Pizzeria Vis á Vis in Mainz

Wir waren nur essen ohne im Hotel gewesen zu sein. Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam Essen war absolut top Super Preis Leistungsverhältnis

Wir bestellen seit Jahren bei Vis a Vis und waren oft zufrieden. Unsere heutige Erfahrung bewegt mich jedoch dazu, diese Rezension zu verfassen. Ich habe heute Essen bestellt, auf das wir 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten gewartet haben, was wir so nicht kennen von dieser Pizzeria. Als das Essen dann endlich kam ("War halt viel los"), hat mein kleiner Sohn hungrig den Karton mit dem Pizzabrot geöffnet. Dieses war leider trocken und schwarz verbrannt, sowohl oben wie auch die Unterseite. Auch die Calzone meines Mannes war verbrannt (meine Pizza okay). Wir konnten unserem kleinen Kind das Pizzabrot nicht geben - und ich bin da sicher nicht pingelig. So etwas geht leider gar nicht!! Wir mussten das bezahlte Essen teilweise schweren Herzens entsorgen, sehr, sehr schade. Wir werden in naher Zukunft nicht mehr dort bestellen. Als Beweis siehe die Fotos. :(

Bin jedes mal vom Essen und der Qualität begeistert. Super nettes Personal, besser geht fast nicht.

Geschmacklich war die Spaghetti Carbonara gut. Allerdings waren mehrere Stücke einer Eierschale darin. Schade.

Wiedermal alles neu und anders im Restaurant, neue Servicekräfte und anscheinend auch wiedermal neue/r Köche/Koch, man kann sich auf immer neue Überraschungen einstellen, es schmeckt jedesmal ein bißchen anders. Heute waren unsere Pizza's angebrannt, die Pasta mit weniger Sauce und die leckeren knusprig dünnen Pommes gab es auch nicht mehr, die wurden gegen lapprig in normaler Breite eingetauscht. Schade, wir hoffen, Sie finden den Weg zurück zur gewohnten Qualität. Damit wir Stammkunden auch Stammkunden bleiben. Auch schade, daß das sonst so geniale Servicepersonal heute nicht zu finden war und alles nicht gerade rund lief.

Eigentlich 3 von 5 Sternen aber das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und geschmacklich überzeugend. Leider war die Wartezeit recht lang, was den Gesamteindruck etwas getrübt hat. Der Service war nicht unfreundlich, wirkte jedoch eher zurückhaltend und ist nicht aktiv auf die Wünsche der Gäste eingegangen. Insgesamt ein gutes Restaurant mit Verbesserungspotenzial beim Service und der Organisation.

War heute zum 1. mal dort ein Schnitzel essen. Bin sehr positiv überrascht . Günstige Preise, freundliches Personal und sehr lecker. Top, weiter so !

Die Calzone war fantastisch. Ich kann die Zabaglione nur empfehlen, sehr süß 🤌 Der Service war 🥰

Gute Pizza und Nudelgerichte. Schnitzelgerichte sind empfehlenswert. Montag ist Schnitzeltag. Der Service ist grundsätzlich ok.

Das Zimmer war hervorragend und vom Preis-Leistung Verhältnis unschlagbar. Sehr sauber und modern. Das Check in und out unkompliziert. Die Umbebung ist nicht schön, Industriezone, alles sehr steril. Allerdings das Restaurant unten ; sehr schön eingerichtet, sehr nette Bedienung, freundlich und nett, aber.... Pizza hat überhaupt nicht geschmeckt! Sehr lieblos, Teig sehr fest und alles etwas abgebrannt. Pizza Capricciosa hat zu scharf, abgebrant und überhaupt nicht lecker geschmeckt. Jede Wagner Pizza schmeckt besser. Insgesamt: das Hotelzimmer top, das Restaurant flop.

