PINO PIZZERIA & WEINBAR in Würzburg

Highly priced, but extravagantly good pizzas with friendly service. Parking situation is more than inadequate.

Unfortunately no parking spaces nearby. The interior of the restaurant is rather modern/very simple. 1 toilet for everyone. We had a place where we could look directly into the kitchen. Some people like it, others don't: the dishwashing worker was wearing a thick jacket, a knitted hat up to his forehead and a corona mask up to his eyes: strainge. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our pizzas: the main business seems to be with deliveries outside the home. But when we were served the pizzas, everything was absolutely top: the service was very friendly and the food was incredible too! Everyone had a different pizza, each one was special, nothing run of the mill. We had never eaten such good pizzas. The dough was great and so were the toppings. The higher price is already justified. The fact that the drinks have to be so expensive...well.

It was our first time at Pino because we heard about the good and exclusive pizza. After making the reservation through Open Table, we were told that the dress code was Business/Business, so we dressed up accordingly. When we arrived at the restaurant, we felt pretty overdressed; even the waiters were wearing simple, unironed T-shirts. The overall atmosphere was pretty casual, we actually expected something different from the menu. Appropriately, the drinks were also served in bottles, without glass, which is what I'm more familiar with in kebab stalls or similar. The service staff were visibly untrained (very shy, no questions asked, when we were in the final stages of eating, a waiter simply came and cleared the oil etc. from the table without saying a word. They also didn't ask in between whether we were still there, for example want something to drink or whether everything is okay). The pizza was very good and, above all, unusual varieties are offered here. That's exactly why we were hoping for a little more from the ambience and service. Overall, we would like to come back again.

The fluffy edge and the dough particularly stood out. You could also taste the freshness and love in the ingredients of the topping. In terms of taste, size and appearance, it's the best pizza I've eaten in Würzburg so far. The space is smaller and can be noisy, but at the same time it is nicely furnished and it's great to be able to look into the kitchen at some places and admire the fresh, steaming pizzas.

Unfortunately zero stars! I had reserved a table for 8 people for our boys' Christmas dinner on Saturday evening. The reservation was made by telephone on October 2nd, 2024 in order to get a table in time for the pre-Christmas period, as the note on the homepage or via OpenTable said that reservations can only be made by telephone in advance. When we arrived at Pino on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., we were informed that our table had been canceled days before via OpenTable. When we asked how to cancel online if a reservation was made by phone, we didn't get an explanatory answer. As I said, I had no data or options to cancel the table online. The boss then answered the phone during our conversation and didn't want to help us. Unfortunately, our evening ended before it had really begun, because with 8 people it is impossible to find a table somewhere at 7:30 p.m. in the run-up to Christmas. It's really a shame because the pizza at Pino is really delicious.

Unfortunately I don't like the guest policy, we had to leave after 1.5 hours even though we were celebrating a birthday. After we finished our pizzas we were asked to leave. We had no chance to digest, let alone order coffee/dessert. We have always enjoyed it so far, but found the visit last time unenjoyable because it was supposed to be a relaxed meeting. It used to be our favorite store. It's a shame, maybe something will change. P.S. I understand that due to high demand, many guests want to come. However, all three of us felt like customers and not guests.

The pizzeria was recommended to us as the best in Würzburg, so we had to try it out and the conclusion was mixed. The pizzas are somehow special, not standard. The ingredients are absolutely high quality, the dough is airy and fluffy and tastes really good. However, two of the three pizzas were pretty soggy, so the bottom wasn't crispy, but rather mushy and soft. According to my personal taste, the consistency of a pizza must be such that you can eat it in your hand. That wasn't the case here. The ambience is this very modern "hipster style", but also seems a bit barren and cold. But that too is a matter of taste. Overall, I don't really want to criticize the Pino, but it really depends on your own preferences and we probably won't go there again.

We have had many lovely team evenings at Pino in the past but unfortunately that was all before the change of ownership…. After a long absence (approx. 2 years) from Pino, my work colleagues (10 people) had the idea of ​​eating there again...unfortunately it was a total disappointment... The starters were far too expensive in relation to the portion size... arancini for €8.50 and you get 6 tiny little balls (somewhere else you get a whole meal for that)...it took over an hour for the pizza to arrive after ordering... but you It was delicious, that's why there is an extra star here... the service was unfriendly and after 2 hours we were asked to clear the table for the next customers... this is no longer the Pino that takes care of its customers, but the new owners are here the maximum profit from… Unfortunately, Würzburg has lost a great restaurant... and Pino has lost 10 customers.

