Absolutely recommended! Food excellent, service of course attentive and friendly, atmosphere wonderful. Only the yapping dog brought by guests was annoying 😉

The fact that we hadn't been here much earlier left us a little annoyed last night on our first visit to this house. We found a very good restaurant that exceeded our expectations. When we entered we were asked whether we wanted to sit inside or outside and then a service began that clearly emphasized the upscale environment of this establishment. The aperitif recommendations, including non-alcoholic ones, were spot on. The partly homemade bread for the aperitif was served quickly and then waited until it was finished, which I particularly appreciate. The menu offers a small selection of À la carte dishes and a menu (3-course or 4-course) is offered. We started with a perfectly cooked tuna tataki, followed by an unspectacular lemongrass curry soup. The venison ravioli with green asparagus was a highlight and the plum-roasted dessert was a culinary delight. For all four courses, the plate language is rather reserved. There is a large menu of wines; for yesterday's menu, the more limited selection on the pub menu was sufficient. Right down to the coffee, which was accompanied by a small treat, the service was professional and naturally friendly, seasoned with a pinch of humor. The interior is inviting and well maintained. We deducted one star from "Ambience" because our decision to sit outside was associated with an extremely high level of street noise. That doesn't change the fact that we will come back, we just have to find a suitable date.

We really enjoy being at Wilbrands often - in the Herzogenhof (see separate review) - most recently yesterday - in the post itself (especially at events) - most recently BBQ and soon wine evening - and so in the post office... which is what this is supposed to be about. To be honest... in terms of price/performance ratio (3 or 4 courses... also applies to the wines) I can't think of ANY restaurant in the area - in the upscale gastronomy - that could hold a candle to the Postschänke! The food is full of ideas (smart, great sauces, mega desserts...), super tasty and the portions are also very generous! Service great… authentic and unpretentious! If you want to find a tiny point of criticism... depending on the occupancy and the composition of the guests - keyword: a larger group that then talks a little louder across the table - it can sometimes (rather rarely) be that there is some background noise. Due to the relatively low room height and somewhat narrower seating, the acoustics are not 100%! But that doesn't detract from the overall assessment! From my point of view, a total of 6 stars ****** top

The dining room isn't particularly nice, but the food is excellent. All dishes impressed with the quality of the products and the care taken in their preparation. Only the poached apricots in the dessert were disappointing. You can only rarely buy really ripe and tasty apricots in Germany. The overall price-performance ratio is very good. Even if you only drink a kölsch from the tap, you won't be looked at strangely.

We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary there as a couple and we had a wonderful dinner. The table was lovingly set with hearts 😊 We really enjoyed the 3-course menu. We also ordered another appetizer and shared it. All dishes really skillfully made. 1. Starter: tuna tataki Wakame salad | Avocado cream | Wasabi | Noralge 2. Starter 2: Pink roast beef Waldorf salad | Walnuts | Gray bread | pickled vegetables 3. Main course: Bergisches wild boar ragout in Burgundy Mushrooms | Pearl onions | dumplings 4. Dessert: Poached apricots Toffee parfait | Yoghurt mint sorbet | Elderflower meringue Also very good in terms of price/performance ratio! A great restaurant in a nice atmosphere, the service is attentive and very friendly! Keep it up!

A dream of a meal, I was lucky that there wasn't much going on on Sunday lunchtime. But reservation is necessary. You can do this via the hotel/restaurant website. There are now 3 chefs from the same family who are world class! Even if it's just to have a coffee with the exquisite desserts, it's always a hit! My warm recommendation!

Always very attentive service, great food and reasonable prices for the type and quality. Have been here several times and would love to come back.

We had a wonderful dinner for four. The 3 or 4 course menu was enjoyed by everyone involved. All dishes really skillfully made. Also very good in terms of price/performance ratio! Service attentive and very friendly! Keep it up!

We went there for dinner together for our 60th wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed and our cloakroom was taken away from us. Then we were shown to the table. Classically decorated. The menu came quickly and an aperitif was offered. We ordered a 3 course menu consisting of two different starters, 3 different main courses and 2 different desserts. After ordering, the very attentive service brought us tasty bread with a very tasty quark. The first course consisted of 2 very tasty parsley root soups with cheese sticks and a very nice César salad with Manchego and king prawns. The portion was very generous but also very tasty. Then we dined on label rouge corn poularde with mushrooms and fine tagliarini, on grilled Farör salmon on the skin with pearl barley and champagne butter, and on ox cheeks gently braised with thyme jus, French fries and vegetables. The salmon and the corn-fed poularde were both fried very juicy and the toppings were very tasty. My ox cheeks were excellently cooked, tender and with a great taste. The Bimi, the carrot and also the parsnip puree are simply delicious. There is one small drawback, however, the great tasting Macaire potato would have been even better with a second slice. The desserts were also simply great. My raspberry rhubarb coulis with poppy seed parfait, lemon meringue sorbet and almond brittle is a dream in sweetness and also a small piece of walnut cake mmmhhhh! The second dessert was an excellent creme brulee with a great, crispy crust. An all-round successful meal. Many thanks to Christopher, Ali and the team, we would be happy to come back.

