Pizzeria San Marino in Kassel

A good and affordable pizzeria in the neighborhood, right around the corner. I've been a regular there since I moved to the Südstadt district 15 years ago. Large and tasty portions, served quickly, varying depending on the dish, attentive and friendly staff. The noise level can be a bit high at times, the atmosphere is like a train station. Credit card payments are not accepted; it's clearly stated on the door, only cash or debit card. However, I would appreciate a sharp knife; the one provided is dull, making it difficult to cut the pizza. It's usually packed on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Currently closed due to a basement fire - until when?

Food was great and very very friendly service! Fresh ingredients and freshly cooked, piping hot food! The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Beautifully crafted Pastas and huge portion sizes. Would definitely recommend for reasonable charges.

Very, very tasty pizza, the price-performance ratio here is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the chairs, cutlery, etc. are a bit dated, but the service is great, there are great pictures on the walls, and the food is very, very good.

Always 100% perfect! The macaroni al forno is cooked to perfection and plentiful (you can't get that anywhere else for 9 thalers), and the gnocchi are perfect. Word seems to have gotten around among the many young people in the restaurant.

A typical Italian restaurant. Huge pizzas and large pasta dishes. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Other restaurants should take their cue from this. It's possible to have both quality and value for money. We're not from Kassel. We'll eat there again on our next visit.

The food is okay, and that's why it deserves a star. But anyone who supports a football club that engages in such outrageously antisocial and unsportsmanlike behavior should reconsider their corporate philosophy.

It's also nice to sit outside, despite being on the main road. The pizza is incredibly delicious and you won't find it anywhere else at this price.

San Marino used to be very good! Now the pizzeria has been completely run down!!! Today we got pizza, and it was very, very, very bad! Inedible!! They told me on the phone that they were having problems with the oven. The dough was bland/dry with air bubbles, and the arugula was rotten. No compensation whatsoever!!!! We'll never eat at/from you again!!! That moment when you stay hungry 🥴

The food is very tasty here and the pizzas are big enough that you can eat more than enough. If Mamá is working in the kitchen, make sure you order pizzas because they are super tasty.

A real hidden gem in my opinion! We eat here regularly because the pizzas are delicious and also very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is rather rustic. The staff are always up for a laugh. We love coming back. You can sit inside or outside. It can get a bit noisy when it's very busy, but that didn't bother us.

Great food. Depending on how much you can eat, you can easily take the leftovers home with you. We were served very quickly. They regularly checked on us and asked if we needed anything else. It was a lovely, relaxed meal with friendly staff, and for my youngest, the pizza was brought to our table already sliced.

A rustic place that doesn't immediately demonstrate its potential. Great and very tasty food. Friendly service. But as I said, the first impression of the interior and the feeling of sitting in a waiting area is completely wrong. Best pizza within a 30 km radius!!!!!!

The pizzas have always been fantastic – until today. Unfortunately, the pizza was almost impossible to cut, and the toppings slid off just by looking at it. It's a real shame, because we've been truly impressed with this pizzeria until now.

It all started with the service. The male waiter was very unfriendly and even forgot to ask guests for drinks and had salad number seven. Ruccola tomatoes, parmesan cheese that’s it. Had to ask for dressing then got vinegar and oil in a shabby bottle full of greasy. Still very unfriendly service. You really had to push yourself to be allowed to order drinks. We were there with about 15 people. The casseroles didn't taste good either. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. We won't see me there as a guest again. So not recommended.

The food is really great and the price-performance ratio is also very good. However, the service is sometimes very rude, especially if you want to pay by card.

Child-friendly and quick service - the menu has many nice dishes. the current Pizza Margherita costs €8.

I got a second pizza because the first one was burnt. I was allowed to take both of them with me. With this promotion you have earned yourself one more regular customer. Take Avanti Vellmar as an example, who sold me a 60x40 Magherita with raw ham and raw peppers on top at full price. No hiding it with cheese on top, just obviously cheeky and disrespectful.

A chance discovery when my partner moved to Kassel. One of our favorite restaurants ever since! The ambience is simple but authentic. The food is delicious and the value for money is unbeatable! Large portions with friendly service. We always enjoy coming here 🫶🏼

There were 5 of us in the suburb. A pizza was ordered 4 times, a calzone and a tomato soup, 2 pizzas arrived after about 25 minutes, mine shortly afterwards and I was told straight away that my pizza was with olives, which I had specially canceled beforehand, the lady said to me if it was a problem, I said yes, then she said OK, we'll make you a new one. After 5 minutes she came back with the same pizza, only some of the olives had been removed. She lied to me blatantly about getting a new pizza, I have no problem if a mistake happens, but lying to your face is an impudence. After my pizza arrived for the second time, Cie calzone arrived and I spoke to the lady where the last pizza was. This took another 10 minutes. It took about 55 minutes from the time we ordered to the point where everyone had their main course. Absolutely not recommended the store.

Das Essen war sehr einfach, keine Würze auf dem Belag oder ggfl. eine leckere Tomatendauce. Die Calzone sehr trocken und nur in der Mitte gefüllt. Mit einem Pizzabrot hätte man den gleichen Geschmack gehabt. Bestellung ohne Oliven, Oliven erhalten, wir machen Ihnen eine Neue. Pizza kam zurück, es wurden lediglich die Oliven runtergesammelt (restlichen/vergessenen) noch drauf. Atmosphäre sehr anstrengend, kaum Unterhaltung möglich durch Lautstärke.

Delicious food, good prices and friendly service. If everything works until special guests arrive, then the service is no longer recommended! Then it got very loud and the back exit was left open for a long time and became uncomfortably cold. What a shame!

