Totaler schlechter Service!!!! Totale Überforderung und das an einem Samstag !!! Abend !!!!!! Und es sind noch nicht mal alle Tische besetzt! Fast 1 1/2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet! Wirklich unzumutbar . Um die Getränke konnte man betteln!

The food was really good, but it took 45 minutes to take the order (3x starter + 3x main course) after another half hour then the starter but only 2. The third starter came a good 20 minutes later! Then again 45 minutes later the main course is here! All in all, the service was not good...the guests around us felt the same way!

The toilets haven't been cleaned for 2 years and nobody accepts our orders.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch there after hearing rave reviews about this restaurant. Based on the description of the food on the menu, everything sounded great. In short: It's not it. Some of the food was good. A soup was loveless, sad, poorly seasoned and blandly prepared. There were no multiple dishes. Only 1 of 3 desserts can be served. Ambiance: modern, cozy car workshop Service: casually distant At €150 for 4 people (a total of 1 starter, 4 main courses, 1 dessert) there is still a lot of room for improvement. The price-performance ratio is not right here. In this price range you have to have your logistics under control or reduce the size of the map. I'm not going there anymore. I'm really disappointed.

It was October with my family and around 15 people eating there. We wanted to celebrate something with my wife, the food is really tasty but back then there was something wrong with the service. Cutlery was always missing or something was forgotten; we were often only served when I went to the checkout and basically forced myself on. With tips it was well over €500 Today, December 29th, 24, we thought let's have dinner there again, just the two of us. We had reserved. - you're standing at the entrance, there's a sign saying "please wait". So we wait for 15-20 minutes, no one comes. OK then we just went in and were then allowed to choose a table. There was little going on. - we ordered a starter and drinks and had left the menu and wanted to order the main course afterwards. So far so good. After we finished we waited and waited and waited, nothing happened. I went out to smoke and there were 10-15 people standing outside waiting because of the stupid sign. I told the people, just go in, they won't come. After I was finished, no one came to take our order. Forced myself again, still have to argue with the service and are told how it works blah blah, although we had clarified it with her right at the beginning. Food came and it was really good, but my mood was really ruined. If you want to pay and let them know verbally, it will take another 20-30 minutes. Fed up, I had to go to the cash register and force myself back. 90€ and no tip this time. Tip: 1 - remove the stupid sign in front!! 2 - fire the service manager! Or hire one! Conclusion: every snack bar has better service than you. I'm not going there anymore

War Oktober mit meiner Familie ca. 15 Personen dort Essen wir wollten mit meiner Frau etwas Feiern, das Essen ist wirklich ausgezeichnet aber damals hatte schon mit dem Service etwas nicht gestimmt. Ständig hat Besteck gefehlt oder es wurde etwas vergessen, bedient wurden wir oft erst als ich an die Kasse ging und mich quasi aufgezwungen habe. Mit Trinkgeld waren es weit über 500€ Heute den 29.12.24, wir dachten lass uns noch mal dort zu Abend essen, zu zweit. Wir hatten reserviert. - stehst am Eingang, dort steht ein Schild "bitte warten". So warten wir 15-20 Minuten, es kommt keiner. OK dann sind wir einfach rein und wir durften uns dann einen Tisch aussuchen. Es war wenig los. - wir bestellen eine Vorspeise, Getränke und hatten und die Karte noch gelassen, wollten danach noch den Hauptgang bestellen. Soweit so gut. Nach dem wir fertig waren haben wir gewartet und gewartet und gewartet, es tut sich nichts. Bin raus zum Rauchen und draußen stehen 10-15 Personen und warten, wegen dem blöden Schild. Hab den Leuten gesagt, geht einfach rein die kommen nicht. Nach dem ich fertig war, kam immer nicht keiner um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Hatte mich wieder aufgezwungen, muss sich noch mit dem Service streiten und wirst belehrt wie das läuft Blabla, dabei hatten wir es mit ihr direkt am Anfang geklärt. Essen kam das wirklich gut war aber mit der Laube war es dann wirklich durch. Willst bezahlen und lässt es die verbal wissen, dauert wieder 20-30 Minuten. Schnauze voll, musste ich abgezogen an die Kasse gehen und mich wieder aufdrängen.  90€ und kein Trinkgeld diesmal. Tip: 1 - macht das dumme Schild vorne weg!! 2 - entlasst den Servicechef! Oder stellt einen ein! Fazit: jede imbissbude hat einen besseren Service als ihr. Ich geh da nicht mehr hin

Even though there wasn't much going on, we had to wait a long time for service. The food was ok. Not a highlight. We won't be coming back.

