We spent 8 days in Berlin and tried different restaurants. This is the best German food restaurant in Berlin in terms of food quality and client service. Delicious food and friendly waiter and manager. I found a photo of the waiter who helped us this evening and here he is. We highly recommend this restaurant.

After a mixed first experience, I had the opportunity to have lunch again in this restaurant. And what a joy it was, the manager is very friendly and listens to his customers and the servers this day were friendly. The cuisine is good and local, a good opportunity to discover German restaurants on this well-known square in Berlin!

Beer is great, food not so much…. Bad mashed potatos and cabbage… meat was mid

The beer was dull and expensive! The restaurant and toilets were very dirty. The store was only half full and we weren't asked if we wanted to eat for 35 minutes. The cards were extremely sticky and after we went to the toilet we happily skipped eating. This is really just a bad tourist rip-off! Please avoid, there are great alternatives!

Good location at Potsdamer Platz and that is the only good thing I can say about this restaurant. Slow service, overpriced and disappointing food. 15 EUR for a wurst with uneatable french fries is too much.

I only drank something there, didn't eat anything. But the staff is very friendly and accommodating! The ambience is also right. There are several beers on tap - including the Oktoberfest beer. I liked that best! Prices are decent... But the location is also decent! Nice shop!

I love the photos of German food, they are beautiful, it's a shame that when you try it it is completely boring and tasteless in general. This place is certainly no exception. I do not recommend it, but I see from the reviews that I am not the majority. I think that in Germany in general one should look for food from other parts of the world.

Food was OK, but nothing special, unfortunately very expensive and mass-produced. ADDENDUM: The managing director contacted me and wanted to know what we didn't like, that's what I call great service if he takes care of it himself to possibly improve something, hats off!

However, there was one small downside – as soon as the pork arrived at our table, it seemed to attract a swarm of bees. It was a bit bothersome, and we had to keep shooing them away while trying to enjoy the meal. Despite this minor inconvenience, the quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere made up for it. Overall, Paulaner Wirtshaus Berlin offers an excellent taste of Bavarian cuisine in the heart of Berlin. If you can overlook the occasional bee buzz, you’re in for a superb experience. I’ll definitely be back!

The food tasted excellent. The knuckle was so extremely crispy that you could probably hear every bite all over Berlin. The sauce was also amazing. Schnitzel with fries was rather average. Unfortunately drinks were a bit too warm. Unfortunately the prices are really hefty. It remains to be seen whether €30 has to be paid for a knuckle. It was always delicious.

I went with my family after a long bike ride through the Tiergarten. The beer was very good, the waiters were friendly and the food was quite good, typical German. A good place for the area it is in. High price

Well that was nothing... Food at most lukewarm, Nuremberg sausages and knuckle dried out, potato salad out of the bucket, red cabbage inedible… So given the prices quoted, I expect much better… Service was okay Won't go there anymore...

The place is nice and the food is good but if to the question about the ribs, defined as a "plate to share", "they are enough for 2 people (they cost €36!)" you answer yes only to then discover that they are barely enough for one, I'm a little pissed off... For the rest, I repeat, nothing to complain about

Very well located but super rude staff

There were four of us there. During the meal we found a piece of a plastic bag in the sauerkraut - I would not have expected sauerkraut from a bag in a brewery with upscale prices. The salad plate for €21 consisted half of potato salad from the bucket. When I told the waiter how disappointed I was to get bucket potato salad for €21, he was understanding and visibly embarrassed. A short time later he came back and, after consulting with the manager, explained to us that all food and drinks were on the house. This is of course a really accommodating gesture. Nevertheless, I am writing this honest review because I find the Paulaner to be a real tourist rip-off. If convenience food, then please disclose and accordingly lower prices. Does Paulaner really need to offer convenience food at excessive prices, really?

The dishes were tasty and there is a wide choice of beer. The staff works hard, but I have the feeling that they are short-staffed or simply cannot cope when it is busy. However, the staff is friendly and professional. Not 5 stars because the chairs are so hard that you want to leave after 20 minutes. This applies to both indoors and outdoors. Such a shame! Very nicely decorated restaurant and those uncomfortable wooden chairs without cushions. Would definitely come back here if only for the delicious dessert. What I did miss on the menu is apple strudel?!

Always, if you want to have good and authentic Schweinshaxe, come to Paulaner. The environment was not bad and the dress on waiter/waitress was cute :)

We were in this restaurant yesterday and the service was courteous and quick. The staff was very friendly and was able to deal with short-term changes well. Simply a great team. Feel free to come back at any time.

