Very good place for authentic German/Bavarian food.

Unfortunately, the portions of the vegetarian dishes were very small. The women's restroom was dirty, and unfortunately, we weren't allowed to sit outside. It was very dirty under our table; there was a cup, a piece of sausage, and a lot of dust and dirt.

The food was okay, but not wow, beer selection was great. Service was nice but a bit sparse. Very family friendly place.

A good place with a convenient location, the food is quite good, typical German. However, the prices are a bit high given the location. And it's a good place to have a good beer.

Think modern beer hall with long communal tables, bustling crowd, people talking over each other, large beer selection, etc. The food was surprisingly good. Service left much to be desired which is to be expected considering how busy it was.. Also, late at night so everybody is out. If you’re looking for a quiet intimate dinner with personal attention from the waitstaff, this is not it. But I think it is a great introduction to Germany, and anyone craving a hearty meal in a friendly, lively environment.

Unfortunately, we were ignored for about 10 minutes. Some service staff were busy with themselves. We then decided to go to Lindenbeäu in the Sony Center. We had better luck there. What a pity...

Classic Paulaner restaurant like those already present in Bavaria. Spacious and bright environment, fast service. Food quality promoted.

Amazing beer and great atmosphere. Staff are incredibly lovely and beer isn’t too expensive. €5.90 for 50cl in the centre of Berlin is very acceptable.

I went to the big 4 (Augustiner, Erdinger, Hofbrau and Paulaner) and this one was the worst by a long margin. Service was BAD, our waiter was clearly having a bad day and wanted to project this on us. No smiles, no care, he was ignoring us blatently, not to mention being sassy when I didn't pay tips. Food was average at best. Beer was the warmest by far. Try the other 3 before trying this one.

Our visit to Paulaner was deeply disappointing. First of all, the environment felt completely disorganized. We were seated at a table hidden behind a large plant, which not only isolated us from the rest of the restaurant but also made it very difficult for the staff to notice us. The waiter assigned to our table was inattentive and rude. He wouldn’t wait for us to finish asking our questions and, on multiple occasions, outright ignored our attempts to get his attention. The service was truly awful. As for the food, the Currywurst was extremely underwhelming – it honestly tasted like something straight out of a supermarket. Given the reputation and location of this restaurant, we expected a much higher standard. The dish came with a mountain of fries but barely any sauce, which made it dry and unappetizing. To make matters worse, the beer was served very warm – completely unacceptable for a place that brands itself as a traditional German brewery. When compared to other iconic beer halls like Hofbräuhaus, Augustiner, and Erdinger, Paulaner falls far behind in quality but somehow manages to be the most expensive of them all. Do yourself a favor: skip this location entirely and opt for any of the three mentioned above. I will definitely not be returning.

Took our three adult sons for dinner. Large restaurant. Lots of outdoor seating. No wait. The food exceeded our expectations! Loved the traditional options. It wasn’t too busy. A reminder to Americans the outdoor patio is where everyone smokes so keep that in mind when requesting seating.

A true Berlin experience 🤣...But the dark wheat beer and the trio (pork knuckle, two grilled Nuremberg bratwursts, and a golden-fried chicken schnitzel) were simply delicious. And you can sit outside, even with a view of the greenery.

We visited Paulaner Wirtshaus mainly for the beer and some small appetizers, and it didn’t disappoint! The service was excellent — friendly, quick, and attentive. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options on the menu, even beyond what we expected for just a casual visit. The location is amazing, with a great atmosphere that really adds to the experience. Whether you’re stopping in for drinks or a full meal, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Came in tired, were met by the waiter and seated instantly. Service was helpful and friendly. Ordered sausages and local beer. Food arrived fast and was delicious. 4.5 out of 5. Great place to have lunch at Potsdamer platz!

Good food and nice atmosphere, recommended

The waitress was rude and ignored our attempts to call her over. However, other tables she went to when they called her over. It was very odd considering our table was full of people with people of color and the other tables were full of white people. The service was incredibly slow because the waitress ignored us the whole time. The food was alright but did not make up for the issues with the service.

The beers and atmosphere are very good. The food is also pretty good.

Very good meal, our taste buds were delighted! Too bad the service decided to take a nap: slow, and the server clearly allergic to smiles. A little expensive for an experience that includes waiting and the "grumpy" atmosphere as an extra.

Food was sublime. It arrived lukewarm to cold. It didn't taste good either. Staff was ok. No recommendation.

The service seemed super listless and disinterested. Unfortunately, the food (3 different dishes) hardly tasted like anything and when we asked if there was any more asparagus, the waiter told us that he didn't recommend the asparagus because the inn doesn't prepare the asparagus well. The four of us were pretty speechless. All in all, both the food and the service can be improved.