The quality of the food was really good. Ambience is nice and you can really have a good time there. BUT, there was no guaranteed vegetarian main course on the menu and I find that simply incomprehensible, especially in this day and age. When I asked whether it would be possible to have a vegetarian main course, there was only a passing reference to a dish with fish sauce...

Simply one of the best restaurants in Koblenz. I can recommend it 100% and with a clear conscience!

Even as a regular customer, I'm fed up and will never come back. The food has not only become more expensive but also much, much smaller. You could already see it on the plate before eating. When I eat it, I'm shocked: it's simply halved. This borders on fraud.

I was there last week and unfortunately I was served inedible duck. It wasn't fried crispy, but had a rubbery consistency. The taste was also very strange, so I couldn't eat a bite. When I mentioned this to customer service, they didn't address it and simply referred me to a new supplier. I had to pay the full price and can absolutely not recommend the restaurant!

The food was really delicious and the service was impeccable. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were in a messy state, which I found a bit of a shame.

ABSOLUTER TOTALSCHLAG! Wir haben Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt und haben bei Abholung zweimal nachfragen, ob das richtige Menü für die Kinder im Paket ist. Trotzdem war es wiederholt FALSCH! Nachdem wir uns bei der Tel.-Reklamation beschwert haben, wurden wir einfach nur abgewimmelt. Keine Entschuldigung, keine Erstattung, keine Entschädigung. Wir haben angeblich falsch bestellt, obwohl das nicht sein kann. Nach diesem Desaster sind wir definitiv zum letzten Mal bei Papa Umi gewesen und können nur jedem davon abraten, hier zu bestellen. Ein absolutes No-Go! Kundenservice = Note 6, das Essen war auch schonmal besser. Hat mir nicht geschmeckt.

ABSOLUTE TOTAL FAILURE! We ordered takeaway and asked twice when we picked it up to make sure the right menu for the children was in the package. Yet it was repeatedly WRONG! After we complained on the phone, we were simply brushed off. No apology, no refund, no compensation. Apparently we ordered wrong, although that couldn't be the case. People want to listen to the Vodafone phone call - we hope so! After this disaster, we have definitely been to Papa Umi for the last time and can only advise anyone not to order here. An absolute no-go! Customer service = grade 6, the food was also better. I didn't like it.

The food tastes delicious. I think it would be better if there were more staff working in the evenings because there are a lot of people and you have to wait quite a long time for a waiter... But otherwise very great restaurant! I can definitely recommend sake there.

The "no reservations" policy is annoying when you're sitting elbow to elbow with strangers and eating dinner for 80 euros per head. The crown, however, is the price increase. I know everything is more expensive, but a 50-80% increase compared to the previous year is not realistic.

Wir waren gegen 19.00 Uhr dort, war nicht sehr voll. angenehme Atmosphäre, wenn man von der Musik absieht. Vorspeise und Getränke waren fix da, dann haben wir gewartet auf die bestellten Suppen. Nachfrage ergab "das dauert, muß ja gekocht werden". Wurde dann ca 5 Minuten nach diesen Worten gebracht. Kein Wort der Entschuldigung. Convenience Produkte sind völlig OK, ist ja kein Sternerestaurant. Was wir bekamen war allerdings eine erkennbare ( halbe) Tütensuppe, ein Fertigprodukt namens "Mama o.ä." Typisch gekringelte Nudeln, die nur mit heißem Wasser oder Brühe aufgegossen werden und dann verzehrfertig sind, Päckchen mit Gewürzen sind dabei. Dazu gab es ein wenig Brockolie, zwei Pilze und zwei Teigtaschen. Geschmeckt hats, aber ein Geschmäckle bleibt.

