Pizzeria Mimmo u Santo in Köln

Forever the best place for gluten-free food in Cologne! I've been going there since I was a child and was very sad when I heard about the closure. Of course, we traditionally went there every year after the Nippes Carnival parade, and we always enjoyed our family meal there! Thank you for the many years of wonderful and competent service and warmth! We will miss you!

A completely different kind of Italian, with a Cologne touch. Relaxed atmosphere, with a beer garden feel. Good menu with good value for money. We'd be happy to come back. The noise level isn't for everyone. Gluten-free pasta and pizza are simply excellent.

The gluten-free pizza and gluten-free tiramisu were truly delicious. You couldn't taste any difference from the "regular" products. We'll be back again and again. Addendum: The restaurant will be closing soon. I'm right 😢

I'm always happy to go back! Mimmo & Santo is probably the restaurant I've visited most often. The ingredients are fresh. The spinach on the pizza is green, and the large leaves are clearly identifiable as such. Everything else is also delicious and stands out clearly from the chain restaurants around the corner. Who goes to an osteria??? Incomprehensible!!!! The seating downstairs is much better than upstairs. The noise level there is very high, especially because groups are seated at the long table in the middle of the room. A true family business, where the friendly and attentive staff have been loyal for years. Very pleasant!

My wife and I stopped by Mimmo & Santo in Nippes after a lovely motorcycle tour. We sat outside and felt like we were transported straight to bella Italia! Super friendly service and very good and delicious food! We'll definitely be back! Thank you all!

Super delicious food, a large selection of gluten-free dishes, and both pizza and pasta are homemade. The service is very attentive and friendly. If you want to try gluten-free pizza or pasta, this is the place for you!

I really don't understand why this train station concourse is so hyped! It feels like 100 degrees Celsius upstairs, and downstairs it's totally uncomfortable and hectic, with guests constantly coming in. The service is cold, unmotivated, and at times unfriendly! When a beer was accidentally spilled on us on our second-to-last visit and wasn't replaced, we didn't really want to have it again, which in retrospect would have been the wiser decision. The dishes look very cheap and presented without much care. The tomato soup was nothing special, the bruschetta had rock-hard bread with a few tasteless tomato pieces, the lasagna looked like it had been reheated five times three days ago (not fresh), and the pizza diavolo had absolutely disgustingly fatty salami. I had stomach problems for two weeks after the visit... This was definitely our last visit to this pizzeria.

This was our second visit to Mimmo u Santo. Once again, we felt completely at home. We were served very attentively in a cozy atmosphere. The food was once again really good. A special highlight of Mimmo u Santo is the combination of gluten-free and gluten-containing dishes. The team masters this balancing act really well. Our affected children were able to enjoy the food – without a hint of problem! And all at fair, reasonable prices!

Excellent Italian restaurant with gluten-free pasta and pizza. Many delicious gluten-free desserts are also available. Good value for money. Unfortunately, the restaurant is scheduled to close on July 27, 2025, unless a replacement is found. :-(

Nothing special for me. To be honest, I was disappointed 😞. Food Everything was routinely prepared. Like a cafeteria. The spices were lost. Gone. It was plentiful, but the flavor wasn't very convincing. [Perhaps the chef had a cold?] We'll try again. Very loud.

There's a special gluten-free menu, but they also prepare all other dishes gluten-free. You can simply choose pizza or pasta from the regular menu and order it gluten-free. Everything is homemade, including the gluten-free products! All types of pasta are available, from tagliatelle to ravioli. That's something you rarely experience as a celiac. You don't have to pay an extra charge. There's also a wide selection for dessert: panna cotta, chocolate cake, and even tiramisu in gluten-free versions. For dessert, there was ice cream in a gluten-free waffle cone, which was even crispy! For this, you had to pay an extra €1 and pay in cash.

We arrived around 3 p.m. in the afternoon, received a warm welcome, and were seated immediately. We were very surprised by the wide selection of gluten-free dishes: from appetizers to pizza, pasta, and desserts, everything was available gluten-free. We had a gluten-free pizza, a regular pizza, and handmade pasta, as well as a starter and dessert. Both the gluten-free and regular pizzas were delicious. The handmade pasta was also very good. We were very satisfied and would gladly return! They also serve gluten-free ice cream cones!

The food had no taste. It was cold inside.

I expected more from an authentic Italian pizza. I had a spinach pizza. There was barely any cheese, just a few spinach leaves. The pizza tasted of nothing. It was expensive, though. There was no atmosphere. The shelves behind the counter were all jumbled together. Everything was lacking in love. I'll never go there again. My kebab shop makes better pizza. The waitress was nice.

