I can't say anything about the food. We had a White Russian here late at night. It was exactly how it was supposed to be!! Service super nice and quick! Even this late in the evening, cleanliness is still important here. This should be particularly praised. Everything fits wonderfully. We would love to come back.

An absolute highlight of this restaurant. We ate there as part of an overnight stay at the Hotel Hafenspeicher. Great location and architecture, clean and simply beautifully done. The employee left nothing to be desired and looked after us in an outstanding way that we have rarely experienced and we are used to good guest service. Absolutely top. The dishes are a poem and prepared by the kitchen at a star level. If we come back again, only here at Pier23, that's for sure...

Got stuck in Leer on our way home to Groningen via train from Berlin. We were starving and we found Pier 23. Their pulled pork sandwich is easily the best BBQ I've found in Europe. It was undeniably good. My wife raved about their burger on the menu as well. Really happy that we found this place at such a late hour on a Friday evening.

The restaurant offers many nice seating options. The food is very delicious and can only be recommended. The employees take care of everything and drinks and food are always there straight away. They have a large selection of food and also very tasty drinks.

We stopped for some cocktails on a quiet Sunday afternoon and were really impressed with everything we had. The starter salad with the raspberry dressing was delicious and was a good sized portion.

It's a nice restaurant, but the sweet potato fries were a bit too brittle and black for our taste, the burgers themselves were ok. The view itself from the restaurant was very beautiful and calm.

Beautifully decorated restaurant, right on the harbor, with a corresponding atmosphere. Friendly, courteous service and delicious food, stylishly prepared. But you shouldn't come here very hungry, as the portions are definitely too small unless you have planned a 3-course menu and the corresponding budget. All in all, I can definitely recommend this restaurant :)

Whether you get good food or just prepared food depends on the working day and other factors unknown to the visitor. Sometimes it's really really good, but during the week (in the evening) it's usually beautifully decorated but ultimately not great. However, the prices are at a high level, so that can be criticized. I find fish with a side dish to be far too expensive (not less than 40 EUR), they never manage to do the obligatory fillet of beef (always too well done) and that's also a statement in terms of price. The menu is attractive in itself, but the prices should be commensurate with the quality. The ambience is very good (for Leer), the service of course varies, but recently it has been consistently good. Selection of drinks is completely okay, training of the (bar) staff can still be improved. It's a good but expensive restaurant in Leer with ultimately the possibility of surprises in both directions with the food - it ranges from surprisingly good to surprisingly mediocre.

A great evening with good food... perfect service and a nice ambience. As a starter we chose sushi 🍣 and it was excellent. The main course was zander and red snapper, accompanied by a very good white wine...absolutely delicious. Definitely visit and try.

Every year we only come to Leer for one evening at Pier23, around 250km away, and we are always thrilled with both the service and the varied food. The catch of the day in particular, with the choice of preparation method, was particularly impressive every year. We have already made reservations again this year

Very nice location, very attentive and nice staff, the service is incomparably good! The food is outstanding! It's always fresh, unusual and there are always changing cards. Special requests and drink surprises are absolutely no problem for these locals. We have been regular guests for many years and will remain so. We go to the restaurant at least once a month. Our son (5) also loves going to Pier 23, he wants to go here every day🥰. We look forward to our next visit and hope that this great restaurant will stay with us for a long time. Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to the entire team at Pier 23. 👍

As part of our bike tour, we stayed at the Hotel Hafenspeicher and had a delicious dinner at Pier 23. The Peking duck and sushi were really good.

Feedback after 2 visits to the restaurant. The first time it was very well attended. However, it took 1.5 hours from ordering to serving. On our last visit we were served quickly. However, I found the selection to be a bit thin. The ambience is very harmonious and high quality.

The ambience is great. You immediately feel comfortable indoors. Unfortunately, the outside area is a bit dull. No umbrellas, no nice decorations. The staff was really nice. The food was rather mixed. Of the 3 components, 2 were very good and one was rather bland. The quality was okay for the price, but a bit low. With a starter the whole thing would have been different, but then it would have been €40. There was previously bread with oil. The oil was delicious, the bread was unfortunately a simple, run-of-the-mill baguette. You should look for a good baker who bakes rustic ciabatta bread or something similar.

