A truly awful place. First of all, we were ignored, while the regulars were given free rein. After we finally managed to get their attention, we were served. I won't even mention the incidents in between. The dessert was the worst part. I ordered a tiramisu. And I got it. But it was the same one that had been carried from outside into the kitchen and then back inside. It was then brought back to me, and you could see that someone had eaten a piece of it with a spoon. When I pointed out that they could just take it back, they just laughed and said they hadn't even noticed. There was no apology. I really should have called the authorities.

Amazing place, the food and wine were fantastic. Could not rate this place higher. Great little Italian, amazing service and staff and all the food is awesome.. literally. I recommend the truffle ravioli though for sure!!

Very poor service. Apparently well-known regulars are given priority, while others are barely noticed. Despite calling ahead, I couldn't get a table. When I asked why there weren't any tables available, I was told: "Too bad luck!" I even received derogatory comments from regulars. There were about 15 customers at the door who had also reserved and had to wait forever for their table to become available. When I asked if I could sit on the bench, I was told no. So, a 25 km drive for nothing. This isn't how you treat guests who have already left a lot of money (apparently not enough). Never again!

Authentic Italian in Essen! I'm in Essen for work, and this restaurant was a truly pleasant discovery. The food is authentic Italian. I've been there a couple of times and had various fish dishes and traditional appetizers, and everything was very good and authentic. The service is friendly and attentive, and they're quick, even though it's often very busy.

Not happy, only had Menu in German, I'm Australian, I asked for English version, he laughed and said they don't have one, later mockery of me, honestly, even when I tipped, it was like they didn't even appreciate it. We spontaneously chose this restaurant because a large table had just become available. Our drink orders were taken without a drink or menu card. In return, we ordered the menu card, no less than three times. Regarding the drinks, it should be mentioned that juice was served in a glass that appeared to have been used previously – the lip print was clearly visible. The daily specials were brought after the drinks, after the cutlery, and after what felt like half an hour. The exorbitant prices of the pasta dishes immediately caught our eye. But hey, quality has its price. When served, the first three pasta dishes immediately stood out due to the small portions of pasta, but with generous amounts of grated truffle. The truffle smelled, and in our opinion, it apparently had to be removed, hence the generosity. One pasta dish was surprisingly heaped with fish. But unfortunately, here too, the fish was not well prepared. Regarding one appetizer plate, it must also be mentioned that the two prawn prawns were not freshly prepared – they were warmed up, stuck to the skin, and had a rubbery consistency. The vitello tonnato, with its runny sauce, also left much to be desired. Even their bread was a very dry, old disaster. Given the location and the fact that they serve Moët and Chandon, the restaurant aims to create a high-quality impression. But the decor also deserves mention – worn, cracked bench cushions, stacks of unpacked boxes at the bar, which made the passage very narrow, and the restrooms seemed to lack much emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness. We would have been better served, both in terms of food and price, at a pizzeria. It's a real shame that more show than substance has actually found its place on Rüttenscheider.

It took a while for our order to be taken. Communication was difficult because no one spoke English. The waiter said the shrimp would be served with spaghetti aioli. Unfortunately, my main course was only 6 shrimp for €24. Luckily, KFC was nearby to fill my stomach!

Homophobic staff and owner suggested me and my friends to use the women’s bathroom for being gay. This place should be blacklisted immediately. Pasta was not even al dente and service was awful. Please avoid this dumpster.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was anything but pleasant. The start left a lot to be desired: We had to wait a very long time before we were even noticed by a server. Meanwhile, we observed how other guests – presumably regulars – were given preferential treatment and served immediately upon arrival, even though they arrived significantly later than us. The food itself was okay, but by no means remarkable. The taste was solid, but nothing memorable or worth repeating. The real low point, however, came when an accident occurred between a car and a cyclist very close to the restaurant. Instead of sympathy or concern, we heard only cynical comments from neighboring tables like, "Well, did the car driver at least pick up the cyclist?" – a comment that epitomizes the cold and disrespectful atmosphere in this restaurant. Overall, a disappointing experience. Those who value hospitality, attentiveness, and a pleasant environment should perhaps look for an alternative.

