A lovely converted train station building, now used as a restaurant. The food, we had mixed grill, was delicious. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The noise level was a bit too high for my liking. Sound-absorbing ceiling panels could help with this. We found the lighting, from the spotlights in the ceiling, a little too bright. Indirect lighting would be much more pleasant. All in all, though, highly recommended for a delicious meal. 😋 The

Basically, it's our regular haunt. We like going there because the food is good, the staff is very friendly, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. I especially have to commend the two servers, Luisa and Ennes (?). They're so warm and efficient. It's just great that they're there.

We were there for an anniversary celebration, and the food was just okay. It was better at our last anniversary, so maybe that's why. The atmosphere could be a bit nicer. Otherwise, it's a decent place to go.

The restaurant is always worth a visit; great food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. The filet steak was fantastic, and everything else we ate there was superb as well. We've already planned our next visit.

Overall, it was okay. The food, the service, and the location were all good. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food.

The food is really very good, and the meat is all very juicy. It's very impressive what the team manages to achieve in such a small kitchen. Unfortunately, the restrooms are in the basement and somewhat difficult to access for people with disabilities; it is an old building, after all.

I go to the "Alten Bahnhof Nievenheim" in Dormagen-Nievenheim, on the border with Delrath, several times a year. Here, the steak 🥩 is always cooked to perfection, with a fine grain inside, a dark pattern on the outside, and a subtle grilled aroma. They're simply amazing. Add a salad or a baked potato, and you'll love it. They also have good international cuisine at fair prices, and they even have an outdoor terrace for warmer days. I'm always very satisfied!!!!!

A small, unassuming restaurant with great service and delicious food. Huge praise to the chef for achieving such a high level of excellence in such a small kitchen – he has the utmost respect! There were five of us, and every meal was excellent. The service was charming, polite, and absolutely on point. We haven't experienced such good service in a long time. Since the restaurant is really small, there aren't many seats. Advance reservations are recommended. If you arrive spontaneously, you'll usually be told: unfortunately, it's full!

I highly recommend the Alter Bahnhof (Old Train Station) in Nievenheim as a restaurant. A great menu with a wide selection. Friendly staff, fast service, and very friendly. It's also suitable for large groups and various celebrations. The price is right. The quantity served is reasonable. We ordered a grill platter for two people. It cost €40.00 and was well worth the price. They also offer to pack the leftovers. Sitting outside and eating there is also possible. Reservations are recommended.

A nice restaurant with a lovely beer garden. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, and the service leaves nothing to be desired. The cream of porcini mushroom soup is a must!

I often eat here with my parents and my son, and we're always more than satisfied. They're currently serving fresh asparagus, which I highly recommend. We like sitting outside with the family, and it's very nice. There's no train noise! ​​The service and the other guests are very friendly! There's not much in Nievenheim that I can recommend since Peter Schönewald, among others, is no longer there...

We were there for dinner with 9 people in the evening. Everyone was thrilled with our waitress, a quick and funny server who, despite the busyness of the restaurant, also had time for a bit of fun. The food was plentiful and super tasty. We are already looking forward to the next appointment.

We 3 adults were there for dinner for the first time today. First the negative: The pictures on the homepage of the restaurant sometimes reflect a slightly different atmosphere. I would have expected something more elegant visually. But after the first little disappointment we were nicely shown to our table. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. First there was a greeting from the kitchen, which included very tasty herb butter and delicious bread. Starters were very tasty fresh champions with onions and garlic. Main courses were 1x schnitzel with fried potatoes, 1x veal liver + fried potatoes and 1x rump steak with BK. All main courses were top top top. Dishes came to the table hot. We had 6 drinks, 4 dishes and 2 schnapps. And together just over €90. In my opinion this is a bit too cheap. I will come back from beautiful Bawü. We can only recommend this restaurant ❤️❤️❤️ Great team

We celebrated our Christmas party here. I had a venison steak with cranberry sauce, red cabbage and croquettes and a pear wedge as a garnish. The food was very good, the meat was excellent and the sauce was delicious. The service was super friendly and accommodating. I just think the room itself is too small for the amount of tables. A clear recommendation!

Friendly staff Food generally delicious. But unfortunately nothing special. Schnitzel doesn't work at all. Dry and the breading falls off the meat. A little chaotic and overwhelmed at times. A meal is often forgotten, especially when several people are sitting at the table. Next time I will cancel the meal. The statement from a service worker: this can happen sometimes, but it doesn't work at all. No apology, nothing came. This wasn't the first time that food was forgotten at my table in my presence. When it's full you wait forever for your food. At least 1 hour waiting time is normal Price-performance I don't think it's okay. This is my personal opinion.

