Pizzeria La Locanda in Dormagen

Yesterday was my first time there. The menu didn't sound particularly exciting at first, but all the dishes were absolutely delicious! Both the pasta dishes (including the baked ones) and the pizzas were top-notch in terms of flavor. The service was quick and incredibly friendly without being intrusive. The only slight drawback was the ambiance; the lighting could be a bit less intense. Otherwise, I highly recommend it, and the prices are excellent!

We've been regulars here for years – the pizza and all the other dishes are simply sensational and unique in the surrounding area. The staff is always friendly and attentive – highly recommended!

I've been ordering from here since I was a kid, but today the food I got was, well, let's just say the pizza was swimming in oil. They threw it away; it was inedible. This wouldn't have happened under the previous owners. What a shame.

It's rather outrageous to pay €16.70 for a pizza with spinach and salmon that isn't even on the menu on pizza day. We've known La Locanda since 1993, but I don't think we'll miss the generally good service and the good food.

A real hidden gem in Nievenheim! 🍝 This small Italian restaurant, located directly on the main street opposite the cemetery, impresses with its pleasantly cozy atmosphere and a young, extremely friendly, and motivated service team. You feel welcome and well taken care of from the moment you arrive. The food is simply delicious – freshly prepared, authentic, and with great attention to detail. The fair prices are particularly noteworthy, perfectly complementing the overall dining experience. Anyone in the area who's craving Italian cuisine should definitely stop by. Highly recommended! 👌🇮🇹

Very disappointing. The "large" pizzas were much too small and of poor quality. The pepperoni pizza had only seeds instead of actual pepperoni, the shrimp on another pizza were almost raw, and the salami pizza appeared to have been added after baking. The Margherita with extra cheese was lightly topped, and the imitation cheese was barely melted. The casserole was completely tasteless and unsalted. Only the bruschetta was edible. However, for the price, it was absolutely unacceptable – never again!

Whether pizza or pasta, it tastes great. The meat and fish dishes are also recommended. And with the always friendly and attentive service, you'll look forward to returning. A tip: the tomato soup. I can also recommend both versions of the saltimbocca.

The food is very good. On our last visit, the service was quite over-enthusiastic and asked for our orders every minute.

Very tasty carbonara. The salad was also good. Service was attentive, and you can sit outside in the courtyard. Although the courtyard could use some renovation.

As an Italian I can say that I ate beautiful and delicious spaghetti alla carbonara plated in a parmesan crust. The restaurant is well-kept. The style is very Italian. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

We had dinner at this Italian restaurant today during our two-day stay. As a long-time hobby pizza maker, I naturally always try pizza at an Italian restaurant. What can I say? I haven't eaten such good and authentic pizza out of town in a very, very long time. Absolutely fantastic. My companion was also thrilled with her pizza, but I also want to give special praise to the rosé wine. It was a wonderful evening with excellent food and drink.

The name "La Locanda" sounds Italian, but unfortunately only one waiter was of Italian origin. The music in the background was very old Italian songs. The items on the menu sound Italian, but our experiences were mixed. We ordered maccaroni arrabiata (original penne al'arrabiata). This is unusual, but not bad. However, the pasta was severely overcooked. On the plus side, it was spicy, but otherwise it was unseasoned and bland. We had to order the obligatory cheese separately. My steak with vegetables was also unconvincing. The steak was English fried the first time and too well done the second time. I wasn't asked how I would like my steak. The vegetables consisted of some small, overcooked, bland tasting broccoli florets, carrots and a quartered potato. Everything was unseasoned. Salt, pepper and olive oil were not served. The waitress was polite but awkward and unmotivated. We didn't feel welcome. The Italian atmosphere and friendliness we expected was completely missing. It's a shame that the restaurant couldn't live up to these expectations. The Italian soul was completely missing 😓

Went here to eat again after a long time and was unfortunately a bit disappointed. The welcome was friendly as always. The service friendly and quick. The ambience is too “cold” for me and it is very loud. But of course everyone feels differently. We ate pizza and pasta. The pasta was great. Tasty and a big enough portion. I definitely remembered the pizza better. Apart from the fact that I prefer thin, crispy bases, it tasted like "nothing". I thought it was a shame that criticism wasn't addressed, even though half of the pizza was returned. Even at the neighboring tables, the criticism expressed about the pizza was not addressed. It's a shame, we were used to something different.

We have been coming for dinner regularly for years and are always very satisfied. The food is varied and great, the service is always friendly and attentive and the prices are absolutely fair.

Spontaneous visit at lunchtime. Very friendly service. Food and drinks come quickly. Food tastes good and what isn't eaten is often packaged up to take away. Toilets and interior design are no longer up to date. Parking is usually available across the street, although there is a lot of traffic due to cars parked on the street (dangerous to cross). The price is right.

We sat here for starters and main courses. All 4 dishes were very tasty 😋 and beautifully prepared. The service is very friendly and checks for empty glasses etc. There is parking diagonally opposite in front of the cemetery. The restaurant is usually busy and you should reserve a table on weekends.

Went there again today, it's always been a great place to go for years. The owner family always puts in a lot of effort and the food tastes really delicious. Many thanks to the whole team, including the kitchen and everyone who keeps the shop running. Kind regards Marco and Uschi Schwerdt

Always happy for almost 30 years

The staff was very nice. Great energy, love and passion for their jobs! We took spaghetti and a lava cake as dessert and it was both delicious and affordable, the restaurant looked great as well. Been here twice with one year in between and both times the restaurant performed well above expectations. Card and cash is accepted (apart from american express but thats fine) The staff's english level is good.