I was just there, went in to get a table, but no one came, so I sat down outside with my friend at a free table. Even though a server was outside twice, no one greeted us, and we had to get our menus ourselves. After deciding what to eat, we waited for service, but unfortunately, there was no response. After 15 minutes, we decided to leave the restaurant! They could have at least briefly informed us that they were short on staff and that we would be served soon. But we were completely ignored!

My wife and I waited 15 minutes at the table to get a menu. Three guests arrived 10 minutes after we sat down and received three menus two minutes later. They were able to order after a few minutes while we were still waiting for the menus. When we finally got them, we still hadn't been served after 10 minutes, but they did bring us bread, which was relatively poor. As a matter of principle, I don't recommend the Rüttenscheid shop to anyone.

Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with my visit to the Pasta e Gamberoni restaurant. The service left much to be desired: While we waited patiently, other guests who arrived later were already being served. It seemed as if older guests were given preferential treatment. Particularly unfortunate was that while we were waiting, the waiter lit a cigarette instead of serving us. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, the experience was very unpleasant, and this was my last visit to this establishment. 0 stars.

Nice shop with a good atmosphere and good food

Had an excellent lunch with a friend. First octopus salad, then wild-caught loup de mer, accompanied by excellent white wine. The fried bread with olive oil was also terrific. Great service and very nice atmosphere. I'd love to come back.

Impossible service had reserved, got there. We weren't shown a table and were told maybe in the fourth hour, maybe at some point. I'm very lucky that I can choose where I go to eat and definitely not there anymore

We were in Rüttenscheid from Düsseldorf on business and spontaneously looked for an Italian. My wife loves fish and the Pasta e Gamberoni seemed appropriate. Unfortunately I have to rate our experience with 2 stars, or 3 stars if I turn a blind eye. The ambience is fine so far. Personally, I like the board on which current dishes are written. The facility is solid in my opinion. With all due respect, the service was a disaster. We felt unwanted from the start and the whole situation was just unpleasant. I don't want to go into the details here. I read in other reviews that regular guests probably enjoy better experiences. In my opinion I would confirm this. We were dressed appropriately and casually chic and knew how to behave in any establishment. I feel that a certain basic friendliness is part of a hospitality business, which we missed here. Friendly service and hospitality could move mountains here, the potential is there. The food was great, without any problems, but at unreasonable prices and we had to wait quite a long time despite the moderate rush in the restaurant. In conclusion, I would describe the evening as simply unpleasant. We wouldn't come back again. A certain standard is expected, especially in Rüttenscheid. Understandably, we are not in Düsseldorf or the best restaurants in Cologne, but I have never come across anything like that.

The waiter was unfriendly and impatient, showed no willingness to offer advice and served food and drinks carelessly, without a word. We didn't feel welcome, but rather unwanted, which made the entire experience unpleasant. Because of this experience, we will not visit the restaurant again and unfortunately cannot recommend it.

Wir hatten hatten einen Tisch für eine Familienfeier für 10 Personen 2 Monate im Vorraus reserviert. 4 Wochen vor dem geplanten Termin der Familienfeier haben wir den Tisch vor Ort wieder abgesagt aufgrund der Krankheit meiner 97 jährigen Mutter Das Essen war schlecht; Gambas trocken, Salat zu viel Balsamico, Dipps, die dazugehörten, fehlten. Alle Speisen kamen nacheinander.Der Chef ignorierte uns bei der Reklamation.Immerhin bat uns die freundliche Kellnerin ein Dessert zur "Entschädigung" an.Sicherheitshalber habe ich am Tag der geplanten Familienfeier noch einmal angerufen und gefragt, ob die Absage der Tischreservierung angekommen sei. Am nächsten Tag rief der Chef an und wollte, dass ich 50 Euro pro Person bezahle für 10 Personen, da der Tisch nicht abgesagt worden sei, ansonsten wolle er uns verklagen in einem sehr unverschämten Ton.Das war für uns die "Krönung" aller Restaurantbesuche inklusive all unserer Reisen.