Our visit was in August but I still decided to write a review. I expected a lot from the visit since this pizzeria was named the best in Bavaria. Unfortunately, this does not correspond to reality. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait for our table. The order came quite quickly, drinks too but then it stopped. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our pizzas. During this time no one came by to take any more drinks. Two out of four pizzas were burnt at the bottom, especially around the edge. When asked, the waitress dismissed this with a simple “that just happens in the oven”. Since you were very hungry after the long wait, you had to eat as much of the burnt pizza as you could. Overall, the pizza tasted burnt. If this hadn't been the case, it would probably have been good. There was no replacement or at least a coffee on the house or anything offered. Overall, a very disappointing experience despite the high prices.

The pizza is still outstanding! Unfortunately you have to clear the tables after 1 hour and this is pointed out several times. If the pizza comes late (it's worth it) that's a shame.

Great place to eat pizza! The service is top, the location - especially the outdoor area - is very relaxed and the pizzas, as I said, are very tasty.

I went to Pino's twice and gave him a chance to do well twice. The ingredients are fresh but as a customer I just don't feel welcome at Pino. There are a lot of little things, a lot of things that are neglected, but serving a pizza with both a hole and a burnt pizza is simply unprofessional in my opinion. I can understand that many people like this pizzeria, it also reminds me of my hometown, Napoli, but I still won't come a third time

The pizzeria exudes a cold ambience, probably because of the cheap furnishings. The beer is placed on the table in bottles. In my opinion the pizza is overhyped, to me it tastes bland and burnt.

An incorrect order was delivered first. This can always happen, considering that there is a lot going on, especially on weekends. But Pino was very accommodating and friendly. The correct pizza was later delivered to me and with a tiramisu. All on the house! Great service and super friendly employees. Tastes great as always. That's how it has to be. Keep it up Pino! Pino has actually always been able to convince us with its quality and attention to detail. Today, however, we were very disappointed with our pizzas for pickup. After an extra 20 minutes of waiting, we were finally able to take our pizzas with us. Unfortunately, most of them weren't enjoyable. One of them was destroyed, the other was burnt and the third wasn't the one we ordered... You can do better :(

A little lighting doesn't necessarily make the outdoor area a feel-good place and only contributes to a limited extent to improving the ambience. The drinks are overpriced and the Margherita (12 €!) has nothing at all in common with an original Italian pizza from Naples (where it originally comes from), just like all other pizzas: the base and the non-airy edge are much too thick! To be honest, I absolutely don't understand the hype! Answer to the answer :) An original Italian pizza such as B. a Margherita can be found south of Rome in the restaurants where Italians and not German, American, English tourists go to eat... And that at a price of 6 to 8 euros!

Addendum: Yes, I realize that a pizza tastes better on site than from a box. However, based on experience, other suppliers still manage to make it taste good. But here too the blame is shifted away. I ordered food there via Lieferando because I was on call at a clinic and had to stay on site. The pizza arrived late, all well and good, but I thought to myself that it could just happen. Unfortunately the pizza was completely soggy in the middle and underbaked and the edge was completely burnt. When I called to complain, I was offered to pick up a new pizza, then I explained that I couldn't leave the clinic, a solution couldn't be found here. I then had no food for the rest of my working hours and the owner complained to me on the phone that he couldn't leave work and laughed. I got my money back from Lieferando. However, there was no replacement on the same day. Last store, never again!

Great slightly fancier pizzeria with very attentive staff and fantastic pizzas!

First impression: absolute chaos. And unfortunately that was confirmed during the course of the visit... At the table we were greeted by a used pizza cutter from the day before, which is quite unhygienic, coupled with the fact that it was on our napkins. It took 15 minutes for us to get the tickets, and half an hour for the drinks to finally arrive. I was then allowed to drink my €4 special from the bottle that was placed in front of my nose without a glass. For starters we ordered bruschetta, 3 mini baguette slices, neither toasted nor beautifully or well garnished, soaked in olive oil, for a whopping €8... Absolutely not recommended! After waiting for over an hour after ordering, we asked where the pizza was. Apparently this was forgotten because we had a starter and the main course order was put aside. This was definitely not an isolated incident, as exactly the same thing happened at the neighboring table. This, in conjunction with the maximum stay of 1.5 hours advertised everywhere despite a reservation (which, by the way, is sometimes longer and sometimes shorter on the website, depending on which sentence you read), is also rather disadvantageous. The pizzas that were on our table after almost 1.5 hours were good, but nowhere near as good as described online, especially with the prices in mind... Overall, the food was good, but it was ruined for us by the ambience and the overwhelmed (but also understaffed) service.

