Pizzeria Pinocchio Il Piccolo Giardino in Erkelenz

Wir waren gegen 17:10 Uhr ohne Reservierung im Restaurant. Obwohl noch ein Tisch bis 19:00 Uhr frei war, hatten wir von Anfang an das Gefühl, nicht wirklich willkommen zu sein. Vor unseren Ohren fiel die Bemerkung: „Wenn die bis 19 Uhr weg sind...“, was keinen besonders gastfreundlichen Eindruck hinterließ. Die Bedienung war insgesamt leider sehr unfreundlich und wirkte genervt. Auch die Bestellung wurde eher lieblos aufgenommen. Die Brötchen mit Kräuterbutter wurden ohne jede Freundlichkeit serviert. Leider konnte uns auch das Essen nicht überzeugen. Die Pizza Spaghetti entsprach überhaupt nicht unseren Erwartungen. Der Belag war sehr flüssig, wodurch die Pizza insgesamt wenig appetitlich war und geschmacklich ebenfalls nicht überzeugen konnte. Schade, denn wir hatten uns auf den Besuch gefreut. Freundlicher Service und eine bessere Qualität der Speisen hätten den Aufenthalt deutlich angenehmer gemacht.

Top Lage, Außenbereich im Sommer erste Wahl!

Leider kann ich das Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen. Die Pizza war von unten verbrannt, in den Nudeln war ein Haar, und das Personal war unfreundlich. Zusätzlich wurden die Gläser oben am Rand angefasst, also genau dort, wo man trinkt. Für mich hygienisch und vom Service her leider enttäuschend.

Eine der besten Pizzerien am Ort. Der Besitzer ist immer mega freundlich und typisch sizilianische. Eine Besuch lohnt sich immer.

Ein schönes Ambiente, sehr familiär, persönlich und ungezwungen. Die negativen Anmerkungen bezüglich des Services sind für mich nicht wirklich verständlich. Wir empfanden die Kellner sowie die Köche & den Chef, welcher uns persönlich bediente als sehr angenehm, freundlich und kompetent. Auch die Rechnung war bisher immer nachvollziehbar - und wir besuchten das Restaurant bisher relativ regelmäßig. Auf die Allergie eines Freundes wurde jedes Mal Rücksicht genommen & es stellte nie ein Problem dar, seine Pizza dem anzupassen. Teilweise wurde mit den Zutaten leider sehr sparsam umgegangen - da würde ich mir etw. mehr Großzügigkeit wünschen - nicht bei den Portionen an sich, die waren völlig ausreichend, sondern bei anderen Komponenten wie u.a den Garnelen, dem Krebsfleisch, dem Steak, Gemüse u Fisch (Pasta/Pizza).

Einer der besten Italiener bei denen ich jemals war. Ich beziehe mich hierbei auf die Pizza. Diese ist sehr luftig vom Teig, Geschmacklich top und man schmeckt die frischen Zutaten. Absolut empfehlenswert, Vorsicht Suchtgefahr!

Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung – geschmacklich solide, aber nichts, was besonders hervorsticht. Leider wurde dieser neutrale Eindruck stark vom Umgang mit den Gästen überschattet. Die Freundlichkeit ließ deutlich zu wünschen übrig. Es war nicht erkennbar, wer Chef, Kellner oder Servicekraft ist, was zu einem chaotischen und unprofessionellen Gesamteindruck führte. Besonders kritisch: Wir haben keine Rechnung erhalten, obwohl wir ausdrücklich danach gefragt haben. Das wirkt nicht nur unorganisiert, sondern wirft auch Fragen zur Seriosität auf. Geldwäsche oder Illegaler Handel dort sind nicht ausgeschlossen. Insgesamt bleibt der Eindruck eines Lokals, das beim Essen okay ist, aber beim Service und der Transparenz dringend nachbessern muss.

