Phở & Rice - Vietnam Street food in Hamburg

It's delicious and the prices are good. But the fact that you can only pay in cash is really annoying and unfortunately no longer appropriate these days.

At the beginning I was very enthusiastic, but unfortunately I have to take back my first rating a bit. 3.5 stars would be my choice. We've been there several times now and the visits were just far too different. From perfect to totally boring and from friendly to totally overwhelmed, everything was there. If you're lucky, the perfect evening. But that's not enough for 5 stars.

Very nice little Vietnamese restaurant with maybe eight or nine tables. Very nice owner and nice staff. You can also pay by card here. Food is super tasty. Depending on your hunger, the portions could be a bit larger but otherwise TOP. If you reserve, go too, it's worth it!

The small and cute restaurant is within walking distance from the main station. The walls, ceilings, decoration, music, etc. are very reminiscent of small bars in Vietnam. There were three of us there and we found what we were looking for with starters, main courses and dessert. I was particularly pleasantly surprised with the starters and dessert. I've never been able to order them anywhere else. Now in fast forward - Goi xoài - Xôi chiên (yum!) - Nem chay - Phở bò viên - Phở càri - Bún xá xíu - Kem xoi - Bánh trung - Chuoi nuong (yum!) The service was fast, attentive and friendly and the prices, despite the location, were almost too cheap. Vegans also get their money's worth here.

Amazing Pho and very friendly service. I came to this place back in 2019 and again in 2024, and it was still as good as I remember!

Small, cozy, simple shop with great kitchen and staff. We were there spontaneously without making a reservation and just managed to get a table. So important! Reserve. It's really worth going there.

The food was perfectly fine. They get a big deduction because I asked for water from the tap, but had to pay 3.5 euros for a glass of water.

This was a great discovery on our lunch break. As a small group of 5 we just entered here and had an awesome culinary experience. The food came fast, ist was fresh, looked amazing and tasted delicious. We all had different dishes and they were all, without exception really good. The price is totally fair, on the affordable side. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. I found the place to be clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There were four of us and we sat outside in the summer. The service was very friendly. The drinks were good. The food came to the table quickly. The taste of the food was okay.

We were there on a Monday evening and it was a top restaurant in all respects. The service is super nice and accommodating, a 10/10 I've never eaten better Vietnamese food. Can highly recommend it. Never had to wait long for anything. Great, keep it up!

Starter (summer roll) and main course (pho with beef) were very tasty. As does the Vietnamese coffee for dessert. However, the portion size is very small and overall a bit too expensive for the prices. Service very quick and attentive. You can definitely go there, but it's less suitable if you're really hungry.

Definitely recommended! The service staff are super pleasant and very accommodating. The portions are really great for the price (and that's coming from someone who is always hungry). Atmosphere is great, especially under the canopy where we sat. Overall, a great restaurant with nice people, which you leave in a good mood.

I was initially skeptical when I saw it online. But when I was there, it completely surprised me. The ambience was very nice. The food came super quickly and tasted very tasty. So highly recommended :)

Phantastic Pho! 🍲 The Chicken broth in the chicken lemon pho has such an incredible flavor. Nice outdoor seating in a relaxing square with a historic cathedral that still rings its bells on the hour. They also have English on the menu which is a plus. The green tea is real loose leaf tea with a great taste.

Friendly staff and a very tasty Pho soup. Tastes like Vietnam 😊

Unfortunately, food is not recommended. The seating is nice, the atmosphere is nice, but the food was below average. The tofu curry was very watery and didn't taste like anything. Summer rolls with shrimp were okay. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing overall.

A small but cool shop right near Hamburg Central Station. The ambience and presentation invite you to pay a short visit. The food tastes absolutely delicious and the staff seems highly motivated and super friendly. The noodles are cooked just right and not completely soft and the meat is tender and well seasoned. Everything tastes well-balanced and you can tell that there is no intentional attempt to add more salt than necessary and make guests thirsty. The homemade drinks taste absolutely delicious and are a welcome change from the standard ones you often get. Thanks to the outdoor spaces, which can also be covered with a blind if necessary, the small shop really has everything you need. Here you can not only enjoy a quick snack, but also treat yourself to something delicious with friends. In any case, it is one of the shops near the main train station where you are in good hands and it tastes delicious. The toilet is small and a bit cramped, but still ingeniously designed. But if there is a lot going on, there can be a traffic jam in the toilet.

Great restaurant. Found it today by accident. It was great, the food was great and the service was wonderful too. We were served friendly and quickly. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, they were initially forgotten after ordering...we immediately gave a drink on the house and then the food was there straight away. Everything was great.... gladly again... my wife and I really liked it :)

I found it overrated. Waitor took the wrong order, but we didn't change to avoid wasting it. cola tasted just like water. Food was not the best, so three stars just fair.

