A note in advance: It's noticeable that this restaurant has almost exclusively very positive reviews. More critical reviews – including my own – have since been removed or reported and only published again after an appeal. This makes it difficult to get a realistic overall picture. Therefore, here is an objective assessment of our visit – with both positive and critical aspects. Our visit to this restaurant was overall a pleasant evening, but there were a few things you should be aware of before coming here. First of all, the parking situation is challenging, especially for out-of-towners. On Saturday evening around 7 p.m., it was almost impossible to find a parking space nearby – a real hurdle for larger groups like ours. The restaurant was full, and the staff unfortunately seemed overwhelmed. Some of the waiters were obviously new and didn't know the menu by its Georgian names or numbering. Those who ordered by number also had to memorize the name of the dish, as the assignment wasn't always clear. The order of the dishes served was also somewhat chaotic: Side dishes arrived before the appetizers and then sat for so long that they became cold. Furthermore, used plates weren't always cleared promptly. The food itself was fine, but the unclear menu made ordering a bit of a gamble. One appetizer didn't arrive until the very end, and the bread in the bread basket was unfortunately cold and rather unspectacular in taste. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant primarily to connoisseurs of Georgian cuisine who are already well-versed in the dishes. A large proportion of the guests spoke Georgian or Russian—certainly a good sign for lovers of authentic cuisine, but potentially a bit of a challenge for first-time visitors without prior knowledge. In conclusion: If the service were better, it would definitely be a good recommendation. But it isn't—therefore, for larger groups (we were 13 people), it's only conditionally recommended.

A very decent restaurant, we definitely recommend it.

This was our second time there. The food was fantastic, Georgian, of course. The service was very friendly and the beer garden in the courtyard was fantastic. We'd love to come back.

It was my first time eating at Gemrieli and I was absolutely thrilled. There is a very good selection of starters and main courses. I haven't even managed to have dessert yet because the vegetarian starters alone were so delicious that you just can't finish them all. I definitely recommend trying some of the starters! They also serve Georgian wines, beers, and lemonades, which are delicious. It's cozy... rustic inside. Outside, there's a lovely outdoor seating area in the garden, and there are a few tables in front of the restaurant. The clientele is quite diverse, with several native speakers, which alone speaks volumes about the authentic, good cuisine. I'm thrilled and will probably come back again. 😊 Give it a try, but make a reservation in advance.

Truly delicious food. A unique taste experience and a super nice and friendly service team. The owner's wife gives excellent recommendations. A quiet and relaxed location with a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Simply unique. Super delicious food, far removed from the usual tastes. The beef dishes are especially recommended. You can eat in the rustic setting inside or outside in front of the restaurant or in the leafy courtyard. On top of that, the service is very friendly.

Unfortunately, I'm forced to give the restaurant a bad review. We ate here two years ago. The food was delicious, but we didn't like the ambiance because there were dirty dishes and glasses lying around everywhere, and the service was very inattentive. My companion described it that way in her review. Now she's being asked to delete her review for allegedly defamatory behavior. I think that's a real shame. A review is an opportunity for a restaurant to improve, right? We won't be visiting the restaurant again, and we won't recommend it to anyone.

We waited more than an hour for two servings of khinkali.

My first time at a George Restaurant, and I really liked it. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff were attentive and friendly. After our group of four placed our order, the waiter was very thoughtful and pointed out that we might have ordered too much food—which I really appreciated. My favorite dish was the Teiggerichte with Hackfleisch. We also had a kind “pizza” that came —one with cheese on top, and the original. Both were tasty, but I preferred the original. Bonus: both versions reheat really well the next morning in the oven (pro tip!). Overall, it was a good experience, though the food did take almost an hour to arrive

We had an absolutely wonderful evening with our lovely friends! The food was simply delicious. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and made our evening even more pleasant. You can really feel how much passion goes into working here. The ambience was also fantastically beautiful and rounded off the evening perfectly. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Food tastes good, but portions are quite small and expensive. The service wasn't good either.

We ate here as a large group. All dishes were very tasty. The combination of chicken and pear was an experience! The service could be a little more attentive, e.g. regarding empty drinks.