My absolute favorite pizzeria in Cologne. Not only do they have incredibly delicious gluten-free pizzas, but they also serve gluten-free ravioli, spaghetti, and tiramisu. And everything's homemade!

We've been going to this Italian restaurant since I was little, and we've never been disappointed! The food is delicious and the ice cream is high quality. The service is also top-notch!

The best gluten-free pizza! The gluten-free selection of starters, main courses, and desserts is exemplary... and everything is always available. The prices are absolutely reasonable! We love eating there. My daughter has celiac disease and my wife is also sensitive to gluten—neither of them has ever had any problems. We're grateful that Mimmo & Santo exists and are happy to make the trip from Solingen! We're already looking forward to our next visit—we made a reservation today.

Didn't get any food and left hungry again because of the unfriendliness of the service! We were there in the afternoon (around 3 p.m.) and asked for a table. First of all, we were ignored for a long time. It wasn't busy and there were only a maximum of 5 tables occupied inside and outside. But there were several waiters standing around inside. The waiter behind the counter then said that we should sit at the table in pairs. We weren't taken there but were gestured there. When we wanted to sit down, another waitress came and said there was a reservation there and we should sit down a few tables away. So let's go there. Then the waitress: no stop, there is also a reservation. And the same thing again. We then noticed that the tables were only reserved from 6 p.m., but we were still not allowed to sit down. We just wanted a pizza and we definitely didn't need to eat from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. So we stood helplessly in the room, not knowing where we could sit, even though we were told at the beginning that the restaurant still had free seats for 2 people! The waiters were all standing around, but no one made any effort to help or offer a seat. Then we had enough and left. So rude and not customer friendly!!

Very tasty pizza and a very large selection of gluten-free dishes

Really good restaurant! We went there for the gluten free options. The pizza was really good and the pasta (tagliatelle) was also very tasty. I recommend the ice cream for dessert. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommended.

You can eat really well here, and if you're gluten-free, there's a really wide selection. They even have a gluten-free Galicia Estrella. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside is the noise when it's full.

2x baked lasagne to pick up. Arrived on time and the lasagna was completely cold inside. Only lukewarm on the sides. Lots of sauce, little lasagna, almost not baked at all. No sorry, nothing at all to my complaint. Never again!

Very good Italian restaurant, and on top gluten-free!

I had a calzone, unfortunately it had no taste, that was much better. We ordered appetizers and pizzas. Unfortunately it took 1/4 hour until we got the pizzas after finishing the starter. The pizza makers brought forward the take-out orders and forgot about us. They were totally overloaded.

We have been here 3 times now. Pizza is good, but the pasta dishes and antipasti weren't that great, even though the pasta was probably homemade (!?) But no matter, the atmosphere is great, everything is a little old and you feel like you've been teleported to Italy in the 80s. We like this so much that we would like to come back (and then we will only eat pizza).

Authentic Italian cuisine. Santo is already an institution in Nippes, as his restaurant has existed for more than a quarter of a century. The pizza was and is always crispy and delicious. Various oils for seasoning (spicy, garlic) are available on request. There are many seasonal variations on the daily menu.

Great restaurant! The food was very tasty and the service was also very friendly! If you need to eat gluten-free, this is the right place for you. Everything is available gluten-free and, above all, great attention is paid to contamination. We will come back and can only recommend it! :)

A great restaurant where you can simply feel good. And that too as a person with celiac disease! ❤️ It's such a nice feeling that the menu tells you that the need for hygiene measures is taken into account - but that it doesn't make any difference in price and tastes good, that's just a nice feeling. In addition, the staff is very friendly and the service is incredibly fast! Even though I came here mainly because of my celiac disease and the selection of local restaurants is very limited for me, this would be a restaurant that I would visit again and again even without celiac disease ❤️

Weird location, half ice cream parlor, half restaurant and pizzeria. High ceilings, not really comfortable but somehow. Well, okay. The food was TOP! Simple and good. Classic carbonara and a very good zabaione. Everything as it should be. The Monte fits the price. Good. The service very good. Friendly, attentive and interested. All! This is the best Italian ristorante with a gluten-free menu that I have come across so far. The gluten-free dishes are not limited to the usual pizza and store-bought pasta. There are also homemade gluten-free cannelloni, bruscetta, tiramisu and more. The service is top and the atmosphere is typically lively Italian. The only thing that is difficult in Nippes is finding a parking space. But the fantastic food is always worth the effort.

The service was horrible. Rude, unfriendly extremely slow even though it wasn't super full. The food was ok but nothing special and for sure not worth the money we payed. But what ruely ruined the whole experience was the very bad and unfriendly service.

