Paulaner Bräuhaus in München

One of the best pubs to drink beer at will, we stopped today for lunch and I must say the service was a bit slow with the girl who didn't make herself understood very well, we tried various types of dishes but nothing special, we have eaten much better in other places, the place is very large with lots of seating, and the price is quite high for the quality of the things they offered us, on the other hand I liked the beer much more full-bodied than the others I tried these days during my stay in Germany.

The service is excellent. The food is good value for money.

Huge, beautiful location. I enjoyed the neighborhood feeling this one had, more chill than downtown. Great Weißwurst, good beer, nice garden area.

The atmosphere is very nice at first glance, but then it's nothing special. The beer isn't very satisfying considering we're in Munich. The service is adequate but not overly warm. The prices are above average.

I've been there a few times during the week for lunch and took advantage of the lunch special. The prices are more than reasonable; paying less than €30 for two people is rare these days. Since we don't have a huge selection as vegetarians, we usually end up having the Kaasspatzn. They taste really, really good, and the salad is always delicious, too! I need to revise my review, as we had no luck with the food and service last time. The Kaasspatzn were completely slimy, and the service was very slow and unfriendly. We probably won't be coming back for a while.

I've been here several times before and have always been very satisfied, especially with the food and beer. However, yesterday we were in the beer garden with a larger group and wanted to get a larger table. The waiters (the gentlemen who were serving outside) were very unfriendly. Even when I suggested that we could perhaps just put two tables together if we weren't allowed to sit in the self-service area, there was no real response. Only that the waiters had discussed among themselves whether this was possible. Unfortunately, it left a very bad and unfriendly impression. When I asked if they could offer the full menu at lunch, they told me that it wasn't possible today because they were expecting a larger group, and we were almost the only large group in the beer garden the whole time. The food was still delicious, and the price (lunch menu) was very good, but there was a lack of variety and more options, such as a simple schnitzel with fries or something similar. The portions could have been a bit larger. I just want to emphasize again that the service and the waiters' unfriendliness are truly unacceptable! Their manner also makes you feel as if you don't matter or that you shouldn't have even come.

We were at Paulaner in Munich again and were served by Deniss again – simply fantastic! It was pleasantly quiet in the restaurant, we had time to enjoy ourselves, and Deniss looked after us gently, kindly, and very courteously. His calm demeanor made the visit even more enjoyable. We ordered potato wedges and chocolate mousse, both of which were truly delicious! As always, we are completely satisfied and would gladly return. A big thank you to Deniss for the great service!

Great Brauhaus! Beer and food is amazing. Recomend the Weis or kellar beer.

We decided to try the Paulaner Brauhaus, one of my favourite German Beers, we arrived and found a decidedly empty restaurant, I spoke to an employee and he said to take a seat, we sat inside and a server, who was attending to a larger party , threw us a couple of menus and disappeared and never returned. We sat for 15-20 mins and still no server. We seen the same server with other customer and obviously weren’t important enough. So we left and headed to the HB brauhaus. Where there is a better atmosphere and better service.

We stopped for the beer but ate also. Really nice place. Biergarten not as happening as some but the beer is awesome and food was really good.

Speaking for the "waited" beer garden. Food good Beer great. But: The waiters seem to be assigned to tables. So you try to make eye contact with the waiters, which they professionally ignore. A simple "I'll send my colleague" seems too much to ask. They simply look away. A gastronomic no-go. Since the waiters in charge are actually very friendly, they only get one deduction.

We sat down in a 50% empty beer garden as a group of 10 people and waited 30 minutes for a cellar doorman, who then only gave us four tickets. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we left, but tables were served before us. Never again!!!

Cheese spaetzle with vegetable broth and obviously industrially produced dumplings—I don't think I need to say more. Very friendly service. There are far better places to eat in breweries in Munich.