Also, ich kann die positiven Kritiken in keinster Weise nachvollziehen. Wir waren heute mit fünf Personen zum Mittagessen dort. Zwei Leute hatten Zwiebelschnitzel, 1 Person ein Zigeunerschnitzel, das zurückgegeben wurde, weil es erstens verbrannt war und zweitens eine rote Wassersoße ohne Paprika darüber war. Komischerweise hat es keine Minute gedauert, bis ein neuer Teller kam! Eine Person hatte Medaillons mit Pfeffersoße und eine Person hatte eine Pizza. Also eine gute Auswahl, um sich ein Urteil zu bilden. Es war alles völlig ungewürzt, die Schnitzel waren TK- Ware und selbst die Pizza kam uns nicht ganz koscher vor. Alles billigste Ware. Der "gemischte" Salat war Eisbergsalat mit einem Dressing- Flatscher aus der Flasche! Zudem kann sich der Service nicht gerade mit Freundlichkeit rühmen. Alles in allem ist das Massenabfertigung in einem ungemütlichen Ambiente auf unterem Niveau. Kann man nicht weiterempfehlen!

Wie waren heute mit einer Gruppe von 9 Personen da und hier möchte ich kurz meine Eindrücke schildern. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich. Leider war der Ablauf des Service Recht chaotisch. Wir haben ca 15 Minuten auf unsere Getränke gewartet. Bis der letzte am Tisch seine Getränke hatte mussten wir 3x nachfragen weil ständig etwas fehlte. Sogar die Vorspeise kam vor dem Getränken. Auch bei den Hauptspeisen gab es Verwechselungen. Hauptgericht die nicht von uns bestellt waren wurden zu Tisch gebracht. Für mich war es geschmacklich auch nichts besonders. Ich vermute das die Soßen ehr eine Mischung aus Pulver und Pilzen waren. Auch das Dressing für den Salat konnte mich leider nicht überzeugen. Das ist aber nur meine Meinung :) Jeder kann sich selbst seine Bilder machen aber wir kommen nicht mehr ....

„Wer hätte gedacht, dass man beim Italiener so gute Schnitzel bekommt? Wir waren zu zweit da und restlos begeistert: Einmal gab es das Jägerschnitzel und für mich das Gorgonzola-Schnitzel, das wirklich hervorragend war. Die Sauce hatte eine perfekte Balance – nicht zu streng nach Käse, sondern wunderbar sahnig und cremig. Trotz der hohen Auslastung im Restaurant mussten wir nicht lange warten und wurden sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich super. 5 von 5 Sternen!“

Ich war heute mit meiner Freundin zum Essen da. Wir hatten Rumpsteak mit Zwiebeln, Pommes und Salat. Alles war so lecker. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Also wir können das Lokal nur weiter empfehlen.😋👍

Kein Service vorhanden. Wurden trotz mehrfachem Versuch auf uns aufmerksam zu machen ohne Beachtung sitzen gelassen. Gäste von 3 Tischen, welche nach uns kamen, erhielten obendrein Speisekarten und auch zum Teil Getränke. Nach 15 min haben wir das "Restaurant" dann verlassen.

Wir waren nun das zweite Mal mit Gutscheinbuch hier vor Ort. Das erste Mal waren wir von der allgemeinen Unruhe im Restaurante ( überraschenderweise war es trotz der etwas abseits gelegenen Lage knackevoll) und der Qualität der Pizzen nicht begeistert. Aber die Schnitzel sahen damals gut aus. Daher nun ein neuer Anlauf. Wegen einer laute Fastnachtsveranstaltung im Hauptlokal wurden wir in das ruhige Kellerraum-Restaurante umgeleitet. Definitiv nicht die tollste Location, eher ein Partykeller, aber wir wollten einfach nur etwas essen. Die Dame vom Service war schnell, die Schnitzel mit Beilagensalat waren heiß und lecker und die Portionen auch groß. Somit war das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis für die Speisen gut. EDIT 2026: Zwei weitere Schnitzelvarianten ausprobiert. Dank des wirklich guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnisses war das Restaurant wieder sehr voll. Auch die gute Parkplatzsituation ist hier wohl auch ein Vorteil! Eine Reservierung wird empfohlen! ;-)

Super lecker und echt faire Preise. Ich hatte das Gorgonzola Schnitzel. Komme gerne wieder. Ich bin auch kein Bitburger Fan aber vom Fass war es lecker.