Staff very friendly, but the rest is underground! Since nothing is freshly prepared, the food comes very quickly. It looks delicious at first, but it's all cold. And for these exorbitant prices you expect freshly cooked food. A meal was brought incorrectly - anything can happen, and it was taken back immediately. But then the same plate came back with only the meat replaced. Everything was cold and the side dishes didn't correspond to the menu at all. And to top it off, the full €30 was charged. The facility has nothing of Bavarian cosiness and the fact that one of the employees is wearing lederhosen is a bit confusing. No, we didn't feel comfortable, will never eat there again and don't recommend it. But the staff is very friendly!!!

Terrific place if you want good German food. They also had a delightful selection of N/A craft beers, which was very exciting for someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, but enjoys the craft of brewing. Excuse my half eaten meal photo, but I was so hungry I forgot the camera eats first.

Sensational! Went to Paulaner for lunch with a group of 48 people on May 6, 2025. Pork knuckle with cabbage and bread dumplings and a Paulaner Salvator were eaten and drunk, the day was saved. Delicious. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. Great team, my wife and I were in good hands and felt very comfortable. Thank you very much. Highly recommended. My wife couldn't manage the knuckle because it was very big and the skin was super crispy. Help came immediately, a container and a bag to take away were handed out. Let's eat cold together this evening. This Paulaner can be highly recommended. Delicious!!! With a friendly SERVUS, Helga & Leopold from Hamm remain.

The restaurant is ok, but the food is totally overpriced and the portions are tiny The taste is so-so... e.g. sausage salad in a compote bowl (small) €11 never again!!!

We sat for 10 minutes and there was no service. Several tables were not yet served. A waiter for the beer garden in good weather is probably not enough. Were there a few years ago. It was similar there. But food and drinks are okay

Me and my boyfriend went for lunch and some beers at this place today. It was really warm outside (28 degrees) but the guys did not lose their cool. Even though it was really busy on the terrace, we good our beers in a couple minutes and our food in maximum 10. One waiter specifically stood out, he was running for two hours straight. A lot of customers were kinda rude to him, but he remained calm and polite. We ate the pork knuckle and the half chicken. The food was really good, but the portions were quite big. We both could not finish our dishes. Overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend.

Rude behavior of the waiter, who did not want to serve us and even just sit at the table. We did not want to sit at the table next to the noisy company, at which he tried to seat us simply because it would be closer to him to walk. He did not have the strength to open a table for us 7 meters away from the company and he refused us twice. Well, they took our money to another restaurant)

Actually, one star is still too many. The service is very nice and the beer is also okay. But the food is a disaster! The asparagus was cooked for a long time, poorly peeled and the knives were blunt?! Everything was served in enamel bowls that had a lot of the enamel chipped off. I'll never eat here again! P.S. If there is already little seasoning, salt and pepper shakers should be available.

Great Italian food and a great vibe.

The food was ok. However, it is served in a sheet pan. At these prices I can actually expect to be able to eat from a decent plate. In my opinion, the Kaiserschmarren at €12.50 is completely overpriced. It was served in a pan where not even the bottom was covered with Kaiserschmarren. As a portion size for a dessert, it's completely sufficient, but the price should be closer to €8.50, then it'll be fine. In my opinion everything is a bit too expensive.

Although at the time we visited it was full of people, a table was quickly found and in a very good location. The schnitzel perfectly cooked (only Germans and Austrians know how...), the salad just as good, as well as the meat balls. The main dishes with potatoes. And what can one say about the beer? Reasonable prices. All this for around 60 euros. The area is perfect. If you find yourself in Berlin, don't ignore it

Good Bavarian food with generous potions, and quick service. A good selection of beer. Not a lot of atmoshere, however a good place to grab a meal close to other tourist sites.

Good beer, meh food, but why is it that whenever waiters hear English they shout loudly and proudly at the end of your meal "The tip isn't included"? I go to the same restaurant with friends speaking German or Italian or Franch, get the same waiter and they don't try to take advantage of us assuming we're American. Shame on you.

Stopped in for a quick beer before closing. Being from the USA we don’t get kegs/bottles this fresh. Both the pils and Helles were fantastic. They accommodated me to have a another quickly before closing

The service was super slow, chaotic and a bit rude, after almost 25 minutes at the table we didn't get anything...we left thirsty and hungry..

After 40 minutes when the waitress just kept telling us she would be back in a minute and was unable to order us food or drinks we left. We also had to bring our own menus. I don't know what the food was like but I haven't seen such unpleasant and slow service in a long time.

When the waiter realized we were French, he promptly showed us the exit. Talk about taking French exit a whole new level.

Zero attention to the clients. With particular indifference towards the tourists and newcomers. Shiny surface with poor staff attitude. Not recommended.

After waiting 10 minutes, we finally sat down because no one came to see us. We found an empty table. 5 minutes later, a waiter came to see us and told us that the table was reserved. Thank you for the welcome and goodbye.

Whether it was beer recommendations or prompt service, Leon had everything under control and always a smile on his face. This is what makes dining fun! We'd love to come back.