Had great food ordered a chicken schnitzel and half a chicken Experience was made much worse due to the waiter, Vincent, who was just not answering us and a bit rude. He seemed engaging and smiling with many other tables so it felt a bit targeted towards us

When we reserved a table the day before, we noticed that there was no friendliness. This wasn't any better the following day, but even worse from staff to staff. Drinks order was only placed after 25 minutes. recorded. Meanwhile, there were only 9 tables occupied outside. For dinner we ordered a pork schnitzel and hot Paula (currywurst). The schnitzel was more like a throwing star or shoe sole (very crispy). The fries were only seasoned in places and then too much so that the lips burned from the salt. The curry sauce is similar to tomato puree. Basically too expensive. Unfortunately not recommended. Maybe you'll have better luck.

This is a place where the waiters would rather chat with other people than pay attention to you.

We ate there three times and we all agreed, NEVER AGAIN!! Absolute tourist rip-off (we're from Berlin ourselves), so you'd better look for an authentic restaurant on the outskirts. Both the red cabbage and the sauerkraut tasted like fuel. The knuckle was also hard to enjoy... it's definitely not worth stopping here just for the beer!!

I went to drink at this fantastic place. The environment was large, bright and quiet, the perfect place to take a break. One aspect that I appreciated the most was the SPECTACULAR service given to us by the very kind, cheerful and efficient waiter Ebrima. He gave us a lot of information about the city and what the restaurant offered. I highly recommend it, I would happily go back!!!

Although initially there was a problem in agreeing on the table where we can sit, the food was very good and the staff polite. I note that the menu is also in English.

Food and bier is great, in the summer they have lots of outdoor seating and the atmosphere is really nice. Food output from the kitchen is unfortunately slow. Service: there was one waiter who worked really hard the whole time we were there, and about 5 or 6 colleagues who hardly did anything. The one hard working guy deserves all the tips, his colleagues deserve to be fired.

Food was nice, if a bit overpriced compared to elsewhere. I'm really getting tired of being asked for tips. I'll tip what I feel is appropriate, not how much you suggest. And I'm also not falling for the "Oh, I appear to not have enough change" routine either.

I highly recommend ordering a beer sample so you can choose the one you like best. I really liked Hell beer. Pretzel was a wonderful surprise, I highly recommend it. I had a Bavarian Caesar salad which was very good. The tables outside on cool days are great to enjoy.

It looks nice there but that was the only positive thing about our visit. The drinks order was taken and delivered relatively quickly. Unfortunately, instead of two cyclists, there were only two beers who gave a friendly wave to the Sprite in the fridge. After we sat there with our "shandy" for a while, we were asked if we wanted to eat something and the menus were then brought to us. Here we had to wait a while again until our order was taken. (It wasn't full in the inn) Of course, we waited for half an eternity for the pork schnitzel we ordered and then got a wafer-thin, barely-there slice of pork in breading and unsalted fries for €22 each. (and apparently also as a children's portion) The "mushroom cream sauce" ordered with it for an additional €3.50 each also probably had an identity crisis, as it arrived at the table as a hunter's sauce with pure chopped champions. When I asked the waiter, the only comment was “yes, the sauce is a bit thin” and he ran away with one of the two sauces. After 10 minutes he came back with the same sauce in which only a sip of cream was poured. When we paid he took the sauces off of us, but we will definitely never eat there again.

It's a pity that our amazing beer time yesterday was spoiled by the hughe slap that the waiter manager gave to the one of the female workers on her private parts without her agreeing. He did just in front of everyone acting like a complete moron. Hope he gets fired and the female worker gets the treatment she deserves.

I would like to give one more star for the service because I found the staff to be very helpful, professional and friendly. Unfortunately, my food was initially served completely cold and I then told the waiter this. He apologized several times and I received my new dish without any problems, this time at a perfect temperature and with excellent taste. When we got the bill, we were amazed when the waiter informed us that my dish would not be charged because of their mistake. That was almost a bit unpleasant for me, because of course I would have paid it anyway. But you realize that guest satisfaction is still the top priority here. Therefore definitely 5 stars!

We just stopped in for a lunch snack. The “Paulaner Trio Würstl” turned out to be a good enough snack, was very tasty and had a good price-performance ratio. However, you should order a pretzel with it if you don't want to eat the sausage "pure". The pretzels are big and warm. The sausage salad was also good and sufficient. Very friendly, fast service. Despite the proximity to the intersection, you can sit outside comfortably and quietly and away from the hustle and bustle.

Better meals available in Berlin. Think of this as chain pub food. Quick convenience and price isn't the cheapest but OK.

