We had a delicious meal at Phonix. Great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

We had personally reserved a table for nine people at the Phönix with the manager, but then found the door locked. After a quick phone call, I had to redirect my guests to the Müggenkrug (which I absolutely didn't want, as it's unbearably loud there...). I was then told on the phone that I should have made a reservation online. It's a real shame that the service there is no longer available (I remember the Phönix from a different time). The breakfast (it was definitely not a brunch) was simple and not very varied. Nevertheless, we were full.

Sunday 6:00 p.m., waited a very, very long time for the food. The starter, cream and bread, tasted good, the red wine was delicious, but unfortunately the two dishes weren't very extensive. A large plate with decorative food rims, ketchup, and very greasy. No salt or pepper on the table. Absolutely not worth the price/performance ratio. Plus point: really friendly service. We won't be back.

I was there for brunch on Sunday. The staff was super friendly and charming. The building and decor were also okay. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. It was nothing more than a standard brunch and doesn't justify the price. C.U.P. I know you can do much better.

We went for Sunday "brunch" – in our opinion, more of a breakfast, as there were no hot dishes or anything similar. The selection was a bit limited, and not everything was replenished sufficiently (e.g., dessert). The homemade salads were positive, and the service quickly brought drinks, which, nicely, were included in the price. Pancakes were also lovingly brought to our table when the waffles ran out. Nice move. Overall, the value for money isn't right here in my opinion; there are better options in Oldenburg. Otherwise, the interior is nicely decorated and not too noisy despite the large number of guests.

Simply top-notch! Service was courteous and friendly. All of the four dishes we ate were first-class in terms of taste and preparation! The schnitzel was very tasty, my beef fillet was cooked to perfection, and the side dishes and everything else were excellent! A clear recommendation! The price/performance ratio is right.

Maybe that's not entirely fair. I compare the Phoenix of today with the one of the past. Back then, it was what you'd call a cozy student bar. There were amazing baguettes and dimly lit corners, sofas for lounging, and music to match. Today, it's a well-mannered place, more like a restaurant than a bar, and if that's exactly what you're looking for or want, you're certainly in the right place. It's not my kind of place.

We were invited to a birthday brunch with a larger group. We had a lovely seat under the glass roof. The service was super friendly and accommodating, and I have to say a lot about the food. I personally have to say that I expected more based on what I was told – especially given the price. The buffet was quite small and, above all, a bit cramped and chaotically set up, so you had to find the dishes and drinks between the rolls and dessert and didn't know where to put everything. Unfortunately, there wasn't really much choice for my roll other than cheese and vegetables... but I was still full. What disappointed me was the hot buffet. There was bacon, sausages, and all kinds of eggs, but as a vegetarian who only eats eggs, waiting for the scrambled eggs and then being handed a saucer with a truly tiny portion of scrambled eggs (not even half the size of a palm) left me quite confused. So that's why I stood in line and waited? And one more thing about the birthday: we were told that on birthdays, the birthday child is entitled to a bottle of sparkling wine as a "gift," so we wanted to make that person happy – only it backfired, and the birthday child had to pay extra for it... All in all, it was a nice brunch, but in my opinion, it didn't quite live up to the standards of a "fine" restaurant like this. It was fine.

Yes, I can recommend it for brunch

Unfortunately, we realized that this lunch buffet was our last visit. As a family with two children, we wanted a delicious meal, but unfortunately, we quickly realized that the staff spoke almost no German. Which wasn't a problem. We ordered two glasses of mineral water, but we got a whole bottle. Okay... at the buffet, my husband spotted green flies. He even found green fly eggs on the raw meat. He noticed it immediately, as he works in the meat retail industry himself. He approached the staff and politely pointed it out. Unfortunately, there was no response from the staff. We were already feeling uncomfortable and wanted to pay. Of course, we inquired about the prices for the lunch buffet beforehand (€14.90). In the end, however, we were charged almost double. Apparently, the dinner buffet price applies all day on Sundays. We pulled ourselves together, but unfortunately, we were treated rudely, and after this visit, we decided not to return. Please pay attention to the food during your visit.

From the very first moment, we received a wonderful welcome and courteous service. It was an all-around wonderful evening, and we will definitely be back.

We were there for our daughters' birthdays. We had made reservations in advance and were very impressed with the food. The service was super friendly and attentive. The wine was good. I had salmon with a pumpkin crust, which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing with the celery puree and wasabi. The others were also very satisfied. We spent four days in Oldenburg and twice in the Phoenix. The food (rump steak, chicken Camenbert and cutter plaice) were exquisite. We were received and served extremely courteously; the atmosphere is cozy and informal. An absolute recommendation!

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, I had a delicious meal there in the evening with Stefanie, we had two salads and non-alcoholic wheat. There was also a nice greeting from the kitchen. Very nice. The salads were really great, we liked the atmosphere, the service staff was super friendly We'd love to go there again, keep it up!

I loved the food, I ordered the ravioli and they were delicious.

