A very sad portion of cold fried potatoes with veal schnitzel and sauce bearnaise which weren't a real sauce. Tasted like mayonnaise and was cold. The Schnitzel was ok.

Four adults and two children were more than satisfied! Both the fish and meat dishes were delicious! The children's special requests were kindly accommodated, so everyone will gladly return! Thank you again!

The atmosphere and service are really nice. The food, however, is not so good. I had a whole plaice, which was fried to death and tasted of nothing. Worst fish I have had in many years. Their schnitzel is served with bearnaise, in itself a strange combination, which is not made better by the fact that it has nothing to do with bearnaise. Can't recommend this place if you are looking for just okay cuisine.

If you go to "Piet im Fischmarkt" with the same expectations for food and service as "Piet Henningsen," you'll unfortunately be disappointed. We absolutely loved "Piet Henningsen," but we probably won't be visiting "Piet im Fischmarkt" again anytime soon. Any criticism we voiced was simply brushed aside with a smile.

A very nice restaurant right on the harbor. The food was excellent, but the service was a bit lacking in focus. We couldn't enjoy any more drinks because they simply weren't offered. Nevertheless, it was a very nice evening in Flensburg.

My wife and I dropped in spontaneously, well before dinner service. Despite the restaurant being empty, the staff informed us that everything was reserved, but that we could find a table for a short time. The crab soup was tasty, a bit too thick, probably from being reheated repeatedly. We both had fish and chips for our main course. The cod was thoroughly cooked, dry, and bland. The fries were unsalted. There was too little aioli foam. What a shame. The location, with its view of the harbor and Flensburg, is magnificent.

I've known the restaurant scene here for 25 years. The food has always been good. A lot has changed since the coronavirus pandemic. While I used to choose the Italian restaurant on the fjord promenade, it had become too expensive for me – as it did for my friends. They warmly recommended this restaurant instead. And rightly so! Everything is just right here: the location and view on the quay, the interior, very friendly, charming service, good value for money, and excellent food and wine. I recommend the "Flensburg Fish Plate" with wine pairing. For dessert, we had the "Flensburg Rumtopf." Everything tasted absolutely delicious. For a Saturday lunchtime, the restaurant was well-filled and the atmosphere was pleasant. We're already looking forward to our next visit. We paid €137.00 for three people.

A beautiful restaurant. Very polite, friendly, and attentive staff with excellent expertise. The entire place, including the restrooms, is spotless. The food, drinks, and desserts are fantastic. Our little dog 🐕 is also very welcome here. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation. We feel truly at home here. Best wishes from us.

The view of the harbor and the old town is definitely the deciding factor here. The food is also absolutely fantastic: very tasty, nicely presented, and generous portions. The opening hours are also great!

We were there yesterday at lunchtime as tourists. Apart from the colorful "Pee-Poop Land" sign, which was inappropriate and completely out of keeping with the overall ambiance, everything else was simply perfect. We'd love to come back anyway.

Beautiful restaurant right on the water with a view of Flensburg. Delicious food! The service was very attentive at first, but after we finished our main course, we were barely noticed. Getting the dessert menu was difficult, and placing our order was almost impossible; we lost interest afterward.

I highly recommend Piet at the fish market. I've been here several times, including at lunchtime. I was completely satisfied every time. I can only give the Finkenwerder-style plaice a 5⭐️. From the lunch menu, I was impressed by the Husum Rump Steak Royal. Vegetarians will also find plenty to enjoy here. Today I want to enjoy the Flensburg fish platter with three different types of fish fillet on mussel meat. More on that later.

The two of us were there around 4:30 p.m. For starters, we ordered Büsum crab soup and eel with scrambled eggs. Instead of crab soup, we received a vegetable soup that was supposed to be bouillabaisse, which was okay for €12. My eel was very good. They certainly could have swapped the soup, but we didn't want to wait any longer, as the table was being rebooked at 6:00 p.m. The main courses were salmon fillet with braised cucumbers and duchess potatoes, and a Flensburg fish plate with fried potatoes. My wife's salmon fillet was good, but the Flensburg fish plate was a disappointment: the fish was overcooked, and the fried potatoes were cold and swimming in fat.

