I've been there several times now, tried many things, and everything tastes excellent; some dishes are still really good, and I haven't had anything bad yet. The atmosphere is fantastic, and you don't have to wait long. I'll definitely be back often!

An absolutely fantastic experience! My visits to the Georgian restaurant GEMRIELI were simply outstanding. The food was incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, and bursting with authentic Georgian flavors. I especially recommend the Khinkali and Khachapuri – truly exceptional! The service was friendly, attentive, and very professional. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel instantly at ease. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We were here for the first time, as we live in another city. We showed up without a reservation, and a pleasant young man greeted us and quickly offered us a table for four. We ordered kharcho, khinkali, pork shashlik, and adjaruli khachapuri, and everything was amazing 😋 delicious. We'll definitely be back whenever we visit Leipzig. Unfortunately, we had a table right next to the entrance. It was loud and very noisy. The service was rather reserved, the food took some getting used to, but as my wife said, the best thing was the wine! The restaurant's ambiance is very nice, but parking is difficult to find.

Dear Team, On November 1, 2025, four of us dined at your restaurant. I had reserved a table in advance for 7:00 p.m. Upon our arrival, however, there seemed to be no preparation, nor was our reservation recorded. We were initially seated at an uncovered round table near the kitchen. After about 15 minutes, we were asked to move to another table, set for only two people – even though there were four of us. At the beginning of our meal, I had mentioned that it was my father-in-law's birthday and asked for a slice of cake with a candle. The server confirmed that this was possible but failed to mention that this dessert would later be added to the final bill. Had I known this, I would, of course, have paid for the cake myself in advance. Such details should always be communicated openly and clearly. Guests come to celebrate a special occasion and should not have to deal with such misunderstandings. Unfortunately, the disappointment continued with the meal itself. We are not new guests at your restaurant – we have dined there several times and often recommended you. Therefore, we know exactly how your dishes are usually served. This time, however, both the quality and the presentation were significantly worse than usual. Since our table was quite small, I asked for the main courses to be placed in the center. First, four khinkali and one adjaruli arrived – the latter was so overloaded with cheese that the bottom was translucent, and the egg was only half-cooked. But the real shock came with the main courses: two portions of shashlik and two portions of lamb skewers (lula kebab). The plates contained only some salad, four halved cherry tomatoes, and about nine small pieces of meat sprinkled with onions. As the restaurant was busy, we could clearly see that other guests were receiving larger portions. We asked several times if our order was complete and each time received confirmation that everything had been served. When we asked for the lavash, which is usually served with the lula kebab, it only arrived after some time, along with dry bread – with the explanation that the waitress had specifically requested it from the kitchen. I was truly surprised. I have photos from my previous visits to your restaurant and know exactly how your dishes are usually presented. In the end, we received a bill for €186. This amount would have been perfectly acceptable if the quality, quantity, and service had matched the price – unfortunately, that was not the case. Despite our disappointment, we calmly ended our evening and paid everything correctly, but we left very disappointed. It was a special occasion for our family, and we wanted to introduce our parents to your cuisine and culture. Unfortunately, the evening was severely marred by the circumstances described. We will not be recommending your restaurant for the time being and probably won't be visiting again ourselves. Highly recommended. Simple, excellent cuisine that will more than satisfy you. The ambiance is fantastic. I found it remarkable how all the staff served every guest so friendly, despite the restaurant being completely full. You'd wish for service like this anywhere. Keep it up!

We were there yesterday and it was an absolute dream. Great food, a fantastic restaurant, huge portions, and all in all, an absolute dream. Now comes the star deduction... €35 per person for a small starter, drinks, and main course is quite a statement. €80 with tip for two people is awful, even for a big city. No matter how delicious and top-notch the portions were, you can't always afford that. Otherwise, absolutely recommended, and we would come back anytime. The service also lost a star. The waiter didn't light a candle or pour the first sip of beer, which is unfortunately what I expect for €80.

We went to a Georgian restaurant, but the service was truly terrible. We had to wait a full hour for our food, and the dishes were brought one at a time with long pauses. No one informed us. Only when we asked were we given the excuse that they were "busy"—even though we had reserved the table in advance! The food arrived one after the other, was already cold, and the khachapuri was completely burnt on the bottom. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant—very disappointing!

The food was truly delicious and the restaurant appealing. The prices are quite high, however. The food was fine for us and worth it, but when we ordered an espresso at the end and saw on the bill that it cost €3.50, we were surprised... Unfortunately, that's not a reasonable price for a simple espresso.

So far the best Georgian food in Germany, and I am on the hunt. It is also one of the most expensive. Khinkali is about 3.5€ for one, kebabs from 19 up, appetizers around 10. The sodas 6€ a piece. Alltogether a dinner for two is about 100-150 euro. It is not my first visit and it will not be my last, as I said it is so far the closest to the authentic cuisine, not ideal but the closest, and I travel around the country a lot, looking along the way for a proper georgian cuisine. As it is unqestionably the best. The service, the atmosphere is good for a date, family dinner, event, business meeting and just to eat a nice meal alone. The staff is polite and helpful. There is indoor and outdoor seating in the front and in the back of the place. Street parking

There were two of us guests on Saturday, August 2nd. Yes, it was busy, but that's normal for a Saturday night. We didn't get any menus and instead took ones from the next table... The meal took 1:10 hours, and one main course arrived 10 minutes before the rest. As compensation, we were given a starter, which was nice. We weren't asked once for more drinks... and the table wasn't cleared away either. When we paid, we were told that three members of staff were absent. I totally understand that, but then you have to limit the number of guests and close off an area. But the food was very tasty and fresh! We probably won't be coming back anyway.

