Delicious prawns at great prices (1kg for €24), friendly service and authentic ambience. The only disadvantage is that you cannot pay by card (neither EC nor credit card). In this day and age, this should be possible with a registered association. Unfortunately, the pastéis de nata were also cold, as was the espresso ☕️

Easy reserved for 20 people in advance. Delicious food. The prawns and mussels particularly stand out. Seafood is good to eat here. The wines are also quite good. I recommend: Aioli cream for everything! It's simply mega! Unfortunately my steak was medium rare and not rare. It's a shame, but it's okay.

Authentic and real, really like in Portugal, you usually look for something like that in vain. A real original, parking is rather difficult. But the quality of the food is absolutely amazing!

We were there for the first time today with a reserved table and were made very welcome. The food came very quickly and, like the drinks, was absolutely top. The price performance is fantastic. In addition, I have rarely had such a delicious Krefelder. So we will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

The food is pretty good, fresh and simply prepared. Sometimes it might be a little too easy. The ambience is simple, but also has charm! You should definitely go there once and see for yourself.

Food okay, prawns not big - but okay, only one prawn dish to choose from. Atmosphere cold and uncomfortable. Service okay. I wouldn't recommend it - but I would recommend it to table friends in Duisburg!

The most important thing here is the ambience and the port. “Covivência”, the atmosphere and the gathering of the Portuguese who live and work here. You briefly feel like you are in Portugal. You shouldn't have such high expectations of the food. The prawns (500g at €13.- good price) were fresh, the tunke with lots of garlic and olive oil. The “Bacalhau frito”, which was unfortunately only fried briefly, was a tad too salty but still ok. The side dishes are just poor - just the fried potato slices from the freezer. The Bife with a fried egg (skirt steak) was tiny and overpriced at €18. If the bread had been baked from yesterday or the day before, the aioli would have tasted better.

We were just there and ordered, among other things, mussels, prawns, scabbard and stockfish, as well as squid rings. Everything was wonderful, great food, nice staff, top value for money. Can only be recommended!

You could give the restaurant the headline: Welcome to the home of the Gambas 🦐. You enter the Portuguese Association for Culture and Recreation in Krefeld through a backyard. The rooms have a simple, club-like atmosphere but still have a special charm. You feel like you're in Portugal. The star? Clearly - the prawns. If you eat your colleagues, you will definitely smell like it for 3 days. This won't matter to you at this moment and you will enjoy dipping the potato slices (chips) into the delicious garlic broth again and smile happily. Obrigado.

I just stopped by with my husband on the recommendation of a Portuguese colleague as we really wanted to try the food here. When asked at the door whether it was current that card payments were still not possible and whether payment via Paypal was possible, the ice-cold and very unfriendly answer came in front of the other customers sitting: no, it has always been that way. So we went to withdraw money but decided to go eat somewhere else due to the very unwelcome and unfriendly manner! Too bad! But a certain clientele (wearing a headscarf) is probably not desired in this restaurant.

Nice staff.Very well attended. So we voluntarily waited at the table in the counter area for a good three quarters of an hour. You shouldn't expect usual food when eating. The menu is entirely designed for a very small but quick kitchen and you see typical Portuguese specialties and nothing else.

Run by volunteers. Price performance very very good. Food good. Everyone friendly and attentive. I'll let you see me again. Anyone who doesn't need any frills and can be content with a simple ambience will come back again and again.

The food and drinks are GREAT It's a shame I would even want to give it one more star.

I ordered food to take away over the phone (Gambas 0.5 kg, a small portion of potato chips and a mixed salad). Since there is no menu on the internet, I asked for the amount. The person on the phone told me it was €26, which seemed excessive to me. When I was at the club/restaurant I looked at the menu and came up with the total of €21. There was only one menu with a price list where the price list for eating out was not listed. After I asked why the price was too high, the waiter gave me the excuse (lie) that eating out was more expensive than eating in a restaurant because of the packaging and that I chose fresh garlic instead of garlic butter and that Eating outside in clubs/restaurants is more expensive than if you were to eat in a club/restaurant. This employee must know "consumption on site = 19 percent VAT" and "pack up and take away = 7 percent VAT" So in plain language it was 12 percent cheaper. The waiter deducted around €7 and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I am deeply disappointed.

