost, how much does the dog cost, what is the late checkout? When you arrive you will find a piece of paper at the ticket counter for the parking lot: 20 euros day ticket for a parking space, 2 euros for short-term parking (what do you mean by short-term parking?). To unload the suitcases you have to pay two euros. From the parking lot you end up in front of a large entrance. However, it is not an entrance. According to later information, it is only open for events. There is also no sign indicating where the hotel entrance is. I asked a passerby. You can get to the hotel from the underground car park or have to walk to the main entrance on the main street. I then met two receptionists at the hotel. There were no luggage trolleys, so one of the two helped with carrying it and, when asked, said where you could park for free. The other then informed me that breakfast was served from 6:30 a.m. Useful for business travelers who have to be at work by 7 a.m. I told her that unfortunately I wouldn't be able to have breakfast because I had to leave at that time. The answer: “That’s just the way it is.” Then there was a piece of paper with the WiFi network name and password. Late checkout is until 5 p.m. the following day. Standard room. There was a dog bed, which no one had mentioned, so I carried my own under my arm. There is a tablet in the room that runs continuously. You have to turn off the screen manually. It serves as a telephone and source of information. And it had a camera. A camera from a foreign device in a hotel room… As information on the tablet: WiFi network name and password. A room control: but it didn't work. Instead of the desired 17 degrees, I had at least 21 degrees in the room all night and no way to turn off the heating. Then tips on tourism. You got to the first page of the tourism information, then the connection was interrupted. I took the tablet out of the station and covered it. Because of the heat, I opened the window. Since the hotel is in the middle of the city, it was noisy. I had a maximum of 3 hours of sleep. The shower in the hotel room does not have an energy-saving shower head. So a lot of water comes out. The next day we left without breakfast, walked 10 minutes to the car, returned to the hotel at 2:30 p.m. The room door couldn't be opened. To the reception, the same man from the day before issues me a new card; I bring something into the car and can't get into the room again. Back to reception. The man: “I thought you just wanted to go up one more time….”. Another new card and the question of whether I would just go up again... The bill: 104 euros for my employer including breakfast, which I couldn't eat because it was offered so late. The dog: 18 euros, late check-out 35 euros. So 53 euros for me. And he, who had told me the day before where I could park for free, now wanted to deduct 20 euros for the parking space. I pointed out to him that if there was a late checkout, the card should work until 5 p.m. There was no apology for going to reception twice. Or any sign of logical recognition of the usefulness of an access card that had previously worked.

The first impression is deceiving. The reception hall and the buffet room are a bit older. The rooms, however, are 1A. In a comfortable 20 minute walk you can be in the city center or at the main station. We'd love to come back. Edit: the breakfast is really very rich, there is almost everything you need for a European breakfast. There was even white sausage...

... again in my “favorite hotel” in Bonn. As always, everything was great!

We booked via Kurzmalweg.de At half past three in the night there were other guests in our room who had the same room number. As you can imagine, we were pretty scared and the only thing the employee said was: I'm sorry. We had to pay €14 for 2 bottles of water and the receptionist was also rather less motivated. When we checked out in the morning we weren't asked whether we were satisfied. The breakfast was at least delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the room due to security reasons, especially private things!

Eine einzige Katastrophe, in der letzten Nacht hat dort meine Frau übernachten. Mitten in der Nacht, um drei Uhr, standen wild fremde Personen in ihrem Zimmer. Scheinbar wurde die falsche Karte an andere Gäste ausgehändigt. Auf eine Entschuldigung vom Personal wartet sie auch noch immer. Von daher nicht zu empfehlen, lieber ein anderes hotel wählen, ist vielleicht sicherer und auch sicherer für Ihre privaten Sachen.

Dss Hotel hat bei Glätte den Gehweg nicht gestreut/geräumt. Auf meinen Schadensersatzanspruch zur Reperatur einer Fahrradlampe habe ich bis heute keine Antwort erhalten. Sowas ist ganz schäbig.