Very nice service, very good food, which justifies the price. The restaurant has no influence on the choice of customers, but some of them are very reserved. I'd love to come back, even just for a drink outside and a dessert, which unfortunately I couldn't manage as the sea bream was more than enough for me. We had a lovely evening.

We were so pleased that we ate there two evenings in a row. The ambience is great, the food tastes excellent, the staff is professional and totally friendly! Everything comes together here to ensure the guest is completely satisfied. The menu is not particularly large, but it offers a diverse selection. The daily offering of fresh fish is particularly commendable. Priced at the higher end, but completely reasonable when you consider the performance. Pier 23 lands in the top 3 of my best restaurants of the last few years! Finally, I have to give a big shout out to the staff, we felt very welcome!

We were there from June 5th. until June 6th, 2024 (AC/DC CONCERT) in Amsterdam.... On the way home we took a short break in Leer (East Frisia) and discovered the Pier 23 restaurant. Very nice restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The menu has a good selection of food, which can also be easily adapted or combined. On the menu you can choose between a few side dishes and give each dish an individual taste. The food was very tasteful... The prices are fair and the price-performance ratio is completely ok. We did not regret it. Great service, nice staff and, to our regret, time was on our backs. Anyway, thank you again for the service. We enjoyed being here. If you're nearby and have an appetite, slow down! We will definitely do it again!

Wow...this restaurant really looks beautiful from the outside and you won't be disappointed inside either. The waiter was very accommodating and very nice. We found it totally new that the waiter brought our food, brought a small foldable table and with a perfect quick movement set it up at our table to place the food on it before handing it over. We've never seen anything like that, wow...great...great, our waiter was really into it. Thank you for the good food and such a great atmosphere. We felt very comfortable.

The overall concept of the restaurant is convincing: pleasant ambience, good and central location, excellent food - the chef is a true magician - a rich drinks menu including aperitifs and very friendly and courteous service. Nothing stands in the way of a successful evening at Pier 23! We like to come back again and again.

If you're looking for a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you. The view is great and so is the building. Even the service is great. Unfortunately, the food just can't keep up. On our first visit we both took burgers that you can put together specifically. The buns were a bit dry (almost rusk-like) and the pattie... well, that could be better. The best thing was the wooden box in which you put the plastic bottles for ketchup and mayo. So ala upscale gastronomy with snack bar charm. The second time there was fish. My wife ordered mussels. Every now and then I just thought, what makes the toilet drain smell so bad? Unfortunately that was the mussel sauce. It still surprises me to this day that my wife even ate it. All in all, the taste was always a bit “off track” and one would write in the certificate “They made a good effort...” It's a shame, the prices and everything around it would have led us to expect something much better. But well, as long as no one complains (we haven't either) it will probably stay that way.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, absolut leckeres Essen mit gehobenem Preisniveau, welches jedoch durch die Qualität der Speisen absolut gerechtfertigt ist. Die Zwiebelsuppe ist fantastisch. Seeteufel mit Reis und asiatischem Gemüse ausgesprochen lecker. Ebenso die Variation an Sushi, die etwas vom gewohnten abweicht.

There's nothing to complain about here. We had salmon tartare and octopus as a starter. Both starters were really a hit! For the main course we had the sea bass and halibut with medit. Vegetables and gnocchi. You could choose the side dishes! The quality of the fish was unique and the vegetables were great. I have never had sea bass fried so perfectly. Price performance plus the super good advice from Philipp (waiter) everything fit together. Thank you very much and we'd love to come back!

Food and price ok, mussels in white wine very good, the beef tartare OK too (although it was served in warm marrow with leftover marrow, that didn't matter to me, but...). Service was a bit stereotypically friendly but not really interested in the guest, that's how we felt. Then there is the 'Catch of the Day' fish day menu with around seven species of fish, certainly not all caught on this Good Friday, oh well. Overall, a very stilted atmosphere in my opinion, but as I said, the mussels were good, the only thing missing was the lemon water for the mussel soup fingers. Location of the restaurant is superb.

Great, fairly new hotel in the maritime, beautiful East Frisian town of Leer. Best location on the inner harbor and very close to the city plus good restaurants and outdoor places to linger, really good.