Wir waren zum Mittagstisch dort und waren wirklich begeistert. Obwohl extrem viel los war, kam das Essen sehr schnell und war super lecker. Perfekt, wenn man in der Mittagspause etwas Gutes essen möchte. Der Service war freundlich und alles lief unkompliziert und zügig. Die Allergene sind hervorragend auf der Speisekarte ausgewiesen, so wie es sein soll 👌🏻 Guter Mittagstisch, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir waren insgesamt zufrieden mit unserem Besuch. Das Schnitzel mit Pommes war gut und auch die Pizza hat geschmeckt. Bei der Bruschetta war ich zunächst etwas überrascht, da schwarze Oliven darauf waren, was nicht ganz typisch ist. Allerdings muss man sagen, dass es so auch in der Speisekarte angekündigt war. Preislich kann man wirklich nichts sagen, das passt absolut. Die Bedienung war auch freundlich.

Ich kann nur das Essen bewerten und das war mit einem zugedrückten Auge als durchschnittlich zu werten. Der Fisch schmeckte wie aus der TK und die Panade machte es nicht besser. Das Lamm war so trocken, es war bei der Zubereitung quasi ein zweites Mal gestorben. Die Preise sind wirklich gut, aber ich denke bei einem zweiten Besuch würde ich bei Pizza oder Schnitzel bleiben - Keine Experimente.

Das Zimmer ist sauber, der Service ist freundlich und der Standort hier in Mainz ist für mich auf jedenfall gut. Was ich etwas schade finde ist, dass das Zimmer etwas klein ist. Der Tisch, der als Arbeitstisch zur Verfügung steht ist leider weit entfernt von der nächsten Steckdose. Schade auch, dass kein Frühstück angeboten wird. Aber das Essen am Abend ist wirklich gut und empfehlenswert.

Köstlich - Preisgünstig - große Portionen. Schnitzeltag am Montag einfach super. Knusprig Pizza, sehr lecker, frische Zutaten. Hilfsbereites Personal, nette Kellnerin, der Chef ist auch vor Ort und hat immer ein offenes Ohr für seine Kunden. Ich würde es euch definitiv empfehlen. TOP!!👍👍

Waren ohne Reservierung essen. Trotz hoher Auslastung war das Personal sehr freundlich und das Essen war super lecker! Wurde uns von einheimischen Leuten sehr empfohlen und wir können das nur weitergeben. Vorher besser aber reservieren!

War von der Arbeit aus hier. Das Hotel scheint noch recht neu zu sein. Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber. Der Check in war leicht. Im hauseigenen Restaurant kann man gut essen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und die Preise sind fair.

Bei diesem Besuch bin ich dieses Mal nicht ganz so zufrieden gewesen wie ich das bisher immer gewesen bin. Ich gebe dieses mal trotzdem 5 Sterne 🌟 weil ich glaube das der Koch vielleicht einen schlechten Tag hatte. Ich werde es beobachten und gegebenenfalls berichten.

Sehr leckeres Essen (Gorgonzola-Pizza, Rinderfilet, Schnitzel immer top) und ein super freundlicher, zuvorkommender Service. Angenehme Atmosphäre, auch spontan ohne Reservierung fühlt man sich willkommen. Immer wieder gerne! Liebe Grüße nach Mainz und bis demnächst.

Bei dem Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis eines unsere Lieblingsrestaurant. Geschmeckt hat bisher alles. Klar, kann man keine gehobene Küche erwarten, aber bei den Preisen ist das auch völlig okay! Wir gehen da gerne hin wenn wir abends mal keine Lust haben selbst zu kochen.

Ich gehe seit über 20 Jahren dort gelegentlich essen. Das Ambiente ist gut, das Personal sehr freundlich und meine Pizza war bisher immer top.