Nice pizzeria with very tasty food and super nice staff! There's a whole page with gluten-free dishes, even gluten-free beer! We were hungry after a concert and no restaurant was still open at 10:15 p.m.! We still got food here and even our special requests were fulfilled at this time! The staff were all very nice, greeted everyone and were always smiling! Really great! We will come here more often!

Pizza Diavolo was tasty, could have had a little more fire, just like the bruchetta with tomato garlic, was also a little too mild. Dad tiramisu was a dream, super tasty 🤤 Most of the items on the menu are also available gluten-free, which is also a dream for our daughter, who suffers from celiac disease 🙏 We'll definitely come back more often from now on, keep it up

Vinimos a cenar aquí después de ver buenas críticas. El personal fue excepcional desde el principio. Nos trajeron menús en inglés de inmediato e incluso arrastraron el tablero especial para que pudiéramos verlo claramente. Pedimos una pizza Margherita y una calle. Pizza de ágata (jamón de Parma, rúcula y parmesano). Ambos somos deliciosos y toda la comida era muy razonable. Vale la pena parar.

We were here for dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but since we were there around 6 p.m., we managed to get a spot. It might have been better to reserve a table a little later. I had pizza D.O.P for you and it only had mozzarella on top. That surprised me a bit and I was missing something in terms of taste. In my opinion, the pizza was tasty, but could have used a little more flavor. We also ordered the anchovy pizza. There wasn't even an anchovy on each slice of pizza, which was a bit rare. But the taste was delicious. We found the atmosphere okay, but the decor seemed a bit outdated. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, we've had better pizzas before, but we would go again.

Have been to Mimo a few times now. Very nice service, very tasty pizza and a wide range of gluten-free food. And the blast - at very, very fair prices! It's definitely not the last time we've been there :-)

We've been coming for years. Pizza. Salad and pasta were always excellent (we haven't eaten anything else there). Last time we had a friend with gluten intolerance with us. There is also a whole page on the menu with gluten-free dishes, including pizza, of course. The service is friendly and the waiting times are short. The space is high and airy, but not cold.

I've been going there for almost 30 years and have always noticed that after the renovation it has unfortunately lost some of its charm and coziness.

Actually an Italian restaurant that we always enjoyed going to. Unfortunately we waited almost an hour for our food today. When it came it was cold. After the comment, the pizza was taken away again. A minute later she came back slightly warmer but completely dry. A piece was missing. The worst part is that no one cared. No question as it was, no apology...

We visited today with 10 guests. A starter platter for everyone was supposed to cost €20 and was just ridiculously small. Not even olives or cheese on it. The main course was not delivered to one of our guests after 20 minutes, even though the others had almost finished eating and we asked several times. The spatial design is almost reminiscent of an untidy workshop and it is simply too dark because there are not enough lamps. The quality of the food did not convince us for the most part. Sometimes there wasn't enough sauce in the pasta, or the noodles were mushy/sticky. Things were found in a carbonara (woody stems) that didn't belong there. Parmesan cheese and olive oil were only available upon request and far too little for so many guests, even though they were part of the dishes. That was definitely our last visit. I only know better Italian restaurants in Cologne!

Best gluten free pizza ever eaten. A colleague had a “normal” pizza and thought it was great too. You can also have vegan mozzarella if you are intolerance to lotose. There is also gluten-free beer and desserts. It was very crowded, so you had to make yourself known if you wanted anything else. But it didn't bother me, service was very nice. I will come back.

Super nice service. Very Italian. You have to like the style of the large room downstairs, it will be too bright and loud for some. But that's just part of life. Quiet at the back if you want to be comfortable. Good pizza, nice daily menu. The employees are all super nice and do a great job. Currently and therefore only 2 stars: smoking is allowed in the outdoor area at the front and some guests do so completely recklessly. Even when children are running around and sitting at tables. For me that's not okay. Sure, you can also eat inside, but I don't think it's up to date anymore. It would be nice if smoking wasn't allowed at dining tables. This helps children, pregnant women and certainly ensures greater satisfaction for the majority.

Best gluten-free pizza I've eaten in Cologne so far. I like coming here. One of my favorite restaurants. It's great what there is here. I just find the ambience too loud. The upper floor is not very comfortable. This could be redesigned a bit.

I ended up there spontaneously and by chance on Saturday afternoon. The pizza was delicious and on the table extremely quickly. Service is friendly and on the ball. The ambience is typical, not uncomfortable and not luxurious. I can only recommend a stay.

Fast and friendly service. Both the starter and the pizza were very tasty. But most importantly, I didn't wait long. The only drawback is that the shop could look nicer inside.