The pizzas in this restaurant are really fantastic - there's nothing wrong with that. But the boss and customer service? Simply beneath all dignity. We had made reservations for my birthday and when we arrived they suddenly said there was no room for us. The boss was not only unfriendly, but downright rude. He told us in a condescending tone that we could either sit outside in the blazing heat or leave. No accommodation, no understanding – just plain insolence. We then went somewhere else to save the day. Such behavior is unacceptable, no matter how good the pizza is. I won't justify my subjective perception here - everyone has their own experiences. However, I took a close look at the other reviews as well as the restaurant's responses to them. Healthy self-confidence in one's own culinary skills is completely understandable and I am in no way criticizing it, on the contrary: the pizza is really great. What is noticeable, however, is the arrogant and sometimes condescending way in which well-founded comments are responded to. These reactions only confirm what we have experienced ourselves: the treatment of guests definitely leaves a lot to be desired. It would be desirable if the quality of the food was also reflected in the service.

First of all: Pino is always our first choice when it comes to pizzas. Our favorite pizzas are the vegan salami pizza and the magic mushroom pizza - both vegan creations that really impress us every time. Since we live nearby, we have picked up our own food there several times and it worked without any problems each time. A few weeks ago we felt like eating in a restaurant. We reserved online and got there on time. It was busy so we were asked to wait a moment. 10 minutes (!) later we were able to get to our table. In general everything went very slowly, everything seemed very chaotic and the atmosphere wasn't really nice due to the high volume. However, we understand that it can be crowded and loud and that sometimes employees simply have a bad day. So yesterday we wanted to try it again. We had reserved a table outside. As we were just getting in the door, it started to rain quite heavily, so we left the entrance area and walked towards the counter so that the visitors from outside could all come in. A staff member then began assigning everyone new tables inside. However, he didn't start with us (we were almost at the front), but distributed everyone else first. That didn't bother us at first because we weren't under any time pressure. But when he had served the last people in line, he simply walked away, even though we were obviously waiting in line too and were basically standing in the middle of the room (if he missed us, it's really a mystery to us how). We then went to the counter and asked another employee if there was still a table available, we had reserved, then we were told no, only the counter seats (which were currently occupied) were still free. We then waited about 5 minutes before we decided to take the pizzas with us because it didn't look like there would be a seat for us soon (that was already 20 minutes after our actual reservation). As already said, we understand that a restaurant can be busy and sometimes unexpected things (such as sudden heavy rain) can arise. However, we are of the opinion that a good restaurant (or the employees) should, in addition to delicious food, also be able to react appropriately to such situations and not break out into total chaos, let alone forget/overlook customers. We can recommend Pino's delicious pizzas to everyone, but we recommend either using the delivery service or, best of all, taking the pizzas away so you can enjoy them at home instead of having to endure this uncoordinated service.

Would like to write something about food. I can not. My reservation, which I made a week before, was irrelevant. We couldn't be offered a suitable table because the tables were already taken in 20 minutes. Suggestion: we should eat indoors at 30 degrees. There were enough tables available outside. Question: why do I make a reservation if this reservation is not taken seriously? If someone else has made a reservation for half an hour later on the same day, why can't they sit inside? Absolute service disappointment. We then left.

Beer from Italy is nice, but it doesn't have to be for me. I actually don't like pizza with wide crusts. But each cut was made so that the edge was also covered. It tasted delicious and wasn't dry.

We reserved a table online and that worked well. The pizzas are really excellent and all the service staff were very friendly. Some orders were simply forgotten and only came after repeated inquiries. That's not a bad thing, but as a guest you quickly take things like that personally. All in all a very nice evening, I think a little bit that Pino is a victim of his own success.

The pizzas are really good. However, we have noticed for a long time that the price-performance ratio for the starters is no longer right. The Gnocco Fritto, for example, is only half the portion (at the same price) compared to about half a year ago. The arancini for 9€ are 3 mini balls with a hint of ragu and 4 olives, which we don't think is justified either in terms of taste or price. But service is okay.