Wir gehen sehr gerne in das neue "Vis-a-Vis" :) Das Essen ist lecker, die Damen und Herren vom Personal sind freundlich, schnell und auch bemüht, Sonderwünsche zu erfüllen. Ja, wenn es total voll ist, ist es auch mal laut. Da könnte man vielleicht noch was machen mit Geräuschdämmung? Jedenfalls habe ich nie Probleme, wenn ich anderen Menschen "auf Augenhöhe" begegne. Es soll aber Gäste geben, die sich die Leibeigenschaft zurückwünschen - die sind hier falsch.

Wahnsinn! Hier wird man noch richtig satt – und das mit Genuss! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Wer im Raum Mainz nach einem Restaurant sucht, bei dem man nicht nur erstklassig isst, sondern auch mit einem breiten Grinsen (und vollem Bauch!) nach Hause geht, kommt am Vis á Vis in Bretzenheim einfach nicht vorbei. Ich bin absolut begeistert: Heutzutage ist es selten geworden, so riesige Portionen für so kleines Geld zu finden. Hier wird definitiv nicht an den Zutaten gespart! Ob es die Schnitzel sind, die kaum auf den Teller passen, oder die Pasta-Kreationen – man bekommt hier eine Qualität und Menge geboten, die in der Region ihresgleichen sucht. Was mich besonders beeindruckt hat: Preis-Leistung vom Feinsten: Man merkt sofort, dass hier Wert auf die Zufriedenheit der Gäste gelegt wird. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist einfach fabelhaft. Frische & Geschmack: Trotz der üppigen Portionen leidet die Qualität kein bisschen. Alles schmeckt frisch, hausgemacht und ist perfekt abgeschmeckt. Wohlfühlatmosphäre: Das Team ist extrem herzlich und verbreitet eine Energie, die ansteckend ist. Man fühlt sich nicht wie irgendein Gast, sondern wie bei Freunden. Wer Hunger mitbringt und dabei seinen Geldbeutel schonen möchte, ohne auf tolles Ambiente zu verzichten, muss hierher. Ein absolutes Juwel in Mainz! Ich werde das Vis á Vis definitiv jedem weiterempfehlen, der Lust auf ein ehrliches, fabelhaftes Essen hat. Top Empfehlung: Geht unbedingt am Schnitzeltag hin – ein absoluter Traum für jeden Fan der gutbürgerlichen Küche!

Sehr leckeres Essen. Freundlicher Service! Saubere und angenehme Atmosphäre! Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Besuch und werde das Restaurant meinen Freunden und Verwandten wärmstens empfehlen!

Super nette Bedienungen und sehr aufmerksam im Service. Der Chef ist sehr präsent und kümmert sich persönlich um seine Gäste.

Vorab: Ich glaube, wir waren zur falschen Zeit dort. Es war abends und wirklich unverhältnismäßig laut in der Weihnachtszeit. Personell sind die beiden Bedienkräfte leider stark an die Grenzen des Machbaren getrieben worden. Schade für die beiden. Allerdings finde ich es nicht gut, wenn in der Speisekarte Gerichte mit Zutaten beschrieben werden, welche nicht der Wahrheit entsprechen. Hirtenkäse ist nicht Feta. Sieht vielleicht so aus, schmeckt aber bei weitem nicht so und ist auch einfach billiger. Die Bruschetta sollte vielleicht mit dem Hinweis versehen werden, das sich darauf fast ein halbes Einmachglas an schwarzen Oliven befinden. Das war schon geschmacklich ne Mauer, die dafür überwunden werden musste. Ich denke, eine hochwertige Olive als kleine Dekobeilage wäre ausreichend. Geschmacklich ist es dort ok, nichts weltbewegendes. Das Ambiente ist schön, etwas moderner. Der angrenzende zweite Raum hat etwas von Hallenfeeling, da fehlt irgendwas. Wir waren mit dem Schlemmerblock dort und mussten in etwa zwanzig Minuten dort warten, bis Tische frei wurden. Als wir saßen, wurden wir etwa vier Minuten später gebeten, uns nochmal umzusetzen. Bisschen wild alles. Wiederkommen werden wir vermutlich nicht, aber vielleicht nehmt Ihr Euch als Restaurant ja den ein oder anderen Kritikpunkt zu Herzen.

