Persia Restaurant in Leipzig

They charged us more than the price we had negotiated. We had kalepache there. We were a group of 9 people. The price on the menu is 12 euros. I made the reservation over the phone and asked for 4 of the 9 plates without pache and more substitute of meat. I was told that only for those 4 we should pay 15 euros but at the end they charged us 16.5 for all the dishes because we asked for more bread and lemon and because they served us teabag tea which we thought was part of the service. After I told them the price was supposed to be 15 only for those 4 dishes, the owner told us very aggressively she should have charged us 18 euros. I hardly ever leave any reviews but I am very frustrated with their dishonesty. Never going back. Those who are picky eaters know that tea with four lemons and bread on the side is part of the service. They don't increase the price because of it. Later, we were supposed to pay 15 euros instead of giving more meat, not all of them, but in the end they took 16.5 euros from everyone. Apart from that broth, both of them wanted to have a bowl. It makes no sense to tell fat people to eat two of the same bowl together. We protested and then sent it to everyone

We ate here today because of the good reviews. For us, the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all. It was very cold in the dining room. The taste of the food was okay, but €17 (No. 22) for four mini pieces of chicken in a pomegranate sauce with ground walnuts, a large pile of rice with saffron and a few slices of radish is completely excessive. We cannot understand the reasoning that walnuts are expensive and that some ingredients have to be imported. Other restaurants/snack bars also source ingredients from their local cuisine and don't have such exorbitant prices.

The food was really great. We were thrilled by the oriental spices. The service is very attentive and we felt well served here. We would love to come back to try other dishes on this menu.

We were in the restaurant on Friday evening. Very good food and probably freshly prepared. The service was very friendly. The dessert was also delicious, it took a little longer as it was certainly freshly arranged. We can highly recommend the restaurant! Price/performance ratio is great.

I had an extremely frustrating experience at this restaurant. They refuse to accept debit cards, claiming their payment terminal “does not work.” The problem? I was here nine months ago, and they gave me the exact same excuse. Either they’re running a business with a permanently broken card machine (which is absurd), or they’re deliberately avoiding card payments for obvious reasons. It is completely unacceptable to expect paying customers to go out of their way to withdraw cash just to eat. This is 2025—if you run a restaurant, you should provide basic payment options. Not everyone carries cash, nor should they be forced to.

We ate at this restaurant this evening and were more than thrilled! Aside from the cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, the food was also delicious and highly recommended! The waitresses were very nice, friendly and accommodating! You didn't have to wait long :) It is definitely recommended and also an absolute tip if you want to explore Persian cuisine. We can only say everything was tip top and we would love to come back to try out more dishes. LG :)

The Persia Restaurant in Leipzig impresses with a stylish and cozy atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The food is authentic and fresh, and the Zeytoon Parvarde and the Soltani Kebab in particular are absolute highlights - perfectly seasoned and excellently prepared! The owner is extremely friendly and provides warm hospitality. However, we were a little disappointed with the Asch Reshte - neither had a convincing taste nor was it sufficiently portioned. Nevertheless, the restaurant remains a top address for Persian specialties in Leipzig. We'll definitely be back!

This restaurant does not even adhere to the working hours it has set and posted on the door, it was closed on Tuesday at 12:45 pm. In my opinion, a place that doesn't value other people's time probably doesn't have a commitment to food quality.

Very tasty food and super hospitable owner! We had the lamb and minced beef skewers and chicken in walnut pomegranate sauce. Preferably in combination with grilled tomatoes and fresh herbs ☺️

Absolutely FANTASTIC food! Look no further! Authentic Persian food, everything home-made, cooked with love and care by real Persians. We were so absorbed in eating the starter we forgot to take pictures of the main course before it disappeared! I am writing this still sitting at the table, before the lamb's fat dries up of my lips! Lamb of Gods! 🙃 DELICIOUS!

I ordered Kabab Kubideh and Ashe reshte from liferando, the kabab was super salty and oily and full of big pieces of something green, I contacted them and they told me it was onion, the texture of the food was far from an authentic Persian food, in Persian kebab everything mixed together finely and you don’t see big pieces of something in it, basically the kebab was full of onion with a little bit meat, the Ashe reshte was also super salty and very watery, I normally eat salt a lot but both food were super salty, the beens and Noodles in Ashe reshte were completely over cooked, I ordered food from them before and sometimes the food was good and sometimes not good, sometimes the kebab taste like cinnamon or turmeric and sometimes it was very tasty, my friends had also the same experience, in general you can’t get similar taste every time you order, I spent 33€ for the dishes and delivery and I just throw away them in our trash can after one bite, I contacted the restaurant and they said we are sorry that you did not like our food and it was not what you expected. Unfortunately when you are not satisfied with your food you can’t get the money back. I would like to add that their staffs are very polite and friendly.

The portions were very small and therefore not filling. In addition, the food didn't look very appetizing, but of course I tried it because that doesn't mean anything. In my braised lamb, there was very little actual lamb, but a lot of braising liquid. The portions of rice are very oversized, you get the feeling that they were just trying to fill the plate. As a side dish you got rocket leaves, mint leaves, onions and for some reason also radishes, which in my opinion tasted very unsuitable. My companion also ordered braised meat and baked potatoes with it, but these baked potatoes were FunnyFrish chips from a supermarket which were simply sprinkled on the stock (I recognized them because I had eaten them 3 hours before), which had nothing at all to do with it Persian cuisine has a lot to offer when supermarket chips are marketed as baked potatoes. Here too, the rice to leftover ratio was not correct. I can't explain how this establishment got 4.6 stars. When we arrived at this restaurant it was very cold, as if the door was open, it was very painful on our knees, and only after being asked did the waiter turn up the heat a little. I don't even want to start with the toilet situation, they are all connected and you could just hold a cell phone over them. The beer was also at room temperature. The service was actually very nice, but the basic rules of communication with guests simply weren't there. However, the dining area looked very nice. In addition, a large drink was charged instead of the actual small drink I had. In summary, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. I hope these problems change there, otherwise I wonder how this restaurant has a future.