I came across this restaurant while in Hamburg for a few days. It's in the basement, it's easy to pass by if you don't know it. And that would be a shame. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. I would love to come back, but unfortunately I have to leave tomorrow!

Wow, what can I say? We were really excited, very tasty food. Pretty authentic Vietnamese cuisine, the aroma of the dishes was very good. If you love it, you can add fish sauce because there is a small bottle on the table. If you want more garlic, you can also season it if necessary. The ambience is also very successful, you immerse yourself in another world. The feel-good atmosphere is very high, the staff is very nice, fragrant smells come from the kitchen and they cook very quietly. We were very excited, it was better to reserve a table at the weekend. We'll be back, as sure as Amen in church.

The Pho tasted just like in Vietnam, I can only recommend it.

Cozy sub-terrain atmosphere with incredible wall painting. Beautiful, exceptionally delicious food with the traditional offerings but also some new taste combinations. Absolutely loved the Com Nieu Tra Xanh with matcha coconut cream. Have never seen it offered and I eat Vietnamese a lot in Berlin. Feel like coming back even though I am only here for four days.

Rarely have Asian food been as good as it was here. Extremely tasty (I had the Bun Bowl Bùn Bó) and very cheap. Pleasant atmosphere.

Pork Fried Noodles + Mochi Cakes with Lychee Jelly

If you want to eat pho soup here before getting on the train, you've done everything right!!! The passion fruit tea was a great taste experience, the walls are artistically painted, everything is very lovingly furnished, there are colorful seat cushions, stools and also chairs with backrests. Very friendly service! Food very tasty, very nicely decorated, 5 stars!

Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience: I had severe stomach problems while eating, my girlfriend afterwards. She got an allergic shock at night with a swollen face and the dermatologist said it happened yesterday evening. No idea what exactly it was, but despite the tasty food and good service, bad consequences and side effects.

The restaurant was located close to our hotel (Reichshof) and due to the good reviews we wanted to visit Pho & Rice. Their website said that there were no available seats, but we went anyway. Luckily there was a table for us, and we got a warm welcome from the owner (we believe). The place is relatively small, but the atmosphere was good. Service was really good and friendly all the way. Food was really nice and tasty, and at a very reasonable price. We will return next time we are in Hamburg.

Gut für den Mittagstisch geeignet, es gibt eine große vegetarische Auswahl.

Kleiner schnuckeliger Laden am Ende der Langen Reihe in St. Georg. Wir sind ohne Reservierung hin und hatten Glück, dass wir einen Tisch bekommen haben. Viele vietnamesische Dekoartikel und Wandmalereien zieren das Lokal. Das Essen kam schnell und war fantastisch gut. Alle Mitarbeiter waren freundlich, schnell arbeitend und zuvorkommend.

We made a spontaneous visit to this place to have a warm food before our trip from central station. Everything was surprisingly great.

I went with a few other people and it was such a nice experience. The server was very friendly and helpful even though we didn’t speak German. The price is also quite reasonable as the portions are quite generous. (The picture I attached was had to finish and I had an empty stomach with a fair big appetite) Despite how busy they were, everything came on time and piping hot!

We came here for lunch and ordered vegetarian dishes, like veggie pho soup. We weren't happy with it because the broth hadn't really flavour and the vegetables were overcooked. The interior is nice. Elements are used which are typically for Vietnam. The location of the restaurant is okay. But the staff is nice and friendly.

Das kleine Restaurant ist mega authentisch. Man fühlt sich als wäre man in Vietnam im Urlaub. Das essen ist lecker und frisch zubereitet, mit leckeren Zutaten. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist vollkommen in Ordnung. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Ambiente ist locker aber gemütlich, authentisch von der Einrichtung und sauber Das Essen ist ebenso authentisch und auch von der Portionsgröße gut, allerdings finde ich den stolzen Preis für ein bisschen Brühe (pho) mit Nudeln einfach brutal viel, wenn ich vergleiche das ich in anderen fancy Läden für weniger Geld mehr Leistung bzw ein besseres Geschmackserlebnis bekomme

Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, das Essen aber leider geschmacklich nicht überzeugend und für die kleinen Portionen auch deutlich zu teuer. Es gibt bessere Vietnamesen in Hamburg.

Das Personal war freundlich und der Service schnell. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt und der Style vom Restaurant ist ganz cool

Schneller Service, das Essen kann auch sehr schnell. Die Preise für einen Mittagstisch waren okay. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und die Rechnung kam flott. Alles gut. Das Essen war ganz gut, aber von der Portion her recht wenig.

Bei jedem Hamburg-Besuch ist hier ein Essen Pflicht. Total lecker und toller Service. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.