The food was good and the surroundings beautiful, but my overall experience was disappointing. The service was rough, mechanical, and impersonal. We were spoken to in a harsh tone by an older waiter who clearly seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else. Considering the price, I would have expected to be treated with basic courtesy. I had heard good things about this place before coming, but unfortunately, I was left very disappointed and won’t be returning.

I paid 800 Euros and didn't get my desert.

Sehr schöner Biergarten in Innenstadtlage. Zum Standard Bierangenot werden auch saisonale Biersorten angeboten wie z. B. Vitali (leichtes Sommerweizen mit einer leichten Zitronennote) oder Basilikum Zitronen Weißen. Die halbe Haxe mit zweierlei Knödel in Biersauce sowie das Urkornrisotto mit wildem Brokkoli und grünen Spargel. Zum Abschluss ist in jedem Fall der Kaiserschmarrn für 2 Personen zu empfehlen, wobei wir den zu viert geteilt haben.

⚠️Scammed⚠️. Ok food but poor service, topped up by a EUR 30 scam on the total sum. We were asked if we wanted a receipt which we didn’t find necessary. When discussing the total sum walking away from there we concluded that it wasn’t reasonable. We decided to go back to confront the waiter, who claimed that it was “an error”. Didn’t feel trustworthy at all. Eat and spend your money elsewhere!

Eh - compared to your other big brewery options (Augustiner, Lowenbrau, etc.), I would skip Paulaner. We came on a Sunday evening and it was pretty dead. They were out of both the beer and the main course that I tried to order. Service was awful (even by European standards), and despite this our waiter had the audacity to strong-arm us into paying a tip … probably because we are American (despite us living in Europe). Beer was fine, food was fine, overall experience was disappointing. Not at all worth it, go somewhere more fun!

This is a brewery directly operated by Paulaner, a representative German beer brewery established in Munich. Paulaner is one of the few German beers that I personally enjoy and know, so I wanted to visit it more than the three major breweries. Unlike other famous breweries, it is a little bit away from Marienplatz, the center of Munich, but it is not too far to visit. I visited around 3 or 4 pm and only had one beer without food. It is quite large in size with a large beer hall along with the brewery, and if you make a reservation on the website, you can tour the brewery in detail. However, it seems that the tour is not conducted very often. As I said earlier, I only had one glass (1 liter) and the beer I ordered was an unfiltered lager called Zwickel. It is a house beer that you can only find at this brewery, and it was the most delicious carbonated honey water in the world. It was so carbonated that I wondered if it was really a lager, but it had a sweetness reminiscent of honey, a savory taste of malt, and a soft body. As with all German beers, the flavor that was delivered was very strong. If I had eaten it with German food like sausage or Schweinshaxe, the taste would have been overshadowed and the pairing would have been bad. I was thinking about having one more drink, but I got up heavy because I had to go eat currywurst. PS. Paulaner is love!

Just a really bad attitude from the waitress. Everything seemed to be a major inconvenience for her. We tried to be friendly, but it was completely in vain. They don’t serve Pommes, Halbes Hendl or Pork Schnitzel (only Wiener which is expensive). We were offered a “once off” pork schnitzel but were sternly warned not to attempt to order it again. I did not think we were mega-demanding. I expect stellar service and a sense of warmness if I pay money to eat out, especially at those prices. Needless to say we will not be back, but I am sure neither the waitress nor management care in the slightest.

Very good food, service very attentive, friendly, and fast. The noise level was quite high, as is typical in a Munich brewery with lots of customers. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable.

The service in Biergarten was really bad. It seems they would prefer not having guests rather than working a bit. Long discussions about reserved tables while many around are available but need a quick cleaning. Waiter who keeps pushing for the order. We are then moved to another table which is wet from the rain, and the waiter asks us to dry ourselves the table... I have never experienced this attitude before.

Great to return here after so many years -- of course the beer is still top notch, served in a beautiful space. Most memorable, however, was the absolute best Spargel I had that week (and I tried 4 different places): toothsome without being stringy, slightly nutty, with a delicate sweetness. I finally get why Spargel is such a well revered treat.