Gutes Essen und ideal angebunden. Wir haben uns schon mehrmals hier verabredet.

Das Carpacio war gut, personal gestresst und genervt, arrabiata war nicht so dolle. Wenn mann mit dem schlemmerblock hingeht lohnt sich das schon, aber wenn mann so hin geht, kann ich das restaurant nicht wirklich empfehlen.

Wir waren am Montag zum Schnitzel-Tag im Vis à Vis – und es hat sich richtig gelohnt! Für nur 8,50 € gab es eine große Auswahl an Schnitzeln zur Wahl. Alles war frisch, lecker und die Portion ordentlich. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell – man hat sich direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel selbst haben wir nicht kennengelernt, aber das Essen und der Eindruck vom Restaurant waren top. Kommen gerne wieder!

Very popular, very crowded, very loud. The food was good and the service was friendly, but the atmosphere wasn't very cozy.

Delicious food at a great price.

Despite prior arrangement and reservation, the table wasn't set for the correct number of people. Since the remaining tables were already occupied by other guests, a satisfactory solution couldn't be found at short notice. Frustrated, we had to eat the pizza, which I found tasteless, at home. At least we were given a discount as consolation. Nevertheless, the location was easily accessible and parking was good.

A romantic and peaceful place, I highly recommend a visit.

A very large pizzeria with many tables, always quite crowded and therefore noisy. The food is good and inexpensive. They also have a schnitzel day for schnitzel fans.

I tried to order seven pizzas by phone outside of regular opening hours – solely for pickup after opening, without expecting anything to be prepared beforehand. Unexpectedly, an employee answered the phone, sounding audibly annoyed from the start. When I placed my order, she sighed, clearly irritated, before taking it. During the call, I was repeatedly told in a curt tone that I could only pick up the pizzas at 5:10 p.m. This was perfectly fine with me, and I made that clear several times. I finally arrived at the restaurant at 5:06 p.m. – the pizzas were already ready. Despite this, the employee behind the counter just looked at me and reiterated "5:10," even though the order was obviously ready and then handed to me immediately. Unfortunately, the unfriendly impression continued at the restaurant. The women behind the counter seemed condescending towards me. When I asked for a receipt, I received the curt reply that I always have to request such things directly on the phone, as it's "too complicated" to create one retroactively. From my own six years of experience in the restaurant industry, I know it only takes a few clicks. On the positive side, the pizza itself was absolutely delicious! However, when ordering seven pizzas, I felt neither welcome nor valued. The service was the only, but unfortunately decisive, drawback for me. The kitchen staff does an excellent job, but I cannot recommend the service in its current form.

We weren't entirely satisfied with the service. We had a child with us at the table, and they forgot about him. The food was only prepared after we asked about it. Another dish was missing bread, and we had to ask for it and wait for that as well. All the other guests received a complimentary shot of schnapps when they paid, but we didn't! The food itself was very good. The portions were generous.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! From the warm welcome at check-in to the farewell, the service was excellent. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the entire hotel exuded an atmosphere of luxury and hospitality. What impressed me most, however, was the hotel's restaurant, which boasts an exquisite selection of delicious dishes. The staff was always attentive and courteous. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would return in a heartbeat!

We ate there again today. Our sixth time this year. So far, we've spent over €200 there. It was shortly after 2 p.m. when we wanted to leave. Almost all the parking spaces were free. A small black car was parked in the exit. Apparently, it belonged to an employee. When I pointed out that he was blocking the exit, I got the rude reply: "I have to park here. I could drive back 20 meters and use the entrance to get out." A complaint to the pizzeria owner unfortunately didn't help. We definitely won't be coming back.

Even with a full house, they made room for us in the basement. Everything was great, nothing to complain about.

Great food at a great price, served by extremely friendly and hardworking staff, and when you're full you go to sleep in a modern and very clean room... simply perfect.