Came for a quick lunch. The place is nicely renovated with cozy ambiance. Other than that, nothing to highlight .

the sausage salad can't be any smaller... otherwise you'll miss it... momseneck was better, cheaper and the portions were also good...

Went here for dinner during the lunch break. Visually very nicely done, the food was unfortunately just about average. Probably a restaurant primarily for tourists. My soup could have been a ready-made soup, the pretzel was dry, the spaetzle also tasted like a mediocre ready-made product. Certainly quite comfortable for drinking pure beer.

We met friends for dinner here. The kids enjoyed it and of course we did too. Schnitzel with fries on top, schnitzel with spaetzle on top, dumplings with red cabbage on top, sausage salad with fresh pretzel on top. Everything was delicious. Thanks for that.

The food was very spicy, so I had to cool my mouth with some water(200cl). But the food was quickly on the table, that is actually my only positive remark.

Excellent traditional Bavarian dishes, like schnitzels, sausages, and dumplings. Delicious and authentic. Decent service – usually polite and fast, but can be less attentive during busy times. Cozy and pleasant, with typical Bavarian decor. Great for group gatherings or family dinners.

Aliyah is the best waitress in the world.

Ordered the pork knuckle ("Schweinhaxe)" and skin was crispy and flavorful. The meat was a plain, but the dish is served with the pork drippings and that elevated the pork meat to the next level. Sadly, the knödel (which i was also greatly looking forward to) was plain for my liking. Again the drippings helped out with that. The Sauerkraut was very good. I'm not usually a fan, but it was the perfect balance to this savory/fatty dish! Caution this dish may take some time for the kitchen to prepare. Service was attentive and helpful. Nothing above and beyond, but cannot fault :). Dog friendly and also allowed inside.

The staff is a 10/10 and keeps the brewery in business. The food is an absolute disaster, the schnitzel is ready-made in the oven, the meat patties are also dry lumps prepared in the oven. None of this has anything to do with Bavarian food. The ambience would certainly be better if countless green plants hadn't been placed on and next to the tables. Thanks to the waiter and his assistants, but you can completely forget about the food. The prices are a disgrace for the quality of the food.

Yesterday we went to the Paulaner at the end of our Berlin trip. We were served very friendly. Unfortunately the taste of the food was not good. Chicken not cooked through, sausage salad without salad dressing, schnitzel very thin and dry. The portions were small and way too expensive. Too bad.

This is my favorite beer! And when I'm in Germany, I can't help but visit this place.

We were there with the department for the beginning of the year celebration. Well organized event with 3 courses and drinks flat rate. We were initially 70 people due to illness and then only 60 people. No problem at all and I can absolutely recommend it for larger groups.

Very expensive compared to other Berlin restaurants…

I’ve been to many Paulaner restos in different parts of Germany and enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this branch left a bitter taste in my mouth. My German friend was speaking to one of the waiters to get us a table for 2 - “Einen Tisch für mich und das Geburtstagskind (pointing and referring to me because it was my birthday) bitte”. The waiter replied with “Hier gibt es nichts umsonst” and then unenthusiastically pointed at a table. To imply that we were looking for free stuff was totally unnecessary and rude. We stayed because we always want to be the bigger people in situations like this. However, the restaurant should be made aware of this kind of behavior from their personnel.

It is a personal assessment of the type of franchise restaurants, impersonal, large and noisy. The staff's attention was quick and the beer was good but it seemed expensive for a couple of plates of sausages, a beer, water and bread (57 euros)

The Paulaner Wirtshaus is located on the ground floor and is easily accessible in a central location, which gives it 5 points. Unfortunately, the ambience is modern and has absolutely nothing to do with coziness. The checkered Bavarian tablecloths don't make a difference either. Our nice Asian waitress deserves 5 points. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly sophisticated either. If you go there with your friends and drink a delicious beer, everything I wrote here will soon be forgotten 😉

Bavarian ambience, in the middle of Berlin. Delicious food and drinks. Friendly service.

It is a known chain originating from Munich, but it is on the expensive side (even compared to Munich). The portion size vs. price is a bit disappointing.

First of all, I was born in Bavaria. I was invited there with a group of Americans. Unfortunately, the food there has little to do with hearty Bavarian cuisine. Many finished products, e.g. B. Potato salad. I had a schnitzel with fries. The schnitzel is rock hard and dry, the fries are deep fried. Also all finished products, no fresh schnitzel. The prices are high (22€, Wiener Schnitzel 30€, Radlerhalbe 5.60€). The Nuremberg bratwursts were shriveled and dry, as if they had been fried and then kept warm. The small salad drowned in ready-made dressing, I couldn't eat it. The beer was poured very poorly, without a head of foam (maybe warm glasses were used?). I was almost a bit ashamed that the Americans thought: this is Bavaria. I am proud of my origins and the tradition in Bavaria, unfortunately this has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately I don't recommend it. I have to mention the service positively! Very good.