We've actually never eaten such good fish (plaice and Dutch herring fillet). Friendly staff and a very nice chef. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Flensburg.

Up until now, we've always been completely thrilled with the whole package...now we arrived on Monday (September 22nd) without a reservation, but again with great anticipation, and were very kindly assigned a table. There were hardly any guests left; we arrived around 8 p.m. Our order was taken quite quickly, and then the fiasco began. At first, it wasn't clear to us which of the men was in charge of our table, so we started with the appetizer without drinks, after asking for cutlery. After asking again, the bread for the fish soup arrived, but untoasted. What a pity. Shortly after, the drinks followed. Up until then, everything was still within reason; they're all just human. Then the main course, which was served while we were eating the appetizer. Again, no cutlery, so we waved and begged again...then they were handed it to us, and they thought the plaice with bones would be coming soon. Nope. Waved and begged again. The highlight of the entire evening was the billing. We paid €95.00 in cash, including a €7.00 tip, and asked for €5.00 change...and he was nowhere to be seen. Only after asking the other waiter did we get the change with a terse apology. All in all, it made a very unpleasant impression. One comment from us would be that this service team should read the first page of their menu; then the evening would have been enjoyable and complete for everyone involved. First of all, the location is dreamy and the ambiance is stylish. The service was a bit overlooked, but very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The seating is comfortable, with a stunning view of Flensburg. I find the restroom sign (Pee-Poop Land) inappropriate and tasteless for the ambiance! The cucumber salad is a disgrace; it's tiny!

Yesterday I spent my last evening in Flensburg and wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner. I'd been looking forward to the "Fried Plaice Büsum Style" for days. However, due to the price of crab, the price of the dish has been raised from €29 to €42. It would be nice if this were also adjusted on the website to avoid any shock. I ordered the plaice anyway and was unfortunately disappointed by the dish itself. The plaice was dry. The potatoes were dry. And the dish as a whole was dry. I mentioned this to the server, but unfortunately, there was no accommodating response, which is to be expected from such a fine restaurant. It's a shame I went home yesterday with a bad feeling.

The fish platter with vegetables and fried potatoes. The potatoes were covered in oil, the vegetables consisted of strips of carrots and mostly onions, the fish was ordered until translucent, and the salmon was unfortunately so raw that it was inedible. The waitress was kind enough to remove my meal from the bill. Maybe we were just unlucky that day. But when we ordered the fish, the waiter asked for medium-rare...which struck us as odd, and we had to repeat that we had ordered two fish platters.

Delicious food, no question, but: The bill included more than we consumed, two items in fact. The waiter acted unfazed, corrected the receipt, and didn't even apologize. Unfortunately, the starter soups had to be reheated.

I ordered plaice with fried potatoes and was disappointed. The plaice looked delicious and quite large, but it wasn't freshly caught; it had been thawed (watery and flavorless). The fried potatoes were swimming in fat, which was a shame. As an apology, I was given an espresso.

I was there with my wife for my birthday the other day and was very pleased. We sat right next to the open kitchen, where the food was very clean and professional. It was a lovely atmosphere with a fantastic view. The food was excellent. We had a fish and a meat dish. The waitress, a young man, was extremely attentive and deserved a 7-star rating. We would happily eat there again.

You receive excellent advice on all dishes, which makes choosing even easier and more enjoyable. As the restaurant is very popular, there may be a short wait for a table during peak times – so we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance. Overall, Pite offers a flawless experience: clean, friendly, and with a magnificent view. An absolute must for anyone looking for first-class dining in Flensburg!

Our expectations were high, but unfortunately we were quite disappointed. I ordered fish and chips. There were various types of fish, but not only were the small sardines hard-fried, but also the delicate white fish, which was quite dry. The homemade chips were crispy, and the best part of the plate was the advertised foam that came in the egg cup; there could have been a bit more to oil the fish. Nicely presented, but for the price of €26, I would have expected at least perfect fish. My friends had a fish soup, which was OK; the third dish was a bit too salty... The waiter offered my friend an espresso to compensate... hmmmm... Perhaps we were unlucky, but unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Great restaurant, cool atmosphere. A great addition to Flensburg harbor. The only thing I could criticize is that they serve their coffee like it was in 1850. Who still has napkin rings these days? Cool guys who provide great service.

