The restaurant offers down-to-earth cuisine with something for everyone. The dishes are well prepared, served quickly and the portions are more than sufficient. The staff is friendly and attentive. Particularly noteworthy is the good price-performance ratio. Overall, a recommendable address in a tourist location.

The Wienerschnitzel we ordered (29 euros) was tough and dry. The restaurant is designed for mass tourism and unfortunately this is at the expense of quality.

Have eaten cheese spaetzle, never eaten so badly. Totally carelessly prepared, bland and has absolutely nothing to do with cheese spaetzle. The price is not justified, far too expensive. Not recommended.

The music was nice and the location was as well. The prices were slightly expensive but the most important part was the waitress who took the order. He was really rude and because of his attitude, only one star, sorry.

Went for lunch with a group of 24 people with pre-ordered food. Everyone has their food in front of them almost at the same time. Food was very tasty and plenty. The staff is also very friendly. Great atmosphere in the courtyard with live music. You can confidently recommend the Posthof.

Super nice atmosphere and the worst cheese spaetzle I've ever eaten.

Nice atmosphere for drinking, I can't recommend eating. We tried brawn, cheese spaetzle and tarte flambée. None of it seemed homemade: the tarte flambée seemed to have been thawed and was too dry, the spaetzle was watered down and too floury, and the potatoes with the brawn tasted old. Unfortunately the best thing was the bottled beer. And the prices were way too high for that! Service was good, as was the ambience. I wouldn't come back to eat.

Very nice restaurant. Were there with 8 people. Had reservations. Everything went well. Eater was good, everyone enjoyed it. Conditions were friendly. The outside area is very nice and really cozy.

Historic restaurant with a beautiful courtyard and ambience. Very attentive service. We ordered a recommended Mediterranean starter plate and hand cheese with music. The matching rose was also excellent. A pleasant place to stay.

Very good food. We ordered classic and vegetarian flammekuchen, which tasted great. Plus local wine and beer. The garden in the yard where we ate, surrounded by beautiful old tenement houses, takes you back in time to the early 20th century.

Today we visited Bacharach and had lunch in this restaurant. The ambience is excellent. The service too…quick and attentive. Now about the food. I had the cheese spaetzle. You can forgive the fact that it wasn't homemade spaetzle. But a few dry, ready-made “hot dog” onions from the package on top is not ok. These simply have to be onion rings from the pan. The portions, however, are sufficiently large. Olives and corn actually have no place in the salad with the cheese spaetzle. However, that is now a matter of opinion.

A lot of tables to sit outside and listen to live music. That was something that builds the character of that place. Food was average but maybe I just chose not the best dish, other diahes looked much better and the group was satisfy in general.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was also very pleasant, when my grandma asked that she would like to pay by card, the waiter said “I want that much too” with a serious expression, not even joking. Pretty unprofessional to say something like that.

Sorry to give the poor score - we would like to taste some wine, yet due to lack of personnel the only persone serving the food, when asked if he can open the Vinohek answered with smile: "Not today". Bad service at least for my view.

The food was tasty. Sitting on the chairs is a bit uncomfortable because the floor is uneven or sloping due to the paving stones. There was live music. Overall worth a visit.

Today the restaurant accepted only cash. No ticket after the payment. I paid 35€ + 2€ tips. Then I realized that the bill was 3€ higher then it should be. I came back and asked the waiter why. He said that it was a suggestion of tips, and that I could have refused. I was in disbelief because 3€ were added without asking me. So, the waiter gave me 5€ back. Well, the moral of the story, check your bill before you pay.

Very overrated restaurant. Agreed with an earlier review that the food is average with smaller portion comparing with the rest of our trip through Germany. The courtyard is lovely, but the service is poor. We came at busy hour, the waiter is inpatient and somewhat “rude” in the Asian context.

Visit on a Friday evening. The inner courtyard is well-arranged and the restaurant is definitely the best that Bacharach has to offer. The card offers something for everyone. Wienerschnitzel, herring with fried potatoes, hand cheese & salad - everything was great. The service is very friendly and attentive. Maybe you shouldn't warn guests that it's time to leave by opening the awnings at 9 p.m. The wines are so ok, just reasonable for a glass at 6 euros.

We went to eat, they served us very quickly and kindly. Everything we ate was of very good quality and delicious. There was also a man playing the piano and sax while we ate and it created a good atmosphere. From the terrace you could see the very beautiful bell tower, really a very good experience.

We stopped in for lunch during a break in our river trip from Rudesheim. Very nice atmosphere in a shady courtyard with sunshades over every table. Food was simple German lunch menu and very delicious. Service was fast, friendly and very attentive. I tried some German but they speak better English!

The food is a disaster, schnitzel much too thin, poorly seasoned and extremely dry. Potatoes are supposed to be fried potatoes, so you apparently just walked past the pan, and they are also poorly seasoned, and you also have to look for the bacon on the potatoes. Price-performance ratio is absolutely not the same

Fried potatoes were only medium good, but that almost didn't matter because the goulash was excellent. Friendly service, but everything is a bit expensive, e.g. B. an extremely small side salad for just under EUR 8.00.