I like being here, the food is good, the service is good, the ambience is plain and simple... I'll be back.

The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a large canteen. But that also has charm. The prawns are awesome and the service is very nice. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here!

A strong piece of the Portuguese way of life in Krefeld. Unconventional but somehow charming atmosphere, humorous, friendly service, uncompromisingly authentic country cuisine at absolutely hospitable prices. It is advisable to reserve a little in advance, at least on weekends. A highlight!

Been coming here again and again since the late 80s. The price-performance ratio is and remains absolutely top. I hope that in 2050 we will still have the best prawns ever. There is nothing more to say or write.

We hadn't been there in years and thought we just had to give it a try. I remembered it being a little tastier: We ordered prawns, which unfortunately weren't easy to peel, and spare ribs, which were very, very dry. That was not always so. You only got drinks if you got someone. I know that a lot of people say that it's cheap, but then I'd rather go out for a nice, comfortable meal and pay more, get delicious food and be asked for drinks as soon as my glass is empty. The people who served us were still very friendly.

It's a shame, despite the not very inviting atmosphere, we always enjoyed being there because of the great food. But today when we wanted to stop in at 5:30 p.m., we were asked if we had a reservation. A few tables were set in the very large room and were then not very cordially assigned to a small table that was right by the door. We asked if we could have another table, but the answer was that the others should be left free for 4 guests. As I said, it was very early and there was still a lot of space in the giant hall. Anyone who welcomes us so unwelcomingly will not stay as guests.

Ist jetzt mein zweiter Besuch dort das Essen ist gut bis sehr gut absolut empfehlenswert. Leider war es bei meinem Besuch etwas zu kalt im Raum für die Frostbeulen. Das Ambiente ist schon sehr sehr im Jahre gekommen wobei weil man natürlich beabsichtige machen muss da das Essen wirklich ein hohes Niveau hat dafür aber günstig ist. In einer portugiesischen Gaststätte zahlt man wahrscheinlich fast das Doppelte wem das Ambiente nichts ausmacht ist der Laden da es auch seinen eigenen Charme hat😊

Gute Küche aber leider eine sehr laute Kulisse wenn alles voll ist, besonders an den Wochenenden.

Einfach aber sauber. Kann man durchaus hingehen, wenn man mediterranes seafood mag. Man muss bedenken, es ist ein Kulturverein, in dem man essen kann. Es ist kein Restaurant. Wenn man das bedenkt, wird man zufrieden sein.

Der Raum ist sehr einfach gemacht. Aber genau das macht das besondere Ambiente aus. Und das Essen ist Topp. Die Gambas sind sooo lecker und es gehört dazu, dass man diese mit den Fingern aufbricht und direkt isst. Danke, dass wir auch dort rein dürfen und die Kultur so miterleben können.

Wie immer war es sehr lecker. Wir sind pappsatt geworden. Also nur zu empfehlen. Preis- Leistung stimmt, daß Essen ist lecker, der Service freundlich und zugügig- was will man mehr.... wir kommen wieder

Das Essen, Gambas, Muscheln, Calamaris, Chips (dünn geschnittene frittierte Kartoffeln) war gut und günstig, die Getränke auch. Nachtisch, nichts Besonderes gab es für 2 Euro. Wer Meeresfrüchte mag, sollte auf jeden Fall mal dort vorbei schauen.Das Lokal hat einen old school Vereinsflair. Nuja, es ist ja auch einer.

Einfache aber saubere Lokalität. Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung passte auch. Den gleichen Eindruck hatte ich vom Service 😁.