Nice place. Had dinner with my family. Ordered shashlik, peasant potatoes, khachapuri with suluguni, everything was very tasty. Lots of space, there are tables outside. Calm atmosphere with music, there were not many people. Service was on point. I recommend visiting.

Long waits, the wrong dish served, and no chance to order a second drink. When we tried to pay at the counter due to time pressure, we were sent back to our table. When no one came after another 10 minutes, we left cash and simply left.

Today I felt like I was in Georgia. The food was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was great, too. The staff was very friendly.

We waited over an hour for the baked dumplings, even though the place wasn't busy. A drink was completely forgotten. The dumplings were unseasoned and not recommended. We will never go here again and cannot recommend the restaurant.

First of all, I would like to emphasize that the food tastes truly excellent. Unfortunately, the prices are completely out of proportion – they are significantly inflated. Particularly disappointing, however, was the service, which is simply unacceptable in this form. Despite prior reservations and a clear agreement that the table would be prepared with a cold buffet, after a 90-minute wait, we were still sitting at our table without a single glass of water – in extreme heat, with many guests and several children. In a situation like this, you should either limit the number of guests or close the business altogether that day. The restaurant wasn't even at full capacity, and yet there was no noticeable lack of organization. When you sit right at the bar and hear everything, the whole thing seems like a disgrace to paying customers. Conclusion: Top-notch culinary, but unfortunately, a complete failure in terms of organization.

A note in advance: It's noticeable that this restaurant has almost exclusively very positive reviews. More critical reviews – including my own – have since been removed or reported and only published again after an appeal. This makes it difficult to get a realistic overall picture. Therefore, here is an objective assessment of our visit – with both positive and critical aspects. Our visit to this restaurant was overall a pleasant evening, but there were a few things you should be aware of before coming here. First of all, the parking situation is challenging, especially for out-of-towners. On Saturday evening around 7 p.m., it was almost impossible to find a parking space nearby – a real hurdle for larger groups like ours. The restaurant was full, and the staff unfortunately seemed overwhelmed. Some of the waiters were obviously new and didn't know the menu by its Georgian names or numbering. Those who ordered by number also had to memorize the name of the dish, as the assignment wasn't always clear. The order of the dishes served was also somewhat chaotic: Side dishes arrived before the appetizers and then sat for so long that they became cold. Furthermore, used plates weren't always cleared promptly. The food itself was fine, but the unclear menu made ordering a bit of a gamble. One appetizer didn't arrive until the very end, and the bread in the bread basket was unfortunately cold and rather unspectacular in taste. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant primarily to connoisseurs of Georgian cuisine who are already well-versed in the dishes. A large proportion of the guests spoke Georgian or Russian—certainly a good sign for lovers of authentic cuisine, but potentially a bit of a challenge for first-time visitors without prior knowledge. In conclusion: If the service were better, it would definitely be a good recommendation. But it isn't—therefore, for larger groups (we were 13 people), it's only conditionally recommended.

Truly delicious food. A unique taste experience and a super nice and friendly service team. The owner's wife gives excellent recommendations. A quiet and relaxed location with a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was my first time eating at Gemrieli and I was absolutely thrilled. There is a very good selection of starters and main courses. I haven't even managed to have dessert yet because the vegetarian starters alone were so delicious that you just can't finish them all. I definitely recommend trying some of the starters! They also serve Georgian wines, beers, and lemonades, which are delicious. It's cozy... rustic inside. Outside, there's a lovely outdoor seating area in the garden, and there are a few tables in front of the restaurant. The clientele is quite diverse, with several native speakers, which alone speaks volumes about the authentic, good cuisine. I'm thrilled and will probably come back again. 😊 Give it a try, but make a reservation in advance.

This was our second time there. The food was fantastic, Georgian, of course. The service was very friendly and the beer garden in the courtyard was fantastic. We'd love to come back.

Simply unique. Super delicious food, far removed from the usual tastes. The beef dishes are especially recommended. You can eat in the rustic setting inside or outside in front of the restaurant or in the leafy courtyard. On top of that, the service is very friendly.

Unfortunately, I'm forced to give the restaurant a bad review. We ate here two years ago. The food was delicious, but we didn't like the ambiance because there were dirty dishes and glasses lying around everywhere, and the service was very inattentive. My companion described it that way in her review. Now she's being asked to delete her review for allegedly defamatory behavior. I think that's a real shame. A review is an opportunity for a restaurant to improve, right? We won't be visiting the restaurant again, and we won't recommend it to anyone.

We waited more than an hour for two servings of khinkali.