Anlässlich meines 75 jährigen Geburtstages war ich mit meiner Familie im Restaurant Pier 23. Ich war mehr als positiv überrascht. Das vom Chef zusammengestellte Menü war überaus lecker. Der komplette Abend wurde mit hervorragend Weinen begleitet. Das geschulte und sehr freundliche Service Personal rundete diesen wunderbaren Abend ab.

Gegessen mit 9 Personen im Rahmen eines geschäftlichen, aber festlichen Abendessens. Durch einen Tisch, der etwas isoliert vom Rest des Restaurants war, konnten wir Tischreden halten, ohne die anderen Gäste zu stören. Angenehme Betreuung am Tisch, eine gute Küche und gute Kommunikation bei der Vorbereitung unseres Besuchs.

Sind durch die guten Bewertungen auf das Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Alleine die riesen Auswahl an Fisch die als Fang des Tages angeboten wird, hat uns begeistert. Dorade, Loup de mer, Rotbarsch, Knurrhahn, Miesmuscheln, Steinbutt und sogar Seeigel waren in der Auslage. Wir haben uns gefühlt wie irgendwo am Mittelmeer nur das Wetter war anders. Ich habe mich vorweg für die Jacobsmuscheln entschieden und danach den Steinbutt als Filet. Alles sehr lecker und erstklassig zubereitet. Für einen Nachtisch hatte ich leider keinen Platz mehr, aber meine Begleitung hat sich noch was von dem hausgemachten Eis gegönnt. Super Abend!!

Food lukewarm and generally too expensive. Friendly criticism will not be addressed. If you have the “insolence” to complain about something, the boss will come personally and you will be “chastised” as a guest. Please don't get the idea that you want to take food with you if there is anything left over... then all hell will break loose.

Ganz klare Empfehlung! Dieses Restaurant ist hervorragend geeignet, um seine Mittagspause mit Geschäftsterminen zu ergänzen. Sehr zuvorkommende Bewirtung! Auch das Essen ist hervorzuheben - nicht nur Mittags. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die persönliche Betreuung des Kochs (ebenfalls Geschäftsführung). Dies ist heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich - auch wenn es bestimmt nicht zum Tagesgeschäft gehört. Wir kommen wieder!

Meiner Meinung nach das beste Essen der Umgebung gepaart mit einem schönen und modernen Ambiente und damit perfekt geeignet für schöne Abende zu zweit. Sehr empfehlenswert sind hier die verschiedenen Sushi Variationen.

Als begeisterter Gast des Restaurants Pier 23 in Leer möchte ich meine aufrichtige 5-Sterne-Bewertung abgeben. Der Lunch mit den köstlichen Burgern war ein echtes Highlight, ebenso wie das exzellente Rindertatar als Vorspeise und das saftige Rinderfilet als Hauptgang am Abend. Die Qualität der Speisen war herausragend und die Präsentation ansprechend. Nicht zu vergessen der perfekt zubereitete Whiskey Sour zum Feierabend, der den Abend wunderbar abrundete. Das Ambiente war gemütlich und einladend, das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Pier 23 ist definitiv ein Ort, den ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen kann und ich freue mich schon darauf, bald wieder vorbeizuschauen!

Wir waren schon öfter im Pier da meine bessere Hälfte für das Sushi dort sterben könnte. Ich steh zwar nicht auf Sushi aber bisher fand ich immer leicht etwas das auch mich kulinarisch mehr als befriedigt hat. Dieses mal hat sich die Küche selbst übertroffen: mein Tartar wurde ganz liebevoll auf einem MARKKNOCHEN serviert! Das Mark hat war perfekt dazu. Aber dann der Hauptgang: drei unterschiedliche Wildstücke mit so nem Tintenfischarm (hab den richtigen Namen vergessen) war einfach unschlagbar! Ich frage mich wie man auf so was kommt... Wir überlegen dieses WE wieder hin zu gehen. Das der Service immer sehr herzlich und aufmerksam ist weis sicher jeder der schon mal da war. Bis bald Pier23😘

I'm lucky enough to be there regularly for work and I always reward myself there in the evenings when I finish! Just great. The sushi is exceptional. The “catch of the day” provides regular variety in the fish selection. The New Year’s Eve menus are also wonderful! I'm already looking forward to the next working day in Leer and the next private break there!