In my opinion the prices are way too high for what you get. You even have to pay extra for your supplement. The ambience is okay if you like the style. The service was also quite ok

An average kitchen, completely overpriced and unimaginative. Arrogant and unmotivated staff.

That was a complete disaster! No menu; but two very overpriced dishes for which there was no alternative! The staff. Oh well. Only after the announcement to leave did we get the goose dish. With an additional charge, of course! So: definitely not recommended!

Good cuisine at fair prices, service unfortunately inattentive to disinterested

Absolute recommendation, we went to the Postschänke for a birthday dinner with three friends. All three - 3 course menu, one of us is vegetarian. No problem, there were minimal changes and my special request for a different dessert was also taken into account. The food and service were outstanding, which is what you want when you go out to eat. We ordered the 3 course menu for lunch. The service was great! Unfortunately the game was dead. Otherwise everything was very tasty.

Wir haben heute das aktuelle 3-Gänge-Menü gegessen und waren begeistert. Das Reh war megalecker, ebenso das Carpaccio vom Rind, bzw. der Ziegenkäse. Letzter Gang Zwetschgenröster. Nirgends gibt's leckereres Essen.

Wirklich sehr modern und frisch angerichtet und toll innovativ. Selten so ein schönes carpaccio gegessen und der sommersalat mit Garnelen war mein persönliches Highlight. Selbst die Nachspeise hat mir gefallen, weil ich nicht so süß mag. Die Wein Auswahl war super! Die wilbrands sind sehr sympathisch, alles in allem ein runder abend, nur zu empfehlen!

Wie immer, ein perfekt gelungen Abend, mit hervorragenden Speisen einem sehr netten Personal. Wir freuen uns schon aus das nächste Mal.

War wieder ein Erlebnis dort zu speisen, ausgezeichnetes Essen, nette, zuvorkommend Bedienung die sofort auf Sonderwünsche eingegangen ist

Wir hatten einen super Abend, das Essen ist auf hohen Niveau und preislich trotzdem im Rahmen. Kann ich absolut empfehlen einen Abstecher nach Odenthal zu machen.

Essen seht gut. Preislich im gehobenen Segment. Service sehr gut und aufmerksam. Gerne wieder.

Wie immer sehr leckere feine Kost. Ein Ort zum Geniessen und Herunterkommen. Ich würde mir ein.zweites Menü zur Auswahl wünschen.

Die Postschänke ist das phantastische kleinere Restaurant im Hotel zur Post. Finanziell nicht so belastend wie das Restaurant aber qualitativ top und alles sehr sehr lecker.

Der absolute Knaller! Tolles Essen, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und den besten Service den man sich vorstellen kann(Peter ist der beste Kellner den ich je gesehen habe).

Heute zu meinem 40. Geburtstag waren wir in Odenthal in der Postschänke und es hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen. Die aktuell noch benötigten Hygienemaßnahmen werden gut umgesetzt, am Tisch loggt man sich via App einfach ein und später wieder aus, mithilfe der Luca-App. Der Service am Tisch war ebenfalls sehr gut und immer freundlich. Das Essen, wir haben aufgrund der aktuellen Hitze nur das 3-Gänge-Menü ohne heiße Suppe genommen, war ausgezeichnet. Selten geschmacklich was besseres gegessen. Kurze Info hierzu: Wir haben das Restaurant für den 40. gewählt weil hier Herr Rademacher von "La Cuisine" in Dellbrück gelernt hat und man dort ebenfalls exzellentes Essen erhält, allerdings zu einem ganz anderen Preis. Apropos Preis, der ist mit 37,- pro Person für ein fantastisches 3-Gänge Menü auch auf jeden Fall sehr in Ordnung sodass man pro Person inkl. Getränke so um die 50,- (+/-) liegt. Ganz ehrlich, besser und preiswerter kann man einfach nicht essen. Danke an die Postschänke für einen tollen Abend.

Perfekter Gastgeber. Tolles Essen. Freundliches Personal-top Qualität. Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man einen schönen Abend mit leckerem Essen in schöner Atmosphäre verbringen mag. Schon toll zu sehen auch mit welcher Leidenschaft Piet sein Ding macht. Waren zum ersten Mal nach langer Zeit wieder dort und sicher nicht zum letzten Mal.

Sehr nettes Personal und toller Service. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten konnten wir entspannt bei Kölsch warten bis ein Tisch frei wurde. Dann haben wir uns das 3 Gänge Menü gegönnt...absolut top kann ich nur sagen...und ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Danach noch ein Absacker hat den Abend abgerundet. Das Team und Peter sind tolle Gastgeber!!!!