Spontaneously got a table for two on a Saturday around 6 p.m. without a reservation. Waited at the entrance and then a friendly waitress arrived. She led us to a table. Menus came very quickly. Despite the full restaurant, extra requests were warmly received and fulfilled. Very fresh and tasty.

The restaurant presents itself with a nice atmosphere that matches the offering. The service is attentive and fast, but you have to expect waiting times. The menus have already seen better days, and the table surfaces would also be happy with more attention from the service. The food itself comes to the table as expected and is properly prepared. The quality is okay, but there is still room for improvement. The price-performance ratio is still not right, a guest should never dirty a plate passed across the table by the service because sauce sticks to the underside of the plate. The portion sizes are okay, but they don't justify the price. Overall, there is room for improvement here. I can only recommend this restaurant to a limited extent.

Wir hatten einen Gutschein für ein Essen im Papa Umi und waren vorher stark verunsichert durch die schlechten Bewertungen in 2024 ...vielleicht auch etwas skeptisch, weil wir eher nicht asiatisch essen und auch kein Fan von Sushi sind. Doch unsere Essen (Curry mit Huhn und mit Roastbeef) waren wirklich sehr, sehr lecker, es gab gar nichts auszusetzen, Bedienung freundlich und schnell, alles topp! ...außer vielleicht die fehlende Rückenlehne und die nervige Musik :-)

High quality fresh fish. Pleasant atmosphere, service is ok. Prices have increased significantly compared to last year, but the food is still worth it!

The food, and that's what matters, was super tasty and well prepared. We also really liked the atmosphere. We only had to make an effort to reorder drinks, as the service staff hardly visited our part of the restaurant... hence a point deducted.

There were five of us there. We made reservations for 6 p.m. and were there on time. The cards were brought to us quickly and then we had almost 40 minutes before we could order something (there was a waiter there twice in between, but he couldn't take any orders). We then ordered drinks, starters and main courses straight away. Starters came relatively quickly, but not all at the same time and the first ones were already cold by the time everyone was there. Drinks came AFTER the appetizers. The waiting time for the main courses was OK, they came relatively at the same time. The food tasted great and highly recommended. We had the following starters and main courses: - Edamame, Gyoza, Wonton, Grilled Chicken Skewers, Spring Rolls, UMI Rice Burger with Beef Fillet Strips - Sushi plate Kamasutra (2x), BUN rice noodles with grilled chicken The atmosphere is great, but unfortunately the benches have no backrest and are not particularly comfortable. Conclusion: food great, service could be improved.

Very popular sushi restaurant and therefore always quite full. It's great that there is a separate play area for the children. The food is tasty, fresh and of good quality - but also quite expensive. The service could be a little more attentive, but it is friendly.

When making the reservation over the phone, poor German was spoken, which certainly seems authentic, but can be tiring. The hint that the group was celebrating a birthday for 10 people was simply ignored after not being properly understood. The service is generally friendly, but doesn't keep up with the cuisine and the ambience. For example, they were served by three different service staff. No introduction, warmth or anything like that - work on the assembly line. Drinks and food were received and served correctly. No additional sales or inquiries. Service had to be actively addressed for follow-up orders. Clearing up the food was tough. After the starter no new cutlery was set. Good food that tasted delicious. A visit every now and then, without any major expectations, definitely worth it. Around €40 per person paid, although it would certainly have been more if the service had been activated. (The majority of seating options consist of benches without backrests. There are a few exceptions with seats with backs against the wall. The day after Halloween the restaurant was still fully decorated.)

Very good Asian cuisine and it's also nice for children.

Super nice ambience, food nicely served but rather weakly seasoned. Very little taste in places. Service is totally different, one waitress is super nice, others walk past you and ignore you even if you wave and make eye contact. All in all okay but still a bit disappointed.

The order was with me, firstly, they mixed the sushi, secondly, they did not complete the chopsticks and soy sauce, and thirdly, they were not satisfied when I returned.

