We enjoyed our evening with perfect weather and perfect food, quite the best food we have eaten in Germany! At the first DJ Crossfade meeting in Hesse, we were able to get to know this gigantic location. It is a very impressive former church/chapel. The ambience, especially at a late hour, is well worth seeing. We were served very well, the food was excellent. After this great visit, I would like to come by again. CLEAR VISIT RECOMMENDATION! War nach längerer Zeit wieder Mal hier, wie immer eine sehr freundliche Begrüßung durch Herrn Flaschentraeger und seine Servicekräfte. Ich liebe diese Location, da sie den Namen "Gastwirtschaft" zu Recht trägt, hier wird die "Gastfreundlichkeit" noch wirklich gelebt. Die Speisen und Getränke sind vom Allerfeinsten, aber nicht abgehoben. Man ist hier stets bemüht, dem Gast, den Abend so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen, hier kann man sein Leben noch geniessen. Vielen Dank:-)

Mein zweiter Besuch in der Pastorale in Limburg wahrlich ein fünf Sterne Event. Dieses zweite Mal war ich in Begleitung von fünf Freunden/ Freundinnen, wir waren alle begeistert von der Begrüßung bis zur Verabschiedung von der Pastorale, vom schönen Sommergarten bis zur beeindruckenden Kulisse der ehemaligen Kirche als Restaurant, Veranstaltungsort und Bar, einfach ein grandioser Ort oben im Schatten der Bäume, bei sommerlichen Temperaturen in chilliger Atmosphäre sehr leckeres Essen inclusive angenehmen und aufmerksamen Service zu erleben. Wir wurden sogar, da wir relativ zeitig vor Ort waren, von Herrn Mario Flaschenträger durch das wunderbare Objekt geführt und bekamen zusätzlichen Einblick in das aufwändig renovierte und mit viel Liebe zum Detail geführte Restaurant und besonderen Veranstaltungsstätte. Ein wunderbarer Ort, der unseren wunderbaren Ausflug nach Limburg ein weiteres Highlight bescherte. Wir kommen wieder! Dies ist ein Versprechen, darin waren wir einig und freuen uns schon, um in der Winterzeit vor Ort wieder hinein zu schneien. Natürlich werden wir im Vorfeld zur Sicherheit, da wir eine weitere Einreise haben, unsere Plätze im Vorhinein reservieren. Vielen Dank für die fantastische Erfahrung gilt Herrn Flaschenträger und seinem klasse Team von der Küche bis zum Service..

The first impression of the ambience is extremely good. Everything is nice and clean, pleasantly warm, tidy and you feel very comfortable. The chairs are very comfortable and there is enough space for the person sitting next to you. The tables are a bit too small in width, so all the cutlery, glasses and food feel a bit cramped. The music is nice and neutral and calm. The staff is very polite and helpful. There is a wide selection of drinks and food. Unfortunately the food wasn't to my taste, but I would recommend everyone to try it.

The restaurant with that special something. The Pastorale is located in a former church. When the weather is good, the food is served in a beautiful beer garden, otherwise in the beautifully decorated church interior. The menu satisfies both the meat lover and the vegetarian among us. The service is attentive and courteous. The bar is also well stocked. Every now and then there are events on the small stage in the chancel. We were thrilled and would love to come back!

Location was great, unfortunately the food was bad and expensive

Yesterday I was in Limburg with my partner for my 30th birthday and we wanted to have a good time in the evening. So we quickly reserved a table and let ourselves be inspired. Both of us, as passionate amateur cooks, really adapted very well there. Here you won't find the standard program like in many other restaurants where convenience products are used. From a delicious starter soup to a main course with delicate salmon and entrecôte with matching and unusual side dishes to a delicious dessert, we had a wonderful evening in a stylish location. A suitable wine was recommended to us. Afterwards we even had to convince ourselves that, as passionate espresso drinkers who own a high-quality Italian machine ourselves, even this one was excellent because we drank four of them. All in all, we had a lovely evening and can recommend this location. We will definitely make the trip from Koblenz again to have a special evening. Jessica & Luke

Einfach großartig! Tolles Lokal - der Raum außergewöhnlich und super liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Speisekarte voller “das klingt lecker” - es war echt schwer zu entscheiden, was wir nehmen. Jede Menge vegetarische oder vegane Gericht ohne Missionsgedanken, es gab auch genug fleischige Alternativen. Das Essen großartig - der Thunfisch genau auf den Punkt und tolle Süßkartoffelpommes (anderes Gericht) alles liebevoll angerichtet. Getränkeauswahl umfangreich, teils ungewöhnlich und sehr lecker! Dazu aufmerksame, sehr nette Bedienung. Fazit: Schade, dass wir nur auf der Durchreise waren!