The food was delicious, the portions were very generous, and you definitely won't leave full. The food offered excellent value for money. As is typical in restaurants, the drinks were a bit overpriced, and unfortunately, neither of my drinks were filled to the fill line. It's a shame, but not a deal-breaker. We were also missing a set of cutlery; we had reserved for six people but only received cutlery for five. The atmosphere is really great, although it can get a bit noisy when the restaurant is full. There are unfortunately too few parking spaces. However, I'll gladly come back again.

My top pick for value in Mainz! I'll definitely be back. Keep it up!

Delicious food in a lovely setting. However, the waiter this evening—I believe his name was Patrick—was very rude and incompetent. That's how you lose your regular customers.

Unfortunately, the pizza was not good. The dough was much too thick and not cooked through.

We ordered takeout (cream of tomato soup, bruschetta, Greek salad, pizza bread, and rigatoni arrabbiata). Pickup was quick and easy, and the ingredients were generally fresh. However, the taste was disappointing. The cream of tomato soup tasted like tomato sauce from a carton, the pizza bread was cold and seemed to have been sitting out for a while. The bruschetta consisted of Turkish flatbread with a topping that was more reminiscent of bruschetta. The Greek salad was tasty, but it didn't resemble a classic Greek salad at all. I don't mean to speak ill of anyone, but after two visits, I'm unfortunately not convinced. It's a shame – with a little more attention to detail, the food could be significantly better.

We tried the restaurant using the Schlemmerblock (a discount voucher booklet) and were unfortunately disappointed. The menu sounded very interesting, but the food wasn't particularly good. The staff was friendly, but after it got busier in the evening, they became unavailable. We even had to go to the counter to pay because no one came to our table.

Yesterday was our first time at Vis á Vis, using the Schlemmerblock (a discount voucher booklet), and we were pleasantly surprised. The photo in the book had suggested a small pizzeria with spartan decor, but instead, we found ourselves in front of a pizzeria with large windows, plenty of seating, and ample parking. Even though it was very busy and we had only called ahead, we were given a nice table. The menu is very diverse, offering many meat dishes in addition to pizza and pasta. The number of other diners' plates showed that this selection is quite popular. We ordered a portion of mussels in tomato sauce as a starter, followed by a salami pizza with double cheese and spaghetti carbonara as our main courses. For dessert, we had a portion of tiramisu. We placed the Schlemmerblock on the table, and the server immediately saw it when taking our order and removed the coupon. She explained that she needed the coupon when taking our order; it wouldn't be possible to add it later! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The mussels in tomato sauce were served with flatbread and were absolutely delicious. The pizza, with its fluffy yet crispy crust, was also fantastic. The spaghetti carbonara, made with ham and cream instead of bacon, egg, and Parmesan, was exactly to my liking. Unfortunately, the tiramisu had taken on a refrigerator taste and wasn't as tasty. But we were very satisfied and quite full from the generous portions. The spaghetti carbonara was free thanks to the discount voucher, and we know we'll definitely be back!

Don't go here with a discount voucher. I can understand that it's not really profitable for restaurants if people order two dishes and share a bottle of water. We were there with our child, and unfortunately, they didn't offer children's meals, so our child and I ordered a regular dish. My husband wanted to try the mussels. We would have liked to try all three desserts and get two pizzas for the older children to take away. Unfortunately, we didn't get that far because we presented the discount voucher before ordering, which wasn't well received. The server informed us that the mussels would now cost an extra €4. All in all, the discount voucher was a real mood killer. It's a shame because the restaurant actually seemed nice, and we would have liked to try it, but after the negative experience, we will avoid this restaurant in the future.

The restaurant is my absolute favorite place 🫶 the food is incredibly delicious and the prices are very affordable. That's why I come here 2-3 times a month. I can't comment on the hotel rooms upstairs, though, as I didn't use them.

I only went to the restaurant. The food was delicious. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly.

We've been regular customers for many years and are completely satisfied every time. The food is always excellent, and there's absolutely nothing to complain about. Pickup is always smooth and very quick. The staff is also extremely friendly and works quickly – everything just works perfectly here!