Es wirkt sehr unorganisiert und chaotisch. Die Parkplatzgebühr ist viel zu hoch und eine Frechheit. Die Silvesterschifffahrt ist mit Partyschiff ein richtiger Reinfall. Das Feuerwerk rund um den Rhein war das einzige Highlight.

Wir haben über einen Internetanbieter ein Silvester Arrangement mit 1x HP gebucht. An der Rezeption wurden wir sehr freundlich von einem jungen Mann empfangen. Allgemein scheinen dort überwiegend junge Leute zu arbeiten. Das Zimmer war gemütlich eingerichtet, von optimaler Größe und sauber. Dort haben wir uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Zugang erhält man mit einer Chipkarte. Das enthaltene Buffet der Halbpension war ansprechend angerichtet und durchweg lecker. Leider war es an dem Abend etwas wuselig und die jungen Kellner etwas überfordert, aber dennoch freundlich. Da hätte jemand mit Erfahrung gefehlt, der den Überblick behält. Trotzdem haben wir gut gegessen und sind pappsatt ins Zimmer. Zum größten Teil sind aber auch die anderen Gäste damit verständnisvoll umgegangen. Auch das Frühstück war meiner Meinung nach ansprechend und vielfältig/reichhaltig (mehrere Sorten Brötchen, Croissants, Aufschnitt/ Aufstrich, Joghurt, frisches Obst, Gemüse, warme Eierspeisen, Pancakes,Würstchen, Speck usw.) Einzig schlecht aufgestoßen ist die ältere Mitarbeiterin. Ich bin selbst gelernte HoFa mit jahrelanger Berufserfahrung. Ja, man kann mal einen schlechten Tag haben, aber dies sollte KEINESFALLS vor den Gästen ausgetragen werden. Ein Satz dieser Dame hat mich als Gast -während ich am Buffet stand- ganz besonders schockiert " Das Buffet ist richtig ekelhaft" Ähm ja gut und ich als Gast soll das dann nun essen??? Auch ist sie nicht sonderlich freundlich mit dem jungen Personal umgegangen, was ich sehr schade finde(Kleinigkeiten wurden laut und breit vor den Gästen kritisiert). Mit der Stimmung im Team steht und fällt der Service. Und jeder weiß, wie es mit Personal in der heutigen Zeit aussieht! Trotz alledem hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt und empfehlen das Hotel gerne weiter.

Super Lage zum Essen und Einkaufen. Parken nur in der Tiefgarage möglich und das muss man zahlen. 20€ pro Nacht!!!!

Nice located hotel. Like 20 minutes walking from the station Bonn Hbf through beautifull Popendorf. When walking is too far: also to reach with bus. Good bakery is near by and a beautifull castle and botanic garden. Room was clean and didn't hear the sounds from the street and nearby highway. I was missing a Coffee and tea facility at the room.

Ordentlich....sauber...Personal super nett...zuvorkommend...Standort mittendrin...kurze Wege zu Lokalen...Cocktailbar...Weihnachtsmarkt..Apotheke, Supermarkt,Bushaltestellen...

Leider stank es in dem Zimmer stark nach Zigarettenqualm und die Heizung im Bad hatte nicht funktioniert.

Estuve durante la época de los Mercados de Navidad y Bonn y en particular este hotel es ideal para visitarlos. El Servicio fue impecable, tuvimos un problema la primera noche con la calefacción de nuestra habitación y nos dieron dos habitaciones dobles para toda nuestra estancia.

Sehr schön und zentral gelegenes Hotel in Poppelsdorf, direkt am Botanischen Garten und Schloss gelegen, umgeben von reichlich Gastronomie Angeboten. 10 Minuten Fußweg vom Bahnhof/Zentrum. Zimmer sind sauber und die Preise sind angemessen! Frühstück lohnt sich zu buchen, gute Auswahl und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter!