I had a wonderful evening at PASTORALE. Everything is just right here. A tastefully decorated ambience in an old church. The food was great. Rack of veal, very tender meat, very well seasoned and refined with a delicious fruit sauce. A big compliment to the kitchen team. And the table service was super friendly, helpful and so charming. A great building that creates excitement from the outside as to what awaits you inside. Inside, expectations are similarly surprised. Very pleasant atmosphere with great facilities and different seating options. Very nice service that leaves no wish unfulfilled, including its own feel-good manager. A huge selection of drinks awaits the guest. Great wines, local beer, etc. Only Erdinger Weizen dampens my mood. The food is also excellent and highly recommended. Whether it's a starter, main course or dessert (I'd like to try the Kaiserschmarrn next time). We will be back definitely.

I heard about this restaurant from a television report and visited it while I was in Limburg. The reception was pleasantly relaxed and friendly. The long tables at which you sit emphasize the living room character because you immediately feel integrated, even as a solo traveler. The service was super friendly and accommodating, everyone in service was happy to chat with the guests for a long time. I thought it was great. So, for food: Had two dishes from the weekly menu. As a starter the vegetable soup with herb dumpling (very tasty, the many herbs go well together) and as the main course (my highlight) the rack of veal with forest fruit sauce. No errors due to autocorrect, really forest fruit sauce! Incredibly delicious, the meat (sorry, veal) is a dream, crispy on the outside (800 degree treatment?), tender and juicy on the inside. Plus the fruity sweetness of the sauce, accentuated by whole red peppercorns... wonderful! By the way, I enjoyed (don't beat me) a white wine with it. On the recommendation of the charming waitress, a Pinot Blanc that was aged in barrique barrels. I found this combination to be very suitable for the meat and fruit ensemble, as the wine had a rather tart bouquet but a fine fruity aroma. All in all, a perfect blend of exceptional ambience, great service and culinary enjoyment.

Zuerst einmal wurden wir freundlich empfangen und auch die Getränke Kamen relativ schnell und war gut beraten. Als ich fragte, Ob die Fruchtsauce beim Kalb Carré auf einer Demi Glace Basis ist, wurde mir gesagt, hier wird alles frisch gekocht. Nun, da mir die Aussage zu etwas wage war und ich gemerkt habe das meine Frage nicht verstanden habe ich mich für das Wiener Schnitzel entschieden. Zur Vorspeise hatten wir Garnelen mit einem Feta Käse, das ganz okay war. Das Kalbschnitzel das war auch okay. Der Salat war sehr fade. Die Bratkartoffeln waren echt nicht gut. Sie waren blass, lauwarm hatten kaum Geschmack und gebraten ist etwas anderes, das bekommt man In einer einfachen Apfelweinkneipe 100 mal besser zubereitet. Ich muss auch sagen, ich hatte nichts gesagt während dem Essen, da ich das Erlebnis des Essens mit meiner Partnerin nicht stören wollte. Als ich mein Feedback abgab, hat man sich entschuldigt und hat mich gefragt, warum ich denn nicht schon früher etwas gesagt hätte aber ich hatte den Grund genannt. Ich habe gesagt, dass sie gerne dem Koch Die Rückmeldung geben sollen, dass die Bratkartoffeln einfach schlecht waren und der Salat fade …. Zur Antwort bekam ich dann, dass man sich nicht trauen würde Dem Koch dies zu sagen, da er schon wüsste, was er tut und schon so lange im Beruf ist. Das war für mich als Gastronom wirklich unbegreiflich. Was auch schade war, das man sösich nicht einmal bemüht, diesen Fehler in irgendeiner Form wieder gutzumachen sei es nur ein Espresso oder etwas anderes als auch hier erwarte ich von einem gehoben Restaurant das es sein will, dass man hier professioneller mit Reklamationen umgeht. Wir Werden allerdings das Restaurant noch mal besuchen, um zu schauen, ob das wirklich nur ein Ausrutscher war oder die Qualität wirklich durchschnittlich ist und die Preise dafür etwas gehoben.