Piet is a truly fantastic place to eat delicious fish. Everything is just right here. We had a soup to start with, followed by a plaice "Müllerin" (traditional German dish) and a plaice "Finkenwerder" (traditional German dish). The location right on the fjord is also fantastic. If you want good fish, this is the place for you. Not exactly cheap, but very tasty! Great atmosphere and very friendly service. We were missing the fried potatoes with our fish plate (- one star), but the person who ordered it didn't want to come forward, and we were a larger group...

We absolutely cannot understand the negative comments in this forum. Because: We are extremely satisfied with the first-class and very friendly service and the delicious, tasty food. We had prawns in garlic oil as a starter, and the Flensburg fish platter and fish and chips as main courses. Everything was impeccable. Nothing to complain about. We'd gladly go back!

I have to say, unfortunately, that we were disappointed overall. That the only vegan option that evening was out – no problem, it happens. However, the fact that the fish soup contained little fish and was a bit too salty, that we waited almost an hour for our main courses, and that the vegan "substitute meal" consisting of mashed potatoes, fried vegetables, and fresh vegetables, while nicely prepared, was of really poor quality (tasteless olives and tomatoes, spoiled peppers, and oily eggplant), left a stale taste in my mouth. For a relatively expensive meal (€140 for four people), I simply expect good quality from the ingredients. And that simply wasn't the case here. What a shame. The service was perfectly fine, and the view and ambiance are of course nice – but if the basics aren't right, then, in my opinion, that doesn't mean much.

We can't understand how so many positive comments came about. The dishes we were served that evening were the worst food we've ever eaten in a restaurant. The food was completely oversalted. The fish and meat dishes were so dry and disappointing in taste that the overpriced food was completely unjustified. I highly recommend anyone in Flensburg to eat elsewhere; there are numerous good alternatives. The friendliness of the so-called shift manager also left a lot to be desired. His excuses were just as dry and meaningless as the food itself. Even the ambiance can't save this sinking ship; keep up the good work.

The fish dishes look better than they taste. I was disappointed. It looked good, but was a bit bland. The Salzkartoffelen had no salt whatsoever added. I would have liked some kind of sauce, as it all became a bit dry after a few bites. Wine was good. It seems a fancier place than it actually is.

We were served by a blonde waitress, who has so far put a smile on my face with her friendly and cheerful manner. An absolutely first-class restaurant! The food is outstanding – both the fish and steak are perfectly prepared and of the highest quality. The side dishes also leave nothing to be desired. A very nice location and friendly staff, but the food doesn't live up to the high ratings at all. The fish is tough and dry, and the vegetables are massively overseasoned. The soup had the consistency of baby food and a skin had already formed. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is completely out of sync.

We were there today with 11 people. Unfortunately, my linguine was so greasy in the sauce that it was practically inedible. My husband's plaice was almost raw on the sides. The service was also less than perfect. No one came by themselves. Nevertheless, we were charged the full price. No concessions whatsoever. What a shame!

It's best to reserve a table in advance. It's quite busy, and rightly so. Great atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and delicious food.

Very mediocre. We received our starter and then our aperitif. The main course was a combination of plaice fillet and salmon with a huge pile of mussel vegetables and lots of chopped carrots. The stray mussels in this vegetable tasted like nothing. It was unclear whether the sauce was cream or mustard. The hostess also doesn't handle negative feedback, and the bill of €141.50 was also a huge disappointment. Not again. Too bad.

The salmon royale came without the king prawns. The dish was thus reduced to a small piece of salmon and four half potatoes. The plaice was dry and very bland. At least the service was friendly and attentive.

Visit on August 8, 2025 … 8 p.m. … The restaurant was busy. Luckily, we had made a reservation in time (a birthday table for two by the window). We were assigned a small, individual table in the middle. Upon request, we were moved to a high table by the window. That was the end of our positive impressions. We waited about 1.5 hours for our main course. No one bothered to clear the dishes. We would have liked to have made more money (more wine and dessert), but the waiter ignored us. After raising our complaints at the checkout, an employee apologized, citing a "lack of staff" as the reason... We're giving the place a second chance and hope for improvement. Marion Jörgensen

A menu for all tastes, beautifully prepared, presented, and served. The best restaurant in town, not expensive, highly recommended, with parking 100 meters away.