You feel like you're on vacation in Italy. Hospitable to no end. The food was good, but the toppings on the pizza were quite poor and unloving and poorly distributed. Unfortunately the service was quite bad. A new fork takes 2 waiters and 3 attempts, which is a shame.

Original Italian cuisine, very tasty and inexpensive

We ate here today based on a recommendation because this restaurant offers gluten-free pasta. Our son was thrilled and our noodles were great at a great price/performance ratio...everyone was very nice and friendly and loved children!

Food of good quality and well prepared. Unfortunately it's not 100 percent my taste. Ambience ok, tables too small. Service very friendly and absolutely accommodating. We spent an entertaining three hours there for lunch. My recommendation: Definitely give it a try, La Locanda is worth a try.

Very nice and friendly service. Unfortunately, it's not particularly comfortable to sit there. Everything was very cramped and the lighting was way too bright (for my taste). Pasta and pizza delicious and good 👍. However, I was surprised and annoyed by the mixed salad for €5.50. Sorry, a slice of egg? Two cucumber and tomato slices and 3 lettuce leaves? We found that really borderline for the price. I would never order there again.

For me the best pizzeria! There are no better pasta dishes in Dormagen! We always like the fresh dishes very much. My vegetarian pasta never skimps on vegetables. Also an important factor, the price is right. Just great!

Ein nettes kleines Lokal, das Essen ist sehr gut und die Portionen reichlich. Besonders lobend hervorzuheben ist der herausragende Service, wirklich großartig! Der Pizzateig ist laut Aussage vegan und die Pizza ohne Käse zu bekommen war kein Problem! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Tolle Speisen, sehr sehr netter und guter Service.

Wir gehen seit bald 10 Jahren regelmäßig bei La Locanda Essen und bestellen hier auch Catering für unsere Familienfeste. Die Speisen kommen immer sehr gut bei unseren Gästen an und sind frisch zubereitetet und lecker. Besonders toll finden wir im Restaurant die wechselnde Spezialitätenkarte und die Vorspeisen. Auch das Ambiente ist im Sommer unter den Weinblättern im Biergarten sehr schön. Im Innenraum wurde vor Kurzem viel modernisiert. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der freundliche Service. Wir kommen hier immer sehr gerne hin!

Das La Locanda ist eine sehr gute Pizzeria und mehr! Die Dorade war sehr gut zubereitet, serviert und lecker. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam!

Insgesamt sehr durchschnittliche Pizzeria. Der Service war gut und das Essen kam schnell. Ich habe aber den Fehler gemacht Pasta zu bestellen. Die war nicht gut. Insgesamt nur lauwarm, die Soße hatte Fertigsoßen Charakter und war einfach viel zu fettig/sahnig und hatte kaum Geschmack. Könnte sein, dass die Pizzen besser sind, das kann ich nicht sagen.

Die Flut an 1 Sterne Bewertungen habt ihr bestimmt nicht verdient… Waren wohl irgendwelche Spinner 😂

Mein lieblings Italiener seit vielen Jahren. Hier gibt es immer eine gute Pizza und gute Nudeln. Auch die Vorspeisen und alle anderen Gerichte sind vorzüglich und das zu moderaten Preisen. :)

Das Essen ist soooo gut.Wir lieben die Vorspeiseplatte.Der Service ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Preis -Leistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend .Wir können diese Location nur wärmstens empfehlen .

Jedes kleiner Örtchen sollte einen eigenen Italiener haben. Wir würden wir nicht nur herzlich begrüßt, sondern bekamen auch leckeres Essen und gut gekühlte Getränke. Es gibt einen Innenbereich und einen Aussenbereich, wo das Rauchen noch erlaubt ist. Wir waren zufrieden und haben auch nicht zu viel zahlen müssen. Bei der nächsten Möglichkeit werden wir hier definitiv einen Stop einlgen.

Von Freundlichkeit, gutem Essen und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis haben die Inhaber noch nichts gehört. Großes Fiasko für jeden Kunden, der hier noch bestellt! Es gibt halt Italiener - die können einfach gute italienische Küche! Und dann gibt es so Kabuffs wie diese hier - haben wahrscheinlich paar Videos auf YouTube geschaut und sind Originale Nichtskönner geworden!

Essen war ganz ok aber wurden mit den Preisen total über den Tisch gezogen nach dem wir die Bedienung und den Besitzer darauf angesprochen haben (ganz normal in einem höflichen Ton) wurden wir verbal angegangen und zum Schluss noch beleidigt…

Leider ist ein Stern noch gut bemessen. Unfreundliches Personal und die Kosten der Pizzen sehr sehr hoch bemessen. Ich rate keinem dahin zu gehen da es auch geschmacklich nicht punkten kann leider…..

Bin extra aus Duisburg gekommen um diese Pizza zu essen, bin nach einen Biss direkt wieder zurück nach Duisburg gefahren. Sehr enttäuschend

Das Essen kam kalt an und als ich drum gebeten hatte es warm zu bringen haben sie dies nicht getan und waren unfreundlich am Abend kamen auch dann die Magenbeschwerden keine Empfehlung dort auf jeden Fall