Very delicious food, great Italian flair, very nicely decorated, but... the service from the waitress who was primarily responsible for our table left a lot to be desired: the job seemed beneath her dignity, she committed various faux pas (e.g., clearing plates while the food was still being eaten, and on the other hand, "leaving us high and dry"), and her tone was distinctly bored and even annoyed the whole time. When paying by card, the brazen default setting was that a 10% tip was to be added – and (unfortunately) only when I got home did I realize that I had been overcharged for a glass of wine (€7). I'm giving this four stars for the truly great food and the ambiance – but the service definitely needs to change; just looking good isn't enough, unfortunately – and the way they treat people who want to pay by card should also be reconsidered. I'd love to come back again in the spring/summer when you can sit outside in the beautiful, newly designed square—but I hope the staff will have changed by then and will definitely check my bill on-site.

We visited here for dinner three times in total: twice as a couple and once as a group of three. There won't be a fourth visit. The pizza was well-topped, but the dough was definitely too salty. Consequently, the pizza rolls were also inedible. The spaghetti portion, served in a deep bowl, contained numerous very short pieces of pasta in the bottom half – it looked like leftovers from another meal. Now you might ask why we didn't complain right then and there? Our third visit was actually intended to determine whether this time (as at least on one previous visit) the billing would be handled in a very "creative" way. And yes, it did – since we were certain that we wouldn't visit this restaurant again under these circumstances, and we didn't want to let a disagreement with the waiter spoil our evening after a wonderful concert, we silently acknowledged the difference between the price on the menu and the bill and, as a small "concession," saved the tip. Incidentally, during the meal, a guest came in and complained about his bill for a larger group from the previous day. What a shame—is that necessary?

I've long disliked the boss's arrogant manner, but at least the food has been decent so far. Today, however, was my last visit to this restaurant. Aside from the fact that we received our food at different times (there were five of us), we were first told that the "sea bream" with two side dishes that one of us had ordered was out. He then ordered something else, and immediately after the new order, three of the five of us received our food. Then we were told that the sea bream was still there (the waitress seemed new and overwhelmed). Okay, I ordered the sea bream with two side dishes. The sea bream then arrived without any side dishes, along with a salad that we hadn't even ordered or wanted. Then we were suddenly told that the rosemary potatoes and grilled vegetables we had ordered were also out. It looked anything but appetizing. Later, we were told again that "rosemary potatoes were still there." It took a while for the sea bream to get cold, and after a long wait, he canceled the rosemary potatoes. By now, my appetite had vanished. Above all, not a word of apology. A bit of helpless gesticulation and an offer of an espresso were all that came when we expressed our dissatisfaction. Then, to top it all off, the bill arrived: Not only were we charged the full price, but we were also charged the full price plus side dishes (which hadn't even arrived). Since the note only contained numbers and amounts, I wasn't able to figure it out until later. That was our last visit, and solely because of the way this whole mess was handled. Absolutely unacceptable. Never again.

The food was delicious, but the portions were small. I've never seen a bill that's incomprehensible, where you run to the cashier instead of being billed at the table, to the guest.

Immer wieder lecker 😋 Nette Atmosphäre

For us, this is the best Italian restaurant in town. Always good food (and the most delicious pizza rolls free of charge), always a good atmosphere, and friendly staff. You always feel like a regular, even if you haven't been there in a while. The chef's food recommendations are always spot on (just ask).

Despite the reasonable prices, the pizza has become significantly smaller and the toppings are poor. The taste is still perfectly fine, though. The pasta portions are also manageable. The price-performance ratio is no longer right. The wrong price was charged at checkout.