Unfortunately hardly vegetarian/vegan. There was a piece of duck in the vegetarian dish. We waited 30 minutes before we could place the order, the drinks only came after 15 minutes despite four waitresses and a meal came 10 minutes earlier than the other dishes. The waitress didn't ask if everything was OK with the food or if we would like something more to drink. They also didn't respond to looks/raising of hands.

If a restaurant is really busy on a Tuesday, then you can assume that the food, ambience and service are not just good. It was like this: it tasted great, the service was super nice and the ambience (especially the lighting design) was very pleasant. I can recommend the restaurant 100%.

As a “repeat offender” at Papa Umi in Koblenz 😉🧡 The food is sooo fresh and deliciously prepared 🍱🍛🍣👌 The taste is simply great ☘️ Great atmosphere at tables for two with candle; still very well attended at 2 p.m.👍 The girls in service are sweet and attentive 🤩 We definitely enjoy coming back again and again 💯💛🧡❤

Why only 2 stars? It's not the service, not the taste of the food or the ambience! With all understanding of the inflation rates, higher costs, i.e. cost coverage... Feel free to raise the prices for the dishes offered, but do not ADDITIONALLY reduce the original size of the dishes/portions! With all possible attempts at explanation - This has quite a bitter aftertaste for guests who have been or are guests of the house since the first minute (we once again left a good €200 with 6 guests). The greed shouldn't be that great! Constructive criticism: ... if you comment on your guests' reviews, you will give them the appropriate hearing and appreciation. Without this, indifference towards paying customers could be suspected! Very worrying if you do it permanently! want to be successful!

The food is super delicious 😋, the staff is very nice but sometimes no one comes for a long time when glasses are empty or even when you want to order or pay, that could still be optimized. Ambience is good but more smaller tables for 4 people and seating with backrests would also be very nice. You always get strangers sitting at the long tables and that's uncomfortable. When you go out to eat, you also want to sit alone at the table with your friends. Maybe you could still work on it. Because some corners in the restaurant are always dark and unused, tables for 4 people or something similar would be possible. Otherwise everything is good.

The food is pretty average, nothing special, but the worst thing was the service. We had to wait **over two hours** for our dish, and when it finally arrived, they offered no compensation or even a convincing apology. Very disappointing the lack of attention and consideration towards customers. I wouldn't recommend it if you value your time and a good dining experience.

The vegetarian options are a joke, you don't even have to start with vegan.

Nie wieder! Wir hatten einen langen Tisch für 12 Personen reserviert, der nicht zur Verfügung stand, weil 2 Personen an diesem Tisch gegessen haben. Wir haben uns zusammengepresst an einen anderen Tisch gesetzt. Einige haben sich verabschiedet, da sie so nicht sitzen wollten. Es war stickig und feucht in dem Raum. Wir haben lange auf die Bestellaufnahme gewartet und auf unsere Getränke. Das Wasser (medium) wurde in einer Karaffe serviert, nicht in einer geschlossenen Flasche. Das Essen war sehr unterschiedlich, von gut bis schlecht. Gemüse mit Garnelen (59) auf keinen Fall bestellen. Kostet 18.50 Euro. Es handelt sich eher um einen Beilagensalat, in dem die Hälfte der Zutaten gefehlt hat. Erdnüsse waren nicht zu finden, 5 kleine wässrige Garnelen sollten dieses Unglück aufpeppen. Irgendetwas aus dem Glas auf den Teller geschüttet plus Garnelen. Qualität ist etwas anderes!

As always, the food is delicious...but the portions are getting smaller as prices rise

The ambience is modern and sober, with too few seating options with backrests for my taste. It's quite dark in the restaurant, but still okay. Unfortunately, the toilets have even less light, which I found unpleasant. The cellar ladies were friendly, but not very attentive. Once you had your food, no one else came so quickly. The food itself was okay, the sushi was fresh. However, I was disappointed with the limited vegetarian selection. I know it differently from other sushi restaurants. The at least vegetarian gyoza were only average and only lukewarm. The price level is quite high for what you get.

