Amazing pizzeria! Here you get: - Super friendly service - Open all day (not just in the evenings like everywhere else) - The BEST pizza in the area! Even kids who NEVER eat pizza with toppings otherwise love it here!

Since my first review was unfortunately deleted because I mentioned the name of the friendly pizza maker, here's a new one. Yes, the restaurant is a bit dated, but the friendly owner more than makes up for it. I especially want to mention the incredibly delicious pizza straight from the wood-fired oven. I've rarely eaten anything so good. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks to the team!

Al Gabbiano has been our favorite Italian restaurant for years! The pizzas are second to none, and no matter what you order, everything is always delicious. The service is fast and friendly—all in all, highly recommended!

I went to this restaurant today with a friend. The atmosphere is very rustic and overall feels rather old-fashioned. Unfortunately, our visit was less than pleasant: The service was quite snippy and often seemed annoyed, which made the experience unpleasant. The surroundings were also disappointing – the tablecloths were visibly stained and didn't look clean. The side salad was disappointing: the vegetables weren't fresh, some were brownish, and the tomatoes were mushy. The pizza was okay, but unfortunately nothing special. Overall, we would have expected much more – both in terms of the food and the service. Currently, we see no reason for another visit.

Very good pizzas, fresh from the wood-fired oven. The antipasti are recommended. However, the salad had too much dressing and was somewhat poorly presented. The service and ambiance could be improved, hence only 4 stars.

Today we decided to try this pizzeria for the first time and went there for dinner. We ordered both pizza and pasta to sample more of the menu. Both were truly excellent – very well-balanced in flavor, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately, our overall impression was completely ruined by the behavior of the waitress, who was unfriendly from the very first moment. I've worked in the restaurant industry for nine years myself and know that not every day is easy – but this kind of behavior towards guests is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. The highlight was when we got our second course and she seriously asked us if we wanted to keep the used cutlery from the pasta. That was the final straw for us. The food was truly excellent, but because of the way the waitress treated us, we will definitely not visit this restaurant again.

This cozy, old-style restaurant invites you to a romantic meal. The service was very attentive, but not at all intrusive, and we received excellent service. Our pizzas were large, generously topped, and delicious, as was our tiramisu afterward. The menu is perfect for those on a budget and leaves nothing to be desired. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We received a very friendly welcome. We were served very quickly. The pizzas are very large (34 cm), so we asked for one to be cut in half and served on two plates. They served us very kindly. Delicious crust, generous toppings. Our special drink request was also very friendly. We'd be happy to go again!

Highly recommended. Looks rather inconspicuous from the outside but very appealing inside. People enjoy spending time here. I've only eaten pizza there so far, and it was definitely above average at a very reasonable price. Of course there are also other Italian dishes here. Pizza was good, but unfortunately cold today, since it was very stressful and a lot of pickups came in, I think it was an exceptional situation and there was a lack of staff. If this is not the case, then we can recommend the pizza.

I have tried 5 dishes so far, from pizza to pasta, all 5 dishes were 1 with a star, no words, I can only recommend everyone to come by, thumbs up!!

The food is really good, the staff is always friendly even in times of stress! Hey, the decor is almost retro again, but we find that rather irrelevant. They're there to eat

Firstly, the ambience was really old and out dated. If you are a non smoker, you will realise how terriblely smelly your clothing smells after a visit here, so be prepared to do some washing when you get home. At 8,50€ for a 0,25l primitivo, I expected better quality and I have been to a few restaurants who offer a great quality primitivo wine. As they say in german " Pur Betrug". The Weißbier was also very low quality in taste and terribley poured and at a whopping 5€. The pizza is actually the only thing that you can eat here that is worth eating, yet, I would not recommend this restaurant even if it's in a voucher book. One of the lowest quality pizzerias I have ever visited. If you don't want to be disappointed then rather order a takeaway pizza here and have decent drinks of your choice at home that don't taste like stale old drinks like at this establishment. Nonetheless, I would highly advise to steer clear of this restaurant for inside dining. One of my top 5 worst experiences.