We made a reservation at the restaurant, had to wait a short while, and then the table was free. The food arrived within a reasonable time and was OK. From the beginning, we had our snack block at the edge of the table for everyone to see. In the end, it was rejected because we didn't shout loudly and clearly to the stressed-out wait staff that we had a snack block. I don't think we'll come back, but the owner can't care that the restaurant is always full.

The price/performance ratio is excellent. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. The menu is very extensive, from pizza and pasta to schnitzel. I highly recommend it.

A family member celebrated his birthday there – and honestly? It wasn't a normal evening. From the very first minute: great atmosphere, attentive service, and spot-on food! Crispy pizza, perfect pasta – everything was simply amazing. And the best part: You don't feel like a guest here, but like part of the family. And you know what the absolute best thing about it is? You walk out, laugh, are full – and just think to yourself: This is exactly how it should be!

The price-performance ratio here is 100% right. The menu is very extensive, the pizzas are well-filled and crispy. The meat and pasta portions are generous. The service is particularly outstanding. The restaurant was packed, but the waitress was still very friendly and attentive. The dishes were served promptly. I also like that the salads are available as small portions.

I am absolutely disappointed with Vis à Vis. The loyalty program, which is actively promoted here, was not honored on four consecutive deliveries. Each time, I was refused the promised stamp, even though the drivers assured me they would provide it "next time." I have informed the restaurant in writing about this repeated defect – unfortunately, to date, without any response. In my opinion, the whole thing represents a clear violation of applicable consumer law, particularly with regard to misleading advertising and inadequate fulfillment of contractual agreements (Section 5 of the Unfair Competition Act, Sections 241 (2) and 311 (2) of the German Civil Code). If a company actively promotes a loyalty program, it must also reliably provide this service. I recommend avoiding this restaurant if you value transparent and honest customer relationships. Such practices are simply unacceptable.

Great restaurant right in the hotel, fast service, reasonable prices, delicious food. I haven't eaten this well and this cheaply in a long time. Even cheaper on Schnitzel Monday.

Modern and brightly furnished rooms. We had a (really) small room. The double bed is quite narrow. It's fine for one or two nights. The bathroom, however, is pleasantly large and modernly furnished. The towel hook hanging over the toilet brush... totally unacceptable. But I knew how to deal with it (from experience). The hotel is located in an industrial park. The noise level varies. It's moderate from the street. It's quite disturbing from the field/highway. (With the window open.) The pizzeria deserves special mention. Pleasant ambiance, terrace for outdoor seating, and very reasonable prices. A rump steak with herb butter and fries plus salad for just under €20.

The food was quite good, although it took a while, as did the waitresses' service. What ruined the whole experience, however, was that even though I had a voucher (online from a third-party provider) and I had told the waitress this before ordering, and she clearly acknowledged it with my companion's confirmation, she didn't accept it when paying. Apparently, she couldn't remember it, even though my companion and I were 100% sure she had accepted the voucher before we ate. In the end, we had to pay the full amount. Unfortunately, this made the service look bad!

Delicious pizza Friendly service Very noisy inside

Very good food, lots of space, great for parties of all kinds, pleasant staff, lovely terrace and plenty of parking. We'd be happy to come back anytime. PS: They even have Bolognese schnitzel on request, which unfortunately isn't on the menu.

The pizzeria is very good. Whether it's pasta or pizza...very tasty. Friendly and very good service. The rooms are very clean and well-equipped. The tram is close by, and you can quickly get to the center of Mainz. We've been there several times and will be back!

Our second visit to Vis à Vis – and we were thrilled again! 🌟 The food is fresh, excellent, and even the starter was a highlight. All our requests were met, and the service was super friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating inside and outside, fair prices, and a great atmosphere. We only visited the restaurant, not staying at the hotel – but we absolutely recommend it for dinner!

Kerb Tuesday, August 12th, was a complete disaster. I had actually wanted to reserve a table for six people at 5:30 p.m. to eat liver dumplings, but was told that it would be quite full by then and whether we could come at 7 p.m. No sooner said than done, we arrived at the restaurant on time, only to discover that the liver dumplings were sold out—what a disappointment. Now we have to wait another year for the next Kerb in Bretzenheim, but whether we'll reserve at the same restaurant again is still questionable. A very disappointed guest.