Man kann sehr schön draußen sitzen. Freundliche Bedienung, der italienische Inhaber begrüßt und verabschiedet die Gäste persönlich. Vorab gibt es leckere Pizzabrötchen mit Kräuterbutter. Wir hatten einen leckeren Salat, pikante Tortellini und zum Schluss Tiramisu. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The pizza rolls and butter were great, the pizzas and pasta were perfect and the wines were a great match. His team and Toni are super friendly and attentive. Addition from April 5, 2025 Due to a family celebration with 14 people, we had to go to this restaurant again because we were invited. The table was reserved at 6 p.m. This wasn't ready at 5:45 p.m. because it had been given away spontaneously beforehand and we had to wait in the aisle with 14 people because we were there 15 minutes ahead of time, of course. The tables were now deserted but it took almost 10 minutes for someone from the service to clear and clean the tables even though we were already waiting for the tables. Later, at 7 p.m., there was another group there that we happened to know, who even waited outside until 7:30 p.m. for their table, even though they had a reservation and it was now very cold outside. There was also no compensation in the form of a drink from the house. The place where we sat was uncomfortable. Our society was divided in half by a pillar and you could only interact with half the people. We sat right at the entrance, so it was drafty the whole time because the entrance door had to stay open so that the service could serve the hard-core people who were sitting outside on the market square in jackets. At the expense of the guests in the restaurant, you seem to want to take every euro with you. To top it off, cigarette smoke wafted through the open entrance door and further soured the atmosphere. The menu has an extremely large selection and could be one of the reasons why things are not going well in our opinion. The prices for pizzas are no longer standard prices but now start at €11 and go up to €13. Pasta is similar but sometimes even more expensive. I think fish was €29.50. The service was inattentive and couldn't distinguish an ice tea that was ordered from a ginger ale that was ordered, so my wife had to help the service. It was difficult to order new drinks because the service was rarely available. At least this time the right drinks arrived. I find the drink prices to be very high. €7 for a glass of Montepulciano and even €11 for a Primitivo. I think the 11€ for a simple pizzeria is cheap. The non-alcoholic drinks are also very expensive. We ordered pasta dishes 4 times, fish dishes 2 times and pizza 8 times. All pasta dishes were not aldente and absolutely bland in taste and the portions were also very small for the price. Neither of us were happy with the noodles. Of the 8 pizzas, one was ok. The others had a burnt edge and the inside was not through, or the outside was fine and the rest was almost raw and soggy from the topping. The pizzas with scampi only had 4 scampi on each pizza. With tuna it was about 2-3 forks and the salami on the pizza was also almost burnt. The fish plates for €29.50 were outrageous We had salmon and hake. The dishes consisted of a small piece of fish and a small side salad of just Lolo Rosso and a tomato. Nothing else. I've never seen anything like that in a pizzeria. In addition, it should be said that a complaint was lodged with Google against my review from August 13, 2024, which explains why there are so few negative reviews. Of course, you can present a false picture to the customer if you try to get rid of all negative reviews instead of eliminating the errors. That was on August 13, 2024: The staff is friendly but we got a Sprite instead of water and had to complain. The food also took longer than usual and all 3 pizzas had burnt edges over half of the pizza. My wife's pasta dish consisted of thrown together pasta that wasn't aldente. The taste also lacked at least salt and pepper and was therefore quite bland. The location consists of a hose and you don't find it very comfortable.

The advertised onion soup was a clear broth with 3 raw onion rings, not recommended as such. Just this much about the innkeeper: no star, very inflexible and rude, you can tell that the guests are rated according to 2 categories. Therefore no more visits to this location.

We went there as a family 2 children 2 adults. The weather was beautifull the restaurant installed large umbrella on the terasse. The menu is pretty big, the food is delicious and the service just perfect. And the spielplatz next to it make it perfect for children too. We loved it, we will come back, for sure.

We spontaneously ate here with the team and were thrilled. All 8 dishes were super tasty. The various pizzas and pasta dishes, the dessert including cappuccino and coffee were all great. Wanted to spend a nice evening with a group of 9 people. Unfortunately nothing came of it! Our order was taken and drinks were brought. It started with the waiter swapping the Sprite and the water. Afterwards we got delicious pizza rolls. The pasta dishes arrived a good hour after we ordered. There was no trace of the pizzas!! After an hour and a half the last pizza arrived and the pasta had already been eaten! It was only when we asked that we noticed that our food was missing. After the first pizzas arrived, we asked if everyone had been served. But there were still three dishes missing. As if that wasn't enough, my pizza also had shrimp on it, which wasn't on the menu and to which I'm severely allergic. We were in a bad mood and felt bad because we couldn't all eat together. Price-wise it was okay. But due to the remaining circumstances, I will never enter this restaurant again and advise everyone against the experience. There are really nice Italian restaurants in Erkelenz but this is not one of them.

