Amazing pizza, great people, what more could you want!

We were greeted rudely. The food was terrible, both the pasta and the pizza. The soup tasted like tomato sauce. When we tried to pay by card, the waiter was also very unfriendly. Now we're struggling with nausea after eating at the restaurant. I can't understand the positive reviews.

The onion soup and sole were delicious. The service was unique and friendly. The interior was a pleasant surprise. We'll be back to try something else.

When you expect nothing and are still disappointed, it's certainly a special experience. Whether it's half-warm or half-cold is in the eye of the beholder, but lukewarm was too hot for what was on my plate. We won't go into the specifics of the dishes, but no culinary finesse was required to fulfill my wish, or in this case, it wasn't (it was the purest standard that was supposed to be met). The service was very nice at first, but quickly deteriorated due to our position, which was probably far too visible. We and my empty glass were impossible to miss, especially not for the sixth time when we had covered 90% of the distance and the crowd was manageable. At least the pickup business is flourishing, and judging by what I saw, I should have ordered pizza instead. Thank you very much, I won't be back.

This "Italian" restaurant is not recommended for a romantic meal for two. We can certainly do without the candle at the table, but neither the taste nor the good service nor the timing. After my partner had already had his appetizer for several minutes, it dawned on me... he would have to eat it separately from me and my appetizer. When my appetizer finally arrived with our two main courses, it became clear to us... we're not eating here again; we'd rather eat a slice of dry bread at home. The appetizers were edible, but nothing special. Neither the snails drenched in tomato sauce nor the breaded feta lump with remoulade and sour salad dressing could save the evening. My pizza was very thin and yet not really cooked. Perhaps I could have held it over the missing candle at the table to reheat it. The pepperoni sausage only tasted of spices, not a hint of salami. Overall, very bad. I didn't dare ask about my husband's taste experience, but his expression left no questions unanswered. The service isn't worth mentioning, as it barely showed up. So, it's impossible to judge :-). ...at least we've had another, hopefully soon, enjoyable experience.

Nice, hospitable restaurant in Rodenbach. And if you're ever in the mood for a great steak, this is the place for you! Grilled to perfection and incredibly delicious. And the delivery people are great too! Highly recommended!

We like to go there if it takes us further

I was very disappointed with the pizza, I have never eaten such a bad pizza, just canned vegetables and the dough was hard as anything...unfortunately not recommended.

Great place! The food was delicious and prepared with love! My husband and I ordered the grilled king prawns and calamari (without sauce) (see pictures). My children each ordered a children's pizza and a regular pizza. The food is offered in three different sizes, as indicated on the menu. The staff was quick and uncomplicated, and they were also very nice and friendly. They were flexible with our special requests, and everything went smoothly. The wait was acceptable, and at the end, the staff even gave my children a lollipop. We will definitely be coming back!

At DaBruno, you can eat reasonably priced and quite well. But the price of beer is truly outrageous. Recently, they've been charging the hefty price of €5.50 for a very "modest" "Schöfferhofer Weizenbier." This is completely unacceptable and totally unusual for a restaurant of this modest category!!!

A local Italian restaurant, but good and affordable. You get what you'd expect from a small-town Italian restaurant for everyone. Pasta, pizza, meat, and fish dishes. The portions are generous, making it a good value. Service is fast.

Previously it was so nice on taste and service but it was changed something like a vacation of chef or other reason. Anyway it was overcooked and not like before.

Bruno is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Hanau area! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the pizza and homemade pasta. The new service is fantastic and very good! The beer garden is a wonderful place to sit.

We ate a delicious salad and antipasti grilled vegetables and can recommend it.

The service was a complete disaster. The waiters are unfriendly, they don't come to your table to ask if you want something to drink, and you don't even have a chance to call them because they're not looking. The food is very good, though. Keep the chef, he'll save you. The atmosphere is good, but unfortunately, it's close to the road and the sewer system, so they can't do anything about it.

It was my first time at Da Bruno, and it won't be the last. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was incredibly delicious.

