A really great pizzeria ❤ we are always very satisfied. The pizza is super tasty, the people are very friendly and the view is magnificent 🥰 we would love to come back. Keep it up. Greetings from near Magdeburg 😉😊

This was the best pizza I've ever waited for over an hour without notice 😅 and the drinks were there after 50 minutes... It wasn't full. I have no idea what was going on. We had to explicitly ask for an invoice, otherwise we would only have received a handwritten note for our cash (“We have problems with card payments” - I suspect permanent ones). Conclusion: It's better to take your own food with you on the hike and save yourself the hassle.

I was there twice. The first time I wanted to buy a bottle of water to take with me. I was told that I would have to sit there for this. I was offered a small cup and it said 5 euros. The second time I wanted to use the toilet, 50 cents if I didn't eat it. I then bought an ice cream and still had to pay the toilet fee. In addition, the service was super unfriendly both times.

Enjoyed delicious wine and pizza with a fantastic view. Fast and very friendly service. Delicious food. My recommendation: vegetarian pizza. We'll definitely be back.

This pizzeria is located on a mountainside overlooking the Bergstadt Lautenthal. The atmosphere is fantastic and service is perfect. Spaghetti with crab and salmon tasted really good 🌞🤗.

We were absolutely satisfied with the food and the friendly service. The location at the top of the mountain is unique and absolutely fantastic. You can easily walk there from Lautenthal, we went there by car, which was a bit adventurous because Google Maps constantly wants to send you through closed forest paths and doesn't know the official route. If you want to get there by car, please be sure to follow the pizzeria's signs and do not rely on Google Maps. Coming from Lautenthal, turn right on Hahnenkleer Str at Maaßener Geipel, after about 50m you will see a closure sign, please ignore it and continue driving, this is the official route to the pizzeria.

Had a table straight away without a reservation, very quiet and easy to get to. The pizza was very tasty. The view of the valley is simply wonderful. For families there is also a small playground at the edge of the restaurant. All in all, highly recommended.

Such nice staff are always there to help you. I would love to come back there again.

What an amazing find, a good pizza place up a mountain with incredible views. The owner (Massimo) was friendly, polite and spoke English (which is rare in this area). After a challenging ride, we were really pleased to enjoy some food & drink to help us on our journey, thanks very much

Something was wrong with the noodles. The dish was unsurpassed in terms of simplicity. I ordered spaghetti carbonara. There was an unpleasant smell coming from the food, which unfortunately I couldn't locate. Maybe it was just the plate that smelled. When I smelled the food directly, it smelled normal. The ham was gray around the edges and the sauce was thin and seemed to have been made from milk. It doesn't work at all. I can't recommend it!

We had a nice meal outside during our hike. The prices seem to me to be a little higher than average. Friendly service and the currywurst with fries were good.

Great location with a beautiful view, very tasty food and really nice hospitality! For guests who are not so fit, there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant. We like hiking and have taken different routes to Maaßener Gaipel. We would definitely love to come back!

After a somewhat strenuous hike from Lautenthal up to Maaßener Gaipel, we arrived at the nice restaurant. The decor in the restaurant itself seems very rustic. My son and I decided to eat outside, the view is really beautiful. We received a very friendly welcome relatively quickly and didn't have to wait long for our food. The Harzer Wandernadel stamp box is easy to reach and is well placed on the outside of the restaurant. When I asked whether there was an easier way back than the one we took on the way up, I was immediately told how long it would take. Great view of the valley, great service.

Worth a trip just because of the view! Pizza was ok, but service took a long time. When we visited some time later, unfortunately you couldn't eat à la carte at all, there was only grilled food and cake (self-service only), which was a bit of a shame for people who don't like grilled food.

We were there today with the family for my mom's birthday dinner. Unfortunately we had to sit inside in the rain. The view from Gaipel over Lautenthal is very beautiful. The food, whether pizza bread, schnitzel, gyros, currywurst fries or pizza, we all enjoyed it very much. For dessert there was tiramisu, very tasty and highly recommended. Unfortunately I can't say anything here because we didn't get there. According to Google Maps we should drive along a forest path (officially not allowed) and the same game from the other side.

According to notices and maps, the restaurant would be open on Sundays. Were there during opening hours - closed. But no notice or anything. Nothing.

The Pizzeria Maaßener Gaipel not only offers an extensive food and drink menu, but also friendly service and a wonderful view! I really liked that the pizzeria was easy to reach by car, so you could stop by again in the evening.

Friendly owners, typical pizzeria offerings in a German forest restaurant atmosphere. Already a bit dusty. Definitely worth a stop after a long hike, but not for a nice lunch. Too remote for that.

Hervorragender Service, auf individuelle Wünsche wurde eingegangen, das Essen war super lecker. Wetterbedingt mussten wir drinnen sitzen, dort war es sehr gemütlich. Vielen Dank, wir werden beim nächsten Ausflug in den Harz unbedingt wieder kommen!