We've been to this restaurant twice already. Everything is delicious and freshly prepared. We ordered khachapuri, shashlik, khinkali, eggplant with nut filling, chicken dish, Napoleon cake, honey cake, Borjomi water, Tarhun water, and a few other dishes whose names I can't remember. I would recommend booking a table in advance.

We were in a restaurant yesterday, the khinkali was just terrible, the meat was dry. Very disappointed in the restaurant.

I think it used to be a Spanish or Italian restaurant, now a Georgian restaurant. I think the ambience is successful. The food was equally good. Maybe a little expensive compared to other restaurants in the category, but within reason

Very tasty food, no complaints about the cuisine. But, after the end of the evening, the waiter, upon request to pack our food with us, unfortunately, arbitrarily decided that one of the two dishes, for some reason, should not be packed. Only at home I noticed the absence of almost a whole Adjarian khachapuri. Although she initially clarified that she would like to take everything with her. It's very unfortunate that this happened. It really spoiled the impression.

Yes, it was very full, we waited 2 hours for food. The staff was nice. Little things from the kitchen would have been great to bridge the hunger pangs. Something on the menu for every taste. Unfortunately no parking space.

My husband and his colleagues were at your Christmas party. And yesterday we celebrated our wedding anniversary with you. Pkhali, khinkali, lamb skewers - everything was exceptionally delicious and beyond praise. The only downside was the lack of a second stomach to be able to try more😂. We'll definitely be back!

The food was great. If you want to eat well you can go here. The service was very reserved and cool. Despite enough space and a reservation, our table was in a very narrow niche. The toilets were superficially clean.

Atmosphere was nice. Foods are good but overpriced. It was the first time for us to try Georgian cuisine therefore we ordered several dishes to try. While ordering waitress warned us about and we asked if we can get leftovers to go, the answer was no. Why? Afterwards the other waitress helped us but still it wasn’t a nice behaviour.

Were here for the first time and wanted to try this Georgian. We are more than familiar with Georgian cuisine from a 30-day tour of Georgia. I have to say that the food in this restaurant was tasty (3.7/5 stars) and it was a bit more authentic in Georgia. The only complaint is the long wait for the food and then the shashlik and the Lula Kebab were served almost cold. Which somewhat spoiled the impression of this restaurant. Lula Kebab was still tasty. The cold shish kebab, not quite, just cold shish kebab.

Great restaurant with a retro vibe, great service and mouthwatering food choice. Great choice of Georgian water and wines too, combined with homy Georgian music, and respectful guests. Hoping to be back soon, we surely enjoyed our meal and stay.

The food was so delicious and it's definitely worth ordering one of the Georgian limos! Although the restaurant was very full (reserving is recommended), we didn't have to wait too long. 😌

The prices are a disgrace. And the food is far from what we know from Georgia. Pure rip-off.

3.5/5 I found the food very tasty (I had the Georgian bread with cheese) but unfortunately my companion had the chicken with pear and it was super tough and dry and unfortunately for this price I don't think that should happen. Be sure to try out the various starter dips and the vanilla lemonade! Even though it wasn't very busy, we had to wait a long time until the waiter noticed us so we could pay. Unfortunately, I had imagined the mushroom soup to be completely different.

On the whole everything is good.

(English below) We really liked both the restaurant and the food. The tables are a bit close together making it difficult to move around. However, there is room for a lot of people here and reservations for many people are easily accepted. The food was very good, the waitress also had strong opinions on what to pair or how much we were likely to eat. This can usually go well, but you can sometimes misjudge the guests. Both the restaurant and the food were very nice. The tables are quite close to one another, which makes moving a little hard. But they took our reservation for 7 people without issues and online as well. The food was nice - the waiters had some opinion on what we should pair and how much we'd be eating. They are probably correct most of the time, but I would not underestimate our hunger.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The good thing first: very nice ambience and super tasty wine. Unfortunately the service was very slow and didn't seem particularly attentive. Our finished plates stood for a very long time, and the empty wine bottle from the neighboring table, which had already left 30 minutes ago, also stood until the end of our visit. The prices seem reasonable at first glance, but the portions were not appropriate, which is why the dishes are rather overpriced. A medium khachapuri with cheese and egg for €18. Think about what you get for a pizza at an Italian restaurant for €18. In my Megruli Kharcho (tomato-walnut ragou with beef) there were 4 cubes of meat… and that for 22€. In general, the ragout was very greasy/oily and had a bit of pesto to it. The Georgian wedges ended up being normal potato wedges, but tasted okay. The Napoleon cake as dessert rounded off our mixed experience. Unfortunately, it's far too small for the price. Great wine list and ambience but service and food rather mixed.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary there with my wife. The food was very tasty, especially Hatschapuri Adjaruli.