I recently ate the "Carprese" pizza. It's an incredibly tasty pizza, which is probably due to the good ingredients. The male waitress is very accommodating. After a few weeks I ate the “Salame” pizza. It wasn't to my taste, but still tasty. I didn't like that the pizza topping was a bit runny and therefore not quite crispy.

We had reserved a table outside at 8:30 p.m., arrived on time and the staff at the entrance told us it would take a while. We sat there for half an hour and no employee came to us to tell us anything or inform us about the current status of our table. After such a long wait, of course we left. It would be nice if the staff were a bit more considerate and communicative with the guests…

The pizza from Pino is hands down my favorite in Würzburg. Unfortunately, I've had issues with reservations on two occasions. While the girl at the front genuinely tried to resolve the situation, some of the other staff were quite unprofessional in handling it... :/

I was very excited for my dinner at Pino, because all of my friends said very good things about the spot and the food. We booked a table for 5 outside for 20:30. However after more than 20 minutes our table wasn’t ready. I can only say I’m extremely disappointed as the reservation was as well a birthday celebration for three people in our party. Employees managed the situation poorly and we didn’t know if we should still wait outside or find a plan b for dinner.

Tiramisu was not tasty, too moist and pistachio cream very artificial. The pizza was okay. We waited over half an hour for the pizzas. Tiramisu came quicker than espresso, which was also weird. When I asked the woman if espresso was still coming, she said: "Yes, I think so," I didn't think that was a good answer at all. Wouldn't come here a second time.

We had reserved a table in advance and were able to spontaneously increase the number on the same day. The location is very convenient to transport and yet quiet. There is an outdoor area. The food is delicious and the pizzas are delicious. Prices are slightly higher than similar restaurants. Toilets were clean. You could pay individually.

A short version: My wife and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary and had a reservation for 6:30 p.m. The pizza arrived at 7:55 p.m. and at 8:20 p.m. we were asked ("Unfortunately we have to ask you to leave now") to give up the table - outrageous! So long waiting times, no Italian atmosphere, just mass processing! Pizza but delicious! Other guests also waited so long for their food. The question was asked several times. Nobody came and informed about the situation. Bad host! Not a nice experience! I don't have to have it again.

Unfortunately we probably caught the wrong evening. Over an hour wait for the food. The service team generally seemed very overwhelmed and drinks were sometimes forgotten. When we paid, we were told that the oven probably wasn't working properly - tell us that straight away, then we might be more understanding. The pizza itself was good, but according to our taste it could have been seasoned a little more intensely.

I had a wonderful evening, with very tasty food, very friendly people who served the food and drinks and an experience. If you are passionate about food, wine and nice people, this is the place for you.

Yes, it was full, but if we agreed directly that we would wait outside and left a name for calls, I would assume that this would be implemented. After 50 minutes of waiting, when we decided to ask, we got a cold, flaky pizza with a more than subpar taste. It's lucky that my partner accepted it, I would have either asked for fresh pizza or my money back.

Very disappointing! We reserved a table outside. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but there wasn't really an alternative. We were supposed to be seated at the designated table, but it was soaking wet and not covered. Then “a table became available” and it became two small tables for 9! People pushed together. There would be room for 6 people to eat, but not 9 people. Although these were under one umbrella, they were absolutely ridiculous. The restaurant management has completely failed. They should have contacted us and offered us an alternative or left it to us to decide whether we wanted to come or not. Unfortunately, the staff were completely overwhelmed by the circumstances and ultimately left us alone. Apparently new guests are not important for the Pino and are fobbed off like mass-produced goods...

Antipasti and pizza MEGA. But what is absolutely incomprehensible to me is that there is no cappuccino?! Isn't it normal that one of the best pizzerias has a portafilter machine?

We were here for the first time today and I can already say - it definitely won't be the last time! The pizza tastes delicious and stands out from other pizzerias/Italian restaurants. We ordered 2 pizzas, 1 of them was the wrong type. They gave 2 aperol and the additional pizza for free for keeping us waiting. Plus they were so gooood !! We will definitely come back and recommend this place :)

The food is good, but very salty. The ambience is more pleasant in the Deutsche Bahn on-board restaurant. It's also a shame that you feel like you're in a canteen/canteen, true to the motto: If you've eaten, you should leave quickly (even though the reservation was for two hours, we were asked after about 60 minutes if we didn't want to). would like to leave soon as the next guests are expected).