What a coincidence, a restaurant in an old church. Simply brilliant, great atmosphere and ambience with delicious and good food. Plus beautiful atmospheric background music. The sound is exciting, cool groove with a very balanced, rich sound, perfect, not too much or dominant. I was really amazed, I liked everything so much. Please reserve a table before your visit. Even if there is a nice beer garden there in the summer, always make sure you have a table in the church. The atmosphere combined with delicious food does something to you. I can't think of anything comparable. Definitely again on your next visit to Limburg.

This restaurant is hard to beat when it comes to genius. The location is extremely exclusive. The ambience, also characterized by the sound and lighting technology, seduces you to marvel and dream. The food is fresh, prepared to perfection and a culinary delight as well as a delight for the senses. The attention to detail leaves nothing to be desired here. There's really no question about whether I recommend this place! I can only warmly recommend him. With many 100 reviews - mostly praise - read almost 300,000 times, I know very well what I can recommend and what not. This time, for the first time, I would like to award this cultural temple 10 stars instead of the maximum five stars. So my favorite so far! This is due to the melange of absolutely unusual "location" located high above Limburg on the Schafsberg in an old chapel, with a corresponding ambience, the outstanding cuisine, the great service, not least by the owner, himself a renowned author and artist, Mr. Bottletraeger. Despite everything that stands out, it remains comfortably "bourgeois", by no means a "Schicky-Micky-temple". The food, like the menu itself, is a homage to the art and joy of living. Everything revolves around (not only) Beethoven's "Pastorale". This is how it appears On the menu after the overture, the hero brings me the almost "obligatory" green sauce, which I'm sure I can make myself. This one was almost better than the dessert specialty of the house, the lemon tiramisu. Forget any previous tiramisu experience. To give just a very small excerpt from the menu, with a pleasantly large vegetarian section What’s definitely worth it: A conversation with the famous Maitre Bottle Carrier, a look into the interior of the chapel if you sit almost exclusively on the beautiful terrace in summer, and definitely the homepage, which wonderfully summarizes the art-loving identity of the "Pastorale".

2 stars not because of the staff or the food, but because of the unprofessionalism of the owner. Unfortunately, after the asparagus cream soup tasted neither particularly like asparagus nor like cream, we told the waiter that the soup tasted very diluted and that there was no cream or cream taste. It was also served with plenty of oil, so just not a harmonious picture for a reasonable ten euros... The waiter apologized and took it back, so far everything was fine and ticked off for us. The owner then came rushing in and asked what the problem was and was told that the soup was bad. But that couldn't be right, the chef tried it and everything was perfect, then we said what we had previously told the waiter and that it didn't have much taste. He went behind again and more or less ignored us while we were there… What a shame! Because nice staff and otherwise good food, if not a bit expensive.

Over a block of travel we became aware of “Pastorale”, a restaurant in the middle of a former church. Certainly an exciting topic! In times when Christian churches often think about the future of their places of worship, clever and innovative ideas are more in demand than ever! So we set off during our 2-day stay in Limburg and extended the city tour over the Schafsberg. Once there, a small chapel in the neo-Gothic architectural style awaits us, surrounded by trees and bushes. Only at second glance do we notice attached, functional buildings with contrasting colors, but they are very reserved and give priority to the church complex. We stand in front of the entrance door, read the menu and take in the place, and obviously happy guests tell us about the “Pastorale experience” as they leave the restaurant. It doesn't take long before a beaming woman from the hotel service opens the glass double doors for us, true to the motto: come in, you are warmly welcome! After a short and pleasant conversation, we reserve a table for the following evening. And this evening will be something special for us: -We experience a very friendly staff who are very attentive to the guest. -The kitchen understands the value of food by conjuring up delicious dishes, the ingredients are carefully balanced, and the wishes, needs and ideas of vegetarians are taken seriously. -and the guest room: He leaves the church building with its dignity; culture, past and present meet without competing with one another. The conversion of the church did not mean the end of the church, but rather the start of a new, different future. The aura of the room, the furniture and accessories, the accompanying music and the acoustics are actually reminiscent of the flair of a living room! I wanted to have a special meal with my husband on his birthday and the Pastorale was exactly the right place for that! Not only was the ambience exceptional, the service was simply top and the food was outstanding. Where can you get a glass of champagne and dessert these days just because it's someone's birthday? We're still really excited! That was definitely not the last time we were there. Many thanks to the entire Pastorale team for this wonderful evening!