This place is proof of how even a relatively nice establishment can be completely ruined by its lazy attitude of the service. After arriving it took some time to get our menu. It took a good 20 minutes before we even ordered. Even here, the staff couldn't bring the order correctly - 2 beers and 1 tea, we got one beer less. We were kind of wondering if we should even stay here with such a wait (we waited another good 15-20 minutes for those 2 drinks!), but we still ordered 2 more beers. We didn't get them at all, the staff obviously forgot about us completely. At this point my patience ran out and I asked for the bill. To top it all off, the bill was also wrong because instead of 1 tea and 1 beer, there were 2 beers on it, the one we didn't get. We won't be coming back here. Edit after the reaction: the word "lazy" which was lost in translation does not mean "lazy", but "indifferent". I note that there were not that many guests, and everyone around us was served normally. Up to us.

Beer tastes good. However, that’s the only positive thing I can say about this place. A portion of fries for 6,50 is understandable for this location but the quality of the fries was awful - one can feel that they weren’t fresh and were directly taken from the freezer. Customer service is rock bottom! The waiters are unfriendly, especially one of them that gives you the attitude all the time. We ordered two water and he tried to give us a table water and argued 3 times that we said table water. You can’t properly charge your phone for free EVEN WOTH YOUR OWN CHARGER. They will ask you to use their charging box and pay money for it. Last but not least, we waited 15 minutes for 2 beers. I don’t recommend it to anybody.

Food slightly pricey compared to other similar restaurants but it was very tasty and the service was good.

We drank some beers with friends and colleagues, we were a very large group to watch the Spain-Italy match. There was space outdoors for many people and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Unfortunately the person who served us, perhaps impatient because we didn't speak German, was extremely rude to me and other friends when paying.

We were group of 4 seated in half full restaurant waiter took our order and told us we will wait for food around 30 minutes, after 45 minutes we asked when will our food come and were told its soon. After 1h 20 minutes we payed for our drinks got up and left, with no apology whatsoever. Avoid this place

The beer garden of displeasure! The only thing that brings people here is the location and the name “Paulaner”. There probably won't be a second time here for anyone. You wait 10-15 minutes for the waiter and another for the beer. I wait more than 60 minutes for pretzels with Obazda (I didn't like it) and only get it when asked. Admittedly .. very good pretzel!! 2. Measurement, wait again after ordering. I actually want to get out of here. Toilet paper in the boxes would also be good. Paulaner wanted to close the store. A shame!!!

Relatively high price for the dishes and recipes offered

The salad wasn't very good, nor were the fries. The strawberry juice tastes like a flavor enhancer and the tables are sticky. It also costs a lot.

Completely exorbitant prices and average quality!!! We were shocked by the prices and thought “okay, if the quality is right”. Well, unfortunately the quality was more like that of a snack bar. The schnitzel was the size of a children's portion and cost a whopping €22.00. My sausage salad didn't even have dressing and I paid €11.00 for the small bowl. We were at the Hofbräu am Alex a few days earlier. There we got three times the size for the same money and the quality was significantly better.

Great place to stop by for food. Currywurst was delicious and the beer which is brewed by the restaurant was very tasty as well. Highly recommend.

I've already been to a few Paulaner restaurants, but unfortunately I can't say much positive about them other than that the atmosphere is modern and appealing and the service also tried to make sure we had a nice evening. The choice of food was not very Bavarian. Typical dishes such as roast pork or a Schäuferle were missing, but we were looking forward to a Bavarian snack that we ordered for 2-3 people (price 43€) alongside normal butter cheese, ham, and a not very Bavarian Obatzda and meat salad, there was mainly salad and 1 pretzel for three people. Especially at this price, I think that's a shame for a Paulaner as I've rarely been disappointed in other Paulaner restaurants. I probably won't visit this restaurant again in Berlin.

Absolutely crazy. Food partially spilled out in the bag. Fried potatoes were just half potatoes. Kaiserschmarrn, well I can't even describe what that was supposed to be. Simply baked mountains of flour. ..flavoured with fruit. There was also a spilled cup of red jelly, and the other empty cup showed that there might have been applesauce in it. For the 62 euros you could really have expected something other than that

Tourist trap! Ordering food not possible! Update: Since the restaurant replied that we wanted to place a food order at 7 p.m., we were put off with the next condition, and at 8 p.m. we were informed that no more food could be ordered. The beer order also took half an hour too long. I don't know anything like that in any pub in Munich. For the hefty prices you should find enough better selection in Berlin…

Well, we wanted to reserve a table by phone, whereupon we were told that it wasn't necessary. Then arrive at the restaurant and get the smallest table in the far corner. The food was just average, the service was totally understaffed and therefore only sufficient. We wouldn't go there again.
