What a little diamond. Simply superb. A slight delay getting our table, but the staff were amazing. The food is incredible, starting with 'just' the bread. I had the Australian filet steak which was cooked to perfection. Next time the full six course menu 👍👍👍

Really extremely tasty and at the same time uncomplicated and cozy

This was our fourth time eating here. Always the complete menu (6 or 7 courses) with the right wine accompaniment. It's worth it every time. The food, service and ambience are really very good. It's certainly not star-rated food, but it's close and significantly cheaper. The dishes are prepared to perfection and the wine always goes well to very well with it. We would be happy to come back and accept a 200km journey again because we always feel comfortable and as a customer... king.

A wonderful restaurant! We had 4-course meals and all the dishes were really delicious. The accompanying wine was well selected, the service was attentive, relaxed and friendly. The price level was completely ok. A small drawback: We sat in the back area and it was quite loud. Maybe it was just the four people at the next table who were outdoing each other by talking about their golf and yachting vacations and how nothing was learned in German schools anymore and that more elites should be trained - unfortunately I couldn't find the off button... Never heard of educational equity? It's a shame that good restaurants too often attract people like this but they still absolutely go there!

Ein rundherum toller Abend mit sehr nettem aufmerksamen Service und ausgezeichnetem Essen. Der Abend begann mit dem leckersten Aperol, den ich bisher getrunken habe. Die Vorspeisen waren mein Höhepunkt. Gern kommen wir wieder!!

Obwohl ich schon lange in Hamburg lebe- habe ich jetzt zum ersten Mal hier gegessen. Was habe ich all die Jahre verpasst! Ein fantastisches Lokal, mit kleinem Aussenbereich im Sommer- jetzt leider nicht. In den restlichen Monaten ist es trotzdem total schön in den Innenräumen des leicht verwinkeltem Philipps mit viel Gemütlichkeit. Dazu war es ausgesprochen köstlich, die Brotauswahl mit Aufstichen sehr fein, das Tatar sensationell abgeschmeckt und in vorzüglicher Qualität. Hummersüppchen war leider Hummerfleischlos- aber mit herrlichem Geschmack. Die Topinambur Variation hat komplett begeistert und viel Spaß gemacht. Ceviche rundeten die Vorspeisenorgie ab und waren ebenfalls sehr fein abgeschmeckt. Espresso und Schokoladenküchlein verstärkten das zufrieden wohlige Gefühl nur noch mehr. Die Damen im Service müssen außerdem gelobt werden- super freundlich, kompetent und lustig - toll! Fantastisches Lokal- bei und für uns hat alles gestimmt. Danke sehr!

Aufgrund der Top-Bewertungen haben wir uns für das Restaurant entschieden. Mein Mann hatte Ente in 2 Gängen, ich ein 4-Gänge Menü. Die Brotauswahl mit verschiedenen Aufstrichen war sehr gut. Die Entenbrust war kpmplett durchgebraten und extrem trocken. Die Entenkeule war soweit o.k. Die Beilagen mußte man suchen. Auf Nachfrage hieß es die Entenbrust wird immer so serviert. Das Menü war soweit o.k. Fazit: Das Restaurant wird absolut überbewertet!

I would like to highlight the carbonara in a particularly positive way. Upon request, there are also gluten-free alternatives (bread, pasta). Velkomstbobler sto klare ved ankomst og i tillegg ledsaget oss en rikelig og utsøkt vinpakke gjennom et 4- retters fantastisk måltid, fryd for øye og gane. Vi hadde god innsyn i kjøkkens aktiviteter, alltid et godt tegn. Service var utmerket, Phillip ledet oss oppmerksom gjennom måltidet og vi følte oss godt i varetatt. Tusen takk for en super hyggelig matopplevelse! Her får du mye kvalitet for pengene. Vi kommer garantert igjen.

Vi havde bestilt bord på restauranten, der mere end levede op til vores forventninger! Personalet var så imødekommende og opmærksomme. Tjeneren ved vores bord var virkelig god til at snakke engelsk og enormt smilende og venlig. Stemningen på restauranten var unik. Et lille intimt sted med god og flot indretning! Selvom vi sad ret tæt på et par ved et andet bord, havde vi en oplevelse af “bare at være os”. Maden var fantastisk - velafstemt, velsmagende og velanrettet! Gode portionsstørrelser og meget (!) fair priser. Som “starter” fik vi lidt forskelligt friskbagt med lækker smør/friskost/olie til. Oveni fik vi, mens vi ventede på hovedret, en lille smagsprøve fra køkkenet. Kæmpe anbefaling herfra! Virkelig en dejlig måde at tilbringe sin fredag aften på. Vi kommer bestemt igen og spår restauranten rigtig gode tider fremover!

Spontaneous visit to Philipps in St. Pauli. Nice, friendly, cozy. We were able to sit outside in the courtyard, a very pleasant atmosphere. The food was as expected, very presentable, tasty, surprising and modern. We had a wonderful evening at Philipps.

We were lucky to get a waitlist reservation in the garden area. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed. All the staff were super friendly. The chef was very helpful for my friend with histamine intolerance and very restricted eating. The saddle of lamb was amazing. The steak tartare delicious. The bread basket and butters were divine! The wines were reasonably priced from about 7/8e up. We stayed for about 4 hours and had a lovely relaxing evening. Highly recommend:-)

Yesterday we visited Philipp. A relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and wine with great service leaves nothing to be desired. The menu is very well thought out and perfectly coordinated to suit the session. We were absolutely blown away by the Black Angus flank steak with chanterelles, beans and bacon - really something to kneel down on. The pistachio macha eclair is a visual eye-catcher, round in taste and perfectly balanced with the gooseberry sorbet and compote. Something you don't often find either. Great selection of wines - a journey through Germany, Europe and the world. You get the impression that they like to drink themselves too. Overall, a really honest, great restaurant that is worth every penny with a lot of love, passion and commitment!