Bacharach is small and so there never really is a need to get out of the crowds, but ... dropping in here for a bevvy and then lunch and almost dinner made for a relaxing afternoon of conversation in the umbrella'd courtyard. Drinks were on-point. The large menu had enough to make many people happy. Both arrived quickly. The staff toggled back and forth between German for our friends and English for us. When suddenly we needed to add two people, they helped us to a new and bigger table. When it started to rain, they expanded the awnings and let us keep chatting. We had earlier joked about a short walk and a long lunch. We hadn't planned for it to be so, but we did and had a lovely time doing it.

We were there today in a group of 10 people. Service was great and the food was very tasty. Very nice courtyard and today even with live musicians. All in all we had a lovely time there 😊

A really great place. I spilled my latte macchiato outside in the restaurant today because I'm just clumsy sometimes. A cellar immediately came with a cloth and removed my clumsiness. I then ordered a new one and the answer was already in the works. When we wanted to pay and I listed everything, the answer from the waiter was, their latte macchiato has good insurance. So she didn't charge me for this. Simply courteous staff and hospitality are very important. Simply recommended.

Beautiful historical place with delicious dishes. We sat in the inner courtyard in sunny weather with a view of the ruins of the Werner Chapel.

Very nice location, especially when the sun is shining outside on the terrace or in the beautiful courtyard with a view of the Werner Chapel, but also nice inside. Staff very friendly, prices high but still OK. We had schnitzel Viennese style with fries, it tasted good, large portion.

The musical accompaniment in the courtyard was very pleasant and since the sun was still shining, the food tasted particularly good. A great location.

Hatten Schnitzel bestellt, das Schnitzel war extrem dünn geklopft und in altem Fett paniert. Das Essen kam bereits nach 5min, was nicht für eine sonderlich gute Zubereitung spricht. Das Personal war nett. In dem Dorf gibt es viele andere leckere Restaurants.

The place is beautiful and unfortunately the food is not. The schnitzel was pounded far too thin and was breaded in old fat. There are by far better restaurants in this village.

A great international crew runs the store. Delicious dishes from the kitchen for guests young and old. Gladly again.

We stopped here for a glass of wine to sit and relax in their beautiful courtyard with live music. The gentleman playing was playing jazz on a saxophone and piano. They also had automatic awnings that worked great when it sprinkled. Plenty of waiters and good food

In the heart of Bacharach with a very cozy terrace - yesterday even with live music! The employees were very friendly. Drinks and food came very quickly. The portions are very large. We came across this restaurant when visiting Bacharach because of the music in the courtyard of the restaurant. A great spot to have lunch or grab a glass of wine after visiting the town. The food was also delicious and we loved that there were many vegetarian options! I will definitely come here again on my next trip to Bacharach!

Great spot. Inside can get a little loud, but outside is peaceful in the afternoon and very pleasant for a glass of local Riesling. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

The prices are high, but not the food. The schnitzel tasted like old fat. The tomato soup, like it comes straight from the bag. Convenience food should be taboo for a restaurant. I can't recommend it, it's a shame.

A recommended place if you are passing through Bacharach to have a good glass of wine and enjoy the view of the chapel and the beautiful architecture of the 15th century venue. I recommend the schnitzels and desserts.

There were two of us and we each ordered a children's schnitzel, which cost 2 euros less than the "normal" one. We got ONE cut schnitzel spread over 2 plates. The schnitzel tasted like old fat and the fried potatoes only tasted like marjoram. The side salad was so sour that I couldn't eat it. When we asked the waiter, we told him what we didn't like. He said "ok, thank you, I'll take note of it." It's a shame, because the atmosphere there is very nice.

Tarte flambée was sour and not very tasty, sausage salad tasted like a ready-made, run-of-the-mill salad, fried potatoes and side salad were okay. Both far too expensive for this quality.

Apart from the beautiful ambience, the restaurant is an absolute failure. The food is mediocre at best and the service is an absolute disaster. Rude and makes the customer wait 20 minutes to pay. So it's better not to go!

Sehr schönes Ambiente hat uns rein gelockt. Sind dann brav vor der Tafel stehen geblieben und haben gewartet bis man uns unfreundlich einen Platz, auf unseren Wunsch, im Schatten, zugewiesen hat. Es war sehr heiß an diesem Tag. Ein Platz für zwei Personen wäre im Durchgangsverkehr gewesen. Nachdem sie uns schnell die Speisekarte gegeben hatten wurden wir dann völlig ignoriert. Die Preise waren nicht zu finden. Eine Bestellung konnten wir nicht machen für lange Zeit. So sind wir eben ohne etwas bekommen zu haben, wieder gegangen. Wir werden dieses Lokal nicht weiter empfehlen. Den einen Stern vergeben wir für das Ambiente.

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre, im Innenhof oder auch drinnen. Viel Betrieb, da hatte der Service ordentlich zu tun. Trotzdem freundlich und zügig. Also alles gut? Nicht ganz: Essen war eher durchschnittlich, da sollte man nicht zu viel erwarten

Ansich ist das Restaurant sehr schön gelegen aber das Personal ist do h sehr unfreundlich trotz mündlicher Reservierung wurden wir von einem Kellern zur Seite verwiesen und sowieso reagierte er sehr frech und patzig

The Alte Posthof, how beautiful, finally revived and so beautiful...clearly showing its age, but it suits Bacherach and has a certain charm...friendly, attentive hosts who I wish them good luck with staying.. .I will come back.