Back here after 25 years Expanded to a hotel Like

Normally, this restaurant deserves 5 stars. But I ordered a French onion soup, which apparently said "my own imagination." But it was water-soluble, with red cabbage and onions, and tasted terrible. But otherwise, the food was amazing. Pasta with scallops, cheese, and mushrooms. Excellent. We were there with a gourmet block. In the restaurant, you can sit down with the air conditioning. Staff friendly, but a bit overwhelmed. But always helpful. Parking right outside. And perfectly suitable for wheelchair users.

We ate at the pizzeria for the first time in August 2025. The food was delicious! The portions were large, the prices very reasonable. The service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We felt very comfortable there and will definitely come back! I do have a small suggestion, though: Since I have a vegetarian in the family, I would like to see one or two vegetarian highlights on the menu. Something that not every restaurant offers, like celery schnitzel. Unfortunately, every restaurant has the vegetarian options there, and the number of vegetarians is growing steadily. I think it's time to get a bit more inventive here. But that applies to most restaurants! I definitely trust this restaurant to be more inventive, and my daughter would certainly appreciate it! Very tasty food and great ambience

First impressions were very positive; the starters arrived quickly and were also very good. When ordering, I asked if I could have tagliatelle instead of gnocchi for my main course, and I was assured it would be fine. Shortly before the food arrived, I was told it was made with gnocchi and whether that was okay. I accepted it; mistakes happen. However, from the moment the food arrived, we were barely served. Our plates remained on the table for 20-30 minutes after we had finished. We weren't even asked if everything was okay, if the food tasted good, etc. We sat there for over an hour afterward; we had to get our attention so we could order something to drink. Unfortunately, no one came to us after that, even though the place was no longer full and the waiters were standing at the counter. We wanted to order a pizza to go and dessert each, but unfortunately, that didn't happen because it took too long. We had to walk up to the counter ourselves to finally pay. The food was quite good, but the service was terrible. I wouldn't go back.

We spent one night there. It was simply fantastic! I can recommend it 100%. The three-bed room was spacious and, above all, very clean! Everything looked very new. The man who handed over the keys was very polite, and check-in was very quick. We were also very tired after a 9-hour drive with traffic jams. There's Aldi, Lidl, Edeka, and a few more around the corner...

Perfect for a one-night stay. Very clean. Very friendly staff and delicious food.

***Update*** The operator's response is untrue and has nothing to do with this review. This isn't about a group of 22 people or vouchers. This is about poor, unfriendly service and undercooked dishes. We actually didn't encounter any friendliness during our entire stay. This review isn't fake, and the description reflects our actual experience (raw meat, for example). This profile isn't fake either. I don't usually write many reviews online. However, our experience here was so bad that I wanted to inform the public. ***Original message*** We can only advise against this and give it one star because less is the only way. We waited a very long time for our food today. Unfortunately, some of the meat was raw and was only reluctantly "repaired." We had to place drink orders several times before we finally got something.

I can't really understand the positive reviews here. I was here with a friend, and we both ordered the farmer's skewer (€21 each), one with fries and the other with croquettes as a side dish. When the dishes arrived after a long wait, both were still raw (pork!). We had the food taken back to the kitchen to be cooked through. When the waitress brought the food again, I suddenly had croquettes as a side dish, and the food was still raw?!? I asked the waitress why I suddenly had the wrong side dish, to which she contradicted me quite vigorously, saying that I definitely should have had croquettes as a side dish. A bit strange, considering I know exactly what side dish was on my plate just moments before?! She then brought fries that were pretty dried out. To top it all off, my friend found a dead fly in her food. What a disaster—I'm not going here again.

The rump steak was very tasty and tender. I ordered it with onions and extra herb butter. Unfortunately, the herb butter had completely melted in the container between the lettuce leaves and was practically nonexistent, hence one star deduction.