A good brewery with a small but fine menu. The Heu Radler is excellent. Something different. Good Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and excellent Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). Very friendly service, too. As in most larger breweries, it can get a bit noisy here, but that didn't bother us.

An excellent waiter who always keeps an eye on things, is attentive, manages tasks in parallel, and coordinates. Hopefully, the host knows what he has in this expert! The Bavarian cuisine tastes good, and there's plenty of room in this classic inn. So, definitely give it a try 👍

Tucked away in the heart of Munich, Paulaner Bräuhaus felt less like a tourist trap and more like a hidden temple of Bavarian flavor. The atmosphere was authentic—no frills, just hearty food, smooth beer, and the warm clatter of locals enjoying the evening. I’ve braved jungle snakes and booby traps, but nothing hits quite like a cold pint and roast pork after a long day of adventure. If you’re looking for a great spot to rest your weary bones and enjoy a proper dinner, this place belongs in a museum… but I’m glad it’s not.

Weisswurst flop. Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. According to the waiter, the kitchen was busy, but the restaurant was only moderately busy. In any case, the white sausages took almost an hour and weren't even hot. Unable to fit the three sausages ordered together, the 3rd arrived after about another 15 minutes. But - they were good! (If you're hungry...) Conclusion: It's better to stay away from the attractive Weisswurst offer (until 5 p.m., two pieces with a pretzel approx. €8) Paulaner beer... oh well. 2nd time there was no butter for the pretzel. I regularly can't understand any decorative knick-knacks in the windows. Decent tables and benches.

Rustic brewery with a really good atmosphere and classic Bavarian food. Light beer from the tap tastes great, the pork knuckle was crispy – I would have it again.

Outside the centre, compared to other pubs, this one is much more well looked after, which is probably also why the prices are a little higher. Fortunately the service was not painful as it happened in the others and, what should not be underestimated, the cutlery was clean. Maybe a little less characteristic than the others but it was the one where I found myself best.

It's made for groups. All the normal tables have fictitious reservations on them, in case a group comes in, so if you are a couple, or single, you need to go to the high tables by the entrance (which have a much shittier atmosphere). The food is all right, and so is the bier, but the overall feel is very touristy. I also witnessed my waitress bringing me my food, then stopping with it to chat with someone while holding the plate, quite unprofessional. Also, it's 2025, it wouldn't kill you to serve in less than 0.5l, not all of us need 1l beer picks for Instagram.

The beer is many times better than in the groceries. The excursion is interesting, a nice place.

The food is not up to par. Absolutely not. We ordered so many things and they were all tasteless or too salty. It's an assembly line unfortunately. The waiters are friendly at least here, much better than other famous pubs where they are rude and sometimes aggressive. The kaiserschmarn looked good but the waiter wanted to add alcohol and flambé it. I also took it away but it smelled of petrol unfortunately. Too bad. The place is beautiful.

Was little off the main tourist areas. The staff was friendly and helpful for English-speaking members. We couldn't get a reservation and they still sat us. Beer and food both very good. Service was quick.

During our visit to the Paulaner Bräuhaus we had a great tour with a really friendly gentleman and the food and drinks were very tasty. However, we were really disappointed with the service. A waiter (presumably the boss) was very unfriendly and you had the feeling of not being welcome. First, they forgot to check out our food, so we had to wait a long time. There wasn't even an apology. Later, when paying, he disrespectfully threw the change on the table in front of us. The waiter should really work on his friendliness (especially if he works in the catering industry!!), as his behavior made it really uncomfortable. Also, thank you and please would also be appropriate.