Wir haben keine Lust mehr auf dieses unfreundliche Verhalten. Was bilden sich die Leute eigentlich ein. Wir haben es immer hingenommen weil das Essen einfach gut war. Aber jetzt ist Schluss. Möchte nicht ins Detail gehen. Sehr unprofessionell. Nie wieder.

We were guests today. The food was really very good. But the service is incredibly bad. I've never experienced anything like that. Bottle of wine is simply slammed on the table with the words: “here”. Then we were suddenly asked to leave because there were other guests on site. Even though the glass wasn't even empty. Unfortunately, we quickly discovered that this was not possible today. - We were asked what we would like to eat, but we weren't even given menus. The waiter left... I then got the menus for us myself. - Loud argument from the kitchen, glasses clattering - 2nd wine bottle that we ordered was slammed on the table. Waiter: “here”. - We had reserved the table at 5 p.m., at 6:25 p.m. we were asked to drink and leave because the reservation for 7 p.m. was already there. At this point our glasses were still well filled. At 6:40 p.m. we received the bill without asking and had to leave. Not a nice word was said in the 1.5 hours. I'm really shocked at such extremely poor service! Very, very sad!!!!

The food is awesome! It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious steak - to the point with an incredibly tasty, hot pepper sauce. The prawns were a dream! The vegetables are crisp and fresh. The dessert (panna cotta, tiramisu…) was an absolute delight. A perfect evening!

The food and service were excellent. The Gamberoni are actually excellent. The team is relaxed in a pleasant Italian way. Overall, the restaurant is a bit smaller and the seating is tighter than perhaps in other restaurants. Therefore the noise level is a little higher, especially in the evening. If you prefer quieter surroundings, you may not be in the perfect place.

The food is good, but is unjustifiably overrated here. When it comes to service, it really depends on the mood of the day. The crowd is typically Rü, so the prices are quite exorbitant. Changing lunch menu.

Lack of ethics. I came here to observe the service before booking it for a corporate event and found the service to be terrible. If you don't order a bottle of wine, the food is served so late that you only get it after all the other guests who arrive later but are regular customers. The message is clear: "Don't ever come back, you're just occupying our tables." I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who is curious and wants to try it unless you know the staff.

Service was done extremely slow, all customers personally knowing the waiters are prioritized. We were there for the first tine and had the feeling that we were ON PURPOSE not deliberately served on time to have a bad experience so that we are not welcomed here again. Unfortunately, the service was already unfriendly back then, which is why we were unsure whether we should come back. Today we decided to try again and went at lunchtime without a reservation. When we arrived there were still a few tables available. Nevertheless, we were told by the short, fat, bald waiter, without even saying hello, that “everything was reserved” and that we should take a seat outside in the rain. I completely understand if a restaurant is fully booked - that's no problem. But it would be desirable if this was communicated to guests in a friendly and respectful tone. After the service was outrageous and disrespectful for the second time, we have decided to forego further visits - no matter how good the food may be. It's a shame that the poor service overshadows the otherwise good cuisine.

I had to go to the toilet urgently; The women's toilet was occupied for a while, so I quickly went to the men's toilet. When I came out again, a small person (I think a waiter) was standing in front of the door and looked at me stupidly from the side and told me that it was a men's toilet. Generally a nice shop, but this little wannabe employee (wearing glasses) should control his tone towards certain guests!! My wife really had to go to the toilet and the women's toilet was occupied, so she was forced to use the men's toilet, which was visibly uncomfortable for her!! I wanted to have a table for two with a friend around 6 p.m., more than half of the tables were unoccupied and not set! Such an unpleasant person, whether waiter or boss, told us in a stupid arrogant way that all seats were reserved. I've never come across something so outrageous! The price and quality are just terrible, the service leaves something to be desired, they included some water in the bill that we didn't order and didn't even comment on some items with prices that weren't right. t on the menu. From what was on the menu - 20 euros for a piece of stringy liver without any side dish. Or 20 euros for a piece of lean salmon, even without a side dish. You decide. The markup for wine three times would be fine, but five times...disappointing to say the least. For a starter with 4 prawns, 8 pieces of shinken and 4 mussels they charge 75 euros... crazy. Half of our order wasn't on the menu or wine list. The waiter himself tells us the wine prices and at the end “pleasantly” surprises us with the prices for what he recommended to us based on “his experience”. And these prices in no way correspond to the taste experience or the size of the portions. The waiter laughed at our price questions and didn't apologize for the misunderstanding, let alone give a compliment. When you order, don't rely on the waiter's advice, just order what is on the menu, otherwise you will be very disappointed like us who paid 250 euros for a mediocre lunch for 4 people. Although it's better, just don't go here.