Today we were there for the second time in a short time and we are very enthusiastic about the food. My pasta was always amazing and so were my wife's pasta and pizza.

We decided to go there for lunch because we wanted to eat pizza from the wood-fired oven. The wood stove is right in the restaurant and you can see the wood smoldering. You can watch the pizza maker as he freshly prepares the pizzas. They come to the table really fresh and hot and are 34 cm tall! The prices, however, are rather small! The pizzas tasted very good. The service also deserves high praise. We were greeted immediately and were allowed to choose where we would like to sit. We were immediately asked if we would like to eat and the menus were on the table and the drinks order was taken. You don't often find this much attention and speed with very friendly staff anymore. Absolutely recommended!

Real wood-fired pizza: Good food at affordable prices (weekday lunchtimes) - anytime and again. Don't let the outside impression fool you.

Oh man.. the large salad for almost €12 is just cheeky. Please note there are 3 leaves of lettuce, half a tomato and a few slices of cucumber and 3 small pieces of asparagus (From the jar) Asparagus extra (3 small pieces) 2€. If you are offered a Coca Cola you will get a Pepsi. Just cheeky

Ate tortellini there. They were wholesale ones, simply baked with cream. I found the seats directly at the parking lot to be bad, cars were constantly driving. Never again. Pizza was ok.

I've been going to Al Gabbiano for years because I've always found the pizzas to be very good. I ordered the Spaghetti al Tonno Pegasus for the first time today and was absolutely thrilled. A really great Sicilian-style recipe with a number of ingredients that work wonderfully together. Gladly again at any time!

Were there often because the pizza is really good. BUT when you pick up the pizza, which has already become more expensive, a “please” came to point out that you didn’t say a tip. I said nothing. Then there was perhaps a small amount, like 3€ or something like that. I'm not the kind of person who wouldn't give a damn if everything were right, the employees would be nice or I would be served there. BUT actively asking about it doesn't work for me. I paid for the pizza and picked it up and that's all I got. Sorry but lost 5 customers.

Very nice family-run restaurant with a real wood-fired pizza oven🔥 We had a large salad and 2x pizza. Pizzas are very big and tasty. The salad is lush, but I will order with vinegar and oil next time because it was too strong for me. But as always, that is a matter of taste. We'd love to come back!

It's good, but the real Italian ice cream is usually better and tastier. Here it's just called Italian ice cream.

We ordered a pizza to pick up. We were told on the phone that she would be ready for pickup in 20-25 minutes. Then there was great disillusionment on site. After an hour we finally had the scampi pizza in my hands. Four minutes later came the next disillusionment. For the impressive price there are actually a whole EIGHT! Scampi including the shell on it… wow - thank you very much for that. Thank God there are plenty of alternatives.

We've been going here for pizza every now and then for several years now. In contrast to other restaurants, the food still tastes excellent.

Al Gabbiano is and remains simply the best pizzeria in the area. Typically Sicilian ✨ The prices on site or to take away are absolutely fair, as quality is at the top here. The rooms and the furnishings are a bit rustic, but I find it typically Italian and therefore very suitable.

You rarely come across a real Italian pizzeria. Open all day. Feel free to come here after swimming. And we enjoy good food even in winter.

Yesterday there were four of us as a family, sitting right next to the pizza oven and it was fascinating. The food was super tasty and ready quickly. The staff was very nice and accommodating and made us feel at home. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back!!! 😉. It was a great evening.

Picked up pizza here for the first time today and it's really awesome. The dough is some of the best we've had so far. We also had a mixed salad, which was easily enough for both of us in its normal version. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating area isn't the nicest, but the delicious food easily makes up for that. Will definitely eat here more often.