You will be welcomed in a friendly and relaxed manner right at the entrance. It was our first time there and we immediately felt welcome, almost like we were staying with friends. The atmosphere is special and we really liked it. The service is courteous and the food is very tasty, some with special refinements. Thanks to a timely reservation, we had one of the VIP tables. We particularly liked that the lady of the house stopped by every now and then.😀 We spent a lovely 3rd wedding anniversary at the PASTORALE. We will be back!!!

The chef does his job really well and the results from the kitchen match the upscale and exclusive ambience. Unfortunately, I found the service and tone towards the paying guests to be unsuitable. Maybe word hasn't gotten around in this part of Limburg yet that the customer is queen. The simple question of whether it was tasty was not asked; this just as an example. I would like the Pastorale to continue to develop here to meet its own standards.

A pity! The food was very tasty, the ambience was visually nice, but unfortunately I felt unwelcome and patronized as a guest. This was mainly due to the behavior of the head waiter (or boss), who unfortunately had a significant negative impact on our mood. I definitely won't come back again.

The conversion of the chapel into a restaurant was quite successful. Although the ambience is very inviting, it is sometimes very narrow and seems overcrowded (apart from the high ceilings, which make the room seem large). The food is very tasty, but this is also reflected in the price. The staff's treatment of restaurant visitors is sometimes very harsh and almost passive-aggressive, but this does not apply to all staff; the other part is very polite and courteous. What, in my opinion, is not possible at all is that it is not announced when the kitchen closes and there is not even any kind of "advance warning" that now is the last chance to order food. When we wanted to order dessert after the main course, we were simply told in a brusque manner that the chef had already left. (The information regarding the closing time of the kitchen cannot be found on the menu either.) And as if that wasn't enough, the waiter (he seemed to be the head waiter, if not the owner) even didn't mind offering a coffee Offer dessert substitutes. I would also like to point out that there are several cameras installed inside (I don't know if they are running) and the head waiter in question took photos of us without asking, which leaves a strange feeling. (It was just a visit to a restaurant, so I can't comment on the qualities of the Pastorale as a cultural salon.)

We had dinner at the Pastorale with 5 people and our dog. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were assigned a special place where a drinking bowl was already ready for our dog. Very attentive!! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. Everything is chic and equipped with loving details. The food was very, very good from the starter to the main course to dessert! All top fresh ingredients and excellently prepared. Everything is also very appealing to the eye! At the end we were given a very friendly farewell by the owner of the restaurant. Alles war sehr gut, Essen, Service und vor Allem das Lokal. Tolle Idee, aus einer ungenutzten Kapelle ein Restaurant zu machen. Richtig gute Speisen und ein Service der sehr zuvorkommend ist. Kann man nur empfehlen, sollte man wirklich mal besuchen.

Es stimmte einfach alles! Wir hatten einen ausgezeichneten Abend anlässlich des Jubiläums meiner Oma. Das Essen war sehr lecker und sehr schön angerichtet. Auf alle unsere Wünsche, z.B. bezüglich Wunderkerzen (LED), wurde eingegangen. Die Atmosphäre, Ambiente (drinnen und draußen) und Musik, haben sehr gut zum unseren Abend gepasst. Es ist nicht nur eine außergewöhnliche Location (alte Kirche), sondern der Betreiber ist auch ein außergewöhnlicher Mensch, der dieses Restaurant mit viel Herz und Liebe führt. Ich muss sagen, dass ich so viel Seele, wie an diesem Ort, sehr selten gesehen habe. Unsere Erwartungen wurden weit übertroffen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, vor allen bin ich sehr auf die Sommersaison gespannt.

Eine wirklich außergewöhnlich schöne Location mit einem supernetten und aufmerksamen Chef! Essen und Getränke sind großartig und für die gebotene Qualität sind auch die Preise fair und angemessen. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

Es ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis! In außergewöhnlichem Ambiente (wenn auch etwas kühl) und mit hervorragendem Essen war es ein wunderschöner Abend.