Last Thursday, 7 of us had dinner at Gammas e Gamberoni. First of all I have to say that the food was ok. What didn't work at all was the price-performance ratio. The waiter offered us 2 starter plates. One was with prawns, mozzarella tomato and carpaccio, the other with 8 bruscetta. Price ratio in no relation to the other... 45€ for the starter plate with the prawns and the carpaccio and 40€ for 8 bruscetta. The main course with 5 small lamb chops and a small cereal bowl of grilled vegetables for €30 was also a little overpriced. I personally wouldn't go there again. Maybe you should think again about the prices, especially for the starters!

Price performance is simply miserable. You just fill up, well…shit. Be careful when the boss (at least that's what it said on the bill) serves you personally. On recommendation we were brought beef steak and lamb chops. And then of course a starter plate (4 jack scallops/4 king prawns/4 carpacho/4 meat strips) was offered. Then we could choose a bottle of wine. They charged 43 euros per portion for meat (portions were small with few side dishes) and 75 euros for starter plates! Wine cost us 50 euros a bottle. Wine that you can buy for 12 euros... Yes, it's a restaurant and of course it gets more expensive. But not 5 times! The food itself was delicious. But not excellent either. Just delicious. We were not offered a menu. We were given a recommendation and a chalkboard with positions was rolled out. The problem was that such prices were nowhere to be seen. If you want to eat here, you should either ask for the menu beforehand or ask for exact prices. So that you won't be surprised later. Service was very slow and in the end quite unfriendly. It's a shame...if you lose profit like that. Now you have made a profit. But that's what. We don't come here anymore and would advise everyone against it.

So after a few minutes we decided to leave the store and not spend our money here. The only thing that seems to set the store apart is its unsympathetic staff and the guests who look like Bert Wollersheim.

You can cook there. The food was delicious, the wine was great. Now to the service: We were presumably served by one of the owners. It's unbelievable the arrogance and ignorance with which we were treated. I find it remarkable that you can actually afford this in Rüttenscheid without going broke. This was our second time there and after the first impression, where we were served by the other owner, we decided to give it another try. Today was definitely the last time. It felt like he walked past us ten times, even though we had the empty glasses clearly visible, no question about dessert. No question about grappa, no question about coffee. You might be able to do that in Sauerland, but not in Rüttenscheid.

The food was very tasty, but the service was absolutely terrible... if you're not a regular, it's best to bring glasses with you... Unfortunately not a good experience. But maybe we just didn't have enough Botox.

Today we had lunch here. We only took two cokes, a salad and an Aliolio pasta. An employee said €40. I thought it was too expensive. And he should bring the bill with him. And it says €29.50. He simply lied. I have no idea whether it was right in his head that he was thinking wrongly or whether he wanted to make a lie. Since we've been there, he's been making unpleasant jokes all the time. I actually don't like writing bad reviews, but I have to write them. I never want to come back. Wednesday evening was a very long, mixed evening. As a group, we were initially greeted warmly...but were immediately provided with table water and wine in a very pushy manner.. no menu/no prices. The first round (also not ordered) went very quickly, super tasty bread & olive oil. We were offered a starter as a platter. So far so good. However, when we wanted to choose our main courses individually, the waiter was immediately obviously unhappy and the friendliness was gone. That wasn't intentional, and we felt it straight away. More drinks only after an active hunt for the waiter, and apparently no more beer of one type (neighbors were still supplied)...the food was great! But also the waiting time in a negative sense. Waiting time for the starter plates: approx. 50min, Waiting time for the main course was more than 1.5 hours Conclusion: The food was super tasty. These are the classic Italian portion sizes, where you eat several courses, but this is not made clear anywhere. The negative highlight at the end: The invoice was an incomprehensible flat rate amount There were only two items on the bill: drinks and food. The food is great, unfortunately the service is not good at all...no matter how great the food is.