In the main course, very little meat (3 small pieces of lamb, 1 tablespoon each) and vegetables, but a huge portion of rice. A small appetizer as a welcome greeting was surprisingly positive.

We had dinner there in the evening and were really impressed. You will be welcomed very friendly The service is really great. We asked a few times whether everything was OK without being intrusive. The atmosphere in the small restaurant is very authentic, cozy and there is also a small “tea corner”. Before our main course we received flatbread with cheese and herbs without ordering it. As main courses we had No. 19 and No. 21. Both tasted great and the overall price-performance ratio was simply great. For dessert I had number 39 and that also tasted very good. If I hadn't been full, I would have ordered this again.

Five stars Absolutely recommended! I visited the Persian restaurant and was completely impressed. The food was simply outstanding! Numbers 18 and 21 on the menu in particular were absolute highlights, incredibly tasty, perfectly seasoned and prepared with a lot of love. The meat was tender, juicy and grilled to perfection. You immediately notice the high quality of the ingredients and the authentic preparation. The service was also very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. If you want to experience Persian cuisine at the highest level, this is the right place for you. I'll definitely be back!

We went there as a family, it is really recommended. Very friendly and courteous service, very tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere. The quick preparation of the dishes was particularly positive. The grilled, juicy chicken is truly a delight. The short waiting time was also bridged by delicious starters - so go ahead and try it out!

A very pleasant, quiet restaurant. We had Persian yogurt, eggplant starter, a very fresh small salad of cucumbers, tomatoes (lemon) and two main courses. Everything was very tasty and freshly cooked. You eat in a very relaxed manner, feel wonderfully full and yet are not stuffed. The two ladies who cook and do the service are friendly and accommodating. Great for a cozy early Sunday evening.

I had a nice dining experience at Persia restaurant last weekend. We tried the Kubideh, which was delicious, and the Kalam Polo, which was very tasty, though a bit oily for my liking. Still, I’d recommend it! The service was great, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. We finished with saffron ice cream, which wasn’t quite as good as expected. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would definitely recommend the main dishes."

I was in Leipzig today with my children and thought we would go to a Persian restaurant for dinner. We were welcomed very warmly and friendly by the lady of the house. Everything was very clean and inviting. We were served quickly and were recommended something from the menu. What can I say, it was super tasty, very well seasoned, beautifully presented and really plentiful. If I'm in Leipzig again I'll come over for dinner :) I can only recommend it!

A beautiful and invitingly designed facility! The specialists were friendly, but unfortunately inefficient and distracted in their way of working. We were almost the only guests, but two tables where we had previously eaten remained uncleared, even though the waitress had walked past them empty-handed about 10 times. The food came after more than three quarters of an hour and was then okay. Unfortunately, however, the chicken and lamb were clearly in the same oven, so my wife - who rejects lamb - couldn't get her chicken products. This can be done better. Last but not least, we almost paid €80 instead of €50 because we found products from the neighboring table that had already left on our bill. We had to point this out and get money back. This shouldn't happen in a professional restaurant! We're not going back.

Today I had Persian food with my girlfriend for the first time and we are very happy that we did it here! Highly recommended, the meat was tender as butter and everything was seasoned very tasty.

The two of us went there for dinner and we really loved it! There was a starter, main course and dessert. Everything was very tasty and prepared with a lot of love. The dishes are very unusual and you should definitely try them. The pomegranate sauce with walnuts was amazing! We'll definitely be back :)

I can't understand the positive reviews. Even though there were only two other tables next to us occupied, we had to wait over 35 minutes. The food itself was just okay, but the minced meat was very fatty.

We ordered *Kabab Koobide* and *kalam-polo* at Persia restaurant and were totally satisfied with the food. *Salad Shirazi* and *Mast_Moosir* taste very tasty as a side dish. The food was also inexpensive and another advantage was the fresh meat and vegetables. As the cook said, the dishes are freshly prepared and you could tell that in the taste.

Went there for the second time and were completely satisfied again! The meal takes a while, but there is an appetizer, so it's a good way to get through it. You can eat many dishes vegan and vegetarian, which is unfortunately rare in most Persian restaurants. The portions are large and, in my opinion, appropriate for the price. The landlady asked several times about your health and you felt well looked after! The food is amazing and is very close to the original! Food is perfect Environment is wonderful But the young girl who serves is very bossy and not friendly try to avoid her if you can. One star was removed because of our bad experience with her multiple times.

From there! The store should be crowded as it is! There are very tasty dishes with spices and flavors that you don't see that often (unfortunately!!). Everything is home cooked and the family that runs it is extremely nice. The store is clean, the interior is cozy and the prices are fair! I haven't eaten so well in a long time - and we are, after all, busy restaurant goers and amateur cooks!

Everything is perfect: the food, the employees and the price-performance ratio! There is still some room for improvement regarding the lack of card payment, but hopefully that will come soon🤍

We went to Persia for lunch because of the many good reviews and our own positive experiences with Persian cuisine. There were only 4 tables occupied in the restaurant. Still, we waited half an hour for the order to be taken and another hour for the food to arrive. In the meantime there was several confusions about which food belonged to which table. The food tasted good, but unfortunately it wasn't particularly easy to digest. You also have to like the smoky flavor, which was clearly tasted in two of our four dishes.