Great excursion into Georgian cuisine! Delicious dishes. From the food to the local beer. The service is definitely better. Not always attentive, your own menu could be better advertised at the table. Our dog was warmly welcomed: the request in advance as to whether he was allowed to come was answered immediately, and a water bowl was quickly provided.

The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly and gave us excellent recommendations without being asked without being intrusive. It's not the first time I visit this restaurant. I like the interior design, the food and of course the friendly staff. There is also a rich list of Georgian wines that I love very much. On Saturday evening we had to wait a little longer for our dishes, but it was worth it, especially since we were informed of this in advance. I recommend it.

Simply WOW. I'm thrilled. We were there for the second time. It was perfect. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of the food. My tip: chicken with blackberry sauce and eggplant with walnuts. A dream (also Khinkhali). Many thanks to the team.

The first waiter was unable to find our reservation, but the second one was able to find us. It then took 20 minutes before we were allowed to order something to drink and the waiters, if you want to call them that, walked past us several times. The soup had almost only cartilage on the side and was very fatty. For the main course, almost every dish came individually and the side dish came when the main course was almost cold. It was tasty, but the service is a disaster and ruins the whole visit.

Very nice restaurant. It's very busy, the waitresses are very nice. Since it was very busy, the meal took a while, but that was clearly communicated at the beginning. But the wait was worth it, we have rarely eaten something so delicious. The later it was, the less likely anyone was to come by the table and ask if we had any requests. If this can be improved, then it would be perfect. We will definitely come back again

Khinkali were okay, but little bit too thick dough. Odgahuri was good.

We ate here for the first time. The taste was really good, but unfortunately a main course arrived a little late because the side dishes we ordered were already cold. It's a real shame... unfortunately the tables were also very carelessly set, otherwise a great location (a candle and or a small flower would have helped). Service was nice and courteous, I would most likely recommend it. I would have liked to give more stars.

We ordered Shkmeruli (32) and Megruli Kharcho (37). The food was spicy and very tasty. The khinkali cannot be seen in the photo, but they were extremely tasty and definitely worth the experience. However, it should be noted on the menu that most of the dishes do not come with a side dish (mashed potatoes, rice, etc.). This means that the visit to Gemrieli was significantly more expensive than initially expected. What should be highlighted is the great atmosphere in the restaurant and the very cozy atmosphere. The service was very nice and also gave a few tips about the food. Definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to reserve!

A rustic restaurant, you can sit inside or outside. The service brilliant. Very attentive but not intrusive. We ate delicious food and had fun. We'd love to come back, next time with reinforcements. We were just the vanguard.

This is quite delicious Georgian food, which is rare in Germany. I recommend trying the khinkali—they are gigantic—as well as the wonderful Georgian wines. Note that there is a cozy inner courtyard, though the entire place is very pleasant and comfortable. The staff is polite, attentive, and caring.

If you are looking for a Georgian restaurant in the vicinity of Leipzig, Halle, Dresden, you will not find a better one. The environment, the dishes and the prices are acceptable, and you will properly warm up the guests to Georgian cuisine. It is better to reserve seats in advance. Parking is available in front if you are lucky.

The visit to the restaurant was my first time eating Georgian food. The menu has a large selection of delicious dishes, which are very hearty but incredibly well made. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the desserts, but I'll try them on the next visit. The service staff was very nice and helpful. I can only recommend the restaurant!

Decent food, but unfortunately without a frame of reference, hard to judge better. Good portions though and satisfying. A bit slow service, but friendly. Prices on the higher end, but it's everywhere these days, and worth giving it a try nonetheless.

