Pension Bären in Hechingen

Very cute, small hotel with a beautiful room "Athens". Everything very clean. Nothing was missing. Delicious breakfast buffet and super friendly staff. If you are looking for an overnight stay in Hechingen, you have come to the right place 😀 Thank you very much ❤️!!!

Another review in which I would have liked to give more than 5 stars.... . A nice, privately run small hotel in a good location in the (old) town of Hechingen. Hohenzollern Castle is also nearby. The owners and employees are great people. I haven't been greeted so warmly in a hotel for a long time. My luggage was also carried up to the second floor. Nowadays an absolute unique selling point. The rooms have been renovated and look new. I had a comfort single room with a refrigerator and coffee/tea station. The price/performance ratio here is at a very good and customer-friendly level. I'd love to come back again. With this recommendation I wish the owner and his employees much success and all the best!

The room and bathroom were good and clean. Unfortunately there are no curtains or privacy screens. Unfortunately strong food smells from the pizzeria. Breakfast was simple but good and adequate.

Hotel in a prime location, modern, clean rooms and excellent breakfast buffet. Very nice and helpful staff. The best service of all: The transfer to the castle, which went smoothly and gave me an unforgettable day.

When we got up in the morning after breakfast we went to check our vehicle and there was a scratch on the rear driver side door... the whole length of the door. The bed was slanted on one side, and I'm sure not all the rooms are like that. It was a very clean place, it's a pity it's a friend hangout place as well. In the evening you can see it's just friends going on and out in and out. That's no way to run a business. It's a good way to ruin a business. We told the cook about the vehicle door and he said he would tell the manager (chef). Nothing came about it. I did see a security cam. If they are interested they can report it to the police, we've long gone.

Was there yesterday - great hotel!!

Great hotel for an overnight stay. Unfortunately, the room was not ready upon arrival. It was immediately taken care of and we were offered a delicious free dinner as compensation. Slept well, lovely bed and everything was very clean. Good breakfast, plenty available. Friendly staff.

The rooms are more like apartments, with a living room. We are sincerely thinking of going back, we are charmed.

More than a hotel room they gave us a real apartment and not even a small one, on the contrary: living room with very large kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. Very clean place and excellent welcome: nice guy, kind and gave us all the necessary information. The beds are comfortable, both the double and the sofa bed. Convenient location and free parking out front. The only flaw was the breakfast: we went down early and there was already almost nothing left and in any case from what was displayed the impression was that the variety was limited. Luckily we made up for it with the coffee available in the room. However I would go back.

Surprisingly nice, small and very well-kept guesthouse. Our room was completely renovated, the breakfast was manageable but sufficient. There was coffee and tea in the room. Very attentive owner at check-in (baggage brought up, room shown, etc.). Recommended!

I stayed in Hechingen to visit Hohenzollern Castle, one of the three most beautiful castles in the sky. Both the guest room and living room are clean and hygienic.

Great accommodation, great location. The staff are very friendly, family atmosphere. The rooms are very clean. I can absolutely recommend the accommodation.

Booking was canceled 2 weeks before arrival even though booking was made months ago. The hotel and the booking platform Booking blame each other. I advise against booking in this hotel.

We came to Hechingen from Mexico to visit and it was amazing. Everyone is super friendly, the owner is always there to help with anything no matter the time. I really appreciated the hospitality, I would 100% come back.

Great little hotel with international charm. All employees impress with their authenticity, friendliness and service. And all of this is very centrally located. The people from the Allgäu would say it’s a tough shop.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The location in the town of Hechingen is very suitable for a trip to Hohenzollern Castle.

The employees are very nice and helpful! The cleanliness in the room is really excellent and the mattresses are of very high quality. Breakfast was very tasty and freshly served in the morning. The train station is nearby and can be easily reached on foot. Overall, really great, inexpensive and beautiful. Always happy to come back.

Der erste Eindruck ist meistens der richtige und hier hat es sich leider bewahrheitet. Die Pension ist quasi mit einem Pizza Lieferdienst in einem Gebäude. Sehr wenige Parkplätze an der Straße. Der, sehr freundliche, Herr wusste nicht wer reserviert hatte und musste mit dem Chef telefonieren. Ist aber auch kein Problem. Zimmer war klein aber ausreichend. Dumm ist, bei Temperaturen um die Null Grad, die Fenster offen zu lassen. Dadurch war das Zimmer völlig ausgekühlt. Im Bad gibt es ein Fenster ohne Vorhang o.ä. Mich persönlich stört es nicht aber man kann vom Haus gegenüber in das Bad sehen! Auch das wäre, für mich, noch erträglich gewesen aber: Bis nachts gegen 3Uhr am Sonntagmorgen rannte man sich laut unterhaltend durch das Treppenhaus. Gegen 6 Uhr ging es mit dem Lärm schon wieder los und als Krönung wurde um 7:20 Uhr dann die Zimmertür einfach geöffnet! Kein Anklopfen, einfach rein! Das geht einfach nicht und das sorgt für die 1 Stern Bewertung. Update: Man sollte besser zu seinen Fehlern stehen! Sich bei Google zu beschweren ist ja wohl lächerlich. Ihre handgeschriebene Quittung ohne Durchschlag habe ich noch, freut sich bestimmt das Finanzamt drüber!

"Leider war unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Bären enttäuschend. Der Service war unfreundlich, und das Bemühen, ohne Frühstück zu buchen, wurde aufgrund angeblicher "buchhalterischer Gründe"erstmal abgelehnt. Zusätzlich war der nächtliche Piepton des WLAN-Verstärkers so störend, dass wir die ganze Nacht kein Auge zugetan haben. Die Reaktion des Personals darauf ließ zu wünschen übrig. Wir hätten uns zumindestens eine Entschuldigung erwartet. Ein Preisnachlass wäre auch eine feine Sache gewesen, denn man geht doch in erster Linie zum Schlafen in ein Hotel. Dies war aber aufgrund der stündlichen Ruhestörung unmöglich. Die Zimmer waren zwar nicht extrem geräumig, dafür aber sauber. Eine klare Warnung für zukünftige Gäste."

Everything modern and clean. Top furnished rooms. Top location. Friendly and courteous service. Pizza and pasta are very tasty. Top price-performance ratio. I would love to come back.

It was nearly 10pm when I arrived but the owner was happy to greet me with a smile. Free coffee and tea was a nice touch. There was also deodorant and mouth freshener for free. The owner spoke fluent English. The rooms are clean and the bears in some places are adorable. The owner was willing to take me to Hohenzollern Castle. The buses are really infrequent, so I was grateful to save time and money. If I have the opportunity to come to Hechingen again, I will use this hotel.