That was a very mixed evening. At the beginning we were very happy that we got a table for 14 people quite spontaneously. Here would be my tip to the restaurant: If you don't want this group size, or if it poses a challenge for the service and kitchen, just communicate. The first round went very quickly, delicious bread & olive oil, when it came to wine we were only asked for white or red and dry or sweet, no menu or price information. So we went with the house wine. We were offered a starter as a platter. So far so good. When we announced that we would like to choose our main courses individually, the fun was over. That wasn't intentional and we felt it straight away. Further drinks only after an active hunt for the waiter, waiting time for the starter plates: 50 minutes, waiting time for the main course: 1.5 hours While eating, I agree with one comment: The kitchen does the best job. The food was very tasty. These are the classic Italian portion sizes when you eat several courses, but this is not made clear anywhere. But the kicker came at the end: The bill was a presumably made-up flat rate amount and even on the bill there were only two items: drinks and food. When asked, there was at least a “spontaneous” price for the wine. So to sum up: The food is wonderful, unfortunately the service spoils the whole impression enormously.

Small, fine Italian restaurant on the RÜ, the name says it all. Fresh and simple suits it very well. Great fish, great pasta and delicious wine, what more could you want. And all at reasonable prices. Be sure to make a reservation, the place is always full. Speaks for itself ;-)

This was my second time eating in this shop. Even though it was very bad the first time, I wanted to give the store another chance. The employees and owners of the store are very rude, unfriendly and arrogant, which makes the whole atmosphere seem very uncomfortable. The pasta we ordered was inedible. You better not do this to yourself. I absolutely cannot recommend this store.

After I nicely and politely pointed out to the employee (probably the boss) that there was a rat running around in the store, he became very aggressive and racist towards me. I will never enter this store again.

On the homepage it says, your wardrobe will be accepted and you will be shown to the place We weren't even greeted, despite having a reservation, we apparently weren't expected and the waitress, dressed in midriff-baring clothes, told us to wait because she was alone after all. The kitchen does the best job in this restaurant, everything else is like a bad joke.

They don't understand much about hospitality here. There were 10 or 11 of us there and we weren't greeted. The waiter was very abrupt and rather unfriendly. We weren't offered dessert either. Beer and cola were served in wine glasses. It is possible to pay by card but then you have a very bad-tempered waiter. Prices were also arbitrary and you should remember the prices from the menu. Food was tasty but portions too small. We were all very dissatisfied with this restaurant and will not be returning or recommending it, rather advise against it as there are so many other good restaurants nearby.

Without sales, there is no income I think that's a shame for the boss too!

The food looked and tasted very good. I expected more from the service staff. Our inquiries about what wines were available were dismissed with a finger pointing at the wine bottles lined up on the wall. Since we aren't wine knowledgeable, this wasn't helpful. This also happened to the couple next to us. Another service person was also very short. It wasn't until the third one that we felt like we were in good hands. As delicious as the food was, I don't think I'll go there again.

Rude waiter shouts through the restaurant there are no seats left at 6pm when 60% of the seats are free. I'm guessing a strong Napoleon complex. It's a shame I won't be eating here anymore.

If I lived nearby I would probably come to this restaurant every day. The spaghetti here is the best I have ever eaten in Germany. The prices are also very reasonable. It's unfortunate that I have to drive 100 km to come here.

We had reserved a table especially for Valentine's Day. When we arrived we were told we had to wait another hour, despite having a reservation. Unfortunately, we were not offered a drink or a place to sit while we waited. At the same time, this was communicated to us in a very unfriendly manner.