We were there for a big birthday. Great location. The room upstairs was really cozy. The staff very attentive. The food, which sounded great, was unfortunately not quite as good. The taste was sometimes very bad and it was only refilled very slowly, so you didn't have the opportunity to try everything. That was just a shame.

I celebrated my 60th birthday in the Phoenix. The “living room” on the upper floor is a great setting and wonderfully suitable for a celebration. Das Phönix ist ein Restaurant mit angenehmer Atmosphäre, nettem Personal, einer soliden Auswahl an Essen und Getränken, sowie einer relativ zentralen Lage bezogen auf die Oldenburger Innenstadt und den Hbf. bzw. ZOB von Oldenburg. Durch die Lage ist das Phönix auch verkehrlich gut angebunden und vom Stadtzentrum aus zügig erreichbar. Ein Besuch dort zum Brunchen am Wochenende, einfach mal Abends an der Bar oder zu einem schickeren Abendessen lohnt sich.

I visited the Phönix Restaurant in Oldenburg at a company Christmas party with over 60 people at the end of 2024. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and quickly found a comfortable seat on the first floor. A celebration there is possible for groups of up to 70 people. The food was really tasty, there was enough quantity (the buffet was regularly refilled) and it was also appetizingly prepared, and the drinks were also according to our expectations. Before our visit, we had arranged a Christmas buffet including a drinks package with the restaurant and were very happy with it. The Phönix is ​​also a good choice for birthdays and various celebrations that prefer a more chic ambience. I would also like to positively emphasize the possibility of having a weekly breakfast buffet there. This is usually on the ground floor and is therefore easy to reach for people with disabilities, there are no steps in the entrance area.

We were there on my birthday and really had a perfect evening. A very good wine recommendation and particularly good service. There was a good vegetarian selection, while the steak my companion left nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable and will be back :)

We ate at Phönix for the first time today and we were really impressed! Not only was the delicious food an absolute highlight, but also the service! Rarely seen such friendly staff. Absolute recommendation! We had the goat cheese with pumpkin chutney as a starter and bread with dip. The main course was the American beef fillet and once the rump steak.

The main course (tortellini with pumpkin and goat cheese) was good but not special and the portion was quite small. Serving the dessert took a very long time even though it was a cool dish that only needed to be briefly sprinkled with sugar and torched - actually a matter of 1/2 minute. The music was too loud for me and I sat so that I could see a very bright lantern shining on the red curtain the whole time. There is great light but also some guests who are blinded. The service was very friendly.

The food and service were quite good. However, the portions are really puny for the prices. And the store urgently needs a renovation. If you look closely around, you can see unfinished walls and broken inventory everywhere. And electrical cables not laid properly.

The barbecue buffet was enthusiastically received by our birthday guests. The grilled fish specialties such as pulpo were particularly well received. Bin durch Zufall hier gelandet und vom Essen, den Mitarbeitern und dem Ambiente begeistert. Angenehme Anzahl an Gerichten und Getränken, dabei helfen die Mitarbeiter gerne bei der Auswahl. Der Platz auf der Terrasse ist im Sommer sehr angenehm, wenn es kühler werden sollte gibt es im Inneren sehr schöne Plätze.

Ambiance and furnishings: The ambience is very pleasant. The music is mixed, but mostly modern. Kind of like radio, nothing specific. If I saw it correctly, there are even absorbers on the ceiling, which makes the acoustics pleasant and makes it possible to have a normal conversation without shouting at each other like in many other restaurants. What struck me negatively is the men's toilet. Because there is a window right next to the “essential porcelain” through which it is very easy to feel like you are being watched. A complete privacy screen or something similar would help here! A note for wheelchair users or people who have difficulty walking: You have to struggle with some barriers. The toilets, for example, are on the 1st floor. So climbing stairs is necessary! There is also a step for the back area in the restaurant itself. Service: To get to the point; If you were given half as much attention in any other restaurant as you are here, everything would be fine. Very attentive and inquiring staff. Whether the staff really cares whether everything is okay or whether I like it is another matter. But the gesture counts! Because there are many restaurants where you are simply ignored. Not here! Very good. Let's get to the essentials: the food. You have to know that there are no classic dishes like standard burgers, pizza or pasta here. You should look at the menu BEFORE to see if there is something you like. This makes the restaurant “special” and stands out from the others. Based on the quantity, you might initially think that it's too little because it's served on an abnormally large plate :D But the quantity is sufficient. Everything tasted very good and the prices were average. Feel free to visit!

Extremely good food and very attentive staff. Modern yet comfortably furnished. However, today it no longer has anything in common with the Phoenix as it was 30 years ago. What was once a “student bar” has become a fine dining establishment. We were surprised and very satisfied!

We celebrated our 100th birthday and wedding anniversary with guests from far away in the winter garden. Everyone was absolutely thrilled. All-round carefree service, excellent buffet with selected delicacies, tasteful ambience. The prices have risen significantly compared to the "old Phoenix", but the portions are smaller. I had fried potatoes as a side dish, but I didn't finish them because they just didn't taste good.