There's a small theater in Rodenbach, the "Steins Tivoli." If we're traveling to the 8:00 p.m. performance (100km away), we need to fortify ourselves beforehand. What could be more natural than walking across the street to "Da Bruno" and having a drink there? With the wonderful summer weather, the beer garden was packed, but the winter garden was still completely empty. The tortellini was good, and the panzerotti was amazing—really good. So if you ever come to Rodenbach, you should definitely try "Da Bruno."

Very good Italian Food Restaurant

When we arrived, we were looked up and down... like, "Who are you?" "What do you want here?" "You don't belong here!" No "Hello." I had to ask if I could come in before she reacted. I wanted to have a leisurely meal, completely... The young lady serving us was nice, but the older lady at the entrance was a total no-go. We left without eating anything.

We had dinner there. The waiters weren't the friendliest. The Bolognese sauce on the Bolognese schnitzel, as well as the Bolognese sauce on the tortellini, tasted too salty and sometimes had what felt like old sauce. The kids' pizza cost €7.50 instead of €5 (possibly because of a special request for Hawaiian). You could have called it that. Overpriced for the quality.

Great Pizza, Salats and Pasta. We eat here regularly at least every week!

After waiting for over 2 hours, 4 of the 7 dishes we ordered finally arrived. The seven of us then shared this as we still had a follow-up appointment. There was no information as to why it was taking so long. In the meantime, new guests had received their pizzas. The staff couldn't explain to us what was wrong. No apology or compensation. It was the same at the next table. 2 hours of waiting and then a portion of children's noodles for 3 kids. It's a shame, the taste was quite good. But that really wasn't OK!

I was there for the second time at lunchtime today with my family. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the service was very polite and courteous. I can recommend the restaurant to the best of my knowledge!!! We'll definitely be back. Best regards and keep it up!

Best pizza ever. There is no better restaurant. We eat pizza there almost every week. Always top service and super good quality food. And the prices are not too expensive.

Ein kleines Dinner mit Freunden vor einem gemütlichen Theaterabend - das war der Plan. Die bestellten Pizzen waren soweit geschmacklich in Ordnung - zwar unaufgeregter Durchschnitt, aber handwerklich zumindest recht solide. Der Service hingegegen war leider völlig indiskutabel. Die diensthabende Dame war schlecht gelaunt, unfreundlich, bocklos und unaufmerksam. Ich gebe normalerweise immer Trinkgeld und wenn der Service gut war, gerne auch sehr, sehr großzügig. An diesem Tag gab es jedoch keinen Cent. Vielleicht hatte sie nur diesen einen schlechten Tag - ich werde es nie erfahren, weil ich nicht mehr hingehen werde. Schwamm drüber. Warum aber um alles in der Welt gibt es 73 Jahre nach der Eröffnung der ersten Pizzeria in Deutschland immer noch Köche, respektive Wirte, die eine derart ideenlose Speisekarte anbieten und glauben, man müsse die Milch- und Sahneschwemme der Wirtschaftswunderjahre auch ins 21. Jahrhundert herüberretten?!? In der italienischen Küche gibt es kaum Pastasoßen, die mit Sahne gekocht werden. Anders bei "da Bruno". Hier wird neben Tomaten-Sahnesoßen sogar der römische Kultklassiker "Carbonara" mit Sahne und Schinken vergewaltigt. Wenn ich so etwas auf Speisekarten lese, könnte ich gerade rückwärts wieder aus dem Lokal gehen. Dass Italiener ihre eigene Küche so missinterpretieren und uns noch immer einen geschmacklosen Eisbergsalat mit Schinken und Ei als "italienischen Salat" andrehen (den in Bella Italia kein Mensch kennt, geschweige denn so macht), kann ich genauso wenig verstehen, wie die vielen Deutschen, die so etwas immer noch akzeptieren. Seit rund 20 Jahren laufen Kochshows im TV und Italien ist seit jeher eines der beliebtesten Urlaubsländer der "stupidi tedeschi" - da sollte doch langsam der letzte Leichenwagenbremser verstanden haben, dass derart uninspirierte Gerichte mit Italien wenig gemein haben. Über den kulinarischen Mehrwert einer "französischen Zwiebelsuppe" auf einer italienischen Menükarte möchte ich jetzt erst gar nicht erst nachdenken müssen. Mein italienischer Croßcousin - seines Zeichens Küchenmeister - hat es von jeher richtig gemacht. Der hat seinen Lehrlingen immer mit dem Kochlöffel auf die Pfoten gehauen und nach dem einprägsamen Satz: "Nienta panna nella Carbonara, st***zo!" war jedem klar, was man für eine anständige Nudelsoße braucht: KEINE Sahne. Assolutamente no. Bei "da Bruno" ist deutlich Luft nach oben, was hierzulande leider eher die Regel, als die Ausnahme ist. Schade eigentlich. Es ist so einfach, geile Pastasoßen ohne ChiChi zu machen, die nach etwas schmecken, ohne dass man das Gefühl hat, ein Glas Schlagrahm auf ex getrunken zu haben...