Nice visit during Germany's European Championship game. The workload for the service and kitchen was crazy, so I fully understand the one-hour waiting time. Otherwise everyone was really friendly and attentive. Luckily there was football going on anyway. And Pino really does everything he can to ensure that everyone notices the game, thanks to the numerous televisions. But here's a very small point of criticism: maybe it's possible to synchronize the televisions so that you don't hear from the guests outside as soon as a goal is scored before you see it yourself 😬 About the pizza: The dough is great and so is the selection of pizzas, the quality of the ingredients really impressed me, it's all close to what I ate in Naples myself. But… I had a Calabrese pizza and was disappointed with how extremely overloaded it ended up being. As a result, I had very little of the delicious dough and instead tons of chili and spring onions (?? I would leave out the spring onions completely!!). The remaining ingredients (tomato sauce, nduja), which were all great in their own right, were also covered up far too much. Things are handled differently in Italy when it comes to toppings, sometimes less is simply more!! Overall, for me, Pino unfortunately only comes in second place in Würzburg behind Pepe, although I actually see the dough in Pino slightly ahead without the huge amount of toppings. Pizzas are amazing. The athmosphere us also great, you can come in the day time or in the evening. The service is also very nice and fast. The tiramisu also looks amazing but we didn’t have space after the pizza. For sure, we will come again to try that.

In PINO you have to be patient until the food comes. But the wait is definitely worth it! The pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven and has a crispy base and a juicy topping. The ingredients are all fresh and of high quality. Conclusion: If you are looking for the best pizza in Würzburg, PINO is the right place for you!

The pizzas are very tasty. I picked one at random and it was awesome. The sweet pizza with pistachios is also a dream. It's a bit overpriced, but the ingredients are really good.

I was very happy because of the many positive recommendations, but unfortunately I was becoming more and more disappointed by the minute. We made a reservation at 7 p.m. and got our spot straight away. After our order still hadn't arrived at 8:30 p.m., when we asked, we were told that they had probably forgotten to place the order. It can happen, after waiting another 20 minutes our pizza finally arrived. I was really looking forward to my Bruschetta Burrata but was very disappointed when I saw the onions, which I am allergic to. On all other pizzas red onions are explicitly included as a topping, but here they were apparently included in the tomato mix... by tomato mix I probably mean something different than Pino. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat my pizza and there was no accomodation from the restaurant. Unfortunately a big disappointment.

Definitely the best pizza north of the Alps. Nice service, fair price. Absolute must.

In a nutshell: Fantastic pizzas! On my next visit to Würzburg I'll try other variations. And yes, quality has its price - but I'm happy to pay it. (05/2024)

Pizza is great although the dough was a bit difficult to digest (quick or too short leavening). Nonetheless ingredients are the best you can find around, even for the antipasto wich was amazing (prosciutto crudo is sliced too thick for the Italian standard but who cares). So, great food all together. Service... Meh. 2 hours for 1 antipasto and 2 pizza with an half full pizzeria is a bit too long for me. Drinks are ok-ish. Birra Moretti is a classic, spritz was definitely too weak but the wine was good. Not a huge selection of this last one of you want just a glass (0.2 cl as German standard). Will I go back? Surely. Vegan options? Yep! Worth a visit? Absolutely. Just take your (their) time...

Personal and cute. The stalls could be a little more welcoming. The order was taken right away and the drink was brought very quickly. I waited a little over 20 minutes for the pizza, but it was worth it. The Formaggi Bianca was very good. It didn't quite remind me of a Neapolitan pizza: the base was too thick and the pizza was quite small, but maybe the oven here is just small :) Or maybe I don't know enough about it. In any case, there is a Napoli shirt hanging on the wall, but I have searched in vain for a portrait, a shrine or a Maradona shirt. A sacrilege, some would say.

We had a reservation at 8:30 p.m. and were able to sit down at ~8:50 p.m. We ordered immediately afterwards ~ 9 p.m., and the pizza arrived at 10:10 p.m. However, the pizza was very tasty, which is why it was such a shame that it somehow didn't work out that way outside.

Attention: pizza comes hot out of the oven and takes a while to reach you... Then the plates are cold and the dough is very thin... if you then order a lot on top, it's Minestone (lukewarm Italian soup)