We went there on Friday evening without a reservation. There was very little going on and we had free choice of seats. The prices have been revised upwards slightly, but the quality and taste have not suffered. Delicious, very good sushi. Beautifully prepared and served by friendly staff.

Das Essen war geschmacklich nicht schlecht gewesen. Ich hatte das Special Duck Curry, welches mit Reis und Salat im Teller serviert wird. Als ich fast fertig mit essen war, habe ich im Salat eine Raupe entdeckt. Absolute Ekel-Situation. Die Raupe hatte sich bei Berührung sogar noch zusammen gezogen. Das zeugt von absolut mangelnden Hygieneverhältnissen, waschen des Salats ist anscheinend zu viel verlangt. Der Umgang mit der Situation seitens Personal war mindestens genauso schlecht. Eine Entschuldigung war ein reines Genuschel und kaum wahrnehmbar. Über einen Preisnachlass oder eine Entschödigung wurde auch nicht nachgedacht. Ich kann nur dringend vom Papa Umi abraten.

We went to Papa Umi on a Saturday evening and it was a really nice evening. The food was excellent and the ambience is nice too. The selection on the menu leaves nothing to be desired - at least for us. We will be happy to come back to try out more dishes.

Wir sind schon sehr oft hier Essen gegangen aber und waren eigentlich immer zufrieden. Trotz negativer Hinweise von Freunden und Bekannten in letzter Zeit sind wir wieder hergekommen und müssen leider die negativen Hinweise bestätigen. Das Essen hat nach nichts geschmeckt, der Fisch war in der Rolle komplett durchgegart. Hinterher war uns beiden schlecht und wir hatten Magenprobleme. Sorry, obwohl wir oft und gerne bei Papa Umi eingekehrt sind, war das das letzte Mal.

The food is always great, but the service has been a disaster for a long time. Food often sits on the kitchen counter for a long time and arrives at the table only lukewarm. For the first order you have to carefully make eye contact with a waiter, and a second round of drinks is often difficult.

Hello I don't know why restaurateurs think that guests like loud music...it's just total nonsense!!!! I don't want to sit in your restaurant at 5 p.m. listening to cheap mainstream music! I would like to chat. We've been coming to you for years, and this has happened twice now. I told the waitress, she didn't understand. Then we left straight away. Actually a great restaurant with great food. If it stays like this, I won't come to you anymore. The world is already too loud

Great ambience! Friendly service. Enjoyed delicious food, although the duck breast had a rather thick layer of fat, which indicates rather aggressive fattening. It didn't bother me in terms of taste, but it did bother me visually, because the eye eats with it.

Food was great, service was a flop on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. 😱 We waited almost 90 minutes for 4 main courses, that shouldn't happen at this time. No apology from the service staff. It's a shame, we had completely different experiences with Papa Umi in Neuwied.

Large restaurant with enough space without a reservation - but we were also there on a Friday early evening. The food and the service 1A. We found the prices quite high, the two of us paid €80 including a tip. And there weren't that many dishes, a bit of sushi and a few appetizers and of course something delicious to drink. But everything tasted good.

Our favorite sushi restaurant. Food is freshly prepared and tastes simply phenomenal. It's also not drowned in sauce like other sushi restaurants are, less is more. The service could sometimes be more attentive, I understand that the store is very large in terms of space, but sometimes if you want to order something to drink, it takes time. I would like the recipe for the Mango Calpico. The curry is also highly recommended. The restaurant is clean, open, spacious and nicely decorated. I think the fresh flowers on every table are very nice as decoration, much better than if there was plastic there.

The place wasn't bad but I don't really like the communal tables, the place is too dark for my taste. The food was pretty good and the price was acceptable. The service is good and the measured thing came out quickly.

...I like the atmosphere, lighting and especially the large main course soups... Nobody regulates eating times and duration...now a bad habit in many Koblenz restaurants... Really sweet, very warm waitresses from different Asian countries... A wonderful place to chat after the cinema...