It was worth a try... I'll stick with that one. A small dinner with friends before a cozy evening at the theater – that was the plan. The pizzas we ordered were fine in terms of taste – unexcitingly average, but at least quite solid in terms of craftsmanship. The service, however, was unfortunately completely unacceptable. The lady on duty was grumpy, unfriendly, unmotivated, and inattentive. I usually always tip, and if the service was good, I'm happy to be very, very generous. On this day, however, there wasn't a cent. Maybe she was just having that one bad night – I'll never know because I won't be going there again. Never mind. But why on earth, 73 years after the first pizzeria opened in Germany, are there still chefs, or rather proprietors, offering such a lackluster menu and believing that the milk and cream glut of the economic miracle years must be carried over into the 21st century?!? In Italian cuisine, there are hardly any pasta sauces made with cream. It's different at "da Bruno." In addition to tomato cream sauces, they even offer a rendition of the Roman cult classic "Carbonara" with cream and ham. When I read something like that on menus, I could just walk backwards out of the restaurant. I can't understand why Italians misinterpret their own cuisine so much and still sell us a tasteless iceberg lettuce with ham and egg as an "Italian salad" (which no one in Bella Italia knows, let alone makes like that), just as I can't understand the many Germans who still accept such things. Cooking shows have been on TV for around 20 years, and Italy has always been one of the most popular vacation destinations for the "stupidi tedeschi" – so by now, even the last hearse brakeman should have realized that such uninspired dishes have little in common with Italy. I don't even want to think about the culinary added value of a "French onion soup" on an Italian menu. My Italian cousin – a master chef by trade – has always done it right. He always gave his apprentices a good talking to, and after the memorable line: "Nienta panna nella Carbonara, st***zo!", it was clear to everyone what you need for a decent pasta sauce: NO cream. Absolutely no! At "da Bruno," there's clearly room for improvement, which is unfortunately more the rule than the exception here. It's a shame, really. It's so easy to make amazing pasta sauces without any frills, that taste like something, without making you feel like you've just downed a glass of whipped cream in one sitting...

January 29, 2025 Update: Everyone deserves a second chance. Unfortunately, only one thing has changed: the service was much better. Pizza probably won't remain their forte. Grappa at the end was friendly. I give one more star. Older: The taste of the food was okay, but canned mushrooms and pressed ham are no longer an option these days. Therefore, points are deducted in any case because of the quality selection. Unfortunately the service was a disaster; unfriendly, unprofessional and clumsy in appearance. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good and clean.

With all due respect, the pizza I ordered today was just a frozen pizza from Lidl or Rewe with some fresh tomato and basil. The service was slightly below average. I had too high expectations and was disappointed.

Sehr gute Öffnungszeiten, schöner Wintergarten. Leckeres Schnitzel, Dressing für Beilagensalat leider aus der Flasche. Sonst alles gut.

Pizzeria with a fairly large menu and fair prices. The food tasted very good and the portions were large enough to fill you up. The schnitzel could have had a little more sauce on it, but otherwise nothing to complain about. The suggestion of a medium pizza size isn't a bad one either. The small one might be a bit too small - if you're normally hungry - the big one deserves the name big ;) The service is quick and not annoying, we like that. In summer you can probably sit outside. Recommended 👍

Excellent cutlet ... crispy pizza ... excellent tasting village pasta ... we often come to this restaurant and there are rarely any negative notes ... the kind and attentive staff gives the finishing touch ... top ... !!!!!