The reason why you “go out to eat” as a group of friends has disappeared because of the past visit to Pinocchio. The reason is eating TOGETHER. Today I was very disappointed that after about an hour of waiting, 5 out of 9 people got their food, then (after the first people had already finished) the next 3 and the last person were completely forgotten. The last person had to eat their food completely alone and everyone was allowed to watch. After speaking to the staff about this situation, the criticism was not taken into account and they did not even apologize for this inconvenience! In addition, the table was still full until the end with the empty plates of the pizza roll appetizer, which worsened the already irritable mood. It is impossible that it could be because we or these circumstances were overlooked. In terms of price, I would rate the whole thing as good, but I still wouldn't recommend the Pinocchio and I won't be visiting the Pinocchio again!

One of the best pizzerias far and wide. Always friendly and cheerful staff. Because of this, a visit without a reservation is a matter of luck. It's also worth asking about daily specials. There are really good deals, especially when it comes to fish. The price is in the upper segment but the quality and service are good. But there is a small downer. Was there again yesterday after a few months. What was surprising was that I had the impression that the pizza plates had become significantly smaller and that the pizza and salad were adapted to the dishes. My pizza was barely bigger than a frozen pizza from the supermarket and the salad was lost in the bowl. Unfortunately, the pizza was also a little tasteless, which I'm not used to. I hope this was just a blip and doesn't become the norm. If so, the price of €11 for a standard pizza is unfortunately no longer justified.

The pizza was so-so... Based on the reviews on Google, I expected something better. Although I heard Italian in the place, the pizza is more American than Italian... the dough is rubbery and not at all the way I like it. I asked for the pizza to be spicy, but it was a bit more mild. I won't go back there again... and I'm a pizza lover... It's a pity 😞

Nice restaurant and good service. The pizza is really great and many other things are also good. I find the pasta portions a bit manageable, but the price is absolutely okay. You just have to tell Toni exactly what you want and negotiate - a bit like at the bazaar and also fun - then everything is fine. Always my pleasure.

Pizzas are ok, standard for the price. But I can't recommend eating in the restaurant. It is very loud as noises from the kitchen and bar echo throughout the restaurant. There are also the voices of the guests, which is of course normal. Unfortunately there is no insulation in the room, just bare concrete walls. Overall very uncomfortable and not recommended on the weekend. Perhaps more recommended for collection.

A carbonara with cooked ham and cream sauce. I tried for a long time to imagine a spaghetti carbonara, but without success. Since the pizza we ordered was okay, a benevolent 3 stars. Dear Pizzeria Pinocchio, because I know how proud all Italians are of their food culture and spaghetti carbonara is one of their favorite dishes, please consider at least changing the name.

Gestern zum ersten Mal dort gewesen wurden Herzlich empfangen und haben sehr gut gegessen!

Super leckeres Essen mit einer mega Location! Wir konnten noch im sommerlichen Herbst draußen sitzen und der gesamte Platz ist seitens der Stadt neu gemacht worden. Eltern schätzen die Wasserspiele, denn die Kinder sind beschäftigt und man kann den Wein genießen!! Dazu super freundliche Leute, dass es von vorne bis hinten ein absoluter Hochgenuss war! Wir waren mehrfach da und kommen bald wieder.

Auch wenn der teig (oder die Sosse) sehr salzlastig waren, so hat es doch geschmeckt. Würde ich nochmal hingehen. Nettes Persona!

Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist ok, draußen gemütlich und einladend, meiner Meinung nach die beste Location zum Sitzen in Erkelenz. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt hatte ich einen angenehmen Besuch und werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Das Essen und der Service waren an einem Freitag Abend wirklich top. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen, schneller Service und sehr leckeres Essen. Wenn man draußen sitzt, hat man leider direkt angrenzend die Baustelle, das hat allerdings nur wenig gestört.
