Pizza Planet in Hilden

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Hilden. We always enjoy coming here on special occasions as the food is excellent and we have never been disappointed. The prices for the food are really not expensive for the quality. The drinks prices, on the other hand, are a bit expensive (especially the beer). In summer you can sit romantically outside, in winter you can sit very comfortably in the half-timbered house. You should definitely reserve in advance!

A nice and recommendable restaurant.

We went for brunch on a Sunday. Coffee, milk and orange juice were already on the table and were constantly being refilled. The breakfast buffet was good and sufficient, there were light and dark rolls and bread, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon and meatballs, tomatoes/mozzarella, cucumber, peppers, salad. Also some sausage, fish, cheese, jam. Unfortunately, the cheese platter was richly topped with walnuts, so I couldn't eat any of it. Still, I was able to find enough for myself. A little later the lunch buffet was added. However, we were already well full. That's why we didn't look until late. There wasn't much of the salmon with spinach left, but there was still enough, potatoes, semmek dumplings, spaetzle, Djuve rice, vegetables, champion sauce, chicken..., dessert Conclusion: We felt comfortable and ate well and enough in a relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed on Christmas Day. There was only one Christmas card, which was okay. would have been if it had been communicated in advance and if the selection had been better. Very pig and turkey heavy. It was advertised as a dish with Bernaise sauce, but it was served with mushroom sauce. Not just here, this was also served like this at other tables...without comment. Whether it's schnitzel, whether it's turkey, whether it's a mixed selection of meat, everything with the same sauce, but more on that at the end. Since the service was already completely overwhelmed, we didn't complain. At the next table a large family waited for well over an hour for their food...apparently they were forgotten. People came to our table several times and asked whether the food that the waitress had in her hand was ordered by us... no, it wasn't, not even when another meal was delivered, even though we were all already eating. Drink requests were not asked at all during the meal, we always had to "follow". A drink order was forgotten but was on the bill. On the way to the toilet I caught further conversations among the service staff about forgotten receipts. Unfortunately it was very chaotic and disorganized. And now back to dinner. Grill plate was ok. Schnitzel was ok. Medallions, once just turkey, twice beef, pork, turkey, were ok, although very lightly seasoned and the pork was quite hard and dry. But the worst thing was the sauce, which was really the same for all dishes and shouldn't have been served with the mixed medallions at all. Really not tasty, watery and unfortunately completely out of the bag. Very unfortunate! I also find the plates overloaded with fries and fried potatoes very bad. There are certainly a few people who eat that much, but the normal eater can't manage it! The plates look really unappealing and overloaded and sadly half of them end up being thrown away. Who likes that? Who else can you impress with something like that? Well, we actually won't be eating here anymore. I love good service, fresh food and also a plate that appeals to me.
