Pension zum Pfälzer Hof in St. Leon-Rot

We ordered a €70 dinner via Uber Eats. It consisted of two tomato soups with baguettes, two garlic pepperoni, pike-perch fillet with rice, cordon bleu with gravy, and spaetzle, along with a side salad each. According to the ordering process, the food was supposed to arrive within an hour. It only arrived after a good hour and a half. The soup was excellent, very creamy and fruity with the fresh baguette, which was perfect. The pepperoni was unfortunately far too sour and had hardly any flavor; there was no trace of garlic. The cordon bleu was good, but the sauce came from a Maggi packet, was extremely salty and just plain awful. The spaetzle came from a packet, had no flavor, and wasn't even cooked with salt. The fish was also flavorless, as was the accompanying rice dish, which was prepared without any flavor or salt. Furthermore, it was dry, grainy rice that just fell off your fork—it didn't taste good at all!!! Now for the salad. The dressing was okay, but the salad mix was unfortunately not. Just a couple of large leaves of lettuce, shredded carrots, and red cabbage. We didn't like it either. So we spent a lot of money for very little taste and were still hungry afterward because most of it ended up in the trash, which is a shame. We chose this meal because we didn't want fast food for once. Next time we'll have pizza again.

We've eaten here many times for various occasions: family celebrations, girls' nights out, or just a meal for two. The food is excellent, whether it's pasta, meat dishes, fish, or the delicious salads. The staff is very friendly (it's a family-run restaurant), and the atmosphere is lovely, both inside and out. We'll definitely be back.

The service was quick and professional. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend the restaurant. I'll gladly come back! ✅