We've been wanting to eat at Da Bruno for years because we drive past it regularly. After our visit today I regret that it took us so long. I haven't eaten such tender calamari in a long time. The white wine sauce and fresh bread... perfect. The steak was on point and of good meat quality. The eyes also get a feast. The service was very friendly. We would like to come back.

The meal, vegetables piled up as antipasti, with little spice for 11 euros. Main course, sole with broccoli and potatoes medium fried, low in sodium with strong roasted aromas. 23 euros. But pizzas looked great and were highly praised by other guests.

We organized a “comfort coffee” at short notice. Thank you very much for that, everything worked out great :-). And Da Bruno has been the first stop for me and our family in Rodenbach for decades when we go out to eat.

From the looks of it, he has rejuvenated his service staff, is very quick and super nice.

A classic Italian with (in my opinion) an overloaded menu. We had pizza there that wasn't great. Some frozen pizzas are better. Dough too thick and the topping was run of the mill. I would have expected more from an Italian restaurant for pizza.

Rather below average We wanted to eat out as a multi-generational family and luckily got a table outside for six people. Nevertheless, there was a relatively high level of noise. Being in my mid-40s, I'm certainly not the most sensitive to noise, but I imagined spending time on the outdoor terrace would be a little more pleasant. The order was taken quickly and the drinks came quickly. However, we had to wait a good hour for the food. Unfortunately, a steak we ordered had to be sent back because it was still very raw and not "medium" as ordered. Another dish was apparently forgotten and was only served after we asked the waitress. The overall quality of the food was just okay, the pizza was below average. Apparently vegetables from a jar were used here - it was particularly clear that the mushrooms and peppers were not fresh. I find that completely unacceptable in this day and age. Overall, there were some points that definitely need improvement. We prefer to go to another Italian restaurant where we have had significantly better experiences - both in terms of service and the quality of the food. --- We were in this restaurant for the second time within a few weeks and this time we were invited as a family. I chose the "Madagascar" rump steak with croquettes. Unfortunately, the steak did not meet my expectations as it was not served in the form of a classic slice. Instead, I received a 5 to 6 cm thick, round piece of fillet that was visually unappealing. The taste of the dish was also not convincing - both the meat and the croquettes were very bland and almost unseasoned. In addition, the Madagascar sauce had separated into fat and other components, so that there was no real sauce left. Overall the quality of the food was disappointing. Another drawback was the service process. Unfortunately, the six dishes we ordered were not served at the same time. While five meat dishes arrived at the same time, the pasta wasn't served until about four to five minutes later. In addition, the desired parmesan for the pasta as well as ketchup and mayonnaise for the Wiener-style schnitzel had to be requested separately. What should be highlighted positively, however, is the friendliness of the staff, which made the evening pleasant, at least in this respect.

Had good experiences at Da Bruno twice. Pizza Extra tasted good, Tortelloni Bolognese was fantastic. Service was good on both visits. Hygiene/cleanliness in the restaurant was also good. Clear recommendation

Don't go there if you are hungry or alone. I was ignored for good 10 minutes before i could order. I said i want to eat and ordered a beer. The beer came without foam and by the state of condensation on the glass i would say it stood for a while before being served. Then i was ignored for another 15 minutes -i wanted to eat, but nobody bothered taking my order. All the couples that came after me had immediatelly full attention of the staff. I left hungry after half an hour, because it was very obvious that locals and couples are more important than a single guest from abroad.

We were here for the first time today. We found the food delicious and it was very cozy outside on the terrace in the evening. Toilets and everything else in the restaurant was clean. But what we liked best was the staff. Super friendly and relaxed people. Despite our many small children who were just doing nonsense at the end and our "moving the furniture" due to the number of people, no one seemed annoyed. We felt comfortable. Always my pleasure.