My first time at a George Restaurant, and I really liked it. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff were attentive and friendly. After our group of four placed our order, the waiter was very thoughtful and pointed out that we might have ordered too much food—which I really appreciated. My favorite dish was the Teiggerichte with Hackfleisch. We also had a kind “pizza” that came —one with cheese on top, and the original. Both were tasty, but I preferred the original. Bonus: both versions reheat really well the next morning in the oven (pro tip!). Overall, it was a good experience, though the food did take almost an hour to arrive

We had an absolutely wonderful evening with our lovely friends! The food was simply delicious. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and made our evening even more pleasant. You can really feel how much passion goes into working here. The ambience was also fantastically beautiful and rounded off the evening perfectly. Best georgian restaurant I've tried in Germany so far

Very tasty food, no complaints about the cuisine. But, after the end of the evening, the waiter, upon request to pack our food with us, unfortunately, arbitrarily decided that one of the two dishes, for some reason, should not be packed. Only at home I noticed the absence of almost a whole Adjarian khachapuri. Although she initially clarified that she would like to take everything with her. It's very unfortunate that this happened. It really spoiled the impression.

Yes, it was very full, we waited 2 hours for food. The staff was nice. Little things from the kitchen would have been great to bridge the hunger pangs. Something on the menu for every taste. Unfortunately no parking space.

My husband and his colleagues were at your Christmas party. And yesterday we celebrated our wedding anniversary with you. Pkhali, khinkali, lamb skewers - everything was exceptionally delicious and beyond praise. The only downside was the lack of a second stomach to be able to try more😂. We'll definitely be back!

Atmosphere was nice. Foods are good but overpriced. It was the first time for us to try Georgian cuisine therefore we ordered several dishes to try. While ordering waitress warned us about and we asked if we can get leftovers to go, the answer was no. Why? Afterwards the other waitress helped us but still it wasn’t a nice behaviour.

Were here for the first time and wanted to try this Georgian. We are more than familiar with Georgian cuisine from a 30-day tour of Georgia. I have to say that the food in this restaurant was tasty (3.7/5 stars) and it was a bit more authentic in Georgia. The only complaint is the long wait for the food and then the shashlik and the Lula Kebab were served almost cold. Which somewhat spoiled the impression of this restaurant. Lula Kebab was still tasty. The cold shish kebab, not quite, just cold shish kebab.

Great restaurant with a retro vibe, great service and mouthwatering food choice. Great choice of Georgian water and wines too, combined with homy Georgian music, and respectful guests. Hoping to be back soon, we surely enjoyed our meal and stay.

The food was so delicious and it's definitely worth ordering one of the Georgian limos! Although the restaurant was very full (reserving is recommended), we didn't have to wait too long. 😌

The prices are a disgrace. And the food is far from what we know from Georgia. Pure rip-off.

3.5/5 I found the food very tasty (I had the Georgian bread with cheese) but unfortunately my companion had the chicken with pear and it was super tough and dry and unfortunately for this price I don't think that should happen. Be sure to try out the various starter dips and the vanilla lemonade! Even though it wasn't very busy, we had to wait a long time until the waiter noticed us so we could pay. Unfortunately, I had imagined the mushroom soup to be completely different.

However, there is room for a lot of people here and reservations for many people are easily accepted. The food was very good, the waitress also had strong opinions on what to pair or how much we were likely to eat. This can usually go well, but you can sometimes misjudge the guests. Both the restaurant and the food were very nice. The tables are quite close to one another, which makes moving a little hard. But they took our reservation for 7 people without issues and online as well. The food was nice - the waiters had some opinion on what we should pair and how much we'd be eating. They are probably correct most of the time, but I would not underestimate our hunger.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The good thing first: very nice ambience and super tasty wine. Unfortunately the service was very slow and didn't seem particularly attentive. Our finished plates stood for a very long time, and the empty wine bottle from the neighboring table, which had already left 30 minutes ago, also stood until the end of our visit. The prices seem reasonable at first glance, but the portions were not appropriate, which is why the dishes are rather overpriced. A medium khachapuri with cheese and egg for €18. Think about what you get for a pizza at an Italian restaurant for €18. In my Megruli Kharcho (tomato-walnut ragou with beef) there were 4 cubes of meat… and that for 22€. In general, the ragout was very greasy/oily and had a bit of pesto to it. The Georgian wedges ended up being normal potato wedges, but tasted okay. The Napoleon cake as dessert rounded off our mixed experience. Unfortunately, it's far too small for the price. Great wine list and ambience but service and food rather mixed.

Great excursion into Georgian cuisine! Delicious dishes. From the food to the local beer. The service is definitely better. Not always attentive, your own menu could be better advertised at the table. Our dog was warmly welcomed: the request in advance as to whether he was allowed to come was answered immediately, and a water bowl was quickly provided.

It's not the first time I visit this restaurant. I like the interior design, the food and of course the friendly staff. There is also a rich list of Georgian wines that I love very much. On Saturday evening we had to wait a little longer for our dishes, but it was worth it, especially since we were informed of this in advance. I recommend it.