Delicious antipasti, great sausages, good cheese, fish, jam, dessert, cereals, juices. The service is very good, professional and very attentive. I really liked the service of freshly made scrambled eggs and fried eggs. I know about the Adlon, Berlin and the Wartburghotel (unfortunately closed). When I read reviews from guests about the Phoenix's "small" menu, I have to say that the stupidity doesn't die out. I'll definitely come back. It was a great Easter Monday.

Many thanks to the enthusiastic Phoenix team for an outstanding New Year's Eve! Our group of 19 people had booked the buffet on the ground floor. The food was varied and super tasty. The extensive selection of drinks was of high quality. All guests were relaxed and in a good mood. DJ Gary ensured that the dance floor was always full with his perfect selection of music and the night went by far too quickly. Our group felt very comfortable and is looking forward to the next New Year's Eve party at the Phönix!

I love the shop, great food. Service was sometimes a bit haphazard and unfocused - the wrong food was brought to the table. I still enjoyed it...But reacted great, but dessert was on the house. They were visibly uncomfortable. Atmosphere to feel good. Drinks of high quality, from Krausen to the most delicious grappa… and much more. Everything is there. By far my favorite restaurant.

Aufenthalt im Kaminzimmer im Zuge einer Firmenfeier. Das Essen wurde als Buffet in guter Qualität und sehr schmackhaft angeboten. Leider fehlten Hinweisschilder. Die Servicekräfte zeigten Schwächen bei der Versorgung mit Getränken. Nach dem Umbau wurde zwar mehr Raum geschaffen, aber für 80 Personen war es definitiv zu eng. Leider wurde an die Raucher nicht gedacht. Auf der Dachterrasse standen wir ungeschützt im Regen und Wind. Das war in der Vergangenheit deutlich angenehmer gelöst.

Für mich ein Kleinod des Geschmacks sowohl fürs Auge als auch für die Zunge. Wundervoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit liebevollen Details für Ästhetik und Funktionalität, ein wenig Sylt in Oldenburg. Die Speisen eine Geschmacksvielfalt mit unerwarteten Aromen, die gereichten Teller eine Freude für die Augen. Der Service liebevoll kümmernd.

Ich war gestern zu einer Vorlesung einer Krimiautorin mit Essen und einem Getränk im Phönix, die Räumlichkeit schön aber sehr kalt ,das Essen lecker aber übersichtlich klein gehalten sah aus wie eine Vorspeise und es kam sehr spät ,der Wein war gut .Sonst ein schönes Lokal und nette Bedienung , zum Essen gehe ich da aber nicht mehr hin da war mir Zuwenig auf dem Teller.

Das Essen war sehr gut, der Service gut und das Ambiente schön. Allerdings wurde gefragt, ob die Außentür aufgestellt werden könnte. Unsere Antwort wurde allerdings nicht abgewartet und die Tür stand im Handumdrehen auf. Es war dann wirklich kühl. Leider kam der Service zu selten, sodass wir die nächste halbe Stunde damit leben mussten. Und nein - wir konnten sie nicht selbst zu machen.

Gut für einen besonderen Abend.

Vom Ambiente, Service, bis zum Essen, hier stimmt einfach alles. Ich war zum ersten Mal hier, aber bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mahl. Die Speisekarte ist sehr gut zusammengestellt. Solch ein leckeres Wiener Schnitzel habe ich selten gegessen. Die Steinpilzravioli waren ein Gedicht. Gerne werden wir wiederkommen.

Leckerer Abschluss eines Ausflugs. Einziges Manko kein Schwarzbier auf der ansonsten umfangreichen Karte.

Ich kenne das Lokal noch von ganz früher, als es noch eine Studentenkneipe war. Was für eine Verwandlung! Hip, aber nicht zu durchgestylt, sodass man sich sehr wohlfühlt. Gut gelungen. Ich hatte ein Rumpsteak auf Wildkräutersalat. Erstklassige Qualität auf den Punkt gegart und einen Grauburgunder von Pfaffmann. Sehr zuvorkommend und freundlicher Service.

Wir sind hier früher sehr gerne gewesen aber seit der Wiedereröffnung durch einen neuen Betreiber sind wir leider nicht mehr so angetan. Das Essen ist ganz in Ordnung, aber man kann für den Preis sicherlich woanders besser essen gehen! Leider sind die Portionen teilweise auch sehr klein gehalten. Der Service war dagegen sehr freundlich und aufmerksam!

Hatte die Ehre, hier auf einer Geburtstagsparty eingeladen gewesen zu sein. Der Service war gleich super nett und hat einen zum ersten Stock geleitet - überhaupt, wenn das bestellte Bier einen sogar draußen auf der Terrasse erreicht, hat das schon Respekt verdient! Essen war sehr variationsreich und von guter Qualität. Jetzt muss ich nur noch das reguläre unten mal ausprobieren.

Super service und unglaublich gutes Essen! Der Laden ist auch super schön eingerichtet die Renovierung war ein voller Erfolg.