Place was recommended by the hotel where we stay and my husband was curious about the beer. We made an order for a drink and decided to have a cigarette before ordering the food, waiter stopped us on the way to the door and told us to leave credits card on the bar or document but because we are just a tourists and the last thing we want is someone copy information about card so we decided to leave. It feels strange when waiter think that you gonna run away becaise of one drink

Hello hello, the location is nice, comfortably furnished and the service staff is friendly and helpful. Food and drinks nothing exceptional, food is good but could be improved. For example, the sauce from the roast pork was unfortunately too thin and watery for my taste. Unfortunately, the dumplings are too small and the bread dumpling is unfortunately too hard for my taste and doesn't have that loose consistency. Still remain with kind regards

Visited on a Sunday at noon. The service was good and the food came out very quickly. I had the Zwickl Beer and the pork knuckle. The pork knuckle was massive and came with two types of dumplings and cabbage salad. Everything was excellent.

Waited for half an hour, was not served. The wait staff were busy chatting with each other.

New Year's Eve evening spent here, good dishes, the cheek I got was exceptional, the spatzle were nothing special however. Excellent beers, excellent service and a beautiful venue. Advise!

I got lost and ordered the Edelstoff von Augustiner, but the waiter corrected me with a friendly smile and explained that they have other beers than Paulaner. (Excuse me!) Even though the kitchen was already closed, he still tried to find me a pretzel - and he actually found one - because I was hungry at 10 p.m. The light was excellent. It could even be brewed here in their own tanks. The interior is beautiful and very clean.

Durante mi viaje a Munich, supe que tenía que visitar las siguientes salas de cerveza: Agustín, Hofbräuhaus, Schneider y Paulaner. Dejé a Paulaner para el final, y no me equivoqué. En mi opinión, Paulaner es una cervecería que probablemente debería estar entre las tres mejores marcas de cerveza del mundo. La camarera era increíblemente amable y atento. Achtung: Kommentierung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf den Aussenbereich/Biergarten. Größe, Lage und Service des "Biergartens" (mit Bedienung) sind durchschnittlich. Das Preisniveau der Getränke liegt im ambitionierten Bereich (Die Mass Bier kostete 2024 10,20 Euro nach 9,80 Euro in 2023). Der "Biergarten" liegt eingezwängt zwischen hohen Wohnhäusern, was einer typisch gemütlichen Biergartenatmosphäre abträglich ist.

Cené aquí con amigos y tuve una gran experiencia. El ambiente es de lujo y agradable, y la sala fue decorada para Navidad a mediados de diciembre. El servidor era educado y ofrecía menús en alemán / inglés, lo que fue útil. La comida fue servida fresca en una cantidad razonable de tiempo. Por supuesto, la cerveza de barril ayudó a pasar el tiempo mientras se preparaba la comida. Llegamos en la tarde temprano con una reserva y el lugar no estaba ocupado. Había más clientes llegando cuando terminamos. La comida fue memorable y volvería a comer aquí si tengo la oportunidad de volver a Munich.

Great food and service, it was very fast and not very full during our stay. When we were ordering our bill, a massive group came in and the place got a bit hectic, overall good experience.

They have the best beer ever with their Lager! I've tried 6 breweries while in Munich and this is the best one! Their pork knuckle is also tasty. The vibe in the Brauhaus is also very chill. One note of improvement is the service, the place isn't very busy when we dined in but the staff are not very attentive, especially the male staff assigned to our area. Thankfully there was this wonderful lady who was more attentive than the others.

Traditional, cozy and long-established. The price is in the upper range, but this can be calculated by the good quality of the food and the name of the cult brewery. Personal recommendation: Schnitzel from the forest, with cranberry jam and fried potatoes

Simon's service was excellent. Drinks were served quickly and the food was delicious and high quality. Orders included deer schnitzel, knuckle and, as a highlight, flambéed Kaiserschmarren. The atmosphere was super cozy. I would definitely come back.

Authentically furnished brewery restaurant. The beer is really tasty. When it comes to food, you shouldn't set your culinary expectations too high. The service is quick and quite friendly. The four stars are for the beer, and a maximum of three stars for the food.

Good food with miserable service. Very long waiting times for food and drinks even though it wasn't full. We received a drink and then we weren't asked again. When we wanted to tip ONLY €5, we were told that we could ONLY leave €5... without a thank you... please and goodbye. We won't be coming back!