I wanted to write so much, but I'll leave it alone. We were 5 people. We'd rather erase yesterday's evening there from our memories. It was just underground. Short and sweet. Wrong drinking, wrong food and no service. Thank God that's not always the case and the food itself was ok. For the first time there was NO tip from me. Next time again (definitely).

Food was super tasty, well seasoned and a good, rather large portion (schnitzel with fries). The waitress, a young man, was also great, very friendly and competent :) there is a nice atmosphere outside, cozy and pleasant to eat despite the street. The price-performance ratio was also good. I'm looking forward to the next time I eat there with my family and will definitely recommend it!

You can still get real Italian pizza here. Other dishes are also good. Service is always top!

The pizza was very good. But the staff was a disaster. They never checked to see if you wanted something to drink, and there was no response even when you waved. The same when paying. Despite waving several times, no one came. When, I assume it was the boss, she came and when asked if you could pay by card, she mumbled something incomprehensible in a very unfriendly manner. After waiting some more, we went to the counter to pay. There was also the EC device there, portable, so it was also there to be used at the table. So food was great, service was flop.

It's actually more like Italian-style fast food. There are schnitzels soaked in cream sauce with fries or croquettes, pasta that was declared as homemade, but looked suspiciously like a convenience product to me. These too drowned in cream sauce. The service wasn't particularly attentive and even passed two orders incorrectly at our table. Only recommended to a limited extent for vegetarians. Then you just have to choose between salad (with ready-made dressing) and pasta drowned in cream sauce. The food comes quickly, the toilets are very clean, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. You can sit inside or outside in the beer garden. There are sufficient free parking spaces.

Everyone was very friendly and the food was as good as on holiday, thank you very much!

The food is good, the price is fair, the service is nice, but the location directly on the main street is not ideal.

Man oh man, there are really unfriendly staff. When the plates are placed in front of you so that the pizza slides 3 cm over the edge of the plate. That says it all. There is still a lot of room for improvement. But not with me. Experienced a real failure once. You don't need this a second time.

This is my second time on Montage for about a week in Rodenbach and I've been going to the Da Bruno restaurant since the first day. I'm thrilled with the food, service and ambience. I would come here again and again and would recommend it to anyone. EXCELLENT

Very cozy. Service was friendly and the food was super tasty. We had a Madagascar rump steak and a salad with turkey strips. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back.

It's been a long time since I've been to Da Bruno and we generally had a good evening. Service was quick and friendly, food was good, and we got a nice table in the winter garden. We've already tested a lot of pizzas in the area, but despite the generous amount of toppings, I found that the flavor was a bit lacking... chili oil made it better, but I can't give it more than 4 stars. The pizzas are offered with a diameter of 26cm - which I find really small, or 36cm diameter - which is almost too big. A medium size would be optimal, 30-32cm... just a suggestion.

Mitarbeiter super freundlich, Essen total lecker. Waren das erste mal eigentlich nur durch Zufall da, aber wir werden jetzt öfter mal kommen. Vorallem Pizza schmeckt super,da der Rand super dünn ist und die Pizza einen tollen knusprigen Boden hat.

Preisleistung, gut. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Wir waren an Silvester und das Lokal war voll und trotzdem hatten wir schnell unser Essen und es war lecker!

Essen war super und lecker, Bedienung geht jedem Wunsch nach und ist super zuvorkommend. Komme gerne wieder.

Das Essen war mit kleinen Abstrichen soweit ganz gut und die Bedienung freundlich. Das Schnitzel war zu dunkel und dadurch ziemlich trocken. Die Spaghetti waren gut und al dente, allerdings wollte ich sie ein bisschen schärfer haben und musste dafür nochmal 1 € Aufpreis zahlen. Das fand ich jetzt nicht so toll. Außerdem esse ich generell Spaghetti-Gerichte lieber aus einem tiefen Teller anstatt aus einem flachen. Das ist aber nur meine persönliche Empfindung und nicht als Kritik zu sehen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente und sehr nette Bedienung. Haben ohne Reservierung einen Platz bekommen. Essen ist sehr gut und es gibt große Portionen. Kommen gerne wieder.