We can recommend the rump steak, the schnitzel is not good at all, you can get a better piece of breaded cardboard in any snack bar.

Nach langer Zeit mal wieder zum Essen eingekehrt und nicht enttäuscht worden. Sehr ausgewogene Speisekarte. Gute Qualität,angemessene Preise gepaart mit freundlichen Service in angenehmer Atmosphäre, das passt.

Das essen war sehr lecker. Preis Leistung passen absolut und auf sowas achte ich sehr. Ambiente ist super schön und gemütlich meiner Meinung nach. Wir hatten ein Weihnachtsessen, das einzige was zu bemängeln ist war die lange Wartezeit. Wir haben um ca 18:30-18:45 die Bestellung für das essen aufgegeben, bekommen haben wir das essen gegen 20:00-20:20. Die Zutaten scheinen alle frisch zu sein. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr sehr freundliche Bedienung, auch wenn das Restaurant voll ist , wird man immer freundlich behandelt. Selbst ohne Reservierung, wird man nicht abgewiesen und bei Laune gehalten. Wir haben als Familie mit zwei Kindern spontan heute am Feiertag reservieren können und sind kurze Zeit später los gefahren. Die Bedienung und generell jeder vom Service sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Vor dem Essen gab es Brot mit lecker Kräuterbutter aufs Haus. Das Essen war sehr lecker und hat uns allen geschmeckt. Hatte glatt mein Gutscheinbuch vergessen, aber am Feiertag gilt dies normalerweise eh nicht und so haben wir einen Grund erneut wieder zu kommen. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon!

Wir haben hier sehr gut eine Jubiläumsfeier abgehalten, der Service, das Essen und das Ambiente sind top. Besonders dass wir mit 20 Personen gleichzeitig gegessen haben hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Wir kamen unangemeldet mit Hund und konnten im Restaurant einen freien Tisch aussuchen. Ein lecker Pilsken zum sehr, sehr leckeren und preiswerten Essen rundete den Abend ab.

Freundliche, geradezu herzliche Bedienung; schneller Service trotz Hochbetrieb; das Essen vorzüglich: Lachs mit Reis und frischer Salat; Schweinemedaillons überbacken mit Bratkartoffeln und Spinat - sicherlich die leckersten Bratkartoffeln weit und breit, auch der Spinat interessant angerichtet, Überbackenes mit Käse kennt man ja, aber hier: mit Tomate (!) und Käse überbackene Medaillons: überraschend und köstlich! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder1

Essen sehr lecker und reichlich, trotz Gutscheinbuchnutzung sehr netter, lustiger u. aufmerksamer Service, Preis/Leistung ok! Außenbereich durch Straße und Zugverkehr manchmal etwas laut, insgesamt aber nett (innen nicht gewesen). Kommen gerne wieder, auch ohne Gutschein!

Beim ersten Mal waren wir mit Gutscheinbuch dort. Das hat uns so gut gefallen und geschmeckt, dass wir inzwischen zig Mal wieder dort waren und nächste Woche wieder. Ein Beweis, dass es noch gutes und bezahlbare Essen im Restaurant gibt!

Wir kommen jetzt schon seit einiger Zeit regelmäßig in den Alten Bahnhof und sind jedesmal von dem tollen und freundlichen Service (auch und gerade, wenn viel Betrieb ist) begeistert. Die Wünsche werden einem sozusagen von den Augen abgelesen und man merkt sich z.B. , daß der Verfasser seinen Salat am liebsten mit Essig und Öl serviert bekommt und in welcher Reihenfolge man seine Getränke einnimmt. Das mögen Kleinigkeiten sein, aber wenn man wie wir schon viele nachlässige und unmotivierte Bedienungen in Restaurants erlebt hat, weiß man das umso mehr zu schätzen. Das Essen ist stets frisch und lecker und appetitlich angerichtet. Wir freuen uns immer schon die halbe Woche vorher darauf... Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist überaus in Ordnung. Die Atmosphäre in dem gemütlichen Restaurant ist lebendig, aber nie zu laut. Es sind in der Regel gut gelaunte Gäste anwesend, die dem Bahnhof offenbar schon lange (zu Recht) die Treue halten. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch die Außenterasse im Sommer !!!

Von uns volle Punktzahl. Wir gehen seid Jahren gerne im alten Bahnhof Essen da hier einfach alles stimmt. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und schnell. Man wartet nie lange, weder auf Getränke, noch auf das Essen. Es gibt eine Standart Speisekarte, die immer mal wieder saisonal erweitert wird. Das Essen sit ausnahmslos lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