Så kunden selv kan skænke). Husk at bytte Alm. kniv ud med en steak knife når der serveres hele kødstykker.

I was there yesterday with my two (adult) children. We had a really fantastic evening. The rooms are very comfortable and, despite their size, have enough privacy. If you want, you can sit outside in a small courtyard. The service was impeccable, friendly and warm-hearted in a very pleasant way. We have been guests at Philipps several times and have been completely satisfied every time, including this time. The dishes were creative, perfectly prepared and appropriately sized so that we could each treat ourselves to dessert. We'd love to come back. I can recommend this restaurant without reservation.

This is a romantic restaurant with a cosy atmosphere. Nice design. The service is very friendly and helpful. I found the menu to be too limited. 2/3 starters;2/3 main dishes. The choice of the desserts is wider. There could be more options for main dishes. The meals are well-prepared and delicious. The bread basket is wonderful! Fresh, home made bread and deli dips. A deli gazpacho was served between the meals. We ordered beef tartar and it was good; about 24.- We ordered schnitzel (small potion) charged 24.- It was served with some potato+cucumber salad and cranberry jam. It was good, but presentation could be better. We ordered crème brûlée: charged about 10.-. I was liked it very much. I recommend trying it. I liked the restaurant, but I found it overpriced. Good restaurant, but bad value for money. Don’t forget to book you table in advance.

This basement is located not far from the Feldstrasse subway station and Heiligengeistfeld -Restaurant. The location is not suitable for strolling. It's a bit reminiscent of the BRONX in NEW YORK, but you can also describe it as cool or a trendy district. We visited this restaurant in July 2024 with a reservation. I was informed on the phone about a time window of 2 hours for the stay. After an employee called me back after calling my voicemail to make the reservation, I received another call 10 minutes before I showed up from an employee who also wanted to inquire about my wishes. Since I was almost at the door, there was no need to make another appointment. When she arrived she said that the colleague hadn't entered the appointment... Now suddenly we were supposed to sit outside, which I refused (an hour later it started to rain). After a long search she found a small table inside. Incidentally, all guests, without exception, are called by the initials upon arrival and during service. We quickly received the menus, which are also available in an English edition. The selection of dishes was very clear. One page was dedicated to the menu. 4 courses cost €78, wine accompaniment €35. 6 courses cost €104. Wine accompaniment costs €49. Of course there is also a wine list. We ordered “Australian beef fillet tartare”, €21.50. First of all there were delicious different types of bread with different butter. Then a small glass of “Andalusian Gazpacho” cold and delicious. Then came the beef tartare, presented in a visually appealing manner. The taste was very good. Our main course was the small (!) Viennese veal schnitzel (€24.50), which is also available in a larger version for €31.50. The schnitzel was excellent. The potato salad was mixed with cucumber salad, but prepared without any spices, at least I couldn't taste anything like that. Therefore I can only rate this as having sufficient taste. But the most important thing was the schnitzel. Finally, we ordered Creme Brulee as dessert (€9.50). I didn't like the non-alcoholic beer "Kapitän", €5.60. The service was nice and attentive. The prices are in the upper segment. The sink in the toilet was smaller than 40cm with an estimated depth of 20cm..

Philipps is our favorite restaurant! It's wonderful for a couple's evening, e.g. for a birthday. Philipp and his team are extremely friendly, the menu is very much to our liking and the food is simply great! Thank you for the many lovely evenings we have had with you.

My wife and I went to Philipps Restaurant on a Saturday evening and celebrated her birthday with a nice 6-course menu with wine accompaniment. The welcome was very warm, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly, smiling employee and were offered several places to sit. We chose a small, intimate niche right next to the wines. It couldn't be more private and was absolutely in our interest. It started with delicious bread and dips, followed by a tasty greeting from the kitchen and then the culinary journey through the 6 courses began. Each course and its ingredients, including the appropriate wine, were presented in detail and served extremely attractively. The service ladies weren't above small talk and were extremely attentive at all times. All we can say about the food is that it tasted just as good as it looked. We don't know the last time we had such a delicious meal. In our opinion the price is justified. As a guest you are valued in every respect and it is simply a well-rounded overall experience. We definitely recommend it and we will definitely come back.

We had a wonderful evening sitting in the garden/backyard/patio. The food was very tasty, varied, no two courses were the same in our 5-course menu. Fine flavors, great cooking and great service, we were very satisfied. The perfect evening in a wonderful atmosphere for my birthday. Blankets were very comfortable when it got a little cooler. The attentiveness of everyone involved in the service was outstanding - and congratulations to the kitchen. As a guest you have the feeling of being well looked after by a good team. We look forward to dining there again at our next Hamburg Trio.

We were visiting Hamburg over the weekend and I chose the restaurant based on the top reviews. All expectations were exceeded. Ambiance, service and food were excellent. From the homemade bread variation, the greetings from the kitchen, to the cheese variation, everything was really perfect! The wine selection is also great! What's also just great is that Philipp himself gave us wonderful advice and care throughout the evening. You can really feel the passion that goes into this restaurant!

A really wonderful restaurant, very accommodating and warm. But the food is the best...it's sophisticated, honest and delicious. Price-performance simply perfect. The meat was fried to perfection, the cauliflower was more tender than I have ever tasted anywhere and the dessert was perfect. Everything is really wonderful!