We were in Georgia at the beginning of May and were already missing the food, so we decided to eat at Gemrieli Restaurant. And: it was very tasty and we didn't notice any differences to the local Georgian cuisine. We even found the Khinkali a little better than in Tbilisi. It was very delicious. The four of us paid 135€ with 2 main courses, 4 khinkali, 1 salad, 1 khachapuri, 2 bottles of white wine and 4 chacha. I agree on that. The service was very nice and competent. It was very busy on Saturday evening. I made a reservation online 2 weeks in advance, which worked well. Thanks for the evening! The only negative: the pork in the Ojakhuri wasn't the best, it was a bit tough.

The name of the Georgian restaurant is probably wrong. It is better to call it Russian-Ukrainian!!! Aggressive service staff.. and the owner is a tactless woman who, upon receiving a remark, instead of taking care of improving the service, turns to aggression and insults the guests!! Kill me, you immigrants who miss Georgia like me, there is nothing Georgian 🥹

Since I have family in Georgia, I am relatively familiar with Georgian cuisine. Before I placed my order, I heard that the waitress was talking to her colleague in Russian, so I ordered in Russian. But when I did that, the waitress became extremely rude and immediately switched to German, as if I had personally attacked her. She also irritably corrected my correct Georgian pronunciation from the courts and translated it into German. I felt rather uncomfortable with such service. However, the food was delicious.

Everything was perfect! The taste of the food over here let me think back of the food in Georgia. Take the Khinkhali and the Skhmeruli + the Saperavi hauswein & Chacha and you will have a really complete good night! We were with a boyfriend on Saturday evening. We waited for the order for an hour and a half! As a result, we were given an order, but not all of it. Lyulya kebab, they just didn't make it, because of the large number of orders and a broken grill. I would recommend recruiting more employees, as there is demand, but not to serve everyone who wants to do it efficiently. For Saturday evening, I suggest going to another place.

The service was friendly but inattentive, dirty glasses had been collecting on the counter for more than 2 hours... no one came to the table to ask if you wanted something else to drink you had to go to the bar… Food great, service unfortunately not.

Last night we were at Gemrieli with 4 people. Everything was ordered at once - 4 drinks, 3 x starters and 4 x main courses with 2 side dishes (fries & Georgian fried potatoes). The drinks came after 30 minutes, the starters after 60 minutes. We were able to accept the very long waiting time at the time because the restaurant was relatively full. The waitress constantly ran (she really ran) around the restaurant throughout our stay and was visibly overwhelmed. 2 main courses arrived after 90 minutes - unfortunately without the side dishes ordered! After 10 minutes I asked the bar attendant about the side dishes, her response was she asks. The fried potatoes were then brought to the table. Shortly afterwards the second main course came but the second side dish of fries was still missing. We asked at the bar again and the fries came, but no apology - my main course was already cold at the time because I had to wait 15 minutes for the side dish and ask twice! We ate and our 4th order was a long time coming. During the entire stay, the waitress didn't come to our table once to take any additional drink orders. Everyone was finished except for our fourth person at the table. We went back to the bar and asked for the bill, saying that a main course we had ordered was missing and that it would be taken off the bill. Shortly afterwards the lady from the bar came and explained the lack of the last main course by saying that our table was too small! Absolutely cheeky to argue with such an “apology” after all the questions and problems. When I asked There was NO response to any concessions regarding the price or wanting to give something on the house. The food tasted very good, but of course it wasn't particularly nice for us to eat, while a hungry person has to stay at the table! We have never experienced anything like this, we were stunned and absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant!

Interesting and good food. Variety from other cuisines. Usually with garlic too. The restaurant has a special charm thanks to the wood-panelled walls and the wooden columns in the room.

I had dinner at Gemrieli with my family a few days ago. Everyone thought it was great! The interior is quaint and rustic, the outside seating is quiet and beautiful to look at. The service was friendly & polite. The food itself was very tasty. The store was full, so there were longer waiting times. But that's to be expected :) we'd love to come back.

Our family enjoyed the food excellently. The number 1 "Pchali Mix" was also our number 1. The meat skewers as the main course were also very well seasoned and grilled. I can't compare the prices. I've never had Georgian food. Admittedly it's not cheap but it was worth it to us. We'll definitely come back again.