Food was delicious, service was great. The ambience somehow couldn't decide between Italian and home-style. Getting there is an experience, the access is well camouflaged and cannot be seen at first glance. But you will then be rewarded with a great view of Lauthental

Freundlich-verbindliche Atmosphäre und gute Bedienung in harzlichem Ambiente mit guter mediterraner Küche - gern immer wieder!

Wir waren mit unseren Kindern dort das zweite mal schon Essen und es war Super lecker. Der Service war 1a. Wir sowie unsere Kinder waren rundum zufrieden und werden bei so einer Gastfreundlichkeit immer wieder gerne kommen.

Schön das es sich innen nicht verändert hat,ist so schön Urig und gemütlich. Sehr freundlich wird man behandelt und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut.

Mooi uitzicht vanaf het terras. Eten prima maar in de Calzone veel kaas. Er waren geen andere gasten meer ruim voor 20:00 en we wilden nog wat bestellen, maar de serveerster was druk met opruimen en zag ons niet? of negeerde ons. Ze verdween naar binnen en we zagen haar niet meer. Na ca. 15 min. maar zelf binnen gaan kijken. De serveerster kwam uit de keuken en vertelde dat ze aan het schoonmaken waren. Dit had duidelijk hogere prioriteit dan de gasten. Na mijn verbazing en opmerking dat wij nog buiten zaten kwam ze de bestelling opnemen. De serveerster vertrok kort na acht uur. Blijkbaar zijn ze volgens hun bord tot 21:00 uur open, maar eigenlijk houdt het voor 20:00 uur al op.

Sehr netter Service, prima Pizza, tolle Aussicht. Der Bergbau Lehrpfad vor der Tür bietet hübsche Pfade durch den Wald. Es gibt auch Bringdienst.

Das Ambiente und der Wanderweg zum Ristorante waren fein. Viele Infos entlang des Weges und eine Stempelstation an der Location. Parkplätze sind ausreichend und kostenfrei vorhanden. Der Spielplatz war heute leider nass, aber sah einladend aus. Auch die georderten Pizzen sahen gut aus, aber leider war der dünne Teig viel zu hart und die Calzonen bestanden zu 75% aus Käse, 15% Champions und maximal zwei Scheiben Schinken und Salami. Wir waren nicht wirklich begeistert und würden es auch nicht weiterempfehlen. Schade.

Eenvoudige maar lekkere pizza's. Personeel is erg vriendelijk. Het zit in een oud gebouw dat lang geleden in gebruik was voor de mijnbouw, erg gaaf. Buiten kun je heerlijk zitten onder parasols inclusief geweldig uitzicht. Aanrader.

Habe heute eine Wandertour im Harz unternommen,zum Schluss war ich noch beim Maaßener Gaipel.Die Aussicht und die Lage ist super Habe ein Alkoholfreies Weizen getrunken 4,80€ war nicht gerade günstig.Eine Pizza dabei,der Teig war gut aber alles andere hätte besser sein kõnnen.Allesin allen etwas enttäuschend.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit einem unverwechselbaren und unbeschreiblich schönen Ausblick in eine weite Berglandschaft. Das Ambiente und der Scharm des Gaipel spiegeln sich hier wieder und zusätzlich gibt es einen Spielplatz mit Klettermöglichkeiten, Schaukel, Holzbahn. Der Familienbetrieb ist sehr Gastfreundlich und bietet unterschiedliche Regionale aber auch weltweit bekannte Gerichte an. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut und die Portionen sind sättigend. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. Mfg

Super schön gelegen, Bergbaulehrpfad sehr interessant und anschaulich durch viele erhaltene Ausstellungsstücke. Und zum Abschluss direkt im Wald Pizza essen. Top.

Das Essen hier entspricht auch nach mehreren Besuchen guter Mittelklasse. Angesichts der herrlichen Aussicht und sehr angenehmer Bedienung, holt diese Baude aber andere Gaststätten in der Umgebung deutlich ein.

Wir sind hier eingekehrt bei einem Wanderausflug und waren recht enttäuscht. Die Gaststätte macht von außen einen baufälligen Eindruck. Die Bedienung konnte uns Fragen zur Speisekarte nicht beantworten. Die Speisekarte zeigt heftige Preise. Unsere Tochter hat dann eine Pommes genommen für 3 Euro . Dieser Preis schien noch normal. Die Portion war aber leider winzig.

Die Pizza war erste Klasse! Die Nudeln na ja, da muss noch ein bisschen geübt werden. Der unglaubliche Blick ins Tal entschädigt für die schwachen Nudeln. DIe beiden Herren in der Bedienung sind unglaublich nett! Das war das zum Wohlfühlen. Wir kommen wieder

Ein sehr nettes italienisches Restaurant mit einer unglaublich schönen Lage. Sehr netter Service, gutes Essen und angemessene Preise.

Ein gemütliches altes Cafe, wunderbar draußen sitzen, die Natur und die Aussicht geniessen. Die Einfahrt zum Cafe ist etwas versteckt und der Weg hinauf ist voller Schotter, für Zweiräder eine herausforderung.

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend dort: Abendessen mit der Familie, leckerer Pizza, Salat und Getränken. Der gute Service der Betreiber lässt keine Wünsche offen!!