Gambas und Muscheln - das ist der Hauptgrund, warum man hier her geht. Beides super lecker. Reichlich Knoblauch ist drin. Die Preise sind absolut ok. So kann man sich seine Vorspeise aus verschiedenen Leckereien zu je 1,50-2,50€/Stück zusammenstellen. Eine Schale Brot ist hier nicht kostenlos, aber für 2€ absolut in Ordnung. Der Service ist etwas holprig, aber es sind Vereinsmitglieder und keine Servicekräfte, wie man es vlt in einem anderen Restaurant erwarten würde. Es ist ein Erlebnis, was wohl an 🇵🇹 erinnert. Kassa ist dann anschließend am Tisch an der Bar - auf kreative Art. Gerne mal im Kopf vorab grob durchgehen, wie die Rechnung ausfallen sollte. Wichtig: nur Bares ist Wahres - keine Kartenzahlung! Parken ist im Wohngebiet Glückssache, aber im Umfeld sollte man eigentlich was finden. Alles in Allem: ich war definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal hier und es ist ein leckeres Erlebnis.

Das Essen und der Service sind gut,die Einrichtung ist schlicht,aber zum Essen gehen völlig ausreichend. Ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Ich war ca vor 14 Tage mit meiner Familie essen und bestellte mir einen Rumpsteak aus der Speisekarte wo es stand 300 gramm, als mein essen kam suchte ich den Steak und sah einen kleinen Steak der nicht mehr als 100 gramm wog. Als ich beim Chef meldete worde er richtig unfreundlich und frech und mich als dumm verkaufe. Ich besitze in Meerbusch einen Restaurant und war für mich einen Verarschung.

Alle Gerichte, die wir hatten, waren sehr lecker und das Personal war super freundlich. Parkplätze sind rar, aber wer suchet der findet.

Typisch portugiesische Küche mit überschaubarer Speisekarte. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir hatten schon einige Gerichte probiert, alle lecker. Unser Favorit: Degenfisch.

Leckere Speisen, sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Service, Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis tiptop. Man sollte sich Zeit nehmen und auch mal durch die hervorragenden Vorspeisen probieren. Ein wirklich tolles und authentisches Lokal was einen Besuch wert ist.

Seit dem Pächterwechsel waren wir inzwischen mehrfach beim Portugiesischen Familienverein essen und wurden nie enttäuscht! Ganz im Gegenteil! Das Essen ist superlecker, wir hatten Gambas, Muscheln, Calamares, Sardinen, Fischfilets, Degenfisch und leckere hausgemachte Desserts. Die Rippchen am Nachbartisch sahen auch superlecker aus. Das Essen ist toll abgeschmeckt und nicht mit Knoblauch überladen. Die Gambas haben sind von guter Qualität und der kräftige Espresso hat das Essen perfekt abgeschlossen. Ganz rund wird das Erlebnis durch die total netten Gastgeber! Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt und auch samstags bei Hochbetrieb war die Stimmung im Service stets positiv und gut gelaunt, was sich natürlich auch auf die Gäste überträgt und auch das Essen kam zügig an den Tisch. Die schlechten Bewertungen mit Schlagwörtern wie "unfreundlich, unverschämt" können wir ganz und gar nicht teilen. Wir mögen die quirlige und familiäre Atmosphäre im Portugiesischen Verein sehr und kommen sicher wieder. Der Weg in die Jägerstraße lohnt sich!

Die besten Gambas in Krefeld kann die bösen Kommentare und Bewertungen gar nicht nachvollziehen waren geschäftlich da seit dem Einführung funktioniert das auch eigentlich viel schneller mit der Bestellung ich meine sind viel viel besser dass die viel besser schmecken nicht in Öl ertrinken also auf jeden Fall eins unserer Lieblingsrestaurants eine kleine Empfehlung die Muscheln und die dann halt mit den Gambas Sauce zu bestellen also vielleicht ist das Ambiente nicht früher nicht ganz gut gewesen aber jetzt ist es ganz ganz anders das kann ja nur besser werden

Der Titel sagt alles! Das Restaurant ist Amateurhaft geführt und absolut unfreundlich! Nie wieder!!!!

Wir hatten für 7 Personen telefonisch reserviert, aber da man keine Reservierung gefunden hat konnten wir wieder gehen. Statt einer Entschuldigung oder Flexibilität, wurde uns geantwortet, dass wir ja viellt im falschen Restaurant sind