Came across this restaurant at a conference in Kassel. Hardly noticeable from the outside, you wouldn't think what was about to happen: the dishes are all so delicious that you won't stop eating because of their size. Pizzas are huge and almost enough for two. Noodles are also very tasty and the portion is very large.

First the positive The portions were very large The service attentive. The prices are cheap The rest was satisfactory. A mista salad without any taste is not possible at all. We probably won't come back.

Didn't accept credit cards and staff were rude. The food was mediocre.

I went here on the advice of a local. The pizza was indeed really tasty and very large and for a very reasonable price. The only downside is that I could not pay with my Dutch debit card or credit card. Their ATM would only accept German cards. I have not experienced this anywhere else in Germany and find it very customer unfriendly. Moreover, I was not told this in advance, so I had to go to the gas station further down the road after dinner.

Inconspicuous place but it was convincing. We were there in a large group and the food came at the same time and was really hot. The taste is also great! Prices cheaper than expected.

Unfortunately, my Cabonara pasta was still al dente, the food was over salted and the egg became hard. (Unfortunately, egg white was also used which was very tasty). I told the waitress my concern but it was still ignored. Of course I didn't eat it. Very unfortunate.

Used to be my favorite Italian restaurant. Unfortunately it has worn off quite a bit. The salad was bland with almost no dressing. There was no salt in the pizza dough. The gratinated gnocchi were swimming in far too much oil. When it was pointed out that there was too much oil, the guest was blamed because he ordered it gratinated. Toilets could also be cleaner.

Advice from a colleague led me here. And I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. A nice selection of pizza and pasta awaits guests. Italian life rages around you. The setup is perfect cliché and kind of fun. We were surprised with incredibly delicious food and the price is really unbeatable. The disadvantage is that it is a very loud restaurant and it is quite difficult to have a conversation as there is a lot of noise. But if that doesn't matter to you, you can enjoy a great meal here. However, if it is too loud, you can also order here and simply have the pizza delivered to your home. We will be back!

Super nice team who were able to give me and my children a table at short notice. Children loved the spagetti carbonara and the lasagna. In terms of price, the food is also very reasonable and not as completely overpriced as in comparable restaurants

Sehr lecker. Hier kann man Essen wie in Italien. Noch dazu sehr günstig und freundliche, familiäre Bedienung. Immer wieder ein Erlebnis.

Trotz großer Gruppe und Bestellung nacheinander haben alle gleichzeitig das Essen bekommen, begeistert! Sehr schnell sehr lecker, die kleinen Fischchen frisch.

War schon mal deutlich besser, Pizza weniger belegt, dafür breiter und harter Rand nur mit Tomatensauce, mit dem stumpfen Messer kommt da keine Freude auf!

Die Pizza war leider nicht wirklich durch. Der Teig war nicht vollständig gebacken. Wahrscheinlich wäre die Pizza vier Sterne wert aber leider kann ich da keine vier Sterne geben. Das Personal wirkte genervt und hektisch.

Früher liebte ich dieses Lokal. Nun war ich zum ersten Mal seit 3-4 Jahren da. Bin leider enttäuscht von Pizza. Billige Zutaten, Teig in der Mitte net ganz durch. Service könnte zuvorkommender und netter sein. Das machen ältere Männer. Etwas mehr Freundlichkeit und Lächeln wie in Trattorias in Italien wäre von Vorteil. Na ja, alles ändert sich..

Super leckere Pizza! Meistens dauerst es nur 20min dann ist die Pizza abholbereit. Gute Große und fairer Preis. Mann sollte bei der Bestellung erwähnen das die Pizza nicht zu knusprig werden soll, außer einem schmeckt es so! Netter Service das muss man auch erwähnen.

Ich habe eine sehr große Pizza bekommen für 9€, und es waren tatsächlich einige Kirschtomaten drauf, nicht so wie bei anderen, bei denen eine einzige halbierte Kirschtomate auf der Pizza liegt! Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett und schnell ging es auch. (Freitag Abend!) Ich werde wieder kommen!

Leckere Nudelgerichte sowie sehr großen Pizzen

Die Pizzen sind geschmacklich OK, aber auch nichts besonderes. Was stört bzw. Abstriche macht, ist der große, trockene Rand, der ca. 1/4 der Pizza ausmacht. Auch eigenartig bzw. ärgerlich: es fehlt eine (sonst übliche) 4-Käse-Pizza.

Sehr gutes Essen und ein ausgezeichnetes Ambiente sowie ein brillantes Preis-Leistverhältnis zeichnen das San Marino aus.

EDIT: Leider konnten wir nicht mit Kreditkarte, geschweige denn mit AMEX zahlen. Leider auch kein Apple Pay möglich. Hi, Nach einer Wanderung durch die Aue sind wir zum Essen hierher gekommen. Essen bekommen haben wir relativ schnell. Die Pizza ist “okay”, gerade weil ich Hunger hatte. Jedoch finde ich den Teig etwas pappig und es ist viel Salz auf dem Schinken. Meine Freundin findet die Pepsi schmeckt nicht, wie sie es gewohnt ist. Das San Marino ist wohl okay, aber exzellenter Service mit super leckerer Pizza, ist hier nicht gegeben.

Ein tolles und authentisches italienisches Restaurant. Leckere Pizzen, tolle Antipasti und leckerer Wein. Und preislich obendrein auch noch super. Seit Jahren gern hier hin!

Essen immer sehr gut könnte zum Teil aber etwas heißer serviert werden. Service spitze und gern auch zum scherzen aufgelegt. Terrasse liegt leider 10 m neben einer Hauptstraße... Ist halt nicht zu ändern.