We love to pick up or eat there. It always tastes great and the price is also great :) You can hardly find such good quality in the area anymore. The waiters and the manager of the house are always friendly and make sure their guests are satisfied. We always recommend the restaurant 👍🏼

We ate at Al Gabbiano this evening and absolutely loved it! As soon as we entered the restaurant we noticed the cozy atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which made the visit even more pleasant. The menu offers a great selection. The pizza was fantastic - the dough was perfect, the tomato sauce was wonderfully aromatic and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right here. We can recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious pizza in a pleasant environment. We will be back definitely.

Insalata Gabbiano for 26 CHF - a few green leaves, 1 piece of egg, 2 anchovies - price performance is probably NOT right! BRUSCHETTA Caprese - dry and tasteless - it wasn't cream cheese! ! It's a shame, despite the beautiful location, not recommended!!!

Ihre Preise sind schon wieder teurer geworden. Auf den rigattoni ist nicht mal mehr ein Basilikum Blatt ala Dekoration. Die Getränke 0,4 auf 4,50 Einfach frech.

The pizza is bad and the service is bad

The restaurant is a bit older in design and it gives the feeling that no thought has been given to decorations etc. for a long time, but still a pleasant atmosphere, just a bit older. You have to like it. The food was really delicious and the highlight of the restaurant. Real wood oven for the pizza, pasta prepared according to original Italian recipes (Carbonara). Everything was really great when it came to the food, nothing to complain about. But the service was a complete disaster. Very unfriendly and visibly annoyed that we were there to eat. No friendly approach, no friendly questions, very annoyed when paying. When ordering, one of our group made a pronunciation mistake and the lady, extremely annoyed, pointed out that these were two different dishes (dishes are written in Italian and not everyone can pronounce the dishes correctly). So really very intolerant about that. No please and thank you. Also generally a very rough tone from the operation. The lady from the bar who brought the drinks was super friendly and very nice. But I've actually never experienced such unfriendly service (from one waitress). Unfortunately, this led me to rate the restaurant with only 2 stars, although it would have deserved more if the service had been better. For this reason alone, even though the food is really excellent, we will not be visiting this restaurant again. I'm very sorry for the operator (unless it's the operator in question, which would be even worse).

Ordered two pizzas today (seafood + margarita) and they charged €25 without drinks. I hope that the lady who works there isn't the boss, as she really wasn't friendly nor did it seem like she wanted to work there. In general the furnishings are not my taste either. Pizza was very oily and not much seafood. A pity

I was here in the shop in 2009, when my father, who has since died, ran this family business. The mother was still behind the counter then as now, the daughter is still serving as back then, the son baked the pizzas then as now, the pizza still tastes just as good as it did back then. All in all, these are the best pizzas I've ever eaten. I have to say, I really like eating pizza and have only been traveling in Germany and around the world for work for 20 years. When I say these are the best pizzas, it should mean something to everyone. Update: April 26, 2024 The pizza still tastes very good, today I found out that my brother is no longer here and has more time for his family, as the working hours in restaurants are not necessarily family-friendly. The employees in the kitchen have to follow the original recipes from the late father, which is why the quality of the food is maintained. Thanks again to the owners (mother & daughter) for providing us with food, I like being here when I have time, I forgot to tell you a few times, but you can rest assured and come here with a clear conscience, it will be perfect for you sure to taste good. By the way, if you like it very spicy, you can try the homemade powder pepperoni, it's not so spicy that it numbs your mouth, but it's spicy enough to make the food even tastier.

Very good pizzas...had a place where it was very drafty. Affecting several tables was very uncomfortable as soon as the door was opened. And that happened more often. A windbreak or curtain would have to be installed on the door. Unfortunately it had a negative impact on the stay.

There are really delicious pizzas here! All in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff from the family business. Free parking spaces are also available directly in front of the building.

After a while we went back to our previous pizzeria. It was a shock! The ambience is dark, shabby and loveless. It smells damp and musty. Apparently nothing has been done there for years! The tablecloths were stained, all of them! The staff said: I have never seen such a lackluster and listless waitress (boss?)! Sad... The food was actually good, the pizza was great! But, unfortunately, as we all know, the eye eats too. So it was probably our last time under these circumstances...