If you want to eat fish, this is the place to be. The cod and fish platter were delicious and well-prepared. The service is exceptionally friendly, and special requests are happily accommodated. We were able to enjoy the sunset on the beautiful terrace. Thank you for this wonderful evening!

We had fish and chips and were very disappointed. For the price, you'd expect more. The chips were lukewarm and the fish bone dry. After we complained, we were offered a free dessert.

Where do I start? MEGA! I actually wanted to go to the fish market, but it was already closed, so I went to the restaurant instead. Great outdoor seating right by the water, very friendly staff, and a clear menu. The main courses were so beautifully presented and simply delicious. This won't be my last visit. Six of us ate at Piet today. I highly recommend this restaurant. The menu has a wide selection, with a particularly large number of fish dishes. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. From the restaurant, you have a fantastic view of the fjord. I would especially like to mention the free parking in front of the restaurant. Finally, no more hours spent searching for a parking space.

We went there for lunch, and it was really nice and delicious! Whether it was fish or meat, everything was delicious.

My pregnant wife was denied access to the restroom. Even though we weren't guests that day, it was impossible! That was the end of the store for us.

We stopped overnight in Flensburg on our way to Denmark. While strolling along the fjord, we passed Piet's fish market, and since the sun was shining and there was a free table on the terrace, we spontaneously decided to have dinner there. Everyone was very friendly, drinks and appetizers arrived quickly, and it was delicious! After that, however, we waited an hour for the fish, the restaurant emptied noticeably, and I'm firmly convinced our order was simply forgotten. When I asked the obvious supervisor or manager (?) to check with the kitchen, there was no response, even though he appeared on the terrace several times. The friendly young waitress had also been on the terrace several times beforehand; there was no stress there! How could such a previously attentive waitress fail to notice that guests are waiting forever? When the plaice finally arrived, we were unfortunately very disappointed. The fish was completely unseasoned and dry. I had scrambled eggs and crab on top of the fish, the egg completely flavorless and dripping with fat. The cucumber salad served with it was tiny. The drop in quality between the starter and the main course is incomprehensible to me! My message to the crew: urgently improve communication with guests! Apologize when an order is forgotten! Offer a small compensation! And give the chef a good dressing down! Then this is surely a great restaurant.

The old restaurant was previously on the other side, and we now go to the new one. Fresh fish and very tasty, hearty food. We will recommend it and would be happy to come back.

I can't confirm some of the negative reviews. After a quick phone call, I got a seat without any problems. The food was very tasty (Büsum-style plaice) and the service was good and attentive. I only liked the ambiance better at Piet Henningsen, as it was more rustic. However, I can understand the reasons for the move to the other side of the harbor. Nevertheless, I could only give the ambiance three stars.

Piet Henigsen was THE fish restaurant of all time. We even celebrated our daughter's confirmation there. Now it gets a solid 6. The fried potatoes taste rancid, mushy, and barely seasoned. Squeezing lemon slices over the fish is a huge mess and a mess. In the old restaurant, they used to serve lemon wedges or at least lemon boats. The cucumber salad was completely oversalted. The waitress had promised to deduct this from the bill, but unfortunately, that didn't happen, and it led to a long argument with the waiter. What a shame!!! Piet Henigsen was the best fish restaurant back then. I won't be seeing this place again, and I won't recommend it to anyone!

The last two visits were disappointing. After reserving a nice wedding anniversary table for two, we were wedged against the wall, even though the restaurant was only half full during our stay. The medium steak was overdone. Today the indifferent service was striking. You have to ask for pepper, and you also have to request a knife for cutting the long asparagus. The food is now only average, with a lot of onions in the pasta. Unusual. Particularly disappointing: only three tables inside were occupied, while everything outside was empty. A family with two children was turned away because they only wanted a drink.

Not recommended! We asked for a table and were immediately "brushed away." Unfortunately, there wasn't enough space as there was a group there. No notice or anything like that. If it took longer, no problem, but not like this. But this hospitality is well known. I would have liked to write something about the food, etc., but we just didn't get around to it!