Asian cuisine from sushi to soup. Large restaurant was well attended on Saturday evening. We sat in the middle. Volume was okay, we were able to have a good conversation. Service quick and friendly. We each ate salad, once with tuna and once with salmon, fish was well prepared and salads were delicious. I would have liked some more bread, but that's not part of it. Small minus: women's toilet was dark and not that clean. Overall satisfied.

The ambience speaks for itself! Cozy darkened and a touch of Asian furnishings. The conditions were more than friendly and the food arrived quickly. Visually alone, the food was impressive and the taste was also great. I've had worse meals at other chain stores so I give it 5 stars!

Was für eine absolute Enttäuschung! Trotz einer Reservierung haben wir satte 30 Minuten im Eingangsbereich gewartet, bevor wir überhaupt an unseren Tisch geführt wurden. Als wäre das nicht schon schlimm genug, wurde uns dann auch noch ein Getränk ganze 20 Minuten später serviert als die anderen. Die Vorspeisen wurden versetzt voneinander serviert, was jegliches Gefühl von gemeinsamem Essen zunichte machte. Aber das war noch nicht das Schlimmste: In meiner Sushi-Rolle fand ich tatsächlich ein Haar! Ich fühlte mich nicht nur angeekelt, mir ist der Apetit auf diese (teure) Speise vergangen. Als wir höflich um Kulanz baten, wurde zunächst angeboten das Essen neu zuzubereiten (so wie es sein sollte). Nach Rücksprache des Service mit Küche und Geschäftsführung, wurden wir jedoch dreist abgewiesen. Die Geschäftsführerin war respektlos und arrogant, sie schickte zunächst einen freundlichen, aber unbeholfenen Service-Mitarbeiter vor, um sich einem Gespräch zu entziehen. Als wir darauf bestanden, wurden wir von ihr persönlich verbal angegriffen und beschuldigt, das Haar selbst ins Essen gelegt zu haben! Es war ein Albtraum! Nach unangenehm langer Grundsatzdiskussion wurden die Kosten des Gerichts zwar nicht berechnet, das Gericht nicht jedoch neu zubereitet, sowie ich es mir eigentlich gewünscht hätte und wie es mir zunächst auch versprochen wurde. Das Ganze hat meinen Abiturfeier-Tag ruiniert, und ich bin hungrig nach Hause gegangen. Nach einigen Jahren als Stammkunde, werde ich nie wieder dieses Restaurant betreten, und ich rate jedem dringend davon ab, es zu besuchen. Ein absoluter Reinfall! Dieses Lokal sollte sich dringend Beispiel an anderen, Kundenservice orientierten Restaurants nehmen.

What an absolute disappointment! Despite a reservation, we waited in the entrance area for a whopping 30 minutes before we were even shown to our table. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were served a drink a full 20 minutes later than the others. The starters were served staggered from one another, which destroyed any sense of communal dining. But that wasn't the worst part: I actually found a hair in my sushi roll! Not only did I feel disgusted, I lost my appetite for this (expensive) food. When we politely asked for goodwill, they initially offered to re-prepare the food (as it should be). However, after consulting the service with the kitchen and management, we were brazenly turned away. The manager was disrespectful and arrogant, she initially sent a friendly but awkward service employee to avoid a conversation. When we insisted, she personally verbally attacked us and accused us of putting the hair in the food herself! It was a nightmare! After an unpleasantly long basic discussion, the cost of the dish was not calculated, but the dish was not re-prepared as I would have actually wanted it and as I was initially promised. The whole thing ruined my graduation day and I went home hungry. After several years as a regular customer, I will never set foot in this restaurant again and I strongly advise anyone not to visit. An absolute failure! This restaurant should urgently follow the example of other customer service-oriented restaurants.

Food was great but mochi ice cream was 12 euros and was way too expensive. A normal trip costs around eight. I ordered it spontaneously without looking at the menu and was unpleasantly surprised

The sushi is super fresh and tastes super delicious. Can only be recommended. The selection is also great.

too many people, I accept it's a popular place, buuut..... want a more comfortable atmosphere , more cozy seating, not like in a fast food cafe

Nice ambience, delicious food. Medium to higher priced, but absolutely worth it. The coconut mango lassi is also highly recommended.
